great food, service, and prices! we got lobster roll with fries for $17, perfect amount of food. the also have their own brand of tonic, my friend got an orange tonic, i would have got one but they didnt have diet, so i just got diet coke. the bill was about $40 for the both of us. the place was clean, young kids working there very nice. the tip jar is on the counter b/c you order/pay and get a number then go to sit they bring it to you but all money already taken care of. they have deserts but we were too full. this is the next parking lot over from the shopping center with the llbean outlet, very convenient. read more

A good quality fish shack with absolutely enormous portions. I ordered the haddock plate and the fillet literally extended over both sides of the large serving plate. The portions of other seafood ie clams etc were mounded up on the plate to near toppling. The quality of the fish was good. I have had fresher but I have also had much worse in a great many more locations. The fries and cole slaw were routine but the fish and the portion size is where it is at. You go to the counter and order your dinner eat in or take out. You wait for your take out order or go find a seat in the dining room if you are eating in. The counter attendant will walk into the dining room and call your number and then deliver your meal to your table. You clean up your own dishes when you are through. read more

The food was absolutely terrible! To start I had the shrimp cocktail and it tasted no different from the shrimp in the frozen section at Walmart, and they gave barely any sauce to go with the shrimp. I also had their coffee and it was terrible, no real sugar and barely any cream. My friend had lobster and rice pilaf. the rice pilaf tasted very old as if it was cooked 2 days ago. The lobster was alright but also tasted horrible Compared to other places with cheaper and better lobster. My other friend had some seafood casserole I can't remember the name of it but it was a special, it literally came cold and very watery and milky and looked like and tasted like it was a frozen meal they also had one of the potatoes which was also very cold and disappointing. I had the Fantail Shrimp which were absolutely disgusting as someone who eats shrimp all the time. All in all I definitely do NOT recommend this place their food is disgusting and very overpriced definitely a waste of 80$. read more

Right down the road from my gentleman friend. Little hole in a wall place that has grown and expanded over the years. You place your order at the window and it will be delivered to your table. A couple of months ago I had a baby shrimp dinner. To be honest, it tasted bad. It even felt like I was chewing into a latex glove. I will say though that when I picked up my order, the staff was pretty pleasant. Their fries and onion rings are pretty good as well. Overall, I would say it is an OK place for a seafood dinner. The only odd thing is the "RESERVED" signs on every table and a sign stopping you from entering the dining area, unless you have ordered at the counter. I just don't get it. This is a "take out" shack, with a nice sit down inside area. Fire place in the winter, AC in the summer. Food is served on disposables. Food is excellent. Great fresh product, and most of the items cooked properly. Broiled scollops probably best bang for the buck. Alot of other things are great values too ! Yeah, they need to fix that bathroom door. Been broken for a year or more. But, go back to my first sentence. Great place, I go there 4-5 times a year. As this is a top "cruising" area for car and MC guys, If they had the sense to pave the parking lot, they would be a lot busier. read more

Hubby and I found this spot while on our motorcycles. Loved it from day 1, and we make it a point to return whenever we are up that way. I get their crab roll every time, he the lobster roll. Always good. You place your order in a line and then head to the dining room, pick a seat, and your order will be brought out when ready. Cringe when my mother wants to go there for lunch. I can't eat seafood - twice have ordered a simple cheeseburger and asked for the onions to be cooked. "We don't do that" (there are two tables in use). "Sometimes we don't even make cheeseburgers if we're busy". "Medium" burger was not unlike a hockey puck. Overcooked burger and uncooked onions - because "we just don't DO that". Figured first time was a fluke. Now it's just a horrible place. There are several seafood restaurants right up the street that accommodate the customer. Have been going to Al's for many years, more so before we moved to FL. We return there at least 2-3 times every year when we return to visit family. This year was not a good experience. We did have a good lobster and some steamers...both ok, but way pricey. We had our favorite...fried clams, looking forward to that first bite, where we close our eyes just to enjoy and savor that flavor. BUT, the clams were way over-fried, very dark in color, greasy and no flavor....very disappointing for a $19.00 small side of fried clams...obviously we were willing to pay, but it did not pay off....SO go elsewhere for your fried food....and we are New Englanders from NH and MA and do know our seafood and the quality it should be. We have been coming to Al's since 1995. The seafood is the best I've tasted. The fried seafood is so light and delicious. My 12 year old loves the shrimp and Caesars salad. Oh and Al's soda. See you later in the summer read more

Not going to tell you a fib here, Al's seafood used to be the best seafood I have ever tasted and I was a loyal customer, but then they recently switched hands to a new found owner. Thats where it went down hill.. The food is pis pour and the services was very chintzy and slow. The prices sky rocketed and the food got worse. I am very upset that one change can ruin a great franchise. read more

I have been a loyal customer Browns 40 years. After reading a bunch of positive reviews on the Hampton New Hampshire Facebook page I decided to give Al's a try. The prices were much better than the overly expensive Browns. First impression was that they really did a good job at working the social distancing protocol. Lines were marked with spots for standing, tables were placed in front of the ordering windows so that nobody could get too close. The place looked clean and neat. I ordered the half-and-half fried scallops and fried clam plate with onion rings. The scallops were wonderfully tasty and the onion rings were just how I like them. The fried clams were filled with sand. Three in a row and the third one I just had to spit into a napkin. That was very disappointing because I was really craving fried clams and I actually left some uneaten and threw them away. I am open to the fact that maybe this was a bad day? Too many good reviews to think otherwise but it left me not in a hurry to come back. ‍ read more

The building is divided into halves... half fish market and half dining room, both very clean and well maintained You place your order at a large window and your food is delivered when ready. ... I had the 2-way plate with haddock and baby shrimp. My companion had the fried clam strip plate. Both were delivered within a few minutes and both were extremely fresh and cooked to perfection. We tried Al's Seafood on the recommendation of someone who lives 40 minutes away and drives there for fish. We live close by so we definitely gave it a try. You will not get fresher fish anywhere else. Very casual. You order and pay at the counter and then are seated. Your food is delivered to you at the table. They have beer and wine. We have gone to Al's many times and our experiences have been pretty good. I have a couple of issues though with the food. The fried clams are cooked so that they are greasy. I don't know why they can't cook them the way other famou clam places cook them (Lena's in Salisbury). I don't like greasy clams. The steamers are great, stuffed mushrooms are great; but why does someone have to pay $1.00 extra for a baked potato. Other places give you the option for that instead of fries. I think you pay enough money for your dinner without having to add $1.00 more just to get a different kind of potato. We will keep coming back but not for the fried clams unless they change the batter. Thank you read more

We had the pleasure of eating at Al's seafood again today and as usual had a fantastic meal. We discovered this restaurant a couple of years ago and found the food to be consistent on every occasion. It is not a fancy but pleasant to sit and chat with friends while have a relaxing meal. We have also found the place to be clean and warm with exceptions of the cold bath rooms. We drive a distance of 40 or so miles to eat at this etablisment and we feel it is woth every penny. read more

The food was average- essentially exactly what you would assume from the parking lot. $10.99 for a clam strip dinner and $5.99 for a cheeseburger and fries. Staff was plenty nice. Whenever my wife an I are in the area and we are hungry we go to Al's. We have eaten at places like Legal Seafoods and Browns. But Al's is the best by far. We have never had even a mediocre meal. Everything we have ordered has been great. They deliver seafood fresh to the restaurant at least twice a day. I have paid a lot more and received much less quality.
