When I picked up the bikes, the staff were all super nice and helpful with getting bike ready to go. They don't rush in getting all the paperwork done and made sure I was comfortable with the hike before I rode to back to my hotel. Highly recommended for any rentals and they have a lot of decently priced parts if you need to replace anything.

I bought my bike here, and after a front wheel/tire failure caused a crash, I went through a Giant warranty claim with Montlake. The product side eventually got resolved, but dealing with them was frustrating from start to finish -- and the real problem wasn't the logistics, it was the attitude. From the beginning, I got the clear sense the shop saw me as an inconvenience rather than a customer. Communication was poor across essentially everyone I dealt with: no timely updates, no callbacks, no straight answers, and I was the one chasing them at every step. If, however, you have a questionably overpowered long-tail cargo bike running a custom Bafang BBSHD mid-drive setup that may or may not have been engineered during a caffeine-fueled "more capability and power is always a good idea" phase... these are your people. I rolled in with what can only be described as a mechanical riddle wrapped in an enigma of wiring harnesses and torque sensors. My Bafang BBSHD setup had become inhabited by a small tribe of mean spirited electrical gremlins. I'm capable with bike mechanics, but this had gotten over my head - I was bracing for a massive bill (maybe significant part replacements). Instead, the team at Alki Bike & Board just... handled it. Calmly. Confidently. No drama. No upsell. Just pure competence. The bill was less than 1/10 what I had expected. This crew is overseen by a guy called Dayton - I'm not sure if he is more Thor or Hercules. On one hand, he seems like he could summon lightning directly into a mid-drive motor. On the other hand, he has the calm, slightly amused strength of someone who has already defeated twelve labors involving stripped bolts and cross-threaded bottom brackets. Either way, the man is operating on a different plane. He diagnosed the issues quickly, explained everything in plain English (instead of "mystical bike wizard dialect"), and fixed the whole situation for a small fraction of what I was mentally preparing to pay. I didn't believe him when he told me. Bottom line: Extremely knowledgeable Honest pricing No ego, no attitude Dayton = certified bike demi-god If you are near West Seattle and your bike needs anything beyond a gentle pat on the saddle, this is the spot. 10/10. The pickup and drop-off part of this service is AMAZING, especially for someone with a busy schedule! They scheduled pick up at my house within a week despite having a high demand for wedding dress cleaning at the time, and sent me an update about what they were planning to do once they had their wedding dress expert take a look at the dress. Their turnaround time was much faster than I expected and they even sent pictures right after the cleaning was finished so I could see how well it came out! I had not requested a steaming since I didn't have plans to use the dress again anytime soon, but they did one complimentary for me which made the dress look absolutely stunning and like it was brand new. There was not a single residual stain left and the dress did not smell like anything - it was just perfectly clean. The final cost of the cleaning was exactly what I expected from the quote and I felt it was incredibly reasonable for the amount of cleaning they had to do, the speed and very high quality of service, and the helpful communication throughout the process. I was 100% satisfied with the end result and would absolutely recommend their services to anyone!

I recently moved to Los Angeles and found a new dry cleaners down the street from me that charged me half the cost for the same items which was refreshing. I thought of this place and wanted to leave a review to warn people how bad this was. These people were hostile, defensive, and greedy. They kept on hassling me about my clothes and texting me for approval for new costs. The texting person gave me an estimate and sent me like over 10 photos of my clothes to point out all the stains and hair that was on my clothes and repeatedly told me my clothes were wrinkled and very dirty. This was unnecessary and made me feel attacked and shamed. Like WTF?? I just wanted them to clean my clothes not pick faults with me! Instead, they acted like they were taking me to court! So much unnecessary stress and hassle for dry cleaners! They ended up charging me over $50 more than originally estimated because my clothes were oh so hard to clean and so dirty. Despite going over the original estimate, they still hassled and tried to guilt me for tip at the end saying they gave me a deal. What deal? Your services are super expensive! The tone they texted me was just so very rude it's like they didn't want me as a customer. I never fought them on the expensive costs but they were hostile from the start. I ended up going back to my previous dry cleaners, City Custom Tailor & Dry Cleaners in Belltown. They are not cheap either, but a little less expensive and they are chill. I do not think cheap dry cleaning exists in Seattle but this service sucks.

