For whatever reason the altitude and I don't always get along, and that kept me from my morning coffee far too long. My colleague knew just what to do and we ended up at Creature Comforts. The Yuzu Espresso Tonic was absolutely exactly what I needed, so well made and so flavorful. The vibes in here are great as well. Relaxed but social, and positioned in a great area of Boulder (let's be real most areas of Boulder are great). I also got a late breakfast with a greek yogurt that was tasty and generous portion as well. Highly recommend, and I'd even go out of my way to seek this one out next time I'm in Boulder for work. Might be the cutest coffee shop I've ever seen. Bright, cozy, welcoming, spacious, and dog friendly. I would have happily visited creature comforts every morning I was in Boulder. My colleagues and I came here post-hike, looking for a coffee and some fuel and that's exactly what we got. I went with the Ube latte, m one of the specials, and it was so good! It had the perfect balance of sweetness, creaminess, and nuttiness thanks to the Ube flavor. My friend got the honey latte, which I tried and was also very delicious. The menu has lots of creative options. Another colleague I was with got the espresso tonic with Yuzu, which was another winner. We also tried some of the protein balls which were surprisingly delicious! The menu prices are slightly high, but because they are in no tipping café it evens out pretty nicely. If I'm ever back in Boulder, I will absolutely come back here! read more

See now this is the kind of coffee shop I'd dream of owning myself. Wow, how beautiful, welcoming, open and airy. The dozens of plants breath so much life into the space and the big windows/garage doors offer tons of natural light. Not to mention the bright colors splashed across the walls, and the fun furniture and decor. Can you tell I liked the vibe? And just as much liked my drink, too! My friends and I all got something different and each drink was prettier than the next. I had the salted honey latte (iced) and it was delightful - I love that sweet/savory combo. I tried my girlfriends ube latte too and yummm. They also have other goodies like mild bread toasts, breakfast paninis, fresh parfait, and various snackies. Couldn't help but grab the house-made sunflower protein balls at the cash register, and needless to say that was a good decision. I love this space! I came to sit and work for a bit and loved every minute of the light, airy and spacious location. The plants made it extra- amazing ! Boulder is home to a plethora of great cafes and coffee shops, and now I have to add Creature Comforts to the rotation. Talk about a hip, trendy, and laid back space with an action-packed menu of treats and bevvies. I only had a coffee while I was here, but it was tasty enough to rev my engines and propel me to a whole new level of caffeinated goodness. I've said it many times before, if there's an espresso tonic on the menu I will order it. Their take is sweetened with a little bit of yuzu, and yeehaw this was fantastic. Now they are operating as a "non-tipping cafe" and at first I rolled my eyes. But to be honest, knowing that they don't accept tips, I found the menu to be priced appropriately all around. Look we all know prices are ridiculous right now, however, I found that the amount we spent on all our items was on par to other cafes offering a similar, higher end experience. Kudos to a well thought out and unique menu. I mean, where else are you finding sweet miso matcha, five spice lattes, and furikake butter toasts?! My wife loved her latte and egg salad toast. Originally I was going to give them four stars instead of five, but I have no notes. Staff was personable, the space inviting, and everything we ordered was excellent. Wow! I stopped by Creature Comforts Cafe for an afternoon coffee, and I absolutely loved everything about it - from the interior to the taste of the drinks! Everything was cute and perfect. First of all, this is a no tipping café, which means they pay their workers a living wage and set their prices to do so. I absolutely think more establishment should follow suit. I ordered an iced salted honey latte and my partner had an iced sweet Ube latte. A lot of their drinks feature Asian flavors, for example they have a miso hot chocolate, five spice latte, black sesame latte - you get the picture. They also have a whole section dedicated to flavored matcha! I was happy to see they have a wide variety of caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks. Nondairy and alternative milks are available. I didn't try the food, but the menu looked amazing! They have a variety of sweet and savory milk bread toasts and sandwich paninis. There is an option to sub in gluten free and vegan bread. They have a mimosa on the menu so you could come here for a little breakfast, coffee, and a cocktail if you wanted. They also serve wine and beer. Really nice and modern feeling cafe. Very spacious and clean feeling decor. The people were super nice as well. The yuzu espresso tonic which is a signature was actually really good and that was my first time trying an espresso tonic. The yuzu flavor was actually pretty strong and it tasted nice. The blueberry lavender sage tea was unsweetened and tart. Very nice refreshing drink. The chocolate ginger pound cake that they source from bread works was pretty good. Was a it dry but not too sweet. Service was very friendly and quick. The prices here are a bit higher but they don't ask for tip since they include it in the prices of the drinks and food which is fine. read more

