We were 150 miles from home in our 2022 Ram towing a 26' travel trailer on our way to Eagle Lake. While going over Carson Pass our def/see dealer light came on. We stopped at the Carson City NV Ram dealer, they would not help us. Called the Reno NV Ram dealer, they would not help us. Called the Susanville Ram dealer, they could help in 3 days. We were ready to head back home. We decided to stop at the Auto Zone and borrowed their scanner/reader. It was blazing hot and my wife and dog stood in the shade. She was approached by a gentleman named Ben who asked what was up? He proceeded to use his reader/scanner, cleared the issue, suggested we add new def and things to do to follow up. He felt confident we could proceed to our Cal Fire reunion at Eagle Lake. We have never received such excellent customer service, let alone from a complete stranger. Ben was the kindest most helpful person I could hope for. I had an issue with my key fob and could not get my car to start. Ben tried every trick in the book but could not fix it. He really put forth the extra effort to help. Now the dealer tells me there is a known issue and it needed a different part so it would not have been possible for Ben to fix it. Of course we did not know that then. One of the crazy issue Ben had to deal with was climbing through my back seat to get to the car battery which is in the truck but the liftgate would not open . . . Jadyn and Ben were genuinely some of the best people. They were reliable and friendly and helped us out when we were in a huge bind. They were spot on with their knowledge of what happened to my son's truck and they came all the way to West Shore to pick up my son's Tacoma. I often forget to leave good reviews, but this is a review I absolutely have to write. I have had one of the worst nights, with the worst luck, that I've ever experienced but I have to thank god that I was lucky enough to have AAA send BEN from alpine towing to save us. Last night around 12am we hit a pot hole while driving from South Lake Tahoe to Olympic valley (we're not from the area).. two tires blown out. We called triple aaa and they couldn't send anyone all night. We "slept" in the car on the side of the road... at 755am we got triple aaa to finally dispatch someone to us, that person got a priority call and so another 15 min later Ben called us and said he was coming. FINALLY someone showed up. And I honestly believe the reason no one showed up earlier was because we needed someone like Ben to be the person to tow our car. The compassion, care, and expertise of this guy literally has restored my faith in people. I don't mean to exaggerate but he went above and beyond and helped us more than we could've hope for or expected. From the moment he showed up, He was so kind and helpful. He cleared his front seat made room for us to rest while he started making phone calls to ensure that wherever he towed us could actually help us. He knew we would need more than just tires (not something I knew) because the rim was blown out and didn't want us to get stuck somewhere they couldn't help us. I'm telling you he was on the phone! While I was dead tired! Making calls to ensure we would be okay and where he towed us could help us!! He talked to each car shop like he had done this for every customer, he knew exactly the information they'd need to help us, his level of professionalism was impressive and effective! I could go on. But bottom line if you need a tow call these people and ask for Ben. Ben came to our rescue in a little under 30 minutes to help us out before parking enforcement got to his car. Super friendly and Knows his car stuff too! Best tow company I've used (once last summer and once today). As my tow today was going to exceed my 5 mile AAA limit, I did get 3 quotes. Ben, the managing partner from Alpine offered by far the best price in addition to being the most friendly and knowledgeable operator. He also patiently walked me through getting set up on the AAA app, which allowed me to split the bill, thereby saving even more money. My car battery needed a jump Saturday Feb. 19. I called AAA AND Alpine Tow was dispatched to come out assist. We were at Diamond Peak ski resort. I was quoted a two hour wait tim3, but he got there in 30 mins and had us up and running in 15 mins. Ben was very communicative and keeping me up with status updates. I highly recommend them. Sunday Feb. 20. My car battery had died again. I called Ben directly and reminded him of who I was and asked if we could get a jump again. Pathetic Excuse Of A Towing Company. AAA sent this company out to "help." Our car got stuck on a steep driveway yesterday. Before the driver could even walk up, he started taking pictures from down below. Proceeded to walk up after his photography session and told us he couldn't help us. Blaming it on the steep driveway. Mind you this business is located in Tahoe (a mountainous region). People get stuck on declines/inclines on a daily basis here. The guy took off and said, " By The Way It's Very Slippery Here!" Well Ok Sherlock, think we know this it's Tahoe during winter when it snows every other day. Tell us something we don't know buddy! The informative driver then took off. I cannot speak to Nnekay F's fender-bender experience; however, Alpine Towing is the AAA-contracted tower for the Eastern part of North Tahoe, and they bailed me out twice. Bobby was the driver (Eastern European accent), and he went above and beyond, helping me to arrange getting an alternator replaced at a local shop, then giving me tips on how to navigate public transportation to/from the shop, and then providing me with transportation back to my motel, which he wasn't supposed to do. So, for towing, I highly recommend them. If you break down in Incline Village, and he's not currently doing a tow, he'll arrive in about 10 minutes. read more

