The service technicians were friendly, helpful and knew what they were doing. The product they used was immediately effective and killed for another week or so but with rain or watering ceased to be effective long term. They do come out for free reapplication of the pesticide in between quarterly appointments but only in 2 week intervals. pretty good service but my issues are with the contract and cost. My contract was for $60 a month for one year with them coming out once a quarter for treatment, that's $180 a visit with a $350 early cancellation fee. I called up the day before my contract expired to tell them I wasn't going to renew for another year yet because the bugs in the winter months are not that bad and expected to pick up the service again in the spring. The representative said there would be a $350 cancellation fee unless I waited till the next day. Apparently, I had to call on the very last day of the contract to cancel. Bare in mind, all monthly fees have been paid and now more services could have been provided, they just wanted an additional $350 dollars. Poor business practice in my opinion. The cost of treatment is pretty high as well. For the price Alta was charging me I could use a gallon of pesticide every week and the fire ant bait every 2 months and it would still be cheaper than there 4 applications. (Lowe's carries everything I needed) To sum up, if you can't do it yourself and money is not a concern for you then they have a good product. I signed up expecting reliable service, but unfortunately the issues I had were never properly addressed. During service visits, mud was left throughout my driveway and front porch, leaving my husband to clean up the mess afterward. The ant problem in my front yard was not resolved, and the rodent trap that was supposed to be placed was not done until I personally followed up and asked about it. The fly issue I originally contacted them about was also never properly addressed. I was also told by the representative that I would receive a free attic inspection after mentioning concerns I had noticed, but nobody ever contacted me to schedule it. On top of the service issues, I had serious concerns with billing. My payment was supposed to be processed on the 5th but was taken out on the 23rd, which caused financial issues and overdraft fees. Then, just four days later, an additional $440 charge was charged to my account that I did not authorize or approve. I was extremely frustrated and concerned that I had to spend so much time trying to resolve charges that I did not agree to. I requested to cancel my service because of the ongoing problems, poor communication, and lack of follow-through. I signed a contract in Nov 2025 and the first application was done that same day. Then, I had to contact them every other month to even come out. They NEVER called to schedule a single bi-monthly. They actually changed the dates of (3) of them for "scheduling protocols" and even missed my May 2026 application and re-scheduled for June. It's a clown show over there: not enough workers, you sit on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time, and I'll never renew with them. My daughter has been paying this company monthly, yet their original pest problem has only gotten worse. Despite multiple service calls, they now have ants and spiders not only throughout our yard and home, but also inside their car. This has created a serious safety concern--we can't even strap in our one-year-old and five-year-old into their car seats without fear of them being bitten. When she called for emergency service and asked if anything more could be done, the customer service representative, Salem, was unhelpful, unsympathetic, and dismissive. She would not allow her to speak with a manager and even questioned why this was a concern--showing no understanding or care for the potential harm to my children. I have an ant problem and called her for a referral but when she told me about yesterday's offer of a lower price subscription rate instead of offering to handle the issue and then today's call with Salem showing lack of compassion for children and poor customer service we decided to handle it ourselves. I do not recommend. The customer service is great and responsive but the follow through, on actual service, fails for this company. I am currently on a 1 year contract after buying a house that had a flea infestation. Contract is pay monthly, regurlar scheduled visits quarterly, and as many other visits as required to solve any bug issues. Initially when I contracted with them they said coming out every 5 days until the problem was gone, and then quarterly was not problem. Once I signed up, I had to argue with them to get them to come back in under two weeks. I did get them to come back 7 days after the second treatment for the third. That seemed to kill off the fleas for the short term. I am assuming the fleas are coming into my property from neighbors because after about 30 days, they show back up. Took a couple of months to figure that out. So I worked with Alta to come up with a plan to come out every 30 days. Of course they forget, and I had to call them as they skipped a month and the fleas came back. They came back at the end of February 2025, and as of today I had to call them as the fleas are back, and they did not come for 2 months. The guy today, was insistent that they did not agree to come monthly and that I needed to call them for each and every service. I discovered by law, they must provide you the information on the chemicals they use. I just purchased those, a sprayer, and respirator on Amazon. All for under $200, while I pay them $57 a month for 12 months. It seems to be way easier and cheaper to do it yourself. read more

I had just started renting a home when a salesmen for Alta offered their services as I was leaving for work. The salesmen intentionally leave out key details: you can't cancel the services for 12 months or you have to pay a ridiculous fee of $400, and you don't have access to all the services listed if you rent(you need the homeowner present for any inspections). The salesmen push you to sign on the spot, then rely on the predatory contract to keep you locked in. You can't cancel through the online portal, you have to write them a hand signed letter or call their number and wait on hold for a representative. The representative was nice and cancelled without haggling, but the shady contract and intentionally misleading salesmen ruin whatever merit this pest company might have. They do a good job on the first visit, but in later visits they'll literally only spend 5 minutes on site. Overall, they're just mediocre at pest control, which would make me want to give them 3 stars, but the predatory sales tactics have earned them a 1 star. Based on other reviews this business relies on unhappy customers locked into a contract to keep them afloat, which would explain why the salesmen are so pushy. read more
