When I got home, I couldn't risk bringing my suitcases into my house, so I emptied everything into sealed garbage bags and took the luggage and my laptop case straight to the trash. Location, location, location!! This hotel is in a perfect place to rest from Disneyland. The receptionist was very courteous and the place over all was clean and welcoming. We arrived late at night and thankfully even for being on the main street, behind Disney it was still peaceful. We booked by calling, king bed 2 adults $69.99 plus taxes ins May 2013. Check in was courteous and room was basic modern with fridge, microwave and tube TV. Free wifi. About a 15-20 min walk to Disneyland, if you are looking to walk less maybe check out the Ramada Maingate (have not stayed there) but noticed it as I walked to and from the Alpine Inn. read more

Front desk very friendly and right around the corner from Disneyland. I few things disappointed me. Housecleaning, first night was perfect, I always leave a tip. Second night, room wasn't cleaned when we got back around 5, strange thing is, towels we gone but room wasn't cleaned. Went to front desk and they said that's how they do it, they pick up the towels and clean later. I said why wasn't our room cleaned, he looked on his chart and it said, do not disturb was on door, I said no it wasn't and if it was, why were our towels taken, housecleaning entered our room. So the next 4 days NO TIP. They say free breakfast but it's only muffins and cereal. Needs were comfy and the carpets were dirty. Rates were cheap. Our original plans of where we were going to stay during our trip to Anaheim didn't go as planned, so 3 days before we were scheduled to leave, I had to call around last minute and get pricing. The objective was that since we were originally going to be staying with family for free, we hadn't even planned on spending money on hotel stay. So, basically, we had to find the cheapest place as possible, but with my pickyness, it had to be decent and clean and preferably as close to the Anaheim Convention Center as possible. Also, we needed a microwave and mini-fridge in the room as well since we brought our snacks and would be there for nearly 3 days. (Helloo!!! We're on a budget!) With my trusty AAA tour book by my side, I called numerous hotel/motels to get pricing. I saw the small ad for the Alpine Inn in the tour book and called. Although Missy wasn't too friendly on the phone, the Alpine Inn ended up having the cheapest rates (the AAA rate was $74.99 for Thursday night and $82.99 for Friday and Saturday nights). Plus they were located directly across the street from the Convention Center- easy walking distance. Talk about good deal! Since we were limited on funds, I booked the Alpine although to be honest, I was a little apprehensive. I'm accustomed to staying at very decent (and sometimes posh) hotels. I'm not really a "motel" kind of gal, but considering the money situation, we didn't really have a choice. As long as it was clean, that's all that mattered to me. I confirmed our reservation the night before we were to leave and reminded them that we were driving down late so we probably wouldn't get there until 2 or 3am. We did end up arriving at about 3:30am. We drove in and parked by the office. The parking lot was packed. The front door to the office was locked and there was a "No Vacancy" sign, but I rang the doorbell and less than a minute later, one of the hotel staff sleepily walked to door and let me in. He asked if I had a reservation and I said "Yes, my name is Christine" and he said "ah yes, right here" and there on the desk, was our paperwork to the side. They remembered and were expecting us to arrive late! Yay!! I didn't get the gentleman's name, but he was very friendly and said that although the parking lot was full, there was a spot for us. After unloading the car and parking, we settled into our room. The motel is small, 2 stories with stairs only- no elevator. Our room was on the 2nd level. The room was VERY CLEAN! We asked for a room with 1 king size bed. I was very pleased to find such a clean room. Both the sleeping area and the bathroom were clean. The room was basic as could be, but it was clean and that's all I cared about. Surprisingly, the bathroom counter was granite. Yay! You get what you pay for. And although that was probably the cheapest that I've ever spent on a motel/hotel stay, I was content with the Alpine Inn. The rooms were clean. The location was perfect since I was attending a convention across the street at the Anaheim Convention Center and it was within walking distance to the Disneyland Resort. Would I stay here again? Sure! When you go down to Anaheim, you're not there to hang out in the hotel room, so why pay an arm and a leg. This motel is rated 2 diamonds in the AAA Tour Book and I have no complaints about it. p.s. There is a continental breakfast, but nothing at all to rave about. It was the lowest of the continental breakfast that you could possibly get. The offered a variety of Svenhardt's danish and coffee and orange juice (which was really weak!). Could be 3.5. The closest and cheapest motel to Anaheim Convention Center. I'd like to think of it as a very expensive parking spot. For me, it was not noisy. The desk clerk, I believe his name was Rudy, was very helpful and when I asked him for a quiet room, put me upstairs in the back. There were no children in the pool. For God's sake it's 65 degrees. FYI. It does appear the swimming pool does have a handicapped lift to help people in and out of the pool. *Free WiFi that's a big one with me. *TV was poor to fair, old school TVs with grainy images, but Why are you in Anaheim? Hopefully not to watch TV. *No heater in the bathroom, but at 65 degrees I might get over it. *Hair dryer...A big +++worked as a heater. *Free parking and you are assured you will have a parking space if you go out and return. That's a big ++ *Microwave and Refrigerator.. Didn't use them, didn't look at them. --The breakfast. Coffee was so bad I gave it back to him. Bring your own coffee maker or coffee filter or go to Starbucks. They did have hot water. When i Put the "coffee" in my cup I could see the bottom of the cup. "If this is coffee bring me tea, If this is tea bring me coffee." unclear on the concept.. *The shower was not a shower lovers' shower. I told the guy at the desk they need to look at it...Step one, wrap a plastic bag around the head and soak the head in CLR or Lime away. The tub filled up with water, perhaps that was my misunderstanding, not so pleasant.. Others have said this place was noisy. It was not for me. As quiet as my home in the burbs. I did not get the sense the walls were thin. I slept well. *the mattress..when I sat down on the edge of the bed it was like sitting on a wire but the inner part of the mattress was not bad. The 4 pillows each bed were a plus...and believe me, I did look at the sheets for bed bug blood stains and other people's hair before I turned in. There were no signs of other occupants.. read more