Almost criminal! We called AAA for the fix of a flat tire. They dispatched a truck from Alpine towing. It took almost an hour for him to get to us. When he arrived he had no equipment wrenches to complete the job. He tried to put on different sockets and ruined the lug nuts on the tire. After about 3 hours we asked him to take us to our home and just leave the car there. He said that we would have to call the next day to get somebody to fix the tire. The next day we called in again and they sent us another truck from Alpine towing. Daniel was a nice guy but it was difficult to remove the lugs that were ruined by the previous driver. He also tried to use a hammer to remove one of the lugs and hit the rim damaging the rim. He took pictures and I took pictures of the damage and he said that would be no problem in getting the rim and the lug nuts replaced. Two days later we received a call from the general manager of this business and he informed us that he was not going to do anything to repair the rim or replace it. He did have a set of used lug nuts that he would give us. This business should be removed from AAA service and not used by anyone. The attitude of the general manager was very condensating. read more

I locked my purse with my car keys, cell phone and wallet in my car by accident this evening. I called CSAA and they sent Alpine Towing to my rescue. Although I was quoted a 120 minute wait time, they showed up in half the time even though it is an extremely busy time of year for them. The driver was extremely friendly and within minutes was able to get my door open even though it was hard to see due to the weather and the inside of my car windows fogging up. After a long weekend in the Sierra Nevada mountains, my friends transmission went out and we needed a tow back to Sacramento from Emerald Bay. We called AAA as we both have plus memberships and they dispatched Alpine Towing. We were told there would be about an hour wait time, which was fine so we waited. After that hour, the Alpine tow truck showed up, slowed down, and didn't stop even though his truck was empty. We proceeded to call Alpine Towing and the man that answered the phone said "I don't have time" to which I replied " you're contracted by AAA to tow,and get paid both ways for your services" and he said "I only get paid one way", which I knew is a flat out lie because I have friends who are operators in Sacramento, and are contracted by AAA, and they get paid both directions for their services. The pompous, BS attitude that we received by this company when we are paying customers for a service that is contracted through AAA was a joke. I will never recommend this towing company to anyone, and recommend that you do not use them, and find someone who's willing to do the job that they're supposed to do. read more

I had over extended the jack and it would not move up or down. I had just got there and was planning a week long trip at Sugar and Fallen leaf lake,,,well ... Scott showed up very quickly and diagnosed the problem and helped me get the trailer back on the truck and also helped me get the trailer out of a tight tree infested camp site. I was sweating it out and Scott was a big big help. We got it road worthy and I decided to just head home and get the trailer repaired then run around Tahoe hoping to get it fixed. Dave at Alpine towing is one of the most honest and helpful people I've had the pleasure of interacting with in Incline Village. I know nothing about cars and mine started smoking about two miles from the auto shop, he came to tow it but said he'd feel bad to charge me for the 1 hour minimum for such a short trip. He popped the hood, gave me a mini-lesson on cars and after twenty minutes of checking it out, was confident it'd be fine to drive down to the shop. Not only did he help me, he then followed me all the way to the shop to drop off my car in case anything did happen! He introduced me to the mechanic and then even gave me a ride home, with no expectation of payment. So my clutch went out in my FJ cruiser and I was stranded in zephyr cove Nevada. I called AAA and one of the company's that's contracted with AAA IS Alpine towing. First off let me start by saying the dispatcher I believe her name was Megan was incredibly sweet and extremely helpful. In situations like this is always nice to hear a calm voice slice through your stress. That really helped. Now secondly the Drive SCOTT was amazing. He loaded up my FJ and I was lucky enough to hop in the cab of his truck and hitch a ride down to Reno. It was quite a fun ride. I felt at ease with him and he and I were like two peas in a pod talking about everything along the way. Not only that he was super fast and efficient. It's always nice when your day pretty much turns to crap, totally strangers are just being uniquely who they are and taking your mind off the stress of your day. god. awful. I didn't get towed by them, but I sure did get a tow truck smashed into the rear end of my parked car. This happened July 2010... have they paid me for the damage? Nope. I've had the phone hung up on me. My insurance and I have been called names by the owner. They simple refuse to pay the damage. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONTRACT WITH THIS TOW COMPANY. 1) Late!!!!Estimated wait time was less than 1 hour. I was 3 miles away. About an hour and a half later. They showed. 2) Had me fill out all of his paperwork including the license plate, VIN number etc. Everything the tow truck driver is supposed to fill out to verify the vehicle. 3) Driver had zero people skills or competence. "How do you unlock the car?" With the key. One of two that are on the ring in your hand. The smaller one goes in the door. Clearly hated his job, toothbrushes and proper hygiene. 4) Waited at the mechanic's in Reno for over 2.5 hours as the driver went to other calls. I had to leave. Car was picked up at 12:51. Car made it to the destination after 5PM. After the mechanic is off duty mind you. This is after my specific instructions that I was going to be waiting to open the gate. 5) Rude female receptionist! Horrible customer service. I made a formal complaint to Hagerty Roadside Assistance who contracted the tow in the first place. 6) Driver refused to bring the car up the driveway of the mechanics claiming that he can't make it up the driveway when a 35 foot motorhome which has a much lower ground clearance than his truck makes it up the driveway with ease. read more
