Had a technician come out to my home to repair a dryer. They found the parts to order, simple replacement of a dryer belt. they insisted that I pay for the work of the total repair at that time, so I can save money on the repair. The parts were received at my home and appointment scheduled for competing the repair, technician arrival time between 8 am and 5 pm. I got a notice that the technician would arrive at 3:30 pm, then every 15 minutes the arrival time kept moving out until 4:16 pm, then all of a sudden, the appointment said that "customer was not at home" and rescheduled me. The technician never showed up at the rescheduled appointment. There is no customer service phone number to talk to a person. The all the phone numbers are AI generated and keep asking if you want to cancel or reschedule your appointment. read more

Got a quick response from Customer Service, to an earlier, negative review regarding an unrealized dryer repair which was initiated nearly a month ago. The suggestion was to call the same customer service department which has been proven to be useless in the past. Also directed me to an invalid email address for this business. Poor dishonorable service. The tech did not look at my washer other than turn the nob off nd on. He then mis-diagnosed a bad transmission. He became hostile when we asked how he was able to diagnosis it w/o looking at it. We paid him out of fear due to his level of hostility. Now getting the run-around from customer service (website down for maintenance gor 3 days now. No supervisors. No grievance dept. etc...). The tech's fake diagnosis was wrong. Our Samsung oven was not getting to temperature nor cleaning. I called Sears Appliance . Someone, Ralph, came to assess the problem on his way back to Albuquerque 11/2 hr away. He found it was the igniter, had the part on hand, replaced it and it was fixed. Ralph was very friendly and helpful. He suggested we think about getting the warranty plan, which we did, which saved us money for that day's service call and repair. Potential customers should know first that I was made to pay in advance for this service and that this firm, like many others in NM, has decided to charge a gas and wage tax fee, which they add onto the bill. This information is not available on their website. Unfortunately, businesses learned from COVID that they can charge customers hidden fees that in the past were a part of their operating expenses. So now, while none of we workers are paid from the time we leave home until when we arrive at work, service companies charge for that "travel" time. That add-on brought my hourly cost for service to well over $200/hour. Understandably, parts are added to that cost. There is a fee for coming to the house to determine what is wrong and that took 15 minutes. My bill was $330 for an hour and 10 minutes work. I have to say, that the repairman was excellent! But I am certain, he is not making even half of that, which is unfortunate because he is the one positive for this company. Finally, I have decided not to hire another repair service that adds to their costs. If a company cannot be honest up front, then I am not going to trust them. read more

I have tried three times to schedule a repair with Sears Appliance Repair in Santa Fe New Mexico. The website looks great, but it is all lies. All phone numbers and the online chat connect to someone outside the US who collects all your information multiple times, then tells you either the appliance repair in Santa Fe is closed (then where do all these reviews come from?) or there is no technician in my area. The website says service is available in Los Cerrillos, but apparently that is another lie. I tried to make an appointment using the automated service on the website, but there is no information provided about service charges or trip costs, and the online chat service cannot answer any questions. Quote: there is no service technician in your area. I am very disappointed with the truly bad customer service provided by Sears. read more