A nice basic hotel that is about a 15 minute walk from the Disneyland entrance. The rooms are nice, beds are comfy, parking included, wifi, air con with basic fridge/microwave/coffee. We got a family suite which is probably like a standard 2 bedroom with another bedroom attached with its own TV. The only downside was the shared bathroom with only one entrance, it didn't become an issue but would be nice to have a separate entrance to the bathroom for the second bedroom. The breakfast was basic but great for what it is there for, some quick easy sustenance to grab before hitting up Disneyland. There was coffee/tea, yoghurt, pastries/muffins and cereal. This certainly was a bargain buy, but it's exactly what we had expected, and what we had paid for. My friend and I stayed here for one night, while visiting Disneyland to celebrate our birthdays. We knew we wanted to stay somewhere relatively cheap, that was within walking distance of the parks. My friend - who is as big of a Disney freak as me - typically stays at another boutique hotel close to the park's entrance, but that hotel was booked at the time of our visit, so we did a quick round of research, and ended up booking the Alpine Inn. Again, it's a no-frills hotel, but it was perfect for our night. We got to Anaheim around 11 am, and pulled into the hotel parking lot to check in. They didn't have a room available for us just then, but they provided us with a parking pass (parking is free, which is a nice bonus) and allowed us to stay in the lot while we spent the majority of the day at the parks. Our room was on the first floor, which was nice, as we didn't have to lug all our bags up a flight of stairs. (You'd be surprised the amount of stuff two girls brought for an overnight stay. But, in our defense, we had our regular clothing, plus all our hair and make-up gear, plus clothing for our fancy celebration dinner, plus snacks and drinks and...well, you get the idea). WiFi is free and provided on check-in, and it's about what you'd expect for free WiFi. Not the best connection, but it at least allowed me to get online to stream music while we were getting ready for the night and the next day. The beds are comfortable enough, and the room had a mini fridge and a desk. There was a window in the bathroom (toilet and shower), which always freaks me out, *especially* when the room is on the ground floor. But, the bathroom was clean, and the shower had decent water pressure. The carpet was a little grimy, which made my toes curl a bit. We had socks on and they came away black after walking around getting ready for the day, so that's something to keep in mind. There was a remarkable lack of outlets near the beds, which was disappointing for those of us that tend to plug in phones and tablets and such before going to sleep. We were able to find a couple outlets (with broken and half-attached covers) behind the beds, but one shouldn't have to work so hard to find a power source when one is getting ready for bed. At any rate, it was a decent and cheap stay, made all the better by the super friendly front desk clerk, who made it a point to wish us both a happy birthday, and to offer us any help we might need to make our stay more magical. I am very disappointed in this motel. I purchased a room for myself and a family suite for my son and his family,well over $1000. The front desk told him he couldn't leave his car on day of check out in the lot and turned him and family out. They ended up paying to park at Disneyland. One of the points of staying here was free parking and walking to the park. This was a cheep,cheep shot at a paying customer that might have come back here. It is possible to walk to Disneyland in 15-20 minutes and you don't have to pay to park. 2. Starbucks is within walking distance, along with the "GardenWalk" area which has Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, Johnny Rockets, etc. Cons: 1. The bathroom was slightly gross. The tile looked very dirty. I didn't want to be in there with my shoes off. 2. Our toilet handle kept messing up and you had to hold it down to flush. 3. You can easily hear the people in the next room 4. The hotel is seriously right beside the park but you have to literally walk a mile around to get into the entrance. It's kind of annoying. 5. From the very beginning of the check in process, to getting checked out, the word "impressed" is far from my mind. At check in, I was waiting to be helped when a couple came rushing in and said that after it took over 20 minutes for them to check in, they got to their room only to find their room filthy and unmade. The clerk apologized as if he didn't care. For my check in, the clerk was not incompetent or anything, but as I was being checked in, two homeless people came in asking for a room. It was a big turn off for me. Another thing, I didn't know until check in that they wanted a $50 deposit for "just in case it smells like smoke when you check out". Um, wait. What? That wasn't cool to find out as I'm tiredly waiting for my key. Once I got to my room, I realized that it was mostly clean. . .ish. It wasn't clean like the clean you get at JW Marriott or Hilton Hotels. But it was mostly clean. There was hair of very different color in the bathtub. Gross. The "conditioning shampoo" (2-in-1) looked like it was left over from the last guest and then another new bottle was left next to it. The lotion was definitely not a new bottle. Ew. There were crumbs on the chairs (maybe there were kids that used the room before me) and little scraps of paper on the TV stand. The wall AC unit was off initially and the room was like a sauna. Cranked it up and it cooled down in about an hour. Then had to up the temperature because it was almost too cold. At least that AC worked well. Checkout was relatively quick. I doubt I would stay here again unless it is a last resort sort of thing. OK if you're really in a pinch. read more

