Lavazza-Latte
McKayla B.

Typical American breakfast restaurant with some interesting items like this breakfast poutine. I originally asked for my eggs to be fried over medium and they came out so runny. I asked to redo the eggs and the new eggs were more cooked but was not medium. I think it's important for breakfast places to be able to cook an egg to the temperature requested. The coffee was just okay and the pancake was pretty basic.

Whenever I come back to town I always make sure to come to Alteas! Food and service are fantastic. They never miss and their food is great! It's a great brunch spot that I can't recommend enough!

Vegetable Harvest Omelet

To start great downtown location with curbside seating. Parking is difficult so prepare for that. Service here was excellent and the food was great. Our first visit was better than second time so if I had to average both experiences it would be a 3.5 but since first visit was a 5 and second a 3 this past week it's a 4. Monday Labor Day was 1st visit and then again Thursday. Our waitress Monday was A+ but Thursday a 2.5. Reason is my coffee was not brought as she forgot and my side of bacon tasted overcooked left waiting to be picked up as brought over when we were done. Again I believe she forgot both but after reminding her twice we had brought to table. Harvest omelet day one was amazing but on Thursday dry and not so good. The mimosa flight was great idea saves on ordering individual My grandkids came with us on day 1 and loved their meals - French toast and burger. Also our first waitress seemed more experienced.

Nutella crepes - yum

They have creative menu selections. We tried something new and different for us - chicken waffles. The maple butter really made it nice Also Nutella crepes were lovely with both strawberries and banana. I love that they offer Polar beverages Service was pleasant and the staff seemed to all pitch in and help each other. It was nice to see.

Great local modern cafe with French style influence. Moderately priced with simple, fresh and whole tasting foods. The baguettes were toasted well with soft interior. Friendly service with a smile and they checked on us throughout our meal. Food came out within 5-10 minutes and the bottomless coffee is a nice option! Spacious interior and lots of seating.

Eggplant Shakshuka + ShortRib Benedict

enjoyed a nice breakfast at altea's and although it was packed, we were able to get a table with no wait. they have plenty of tables of all sizes for any group size. shakshuka 8.5/10 short rib benedict 5/10 the shakshuka is tasty and filling, but it could have used another egg and more bread with it. the short rib benedict was okay, the short rib was not seasoned but it's a good idea with better execution. overall i'd get the shakshuka again or try their other options. ambiance: 2.5/5 food: 3.3/5 service: 3/5 altea's eatery: 3/5

The service was good, prompt and friendly. The noise level was low, it was comfortable for us to have conversation at our table. I had the breakfast poutine which was very good. Everything was hot and fresh.

Caramel latte

Stumbled upon this local spot while driving through Worcester and beyond lucky as found it. Parking is paid street parking or there are select free off street lots if you can find a spot. We had a 15 minute wait as it was fully packed so we ventured the surrounding stores and timed it perfectly. WOW! Everything from my latte to beignets was out of this world delicious. My latte was the perfect amount of bitter to sweetness from the caramel. I ordered the caramel apple crepes for a nice mid day snack. The crepes were crisp but fluffy and packed with flavor. The apples were perfectly sautéed inside and topped off with whipped cream and walnuts. My boyfriend ordered the braised short rib sandwich with home fries. It was a huge portion and the home fries came with mixed in fried onions. The short rib was tender and a well portioned amount. Our server Cara was an absolute delight. She was so charming and personable and checked in frequently for how crazy busy the restaurant was. We were stuffed and both had leftovers to take home but we could not resist ordering the sugared spice beignets. Highly recommend they were crunchy and soft and fluffy inside. The beignets come with a fresh strawberry sauce and whipped cream which were a great balance to the sugary sweetness. I could not get over how amazing the food was and it was all great sized portions for very reasonable prices. If you are in the Worcester area Altea's Eatery is an absolute MUST TRY!

