Big shout out to Kyle and his staff! I needed a pair of cruiser style bicycles for my wife and we were able to pick out these Norco Indie's. They checked all the specs on the bikes to make sure they were ready to ride, and then out the door we went. Alpine Hut have been amazing in helping me sort out ski boot fit issues. Both in trying to sort out boots I bought elsewhere (where you have to book and stick within your appointment time, and can't directly work with the actual person making adjustments), and then extensive time trying on of different boots and working on another pair. The experience I've had here is of people dedicated to help you, not just trying to sell you a pair of boots and moving you on for the next appointment. The shop is "small" compared to the large corporate shops, but is really specialized in what they do. The people working here are experts dedicated to their profession, not retail salespeople with some limited training. read more

We took our two kids (3 and 6) to get ski rentals at Alpine Hut. Holy smokes. Such an overwhelmingly positive experience. Anna had endless patience for my son who tried on about 10 pairs of boots before deciding the first pair was the most comfortable. Our daughter wandered off multiple times and we were so embarrassed as the shop is full of expensive merchandise... no one was upset or bothered. This review is on their bike shop. I was on a search for a bike. A bike that would get me to and from work. With all the bad things I have heard about buying bikes from Walmart/Fred Myer/Target, I was trying to buy mine from a bike shop. But my budget was too low, I was only looking to spend $200-300. So I got pointed in the direction of buying a bike online. Raleigh Bikes had great deals online! Including free shipping, free assembly, free returns, and no tax! This is where Alpine Hut comes in. They are listed as one of the pro shops that does assembly. Since they are right down the street for me, I chose to have my bike sent there! I ended up ordering a Raleigh Eva 2 mountain bike for $299. I ordered my bike online and it took about a week to ship and assemble. When I went in to get it, I asked to get a kick stand installed and they were more than happy to! it was $8 for a kickstand. A few days later I went back because I felt the kick stand was rubbing a lil on my back tire and they adjusted it for me. I also caved and bought a back rack and they also installed that for me. $30 for the rack $10 labor fee. Not thrilled they charged me $10 for the labor but I am happy to support local shops and I am also happy with the back rack. I will definitely come back here again to get my bike tuned! read more

Do not get your bike tuned up here. Overcharged, and nothing was fixed. I went in for a tune up - specifically for a derailer issue. 3 WEEKS LATER, they finally got around to fixing my bike. They said it would take a week max. After calling a couple times I and not getting an answer when it'd be done, I waited two more weeks. I went in to pick it up, I was quoted at 80 dollars for a basic tune up, and if there were parts needed to be ordered or if I was going to be charged extra- they'd give me a call. 140$ later, with no real answers as to what was done for my derailer or my bike in general. I left this place frustrated. Then going on a bike ride later that day, to of course, my derailer still not being fixed. Chain skips on the exact gear I was hoping they could help fix. Will not be back- there are other great places to get your bike tuned up with better quality / care / customer service in Seattle. read more

Just wanted to say thank you!!! The short story is Nick and team absolutely did a great job today from ski knowledge to getting the skis mounted in minutes. The longer story is I went to Evo (whoops I now know) and bought a pair of full price skis and bindings. I walked them over to get mounted and was told it'd be $27.53 for the mount. Sure, on a $1K purchase it's a small amount but for me it was principle. I returned the skis and bindings...came to Alpine Hut...got the great service you've given me on bike and ski bindings in the past. It was a great reminder of the beauty of a ski shop! Today's experience also just cemented Alpine Hut as my go to from here on out. Your great customer service today made my day! I rarely write online reviews, but Alpine Hut deserves only the HIGHEST reviews. We have been Alpine Hut customers since 1978 and have always received the highest quality of service and expertise for all of our ski, ski boot and accessory purchases. Yes, we do "shop around" to gain other shops opinions and prices, but always end up returning to Alpine Hut. Ron, the orginal owner was the best boot fitter I found in Seattle-Tacome-Bellevue area and before he retired, told me that his son Kyle was even better, which I thoughtfully questioned until I needed new boots....WOW, Kyle Fisher KNOWS and does the best boot fitting I have ever experienced. A couple of my ski buddy's and I have various foot problems and Kyle is able to fit and adjust boots to our liking and make it possible that we can continue to aggressively ski and enjoy that experience. There are some very good "ski shops" in the area and I do not mean to reduce their service, knowledge and expertise, but I have found that I can alway depend on Alpine Hut. Greg G read more