We just had our first stay at the Alpine Inn during our visit to Disneyland. I will say that everyone working in the front office was very polite and kind. The room was very basic, not necessarily a bad thing. I found the bed to be miserably uncomfortable. The sheets were very clean. The towels were very clean but also extremely stiff and scratchy. The refrigerator didn't exactly keep things cold. We had two rooms, a joining. Our second room had roaches in the bathroom and the TV only worked the first night. On the upside, it was low priced, not terribly far from Disneyland. It was worth a try, I doubt I would stay here again based entirely on the fact that the beds were so miserable. All of the other ancillary items aren't a big deal in the broad scheme of things (at this price point) because we basically showered and slept there. read more

I have stayed in almost EVERY hotel surrounding Disneyland and California Adventure. This place is my go to for several reasons. It is reasonable, clean and close to the parks. Parking can be tight but I have never not been able to find a space. Staff are always courteous and helpful, especially Kevin at the front desk, he always reminds me to book directly with the hotel for the best price and he has never been wrong. If you want luxury, stay at the Grand Californian and pay $600 a night. If you're going to spend most of your time at the parks, stay here, you won't be sorry. read more

Fantastic hotel. They upgraded us for free to a family suite which was a nice surprise upon checking in. That meant that each of our kiddos got their own beds and we had a separate room with a king bed in it for us. Separate AC units in each space and televisions as well was a nice touch. Parking wasn't an issue for us but we leave the parks typically an hour prior to closing so that could be why. The free breakfast was sufficient and fresh. My girls each had a yogurt, a muffin, and a box of cereal. They had coffee, cocoa, tea, orange juice, and milk as well as fresh fruit, lots of great choices! The front desk staff was helpful and friendly and housekeeping was also very good and efficient. The only thing I would say is that they should consider ripping out all of the carpet and putting in a hardwood-look vinyl or something easy to clean as the carpets were quite dirty. For the money, you can't beat this hotel! I stayed at the Alpine Inn when I was a teen, years ago, and they have definitely improved, though it was nice even back then. You get free parking, free wifi, free breakfast, spacious, clean rooms, you're only a short walk to the park, and again..the price is great! It's sad to me the the supposed 5 star resorts charge you for every single thing including parking (upwards of $20 a day for that!), at least one hotel is still trying to help families save a little money in a very expensive town. I haven't checked in for an overnight stay, but a tour of the facilities and guest room pleasantly surprised me. Many of the somewhat older hotels in Anaheim have fallen into disrepair and that is what I would have expected from the Alpine Inn. The rooms are standard in size and furnishing and while the carpet could stand to be replaced, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is close enough for families on vacation to walk to Disneyland, potentially eliminating the need for a rental car and saving $20 per day on theme park parking. The Alpine theme is cute and kids love the fake snow and icicles. The best kind of snow is Southern California "snow" on a sunny winter day. read more