Steak and Eggs

Service here was fast. From being seated, to our order being taken and the arrival of our food. Everything was fast. It's a small, tight layout, but they have a lot of employees for how busy it gets. They move very efficiently. We tried the seasonal apple cider mimosa, it was ok. The rim really paired well with the drink. It was fun, but not sure I would get it again. We ordered two egg and steaks. I enjoyed the bread (a lot!), the egg and potatoes. The size of the steak was perfect, but I'm not sure the cut is the right one for this dish. It wasn't tough, but it wasn't tender either. I also didn't like the seasoning on the steak. It was a bit salty and overpowering of everything else. I wouldn't get again. The staff was friendly and attentive, the ambience was chill and that of a very busy brunch spot. I would come again and try something else off their menu. They had a lot of other options that sounded delicious.

Tres Leche French Toast

I freaking LOVE this place omg I would eat here everyday if I had the funds to. All the food is amazing and addicting and huge. So let's go one by one: *Popcorn chicken Benedict- crunchy and hot popcorn chicken with a (I think chipotle?) sauce. My eggs on this one were unfortunately not runny like how I like them to be in eggs Benedict, but still good. I always switch out the fries with a side salad which is an extra cost but it just goes so much better, the make the meal feel as heavy. *Corned beef Benedict- As you can see I love eggs Benedict in different fonts. Also very good, the eggs were indeed runny in this one. Beef is not too salty like how it sometimes is in corned beef. *Tres leches French toast- wow. I'm actually not too big of a sweet tooth, but this was perfect as dessert. It looks and sounds unbareably sweet, but surprisingly it's not as sweet as you would expect? But still sweet? Idk it was a good balance. I definitely couldn't eat this as my actual meal though, this should be reserved for dessert. *Breakfast poutine- My boyfriend got this one, it's pretty good. He really enjoyed it but personally I wouldn't order it for myself because it's very heavy and I would probably get heartburn. The only downside is that it can get pretty busy, and you may have to wait to get seated. Also since it's busy sometimes the waiters are frazzled and service is a bit slow so don't come here if you're in a rush. However that's not the waiters' fault, they are always very nice and trying their best! With it being busy, it can get a bit loud and depending on where your seat is, you may be sitting shoulder to shoulder with the dude at the table next to you. But it's kind of a vibe?

Burnt biscuit sandwich
Latoya G.

Since I moved close by, I've heard of this place. Read great reviews....On this day, I had a nail appointment in the area. My nail tech recommended this establishment if I wanted something quick to take out since I couldn't dine in. She suggested the homemade biscuit sandwiches. I called and placed the order. When they answered they said hello about ten times, not exaggerating. It was so loud in there they couldn't hear me. I asked the person who answered the phone if they had any Turkey options. He wasn't sure so he handed the phone to a lady. She couldn't hear me either and I had to repeat myself about 5 times. She then stated no but they have chicken sausage. So I ordered THREE chicken sausage, egg and cheese on a biscuit. Total was $30 something dollars (s/n: everything is so flipping expensive...everything...back to the review). They advised 20 minutes which was perfect. I get there and it was really loud in there. All seats except for 2 tables were occupied. I paid the bill and left. I was so hungry that I couldn't wait until I got home so I started to eat my sandwich in the car. As I'm eating it, there's a burnt taste. I take another bit...same taste. I then look at it, turn it over and the bottom of the biscuit is black. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!! I get home to check the others....ALL THREE BURNT BISCUITS! I was upset! $30 something dollars for THREE biscuits and EACH were burnt. If Althea's reads this review...please don't serve this. This ruined my experience and I will never return to your establishment again. You should take pride in what you serve and if you're serving your customers burnt food, that shows your passion to this food industry. If it's burnt...throw it out.

The breakfast my wife and I ordered was fantastic. I had the corn beef hash and she had the popcorn chicken. Each was very filling and we did not finish our plates. Our waitress was very friendly and explained the dishes on the menu. The place is very family friendly, yet couples could share a moment here.

What time is it good to go for brunch to get mimosas there?

We went on a Friday at noon and the full bar was available as far as I know.

What's parking like? Is there a parking lot for customers or street parking? Thanks !

There is parking on the street and I recall a waitress telling another patron there was parking around the back but it may require going around the other side of the block. Hope this helps!

Is this place very noisy?

Honestly it depends when you go. Prime brunch time is definitely not quiet. I'd even say yes it's loud.

