    Honey jalapeño cornbread

We heard about this place by word of mouth, decided to give it a try. We arrived around 9p on a Sunday. Seemed typically busy. A good sign. We were greeted outside by two ladies and promptly taken to our seats. Our waiter, Decker, (like the double bus.. lol) immediately introduced himself and welcomed us in, as it is our first visit. He brought out waters and took our drink orders. Of course we got two Tito's Mules and YAY! they came out in the correct mugs! The ginger beer was flat, if it was even used but I mean it was alcohol.. it wasn't good. soooo We placed our food order, the Texas Philly with pulled pork and cornbread sausage stuffing and the pulled pork sandwich (perfection) with baked beans (had a taste of their own, sooo good) and mac n cheese (had an unexpected crunch, really good) and we wait... not very long tho. Our food arrives looking just as delicious as it tasted. Decker then proceeds to give us a lesson on the sauce and brings out their special sauce. We also added the honey jalapeño cornbread. The restaurant had a 'cookout' feel or like a disco ranch decor experience with televisions everywhere. The food was really good, the staff were very hospitable and we would return.

    THE PITMASTER'S PLATTER

We had an amazing evening at One Hot Mama's. Even though the place was notably busy, we only waited for about 15-20 minutes to get our table ready. Not too bad. We immediately got seated and our waitress took our orders right away. We were a party of 11 and we all ordered different things. However, me and my partner decided to share a platter and it was the best decision. It came with pulled pork, bbq chicken and brisket. We also added mashed potatoes (which were absolutely amazing) and baked beans. The brisket was incredibly good and juicy, pulled pork was delicious but I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken. Still very tasty though. But overall the experience was great and will definitely be back in the future!

AMAZING BBQ in Hilton Head! This was recommended by a guide at our hotel and it did not disappoint. The wings were super crispy. The ribs fell right off the bone. Mac n cheese was creamy and collard greens had good flavor. They have indoor and outdoor seating and staff was friendly. Highly recommend checking this place out! They also have happy hour and trivia or karaoke nights.

One hot mama smells amazing when you walk in! There are tons of seating inside and a beautiful outdoor patio with live music. I had the cocktail Bahama Mama. It was strong and not weak like the other places in the area & comes out very fast. The server (Tiana) was very good. The baby back ribs had amazing flavor and they literally fell off the bone. The barbecue beans were probably the best I've ever had. The brisket was good. My husband thought it should be seasoned more, but I thought it was fine and the cornbread was also good. I wasn't a fan of the cornbread stuffing, but my husband loved it. I'm sad we didn't find this place until our last day because it was amazing! We will definitely be back on our next trip!

They have a pretty wide selection of food. Sat our table of 14 super quickly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The onion strings were some of the best I've ever had. Kinda loud environment so if you want to chat or are hard of hearing keep that in mind.

Let me write a review about the "BEST" BBQ spot I've been to in a long time. I must point out, BBQ is subjective. Some people like Texas BBQ, some like a Kansas City complex dry rub but no one likes BBQ from North Carolina. It's like punishment BBQ, more mustard sir? Nah, I'm good. Me? I'm from New York City and can appreciate a good Que. I had One Hot Mama's bookmarked so after we checked into our hotel, we made a bee line to Mama's house. Walking inside, there's a lot going on. It's part sports bar where people are tipping back a few cold ones and screaming Roll Tide! The four of us made our way to the restaurant and were seated at a small table. We're given menus and are leaning towards the family platter with additional side of ribs. The waiter is pushing the chicken wings. I'm seeing the award winning wings but they have a hot symbol. The sister? Are saying oh no to my choice so I choose "The Italian Stallion" and the ladies chose the Maui Wowwi. I ordered a side of Blue Cheese and let me tell you, I dipped everything in Blue Cheese! Ribs? Dunked them Chicken? Dunker Wings? Blue Cheese bath The sides were also amazing. We chose: Mac & Cheese Collared Greens Baked Beans Cole Slaw We also ordered corn bread and they gave us pickles. The best part? All sides have free refills! Meaning, we knocked out the baked beans and they brought more. When all the food did come? There wasn't enough room for all the dishes so we asked the waiter to move us to a larger table. Once we had the room on the table, this was a lot of food. It was so much we brought it back to our hotel and had it the next day for dinner. Everything and I mean everything was cooked to perfection. From the fried chicken to the BBQ chicken, everything had a nice juicy taste. We are a total fan of One Hot Mama's!

