Ordered a product, $750+ Yakima roof rack. Used for one trip and complete failure. All assembly and installation correct, Yakima/RW refused to cover even a replacement or issue refund. RW is using Yakima to find any loophole they can to exclude warranty coverage. Do not give them your business. Rack warehouse will abandon customers at the first sign of cost to them. Even their return process shows there lack of care by charging a 6% restock fee. Avoid Rack Warehouse and go to Amazon, they take returns and do not fight for faulty construction. Products are made outside the US and are the very same quality. Should have used amazon to start with. If your product fails, do not provide them with any info except a basic photo, they will use anything they can to avoid a costing them $$. read more

Just received and installed a Yakima Exo Swingbase system from Rack Warehouse and couldn't be happier with the service provided. Their price was the lowest on the market, and overall they were super responsive, helpful and proactive throughout the purchase and delivery process - for example they alerted me just after placing the order that shipping might take some time, in spite of their website clearly indicating the item was on backorder. Bought a Yakima baseline system form Yakima, they did not have the proper faring in stock. Went to Rack Warehouse to order the faring, Yakima recommends a 40" faring however, the yakima measurements to install the rack did not fit my car and I had to extend each of the towers out 3 inches to fit properly on the roof of my car, this now meant I needed a faring 6 inches wider to fit properly. Contacted rack warehouse, they stated 40" was what yakima recommends, their measurements are spot on so if I wanted to exchange the 40" faring for a 46" one, I would have to pay a 6% restocking fee. They stated since I moved my towers out 3 inches, I did not install it properly. Had to send pictures and measurements on why I moved them out 3 inches to proove that the rack was installed properly on my car, we will see what they respond such a hassle. I found a 46" faring on Amazon for $88.00 from the Yakima store so I purchased that. I will probably have to eat the $138.95 that hunk of plastic cost me. Will NOT be returning as a customer and will not recommend The Rack Warehouse to anyone. read more

My local bike shop, which has always been very good to me, quoted me $599.99 for a Thule bike rack. I asked if they could match or at least come down a tiny bit to the Rebox price that RackWarehouse had of $509.99. They said the best they could do is $579.99 plus tax and a $20 assembly fee. My local bike shop warned me not to buy the rebox bike rack saying it was "refurbished" and "missing parts" and "had no warranty". I quickly pointed out that the RackWarehouse.com site said it was BRAND NEW and came with the FULL MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY. With that the sales guy at my local store walked away. Ok. Well, I figured, either way I'm not buying it from you. Shame too because they've always been top notch for matching prices, great quality and an amazing service shop. I called RackWarehouse.com. They explained that sometimes the boxes get so mishandled by the original delivery people when it comes from Thule that they can't change shipping it out to a customer that way and have to rebox it. They even said my local shop likely gets them with damaged boxes but if they have a mandatory assembly fee then no customer would ever know it. He told me the rack was brand new, had a full warranty, was never refurbished and could be returned if I was in any was dissatisfied. Then he went on to say he said he could also recommend some other reputable web sites he's used for items they don't stock to do a price comparison on the rack if I wasn't comfortable using them after what my local store told me. I mean honestly, how many places would send a customer to a different site just to keep them satisfied? I live in Long Island, NY, ordered the REBOXED rack that day, and it came from Vermont the next day. As stated on the site ground S&H is free but there was a $20 fee because it was an oversized item plus $509.99 for the rack and NO sales tax. $529.99 total!! It's BRAND NEW and was SO well packaged I had trouble getting the box and all of its protective cardboard off it. The video on the RackWarehouse.com site was great! After shopping 4 bike platform racks for several weeks, I ended up purchasing a "rebox" Thule T2 Pro XT with the Plus 2 adapter from Rack Warehouse. I was a bit apprehensive about what the rebox condition would be like and unsure about making such a large purchase from an internet store with a strict return policy, but it was $200 less than everywhere else with no tax and free shipping so I took the plunge and couldn't be happier. Before purchasing I emailed customer service to confirm compatibility with my vehicle and they replied swiftly with an OEM fit chart and let me know it would be close, but it would work. I placed the order on a Friday morning and received an email confirmation informing me that I would receive tracking info when it shipped. I was again concerned when Saturday came and hadn't received the shipping email - until the FedEx truck rolled into my driveway around 1pm! (I live in upstate NY, I would assume shipping to other parts of the country may not be as fast.) I was shocked when they unloaded the boxes, there was no indication that these were anything other than new. Whoever "reboxed" these did an amazing job, everything was perfectly packed with original unopened hardware bags and documentation. My purchase was a great experience from beginning to end. Yes, the return policy could be better but they offer the best prices, responsive customer service, and fast shipping. I've purchased multiple items from Rack Warehouse in the past and had a $500 prepaid Amex card that I wanted to use toward a Thule T2 Pro XTR bike rack. I purchased a $500 gift certificate from Rack Warehouse, and once I received that in my email I used a combination of the gift certificate and my credit card to complete the purchase. I received a confirmation email from Rack Warehouse that my order was being processed and shredded the Amex card because there were no funds remaining on it. Without any notice Rack Warehouse cancelled both my order for the rack and for the $500 gift card. Without having the physical card, and with no way to replace it I'm out $500 and can no longer afford to buy the rack that I paid full price for with Rack Warehouse. I called Nick, the manager at Rack Warehouse who cancelled the order, and he accepted no responsibility and was not willing to do anything to help. I asked if they could at least give me a discount on the rack so that I could still purchase it, and he was not even willing to do that and actually hung up on me. I had heard bad things from others but needed a rack for my new truck so I thought I'd give them a chance. Both the older gentleman and the service tech look out the window at my truck and said the rack would fit. Upon assembling the rack I found two large dents in the each of the top bars. More Importantly the rack would Not fit my truck. When I returned to the rack warehouse I spoke to a man with dark hair in his thirties. He was very rude and told me that no one in the store would have told me that the rack would have fit my truck. He wouldn't return it and When asked about their instillation fee he told me it was $100. previously I was told $75 by another sales associate. I would avoid these guys at all cost! Purchased a Rhinorack through RackWarehouse.com. They told me it would fit my vehicle. I didn't install it until almost a year later (I didn't have a need because I had a truck at the time for the kayak) I did install it the following summer and the first time out the rear bar flew back and scratched the roof of my car. Had I been caring a load or if it flew off completely, it could have killed someone. A local rack installer said there was nothing wrong with the installation (he could tell by the front bar and by where the arrows were). He said it was a poor rack for my car. Bottom line: Rhino Rack is running me through the mill for any refund and Rack Warehouse, who initially fitted the rack and sold it to me basically said it's been more than 30 days too bad, so sad. They will not stand behind their product. Do yourself a favor and go to a local rack installer and get the right fit. read more

