Stopped by The Frothy Cup and it ended up being such a cute spot. I got a lavender latte that was really good, and my friend got a smoothie that she liked too. It was pretty packed when we got there around 10am on Good Friday, so definitely seems like a popular place. They also have pastries and a few breakfast items, plus other assorted options, and I like that their baked goods are made in-house. The cashier we had was super friendly and even gave us some recommendations, which I appreciated. Overall, good coffee stop and I'd come back if I visit Idaho Springs again. read more

Very quaint coffee center in the middle of town. Went mid day and was still busy. Decided to try one of their specialty cold blended drinks called a white mocha javachino- it was very tasty and refreshing, but very sweet. They let you write a note and attach it to the wall to commemorate your visit. Would recommend you stop here to get your caffeine fix. You can't beat the small town charm! read more

After coming here a number of times each experience got better and better. The rustic mountain vibes set the mood as you walk through the shop to get to the counter to order your coffee (or drink). The staff is welcoming and warm and that matches the drinks that are made! For some reason I forgot what I ordered this last time. However, I do know it warmed my soul and was not overly sweet. The best touches to a drink on a day when the weather swayed back and forth. Will return on our next trip! read more

Stopped here before starting a hike. I don't drink coffee but I ordered the Day break smoothie with protein powder and a blueberry muffin. Both were delicious and everyone was so nice as I entered. They have seats and sofas which was nice and their decor was great! read more

I got the cinnamon stinger iced latte ($7)which was a cinnamon and honey latte. Staff were friendly in giving recommendations and explaining their drinks. The inside was very nice cozy. Drinks came out in 5 minutes and it was quite good. It had a good balance of cinnamon and honey flavor while not being too sweet. I would definitely come back again! The Frothy Cup is straight from a Hallmark movie. All of Idaho Springs, CO is really, but Frothy Cup really takes the cake. It's right on mainstreet of this adorable town so we decided to wander in. The inside of the shop is so cozy! The staff working was super welcoming and gave us some recommendations. I went with a frozen coffee per the staffs rec and it was SO GOOD! The one I got was called the white water rage which I think is just a blended vanilla coffee with milk. They topped it was whip cream and it tasted delicious. We also tried a blueberry muffin which was very good! I'm pretty sure I called my coffee 'heavenly' five times until my husband finally tried it and confirmed: HEAVENLY! Will be dreaming about my next visit to Idaho Springs and The Frothy Cup until I make the trip back! read more

A lovely coffee shop right in the heart of Idaho Springs. It's spacious and homey and the people are welcoming and friendly. I ordered the lavender honey bee latte special and it was incredibly delicious. The lavender was subtle and not at all perfumey as it sometimes can be and it was just the right amount of sweetness. I would happily order that every day. We tried the fresh baked blueberry muffin and it was super tasty. It does have a hint of lemon though (which my husband didn't like that much), but I loved it. A must stop whenever we're in Idaho Springs. read more

Love The Frothy Cup! Cute, cozy spot to grab a quick bite to eat before heading into the mountains. Staff is very friendly! My boyfriend got a breakfast burrito and it was HUGE, but delicious. First time at this coffee shop in Idaho Springs and had a decent experience. Felt very homey inside and had tons of coffee/pastry options. Got an iced vanilla latte and a smothered breakfast burrito, both were pretty good I do wish there was more sour cream on the burrito though as they put the smallest dollop possible. (Sour cream is cheap too, don't be stingy! Lol) I think this would have been a 4 or 5 star experience if not for the barista at the front. She was having trouble opening the pastry case and was being very loud and aggressive opening it. Seems to me they need to take a look and fix the case. We also saw her kill a fly with her bare hands and that was after we got our food. Maybe buy a fly swatter instead? I left there thinking that I hope she washed her hands afterwards before she dealt with more customers. read more

Turns out if you're driving to Steamboat from Denver and need great coffee with a side of Korean catholic nuns, The Frothy Cup is the perfect spot. After parking and strolling over, we were blessed to find a sweet group of Korean Catholic nuns sitting and enjoying some Java. They offered us a blessing and some recommendations on drinks. The place couldn't have been better- amazing coffee, friendly service, great pastries, a welcoming atmosphere and entertaining banter. Came in for a quick coffee on the way up to the slopes. I love getting the chance to stop here on the way into the mountains - it's such cozy and cute coffee shop! Ended up getting one of their April specials (lavender honeybee latte) in medium size - I love lavender and this was delicious (albeit a little expensive for a latte). Also got a maple pecan danish to go - very flaky, just came out of the oven 30 minutes prior. Flavor was good but a little one dimensional, which I got a fruit one with more texture or something. Oh, what a cute little spot! Full transparency: I didn't try any coffee as it was too late in the day for me + caffeine to hang, buuut it smelled divine and it looks like they do some in-house roasting, which is usually a great sign. Instead of coffee, I had a huckleberry Italian soda (amazing) and my husband went for their homemade lemonade - v yummy, but would recommend adding one of their many syrup varieties to it if you aren't one for tart lemonade. The interior is adorable, artsy and everything I look for in a good neighborhood coffeeshop. Wide variety of table types too depending on if you're solo, on a date, or with a group. I forgot to check for outlets to comment on its work-friendliness - will happily check on that next time I'm in the area :) read more

