What a fraud! This poolman, Brain, claims there was a leak in the pool. He hired a leak detection company, American Butlers, which charged him $250.00 and said there was a leak under the rock, and the skimmer was terrible, too. They bid $4900.00 to fix conditions that did not exist. Of course, I got a second opinion, and they said both were false. The pool is up and running. Do not use him; he is a fraud and a liar. This man is out for money only, and he rips off the most vulnerable--elder abuser. read more

Brian does an outstanding job on our pool and roof solar system. We had quite a few issues after purchasing our home with the pool and he's gotten all of our equipment working solidly as well as replaced some older components that needed it. In two visits he was able to eliminate algae, bird droppings, and staining as a result of improper water chemistry. I was over at a friends house in El Cajon, she has a pool and has used Al's Pool cleaning services since she moved into the house 5+ years ago. When I arrived at her house I noticed that her pool had gotten a little green (there was a strom that passed through just the night before) and there was alot of debris in the water. She called Al's while I was there and they arrived almost immediatly after we called. The guy that came over was very helpful and told us the reason it turned this color and what she can do to further prevent it from coming back, He was there for less than an hour and the pool looked great. I was prompted to write this today because we had bad weather yesterday in La Mesa with freak microbursts and I had several trees go down and make a mess of the pool. I called Brian and he was here in the morning to help me clean up. I have been monitoring prices of competitors for years and have found a few that are cheaper, but not by much. Often Brian has the best prices, but his reliability and knowledge are first rate. He is proactive with the equipment so you get the filter cleans needed and he trains his occasional helpers very well. We have had Al's as our pool service for almost two years. Brian came in after 3 other companies. We have never been happier. Our pool is sparkling. Even though we have our dog in the pool and it dirty ups the pool all through the summer. Brian just handles it. Once when some tiles came loose in the spa he had someone come in and fix it right away. Brian is very knowledgeable and is incredibly patient, he takes the time to answer any questions I may have (which tends to be a lot!) He's not pushy and doesn't try to tell me I need something done "right now" but he let's me know if it may be something needed in the future. This was the case with my recently replaced pool pump. I had to wait quite a while to get a new one and he didn't pressure me about it. I don't feel like I'm being taken advantage of just because he knows that I know absolutely nothing about pools. He keeps me well informed of any upcoming maintenance that may incur an additional fee (filter clean, seasonal chemicals, etc.) which allows me to budget for it and that is very helpful.