The atmosphere is relaxed and bright with lots of natural light, white walls accented with touches of forest green. There is a variety of seating options including bar stools, a community table, a couch, and long benches. A couple garage doors lead to a small patio. The menu offers coffee drinks, tea, beer and wine all day, with a limited selection of lunch items and a few desserts; the focus is on simplicity. I recently went for lunch with a few friends, and the food was good, light and fresh tasting. I love the attention to details, such as a the pretty bronze silverware, the handmade touch on the chai or cappuccino. It's also great that this place is tip-free; no more pressure to press a %25 button when it's time to pay. We need more businesses such as this one: woman-owned and locally sourced! read more

Such an aesthetic coffee shop. The vibes are unmatched, this is very much the kind of shop you sit down and read a book at. The staff are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. Very beautiful looking people too! I don't know the woman with the red hair but cute gal. Love her freckles. The food is very tasty and the coffee is 10x better than Starbucks, sorry starbie fans! The server with long dark hair and a tattoo on her right tricep left a lot to be desired. When we ordered, she was unresponsive and we couldn't tell if she was actually getting our order correct. We checked to make sure that she had down that we needed GF toast and she just kept blankly looking at us, so we were never sure if she made that note. She said it would be 15mins to make the goat cheese and cucumber toast. We said that's fine. It turned out that her bf was there and she wanted to spend time with him. She leaves the cafe and goes outside to be with him. The person (red head with freckles) making our coffees was very nice and got those out to us. Meanwhile, 35 mins later, the person that took our order comes back into the cafe with her bf and starts to make our toast. We see the barista say to her that we have been waiting a while. She responds that she told us we would have to wait and that she didn't care since she told us (she had this tough girl idgaf attitude about it). You could tell the barista was embarrassed. We never said anything to the barista, she just noticed us sitting there drinking our to-go coffees. 35 minutes was much longer than 15. Our coffees were empty by then. We confirmed one more time that it was GF and just smiled and grabbed our toast and left. Not going back. read more

Inside is like a children's cafe, but for adults. Half of the seating are small tables and chairs that appear for kids, so I wonder if they designed this for families. If not, they should bring in regular tables and chairs for more comfortable seating options. Food and drinks are fantastic. It takes a little longer to prepare than other cafes, but if you can wait, it's worth it. They have a ham and cheese sandwich that is quite amazing. read more

As I was looking for the yarn store today on the east end of Pearl, I saw this cafe and decided when I was done at the yarn store I would stop here for a treat. I had heard of the new cafe as it took quite a while to repurpose the closed former drugstore/pharmacy and the city had not been easy to respond for their permits. But the local owner persevered and the result is a beautiful cafe, with a few gift offerings. I decided on and iced tea and a pastry and they were fresh, appropriately priced and served with a smile. The cafe was spotless, with a few people using wifi in one area, a few on the east patio having refreshments and even the self clean up area kept neat. It was really nice to see they knew their costs, including the worth of the staff and do not ask for a tip, clearly stated on the pay screen. It's a good practice for others to follow. If you price your product according to tue costs, many customer will appreciate it and so will your customers. There is an area with small pieces of decor and clever bits, for sale. Perfect if you need a token gift for someone or a treat for yourself. I found the place very comfortable, even for a solo patron. read more

This cafe is super cute and trendy, and seemed very popular. We ordered the cucumber goat cheese toast and the cinnamon toast. The cucumber goat cheese toast could have been delicious, but there was way too much salt in the seasoning on top unfortunately. The cinnamon toast was almost impossible to eat - thick brioche bread that was super tough. The chai latte was delicious and service was friendly, just not sure it's worth it if you want a bite to eat. Each piece of bread came with a single strawberry as garnish. read more

The fact that you are so proud to call yourselves a " no tipping cafe" but you charge a sir charge of almost 20% ? Very misleading to begin with and not even allowing the customer to decide what they would like to tip if any. A 12oz matcha with almond milk was almost $10, very surprising! The man taking my order became rude by me just questioning your policy, in a calm fashion. The young lady making my matcha spilled the remnants of the last bag of matcha on the counter then proceeded to sweep it with her fingers off the work counter into a cup. No thank you! I left appreciating the coffee shop I normally go to Belleza! Service excellent, tip if you would like to, they pay their baristas a wage that values them as well.