UPDATE: Sears agreed to give us a replacement refrigerator. In the meantime the motherboard was fixed on our existing refrigerator (4th time for the same issue). It was supposedly fixed on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. On Thursday I went to retrieve ice cream from the freezer. Freezer is out again!!! No ice from the ice maker either! Sears said it should not have been fixed the 4th time since a replacement credit was given. How is it my fault that the repair person went ahead and fixed it. We even told him that we were authorized for a replacement! Now Sears will not reimburse for the food that I have lost this time!!! The battle is real people, it is so real! Sears home warranty services have the Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Called to have a microwave repaired in July. They ordered the wrong part twice. Then later failed to show up for 3 scheduled appointments. We tried to reach "someone in charge". They were No help at all. So now it's mid August and a have a broken microwave. I was told today that I was unable to talk to a human about my grievance and before I could get a sentence out, they transferred me to another automated system. We have had two $4000+ refrigerators from Sears in the last 14 years. Both were junk. The first one started failing a couple years in, and continued to fail in various ways over the next several years. A sympathetic repair tech who had serviced us many times finally cut a couple of vital wire connections, forcing Sears to give us some credit on a replacement (which was even worse - see below). Second fridge had a complete failure at 6 years (there is a class action suite going on this one at present). So you must recognize that modern refrigerators are NOT designed to be long-lasting. Therefore, add-on warranties, which, in the past were ignored by most buyers, are now absolutely necessary. A single repair incident can easily cost $1000. Sears repair has their business set up for the convenience of the company - not the customer. Here's how it works: Schedule an appointment for a tech. He shows up a week later for diagnosis. He orders parts, which take 1-2 weeks to arrive. Call again for the tech to return for the repair. This can take another week or more. Each incident can easily take a month to resolve. There is no priority for appliances that are critical. Have you ever tried to live without one for a month? This is all beside the fact that each time they fail, you can lose hundreds of dollars in spoiled foods. For several years Sears utilized a contracted outside company to do their repairs. As of this writing, they are now sending out their own people. The routine was the same for both. I became adept at doing repairs myself, when the parts arrived, rather than wait another week or two for the tech to arrive. And the techs don't always get it right! Made an appointment over the Web to have my water heater repaired. The appointment was for a week and a half later, so it took some time. It wasn't an emergency: the pilot light kept going out after each heating cycle, often before the water was hot. Sears contacted me both by e-mail and phone message to confirm appointment time, and the technician called me about half an hour before showing up. He was polite, professional, efficient and gave me a couple of recommendations on ways to save money, one of which I took. So I do think the technician was very competent. However, the repair lasted for only one or two cycles, and then the same problem returned! I think the part was faulty, at least that's what I hope. Called Sears again and they agreed to do the job again for free, only if the problem was the same as before. And, I have to wait another week and a half. I've had this done before, and had the same experience minus the non-working "repair," so I still have confidence in them. read more

MY APPT. went very smoothly. Water Heater Technologist arrived at 8:00 am for an 8a-12pm window. He spent somewhere near 20 minutes to a half hour. Checked everything, told me the healthy heat production: 120 degrees measured in the garage utility tub. Recommended the appropriate setting for a single individual at B, while a family would use C, and that I should simply go to C if I found I wanted it hotter, instead of the marks between as I have done previously. He was mannerly, committed to his task, thorough in his information o my 6+ year old appliance. I am grateful for the level of service provided, as last year I didn't make an appt. I felt this time, as with the Washer and Dryer Man's service, who arrived about an hour later, and had even more to do, especially with the Dryer (due to non-covered concerns that I repaired thru others,) He did extended work I'd never received before, so thatI felt my Master Protection Agreement lived up to its name! Very well done gentlemen. Sorry I don't remember your names, but the Washer/Dryer Technician's # is 0943092 on the receipts (for value of work, not a bill,) and both appointments were on Tuesday the 19th. Omg what a mess! I had a sears window air conditioner 3 years old stopped working called for repair was told iT would be $100 but if he could not repair it I would receive a coupon towards a new one(however the people in the customer service are totally clueless on this ) Finally they after 3 hours on the phone with the service man still there it was his phone they ordered me supposedly the same air conditioner 15,000 btu thyentook the order- then said I'd have to pick it up from a sears that is over 50 miles away as they are in the Philapenes and have no clue how far the sears store was so then we had to cancel that and start over for a delIvery and installation. I charged the air conditioner and the installation ~ the air conditioner came totally wrong size and installers said they could not install and if I wanted them to it would be an additional $199 to built it to fit & I already paid $189for delIvery/insulation so I said forget it cancel it all and they took the air conditioner with Them & I'm still fighting to get my refund! I can't believe how many calls and time I wasted on this and still have not resolved this ~ and they think they can still have a company? My next move is to call sears headquarters I have disputed this charge and I'm pissed that I not only didn't get an air conditioner nor an installation and they recommended the wrong one. Don't bother wasting your time with this company. I called to scheduled service to repair a loud dishwasher. They did repair that but caused a leak in the machine. The leak took multiple calls to repair. their repair man ignored my calls after he left when the machine continued leaking forcing me to schedule multiple service appointments. It took a total of 5 trips to finally fix the machine. Due to their 4 hour time slots I was forced to take a total of 2 1/2 days of personal leave time to accommodate their incompetence. After many emails and calls to Sears costumer service I was told they would do nothing to make up for my work time missed. DO NOT USE this company ever!!!! If I could have given them 0 stars I would have. Service like this is why sears in on the fast track to bankruptcy. read more

Horrible service. Scheduled an appliance repair with Sears because of the brand name and supposed reliability. Was given a window of 8-5, with likelihood of 2-4. I did receive a call at 3:30 --that they'd be out in 10 minutes. No show. I called the switchboard at 4:445 and was then told 5-6. At 5:50, I called back--and was told I'd need to reschedule....and earliest available appointment was 6 days later! I missed half a day's work for this! Try harder Sears.