I also got the living social deal - and Andy, one of the co-founders, let me know that since they were over-booked (and I had waited until the last minute) they had worked with Living Social to honor all deals even past the expiration date. So no need to complain to Living Social when MBR is already doing the right thing for their customers! I brought my bike in this morning - we switched dates a lot as a result of my schedule changing and they were ever flexible. And then they drove the bike back to my office 3 hours later - I didn't even have to pick it up! I was very happy with the tune up and look forward to this summer when they'll be doing tunes at my office as well. I know that if I have any issues with the tune that I can bring it in and they will fix it free of charge but I don't expect anything to go wrong - it's just a simple tune up. I'd get my bike tuned with them again. read more

My experience with MBR emphasizes the Rescue portion of the name: Andy saw me trying to diagnose a jammed drivetrain mid-commute (for both of us), pulled over, and came up just as I was removing a broken chain. He threw my bike on his rack, brought it to one of the mechanics, and by noon I had a cleaned chain re-installed and a quick tune-up. They even transferred the bike from the mobile station to the brick-and-mortar for pick-up, kept me apprised of location and status, and emailed me an invoice, all while I went about my work day. So far, the tune is good, and like any good shop they emphasized that I should come back if I experience any derailleur roughness in the next couple weeks. read more

We used Mobile Bicycle Rescue for a full tune up on our commuter bike. The whole experience was spectacular. They were prompt and courteous when they returned my call to set up the appointment. We were extremely happy with the value of the service they provided. We even had one small issue and they promptly fixed that for us at no extra charge. I have to name MBR as my favorite bike shop right now...I first worked with them last fall when I decided to get two bikes ready to sell at the bike swap... I heard back from then in minutes and got both bikes repaired that night. We have been beyond happy with the Packster we bought from Dandelion. It is just way more fun to…read moreride a bike than drive a car. I did not realize how quickly bikes can get around Seattle compared to cars (bike infrastructure is getting better every year and skipping traffic and parking is a major advantage). The big ol box and the cargo motor make it easy to carry lots of stuff. I ride my wife in the box to Cap Hill for date nights, wife + kid to Madrona Park for beach days, kid + groceries, etc. I now go weeks at a time without driving our car. The folks at Dandelion have been super helpful and responsive. Our Packster had a defective part that needed to be replaced (for free, under warranty) and needed to be shipped from Germany. I must have been visibly stressed as I walked out of the shop (not looking forward to juggling drop offs for two kids with one car) because Tyler ran out after me and offered to let me borrow one of the demo bikes until our bike was fixed. I don't know of another bike shop that would let you walk out with a bike like that and hold it for weeks. It totally saved our bacon and was much appreciated. In summary: ditch the car, get a cargo bike because it's better. Get it at Dandelion because they'll take care of ya.

I recently had the bicycle serviced at a local bicycle store for some fine tuning of the derailleur that was a little beyond my ability. When I went to pick up the bike, the owner of the shop said, "Sorry, Jay, we are not returning this bike." "What do you mean...?," I replied. "This bike is just so comfortable, so light, so effortless to ride...we are keeping it for ourselves." This is quite a compliment as it comes from a shop in a large city (Houston) that specializes in high end bicycles. But they are exactly right. The ride is just magical on this bicycle. 2. The bicycle has S&S couplers that enable me to travel effortlessly with it. I recently returned from the Five Boroughs Bicycle ride in New York City, and had a question while reassembling the bicycle about the placement of one of the bearings in the headset - it had slipped off in the travel case (my fault). Within a half hour of asking the question by email, I had my answer. Their mechanical guy, Alder, is super responsive and an encyclopedia of information. FYI, Smiley nailed my fit to a T, even though I did this at a distance (I'm in Texas, R&E is in Seattle). These guys are just terrific!

After spending a fair amount of time fixing the dent and assuring things were good I pulled out my card to pay. He refused to take it and said he "just wanted me to be safe.