These folks are awesome. Went in to get fitted for boots on a super busy day. We tried on 4 pairs over an hour before finding the perfect fit. Picked up skis and bindings as well -- boot fitter took one look at my initial selection and immediately recommended a better pair based on my skill level and aggressiveness. And then the super accommodating turnaround to mount bindings ... was going skiing the next day and didn't realize it's usually a week or two to mount, tune and wax. The patient technician completed right at closing. He even brought me back to inquire about size preferences. Now my go to -- will go back for all my outdoor needs! read more

We both have road bikes, but were looking for a new commuter bike to attach a child seat for family outings (our son is 5 months old). While my husband was test-riding a few bike options, the owner Kyle offered me his office to nurse our baby (without even asking!). You might think, as I did, that the winter would be a good way to get a quick bike tune-up, since it's the off-season. If so, I recommend taking your bike to a bike shop rather than a bike and ski shop. I took my bike in and foolishly didn't get a time estimate; when I called a few days later, I was told that since my bike was in line with three hundred pairs of skis for service, the turnaround time would be almost two weeks. Instead, I picked it up after a full week, untouched, from where it was sitting outside in the pouring rain--good thing I left that seat cover on it!--and took it to an actual bike shop where they gave me a turnaround time of two days. read more

I drove about an hour to have a boot fitting consultation with Kyle specifically. He is the second generation OWNER of this business which is so nice to see. Kyle takes pride in his business and wants his customers to be happy and it shows. Kyle is an outstanding boot fitter. He quickly found that I had been fitted incorrectly with my current boots at REI and got me into a size smaller than REI fitted me for. He found a couple models that fit great for me, and one that is just on the market for a week (next year's model). He educated me that it is better to have a tighter fitting boot to start and punch out/modify from there (forgive me Kyle if I'm using the wrong terms), rather than buy a boot too big because there is little that can be done to solve that issue. His shop is well stocked with boots and boot fitting gear, and they are also a zipfit dealer which is great. There was zero sales pressure and Kyle and his team gave me ample time to decide. It is so nice to have a visit with a master of his craft as people don't seem to master anything these days. Love these guys! I had a notsogreat experience at a bigger flashier store a few neighborhoods over and decided to get a "second opinion" at Alpine. They were busy with lots of people trying on boots but they managed to make it work with three fitters helping a couple of people each. Even so, I felt like I got lots of personal attention. The fitter really listened to the type of skier I am (experienced snowboarder switching disciplines) he outfitted me in a pair of boots which were slightly uncomfortably snug but not toe-crushing and I felt confident they could adjust the boots for me as needed. He had great recommendations for skis too, and I walked out of the shop ready to hit the slopes the next day. Can't say enough good things about the service at this shop. read more

Had a really good customer experience here. I had a ski helmet that was missing its back goggle clip and called to see if they could help. The salesperson offered to see if she could order the part - I explained that I needed it in 1.5 days, so probably wouldn't work. Then she said they had a used helmet of the same make and she'd be happy to move its goggle clip onto my helmet - free of charge. I popped in and shazam! She took care of it right away. Excellent Customer Service and repair/maintenance service. They did not charge me fixing the collapsing chain on highest gears of my Nordco Torrent Moutain Bike I bought there, as they recognized they should have set it up properly to start with when selling me the bike. They did not even charge me cleaning the bike, which was pretty dirty when I brought it from my son riding it hard after heavy rainy days. Very cool to have done that when they did not have to, and I did not push for it at all. I tipped well of course as a consequence. I really like this family owned shop. They are very customer oriented. I also bought my kids ski gear there. I would highly recommend to go buy your bike and ski gear there, also keep it maintained, and repaired there. I wanted to finally get my first mountain bike. Happened to be during the covid 19 shutdown so i was worried because no matter where I went, I couldn't test ride anything and it had been over a decade since I've been on just my cheap toys-r-us "BMX" bike. I researched for days what I should get, and finally called and spoke with Sara about getting a bike. She actually suggested a bike several hundred dollars less than the other option I had, and explained why. With how busy I knew she was I was surprised she took the time to ask questions when I felt something was trying to pull her away and rush her, but she gave me the service I needed to finally pull the trigger (working in retail on commission as my only job, I know how quickly people can just shut down and brush you off, especially over the phone). My brother and I ended up getting full-suspension bikes and my Fiance got a nice hard tail, the service was top-notch (even if you weren't to consider the covid 19 situation, top notch) from the phone to pickup when we had to get some accessories. I'm pretty sure I will be as into this sport as I am with my other extreme hobbies, and if so I will be back with thousands more to happily throw at them. read more