We originally wanted to stay at the Candy Cane Inn, but the demand over there was too high, and the prices made the Hilton look affordable. My next choice was the Alpine Inn. I found a room for two nights on a busy summer weekend for a somewhat reasonable price( still a little expensive) $150/night. This is a nice, quaint little motel about 15 minute walking distance from Disneyland. The back of California Adventure's "Radiator Springs Racers" is literally right behind the Alpine Inn. The walk isn't too tiring after a long day at the park, so you can save some money on Uber if you travel on foot. The room is pretty basic with a small fridge, microwave, somewhat comfortable beds and all the necessary shower essentials. There is free wi-fi and free parking which was a plus. The continental breakfast isn't really breakfast; the coffee was watered down and the only food was some instant oatmeal, small assorted cereals with box milks, apples and oranges. Definitely nothing special. I also think the ice machine cost money. At least they provide something, so I gotta give them credit for that. **Tip #1 : Bring your own shampoo, soap and conditioner as theirs is very basic. Tip #2: Bring a power strip to charge your phones and devices. I had problems finding outlets, especially by the bed. If you have a small extension cord, it will be best. Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Alpine Inn. Definitely not a Hyatt, but it got the job done. I liked how the front desk was right by the main busy road. This was comforting because you feel safe knowing the front desk staff are aware of anyone who could possibly loiter or roam onto the property. We loved our stay at the Alpine Inn for a five night Disney trip. We picked it because our daughter loves frozen and we are so glad we did! It was excellent, very comfortable, easy walk to the park, love the staff, quiet and very safe feeling. It backs onto the park which adds a sense of being at a Disney hotel. The walk was shady and close enough that we ended up coming back for naps then returning to the park later. The microwave fridge and coffee maker make the stay very comfortable. I liked having a back window to allow air flow from front to back of room. TL;DR: Close to the cross walk to the convention center, rooms were clean, simple breakfast. Cost: We went during the Star Wars Celebration and hotel prices were $200 a night for other places. The Alpine Inn Day total was $187 per day (includes tax) Breakfast: OJ, Granola Bars, Breakfast Bars, Pastries, Box donuts (crumb, powder sugar, chocolate), Cereal with milk, and coffee. Amenities: Pool, not much else. I didn't really sweat it. If you're staying at this place you're going to the local attractions and using this place to crash so you're refreshed for another adventure. Parking: Free for 1 car. If you have another car, and there's parking in the lot it costs $15 a day. Management: My experience with the management was very nice. Rudy was very helpful and accommodating to our parties needs. I made the reservations, but they allowed my friend to check in before me. In addition, they allowed us to split the bill up between my friend and I. Location: Location location location. This place is very close to the convention center, and there's a cross walk with in a few yards of the entrance. In relation to Disney Land, the Alpine Inn is about the same distance to the main entrance and The monorail one. 7 eleven is convient if you need to get something small, however if you need something more specific there is a 24 hour CVS across the street. read more

We planned a very last minute trip to Disneyland during Spring Break when most hotels were sold out or out of our price range for a more expensive suite. Found this place with good reviews online and decided to try it for 3 nights. We arrived at 10am prepared to drop our luggage and head back out. What a surprise that our room was ready and were given the keys !! The room is basic and the beds a little firm for my taste. The coffee maker and fridge are a huge bonus. There is a 7-11 right on the corner to fill up un water and other basics that are cheaper then buying at the parks. Don't count on the breakfast to fill you up. Just small basic packaged pastries. My kids got a kick out of the fact they even put out packed cupcakes as well in the morning. It's an easy 15 minute walk to the gates (we timed ourselves every morning) of Disneyland and California Adventure. Don't book this hotel with expectations of staying at a higher class hotel but you can't go wrong if you're on a budget. read more