We came up to stay at the Hot Springs and quickly discovered this was the spot in town for great coffee. Super busy each day we went but the line went pretty fast and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Cute and cozy coffee shop and there were people there working on their computers, so dispite the hustle and bustle they could still grab a quiet corner to work. The prices were reasonable especially for a tourist town. I don't think I have ever had a better chai in my life. They asked if I wanted it sweet, spicy, or a combination of the two. I said a combination. It was deep and spicy with just a note of sweetness at the end. Absolutely perfect. I wish I knew what they did so I could re-create it at home cause I don't live nearby and I dream of that drink. In fact I went on their website and submitted an inquiry to see if they would be willing to tell but alas no response. My boyfriend got a Carmel Macchiato and I thought it was good, too sweet for me but good. He loved it! Said it was a pretty amazing Carmel Macchiato. 10/10 if you visit this adorable town you have to stop in for amazing coffee! read more

This is a cute cafe in Idaho Springs. The service was great. There's plenty of tables to sit at. Service was also pretty fast. I think it's at a great price point. My favorite thing was the Spinach and Feta Croissant. It was so good. They also have some seasonal options if you need to get your PSL itch taken care of. This is a great funky coffeehouse right on the main street. In our visit , the shop was bustling and busy but the line moved quickly. I had a London fog. It was made perfectly. It had just enough sweetness and was served piping hot. . It was a perfect drink for the rainy day. The barista was friendly enough and the prices were on par to the big coffee stores. I stop by at this place during our trip to aspen for ice oat-mocha. After this cup of mocha I got some at Glenwood spring & aspen but both are not good as this place. I always feel ice Oat-mocha is kind of weird taste and it's not easy to make a good one. But this place is the best. Finally we have to stop at this place again before fly back to San Francisco. read more

Coffee is solid. I get the oat milk latte in their cup (not to go). I have tried the pastry and it is not for me. Maybe it's for you. Ambiance is great with a nice laid back mountain vibe. This coffee shop was fun. The mochas were awesome!! The smell of this coffee shop will drag you inside. Great decor and friendly staff. They are busy- but we did not have to wait long. They have pastries and snacks too. There is seating inside and a few tables outside. We were able to drink from real coffee cups. Bagels looked devine. Parking is off site on the street on in a paid lot. We really liked this place and will definitely be back. read more

The location at 1510 Miner Street in historic downtown Idaho Springs has been a coffee roasting business for over 30 years. Located in the historic Zeller Building, built in 1885. Our focus is to offer our guests a warm and comfortable, home like environment where they can enjoy what we hope is the best coffee and espresso they have ever had, as well as baked goods and smoothies made with mostly organic and non-GMO ingredients.

They say it's sourdough, well it tasted like untoasted white bread...I was hungry, I powered through. When an average sandwich at best and a small drip coffee runs you $22, I have some room to question the quality of my experience. I'm grabbing the sandwich, bussing the table, getting the coffee, etc. Not running back here, especially since there are a few places in Idaho Springs I really enjoy going to. This was our last time to visit Blue Moon. We'll go get a proper cinnamon roll at Butterhorn or Enza's. I'm so sorry to give this feedback again, but they just don't care. We try to support small businesses here as we live here full time, but they've lost our business for good. And the sad thing is that this single situation has turned us off of anything Blue Moon offers, so we've never even tried anything else. The instantaneous gratification hit me where I almost uttered "I am glad that I took the time to come here!" I wanted to peruse the menu. To my "Give me a moment" statement, the kind lady said "Of course, take your time. We also have a Valentine's Day special drink right here!". It was a white chocolate based mocha which sounded quite sweet so I asked her if it was sweet to which she said "It's very sweet but we can always adjust it to half the syrup!" All kinds of considerate words were made in each of her reply. I decided to go simple today; I went with the drip coffee which comes with unlimited free refills. The lady gave me one of the cups and told me where the pot that contained the drip was located. Alongside the pot, there was a super mini refrigerator that contained two jars of cold milk: one is half and half and the other is oat milk. What a kind care the shop does to keep them chilled. The simple drip coffee was just what I needed; it hit the spot. And tasted clean with no burnt notes at all. Quality coffee indeed. As I was immersed in this review writing in the ambient setting, the shop started to fill with guests. Although it's so tucked in this little mountain town, there appear to be "coffee fanatic fans" that know this place. And like me, I assume that many of them are not the local town folk. There is no wonder why they are drawn to it; they know where to find great coffee spots. I loved every single bit of this cozy place. My recommendation is only one of the multitude of others that know this place.
