We didn't go off trail too much, except for a couple of mushroom clusters that were found (which we kept and tried that night!) , and thankfully the trail was pretty even, so not a ton of hills or anything! It also was a great variety of nature along the trail, so we got a bit of everything! Can't wait to visit the area again and try another tour!

More than any other guide I've had, I appreciated her knowledge bank because she didn't just throw random factoids out at us, she wove the information together in a way that allowed us to sink into the eco-system and absorb the history, geology, and biology. We avidly enjoy nature, and were a little bit surprised that everything she told us was new! From start to finish it was a wonderful trip as we didn't have to lift a finger, and learned interesting things even on the ride there and back! LOVE that they're dog friendly! She just perched in between us on the tandem kayak and enjoyed being paddled around like Queen Sheba! Highly, Highly Recommended! PS - found out that the guide is a NATIVE AMERICAN, NATURALIST, has I biology degree I think, and was a park ranger for 15 years!!!

What a pleasant surprise…read more As we were making our way down the Oregon Coast, we decided to stop here because it was extremely foggy. Foggy mornings equal great morning walks for me. What we didn't realize was that there was a large campground tucked behind the dunes, because in the dense fog, we couldn't see much of anything. We ended up walking the very secluded beach for several hours until the fog began to lift. The beach is open to everyone, even if you're not camping, and it stretches for miles in both directions with soft sand the entire way. Sometimes those random, unplanned stops end up being the best discoveries. If I ever decide to camp, this is absolutely a place I'd look into. The campground is literally right on the water. And if you're just exploring the beach, there's plenty of free parking all around and no admission fees required.

Every morning I went to take a shower, there were two lovely Forest Service dressed ladies cleaning the restrooms and showers. They were smiling and pleasant. Yes. Some campers will mess up the restrooms which cannot be helped, but this campground was on it. Our restroom had 8 individual private showers, one was wheelchair accommodating. This park was paved and had well marked trails leading to Dunes, or across a sky bridge to the lake. The Dunes also had a small lake which you could rent Kayaks, paddle boats, and fishing poles. The park had many places for family reunions, or weddings. They also had a boat launch for both lakes, and a dump station. Oh yes! They also had garbage, recycling, and propane can recycling too. There were well marked signs of campsites, and warnings. This place was great!