This is the cutest hotel in the Disneyland area, and the perfect place to stay when visiting the parks to see the holiday decorations! It's a fabulous little midcentury building on the outside, and a CLEAN, comfortable, newly remodeled place to stay on the inside. The room we had was freshly renovated, with new beds, new bathroom fixtures, new flooring, new everything. I'm really impressed by how new and clean everything was. The bed I slept in was so comfortable! In the morning, there's a free continental breakfast in the lobby area, that includes cereals, muffins, yogurt, milk, juice, and coffee. Derrick at the front desk was friendly and helpful, and even let us check in early because the room was ready when we got there. The walk to Disney is about 15 minutes, and the ART bus drops off nearby. All in all, an excellent stay at a cute property with friendly staff. read more

Yes it's older Yes it's a simple breakfast But - for the price we paid - we are so happy. Clean! Great Location! Great Staff! Fridge & microwave, new tv's, pool, free parking, free wifi with an actual signal - they let us check in early, we parked the car on the last day while we went to the park... Perfect little motel. New furnishings definitely helped. 7-11 is a few steps away with great pricing on snacks and liquor, Subway $5 footlongs... Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen just down the street. Our friends stayed right at maingate, paid $20 more a night, had to pay extra for parking, resort fee, etc... yes we had to walk an extra 10 mins, but we don't have kids, so it was a lovely walk to and from the parks. My advice, sleep with the fan on. Blocks out noise from around the motel at night, we didn't hear a thing, and slept really well. Do not stay here if you're a hotel snob. This is not a fancy hotel - this is a perfect budget motel that is now our favourite place to stay while visiting the parks. read more

This is a cute and quiet place to stay, and about a 10 minute walk from the Disneyland park main entrance. My family and I stayed here on a recent trip to Disneyland. It was also within walking distance to some restaurants and convenience stores. The main office building is decorated with cute fake icicles and snow on the exterior. It was definitely one of the cheaper options with friendly staff. Not to mention the rooms were very clean and free wifi and parking! We arrived at the Alpine Inn on Friday for President's weekend. The prices for the weekend were reasonable considering the going rate around Disneyland during this particular weekend. The amenities here are limited, but what you are really paying for is the location. The staff that we dealt with were friendly and check in / check out were both smooth with no surprises. The beds here are so so, but Queen sized (In the 2 bed rooms) which is nice since a lot of the Motels in the area have smaller beds. The free continental breakfast is very low key. Some fruits, coffee, juice, 3 kinds of cereal and a few kinds of breakfast bars. Not much to fill up on, but good for grab and go if you are heading to the park. My feeling was that the free parking and free wi-fi made up for the breakfast. The lobby and property in general are small, so a huge breakfast spread should not be expected. Again you are paying for location here. The walking distance to the Disney parks is very reasonable and there is a 7-11 just yards away to meet your snacking needs. If you are trying to save on dining in the parks there is a Subway, Mexican Food and Pizza Place across the nearest cross street. The pool was pretty warm, which was a huge hit for my 2 year old daughter. This made nap time very easy as we let hew swim for an hour or so and then went off to bed. I would return here again, although I think your best value here is for multiple day stays since you do not get the benefit of the walking distance to Disneyland if you're only staying overnight. The convention center is also right across the street if you are heading there. If there are shortcomings here it is just that the property is old and simple. The beds are nothing to write home about. The bathroom is small and some things like the towels are obviously worn. All that said, our family was very happy with our stay here. read more

This was the first time we stayed at this hotel. It is very cute. Very nostalgic. Our room was on the second floor. From the bathroom window you could see the back end of Radiator Springs Racers. You could hear the cars zooming by and excited screams from park goers. You could also see the Guardians of the Galaxy ride as well. Now back to the room. It was recently updated. New floors, countertops and bedding. The room had 2 down sides for me. The first was the shower head had bad water pressure even though the tub spout had great water pressure. Second was one of my pillows smelled like B.O. I did not use that pillow. Hopefully they wash them. Breakfast was served from 7am- 9:30am. It consisted of muffins, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, milk, juice and yogurt. Not too bad. Better than nothing. I wish they would serve breakfast earlier considering most park goers are trying to get through security by 7am. Overall it was a very good stay. Reasonably priced and close to the park entrance. Our walk was only 20 minutes and that was us not running. I would definitely consider staying there again. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the Alpine. I found the room exceptionally clean with above standard amenities (fridge and microwave). The office was stocked extra early pastries, cereal, coffee, juice and fresh fruit to accommodate people participating in the Disney Marathon. They have a night security guard walking the grounds to provide some peace of mind. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was smooth and fast. About 3/4 mile walk to Downtown Disney and the theme parks. read more