Amazing fish taco menu. Happy hour price two tacos for six dollars

One Hot Mama's BBQ's new HHI location is sweet. Live music on the patio. Friendly bartender, Wes, at the "garage" bar, a pretty cool outdoor bar with a garage theme ... wrenches on the wall and tool chests...three garage doors close it up for the night. Happy hour bar snacks are awesome. Picture is one of two fish tacos you get for six dollars. Tried the brisket sliders too- came with fantastic fries. Also six dollars. Someone sitting next to me, got the $6 tacos - very large portion that looked delicious . Liquor is half price and beer is one dollar off during happy hour.

    Mouthwatering brisket

Having a five-star experience here is all about knowing what to order. Their brisket is outstanding. Cannot say the same about the just ok mac & cheese or nachos. Kids said the wings were dry. We liked the lima beans, the broccoli seemed possibly previously frozen, but appreciated the added garlic. Service was quick, and there are some seriously talented karaoke singers hanging out at the bar.

Hilton Head Island has seen some changes in food offerings in the last decade, but fresh and new American fusion isn't common. Enter Chow Daddy's. With two locations (the other in Bluffton) we hit this one on Hilton Head. It's a risky place to put a restaurant, buried in the back plaza of a nondescript but high-end shopping center deeeep in the wooded neighborhoods of the island's Southern tip. If you're staying elsewhere on the island, you'll find you have to pay a small fee to access Sea Pines but many people do to get to the Salty Dog Cafe as well. While it may not get a lot of visibility, it is definitely worth seeking out for the very good Latin American cuisine being offered. Out party of five arrived on an August Friday evening after making reservations and were impressed with the cleanliness and upscale minimalist vibe. Dark booths and Edison-style lighting are offset by the daylight let in by picture windows. There is outside seating in the patio (very pleasant in the shade) and a small bar open off the host area. Inside seating is large enough for bigger parties of 6-8. Definitely not a post-beach day place, but perfect for date night, or more dressy family dinner out. Service was quick and talkative; we enjoy chatting beyond food with out severs which makes the experience even better. Apps and mains were delivered quickly with good presentation. We started with the fine fresh corn dip - extra tortillas were helpful to get the last bits. Mains included a fresh and well pattied cheesburger, mix-n-match tacos and two specialty bowls - cajun shrimp with spicy fine fat prawns and an Ahi-tuna poke style bowl. The rice in both was excellent and the portions were perfect. I'll try to un-hide this hidden star with this review and encourage you to seek it out if you live on "HHi" or make your next visit. Rare 5 star from us.

I came here with a bunch of friends from my undergraduate research lab while we were in Hilton Head presenting at a conference. We had rented a condo to all stay together and this place was in walking distance, so we headed over. I don't remember what all everyone else got to eat, or much about the service, but I do remember it was a total vibe. Beachy decorations that were fun but still classy and not too kitschy, warm lighting, good music. I ordered an item probably not even on their menu anymore: pulled barbeque chicken on a hunk of spicy cornbread with a side salad. I checked online and it's nowhere to be found, but it slapped at the time, and from pictures it seems like you can still maybe order their spicy cornbread at least, which was the best part! It had a great cakey texture and some legit heat. The chicken was succulent and tender and the smokiness paired well with the salad. It seems Chow Daddy's enjoyed a decade of success after my visit so long ago. I hope the temporary closure listed on the Yelp page doesn't turn into a permanent one. It was a pleasant surprise to be reminded of this visit and my time with friends.

Also points to the staff for the warning about the spicy giardiniara. I still got it and enjoyed it, but was still a little (pleasantly!) surprised. We each enjoyed our half of the sandwich. Very Chicago-esque atmosphere inside, surely to appeal to those traveling from that area, or who miss home. The food was great, the staff was excellent.
