Loved this place from the second I stepped in. A little pricy but the coffee is great (and they use Oatly!) and the place is beautiful. Food looked amazing on other's plates (didn't have any myself). Great place to work with good WiFi and outlets everywhere. Can get a little loud but I didn't experience it as being too bad at all. Good music too! read more

Awesome coffee selection and they have good breakfast as well if you're looking for something on the lighter side. I had the smoked salmon toast which was fresh and tasty. Great morning stop for coffee and pastries. Tried the yummy avocado toast. Place was busy with people on computers.

This shop came heavily recommended by a barista at a shop in Colorado Springs and we were so excited to try it! The 4 of us were traveling all day and walked in this cute little shop at 5:19. The barista half-heartedly greeted us and asked what we were looking for. When I asked for a pour-over, she unapologetically let me know that they didn't offer pour-overs and she was all closed up for the day and couldn't offer anything for us. When I asked for something simple like drip coffee or cold brew, she continued to shake her head and then corrected herself and said she could give us cold brew. While checking me out, she rudely let us know that they closed at 5:30 and that next week they'd start closing at 4. Keep in mind, the whole time she was speaking it wasn't even 5:23. I work in the coffee industry and understand the inconveniences of the last minute straggler, but if you close at 5:30, you can't cut corners and deter paying customers because of your own laziness. read more

Sadly, no consistency in the espresso. Bitter at least 75% of the time. Sure, "let us know", etc, but the whole idea of walking 5 mins to the coffee shop to relax for a minute is to NOT have to complain and deal with such things. So, again, sadly...I'm out. read more

Wonderful place. Good selection and very tasty avocado toast. I haven't been back in boulder for a while due to college but I almost wish I went to CU just so I could use their free wifi. 189 mbps and three different free networks is nothing to sniff at. Service was also very fast and friendly despite being busy. Only downside is parking but that's to be expected around here. Definitely coming back next time I'm in town. read more

I actually love this place when I come into town to visit my daughter. But my last visit (a week ago)was not memorable, we stopped in for our usual flat white cappuccino/latte and lite breakfast only to find out they were out of cream! Out of Cream for coffees! If you are a person who drinks there coffee with cream, milk is NOT going to taste good. -we took two sips and got up and left. Money wasted. (Daughter tells me after we received that they're out of cream. She said, 'they haven't received their delivery') Day 2 - next day- my last day in town, we have enough time to stop for a coffee and breakfast before I head back to the airport. I walked up and place our order and the counter girl says, "I'm sorry, we are out of cream. We are still waiting for our delivery." I reply, "You didn't have cream yesterday and now you're saying you still don't have cream for Coffee? No one (the manager or owner) has gone to the store to get some, you're a coffee house?" The two girls looked at each other and said, "we are not allowed to." ...what! As a former restaurant manager, this to me is unacceptable. And personally sounds idiotic. Is this not a place of service? This kind of stuff gives the service industry a bad name, I'm just saying. We left and went to BoxCar Cafe. Again normally, this is one of my favorite coffee places, I had to comment due to two days in row for 'lack of service.' Thanks for reading this far... read more

Place is full of computer geeks buying nothing so that might be why the prices are high. Or why the college type geeks are buying little. Being used like a Starbucks!! So not sure how well they do. Food Is "ok". Not memorable. read more

Love this place- took off one star since I think everything is just a little pricier than it should be and the chocolate croissant wasn't probably worth the calories since it fell apart so much. But I love the fire pit and blankets to cozy up in. Lattes are good and enjoyed hearing Pirates of Caribbean soundtrack being played on my last visit. Also cute bathroom tile. read more

I was in town and thought I'd give this place a try. The ambiance of the place is really nice. It has great seating inside and out. Why I gave it only two stars was the service and selection was poor. I waited in line patiently while the people in front of me ordered slowly and confused. The staff seemed frustrated with their customers and didn't acknowledge the line of people waiting. When I finally got in place to order there was no care if I was there or not. In this day and age, customer service rules. I'd rather go where I'm appreciated and service with a smile. read more

A year later, a totally friendly guy who really​ wanted to speak Spanish with us claimed he knew exactly what a cortado is (it's what we drink in Chile: same amounts of espresso, usually two shots, and steamed milk. If you​ get asked, "what size," leave immediately). Sorry dude, but you​ didn't execute​ it according to plan, it was way overdone, milk wise. (He used one​ of those automatic espresso drink makers and also a real espresso machine, to steam all the extra milk. Cost, about​ $2.50, much less than the local hoity-toity​ espresso joints.) Seems like a lovely spot, huge menu, it was a blissfully quiet Saturday evening pre-winter-semester, not sure I'd want to go to it on a "normal" Saturday, though maybe it'd be fun. read more

Pros: Very pretty space. Ultra slick coffee and espresso systems. Cons: Very expensive. My drinks have always tasted good and have been warm enough but not quite as hot as I'd like, but my boyfriends mochas are consistently cool. Mega-lame on timing and temperature. They are doing that irritating thing where they measure the weight of the milk before they make EVERY SINGLE drink. This slows the process down too much and honestly, how much money does it save them a day? Maybe the price of a gallon of milk? For the inconvenience the customer has to deal with and the price that they're charging for the drinks already (which is much higher than anywhere else in town) it doesn't seem worth the energy investment. Maybe they'll lose five dollars a day by not measuring out every single drop of product like a Scrooge but I do believe would make customers in a hurry happier and they'll make up for it in the long run. And keep that steaming wand in the milk another ten seconds...PLEASE! read more

I love coming here to splurge $20 on some egg toast and coffee. I honestly really do! It's a treat for me because the egg tartine is literally to die for, and the coffee keeps me going all day long. But today, I came with my computer and asked if they could turn on the plug so I could charge my computer while I sat outside. The lady working was so rude, and told me "find another plug" which there are none. Sad to say that they can't accomodate a loyal customer... Sorry, but won't be coming here again. I am divided as to whether I feel this place is a pretentious, overpriced hipster hang out, or a hip, urban, tastefully done café. I've eaten here once for breakfast and once for lunch, and find the food always well prepared and delicious but exceptionally small portions that don't amount to a full meal, leaving me unsatiated in the end. read more

Alpine Modern is in a great spot just off the Hill. The drinks are excellent and I was very pleased with the selection of loose leaf teas. If you're on the Hill looking for a good tea or coffee, this is your spot. However, it's a treat coming here because where the shop loses me a little is that they don't take cash, their service feels slightly disconnected, and their prices are steep. I really appreciate the fresh food menu but I just can't afford the food here. Atmosphere is very calm and while a great place to stop by in the summer, be prepared to battle college students for a seat during college fall and spring sessions. I love the environment of Alpine Modern. Nice baristas, lots of natural light, and cozy seating. The fire pit outside is nice for chatting as well as getting stuff done. Sometimes during peak hours it is hard to find a spot inside, however you can usually find seating outside at the large tables/fire pit area. read more

Newly opened and such an incredible atmosphere - the modern design, beautiful furniture and outdoor space make this place so inviting! The coffee is spot on and there is the perfect amount of variety on the food front: breakfast, lunch and/or snacks. For folks that are working remotely/having meetings - the music is just loud enough to keep you productive but not overpowering so you can still have a phone/in person conversation and hear yourself :) The wifi works super fast and there are plenty of outlets to plug into - no need to hunt for tables "near outlets" - every spot has their own. Last but certainly not least - the owners are fantastic and know exactly what makes for the perfect cafe. You can tell how much time and thought went into each and every detail of this beautiful spot - I've found my new favorite spot in Boulder :) read more