After assembling it it was obvious our bikes were unsecure. we attempted to return but were told once unpacked they would probably not accept the return since it was now used. Ordered roof rails for my 2011 Sprinter 170 EXT, which came too short & with gaps between the sections. Turns out they were designed to fit the 170 wheelbase & not the EXT they advertised. They offered for me to ship the back, but the rails were already mostly installed so that made little sense. I asked for a discount for a future purchase, but they wouldn't just provide me a 10% off code or something similar, but instead went into a rant about how things are already marked down so much.. Very Poor return policy and customer service!!! We have a Yakima bike rack for our excursion that didn't fold down far enough for the jeep. The guy I first spoke to said the spare rider would work for the jeep with the ski and snowboard rack. Ordered it and got it. Box looks like it took a world tour (fed ex). Long story short it doesn't work with the Yakima snowboard and ski attachment. First guy I spoke to said "oh it should" I said it doesn't! "hold on!" I waited a few minutes and a new guy gets on, he says " that won't work", I said do I return it with a call tag? He said I can ship it back at my exspense and they will look at it and refund my money if it wasn't mounted! So, I opened it and saw it wouldn't work. So, I guess I'm selling it on Facebook! Rude, unhelpful, and wasted my time. My rack failed while we were on vacation. Since Rack Warehouse was in the same state, I called to place an order. I told the sales person my situation. Placing the order took 15 min, then we were disconnected (not their fault, of course). I called back 5 min later, but the store had closed (who runs a website ordering system that closes on a weekday at 6 pm EST?). I called the next morning only to be told they wouldn't ship my order to one of the largest time share vacation resort in Vermont, because it was a "hotel"! Take CAUTION when having an order shipped. I ordered a Thule Ski Rack online and had it shipped (since I do not live in Vermont). I ordered this gift as a Christmas present but unfortunately the surprise was blown when the packaged arrived at my house in the manufacturers box with a hole in it. The recipient of the gift was the one who found the box since it was not packaged in another box it just had the shipping label on it. Not only am I upset that the recipient saw their gift but it was left on my door step without needing a signature being exposed to the neighborhood as to what was purchased which could have led to it being stolen (since ski racks are not cheap). I emailed the customer service department and they said this was standard shipping procedure and that if I wanted it in another box I should have left a comment. Would I have known that this was the way it was going to be shipped I would have. Needless to say I think this is an extremely lazy / cheap way for a business to save money. Called my card company, who informed me that the card was not declined, but the transaction was reversed by the merchant. Called the Rack, who advised that we needed to adjust the billing and shipping addresses. I jumped all over this Saris Bike Bunk with The Whack Warehouse because I couldn't find anything close to how cool this was near me. However when I got the rack... not only did it not hold either bike that I have without wobbling. I couldn't anchor it to the wall because then you can't return it. But even with someone holding this thing as tight as can be my bike still wouldn't have fit very well. I had to return it. Here is where the nightmare is. I had to repay 18$ to the company for the original shipping. And some 5$ service fee (for what I have no idea). And I was told 4 times that if it's not in new condition they would not accept it. I am pretty sure they can see I ordered this about 8 days ago so they treat everyone like they are the horrible customer who used something for 3 years and still wants to return it. I also had to pay my own shipping cost to send it back because I bought it online. So I gave them 50$ for my troubles....regardless.