Their food tends to be hearty and comforting. A few dishes I have tried and enjoyed include: - The cassoulet, which is not a traditional French cassoulet at all, but it is comforting and filling. I would give it an 8/10 (ask for extra bread). - The baked brie is really good and comes in a big portion. I would give this a 10/10. - Le Jardinier is an open-face veggie sandwich. It has a lot piled on the bread, so it can get a bit soggy, but it is a good lighter option if you do not want one of their heavier dishes. 7/10. - The gratin is sooooo good. It is a super decadent mac and cheese with thin slices of prosciutto. 10/10 - Chaider (not a food item) is my favorite drink. It is a mix of chai and apple cider 10/10. - The duck house potatoes and eggs are good, but if your eggs are overcooked, the dish can be a bit dry since there is no sauce. I think an option to add hollandaise would potentially elevate this dish. 7/10. The gougeres, beignets and crêpes are also good.

My son's plate was accidentally thrown away because other plates were stacked on top of it. When I asked about it, the server explained what happened but did not offer to remake it, remove it from the bill, or apologize, which was disappointing. That said, it was a busy Friday during Restaurant Week, so I would consider coming back and hope the service is smoother next time. While writing this review, I actually received a text from the restaurant letting me know we left our son's plate behind, which was thoughtful and appreciated. If Yelp allowed half stars, I would give 3.5.

We arrived at 1:45 and walked into disarray. No one to great us, no host or hostess, just a lot of confusion. There was no record of my friend's reservation. We learned there was a 2:30 seating and that took us by surprise. We waited at the bar and had a few drinks. This had me feeling anxious. We heard them discussing table seating for different parties, but when I asked, my friend's name was still not added to a seating list. It seemed there was no one in charge. As 230 approached, we were told we can follow them into the seating area and while other tables had the parties names on small placards, still there was nothing on the two open two-seaters tables. We sat, and waited. On a positive note, we were the first table to be told the food was ready and we could go into buffet. No complaints about the food, it was pretty good. The final irritation was when our bill came, and I handed my credit card to the server. She seemed to be taking a long time to return with my card so I got up and went looking for her. I approached the bar and found her discussing an issue with a co-worker about another diner's bill. All the while holding my card in her hand. I stood at the bar, be ignored until I politely asked if there was a problem with my credit card. They snapped out of their daze and apologized to me. We wrapped up the transaction, and we left. As I said, the food was good, but maybe because it was a special holiday buffet everything was messed up?? Not sure. Not a pleasant experience. Good food can't make up for the ridiculous absence of good service. Doubt I'll return.

The entire restaurant was empty aside from 2 tables when we arrived. They crammed us literally 6 inches away from 1 of the 2 tables filled. I initially was taken aback but the two ladies sitting next to us kindly slid their table over a tad to give us more space (we were beside a wall to the other side near the door). Honestly - I'm glad I didn't say anything because by 5:30 the entire restaurant was filled and it was nice to have nobody on one side of us. They served bread drizzled with olive oil with some olives to start. There was nothing particularly wrong with the bread, however, being a Greek restaurant, it may have made a lot more sense to serve fresh warm pita as the starter bread course. We ordered the Feta Saganaki to start. That was absolutely the star of the entire show! Very crispy on the outside with a hot gooey feta cheese on the inside, drizzled with ample amounts of honey, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Absolutely to die for. I started with the Greek sangria - it was fine, but nothing special. My husband got one of the three espresso martini options and he really enjoyed his drink. The restaurant got busy very quickly and it didn't seem they had enough waitstaff on. Everyone was sort of running around with their heads cut off, and service was slow and inattentive at times. For dinner, I had the moussaka. It was very salty and the béchamel sauce on top was sort of gelatinous. It didn't taste bad, but it was a very odd consistency. My husband got the kebab plate with steak and chicken. It was served over a bed of rice with a small side salad. Nobody came back to the table to ask how our meals were after serving us. We really needed salt and pepper, which was not on the table and my husband wanted to order another drink. We had to ask two different servers before we got the drink, but never got the salt or pepper. We took a piece of baklava home to enjoy after the show. It was delicious! We are not in the area and it's unlikely that we would be back to this restaurant in the future.
