Ok this is the best store ever! My sister, cousin and I stumbled into this store after a wedding…read moreweekend and we were so surprised how much we loved all the pieces! We all have individually different styles and tastes, but somehow the owner kept bringing us suggestions that were SPOT ON! I didn't know Natalie was the owner until later, but up until that point I was like "ok this person needs to be a professional stylist or something!" (Duh, she runs this store so she's doing exactly what she should be doing with her talent!) Natalie could pick up our cues and notice what styles we liked, and yet she would suggest certain new styles that I didn't even know I would like! My sister said she was literally going to cancel Stitch Fix and just ask Natalie what to buy! That's exactly what this experience is --- stitch fix but in person! I really appreciate that she even went to the back and gave us choices on items that weren't on the floor yet - it made us feel special! Plus she knew what was coming in style, which was nice to know because I really don't follow fashion. The pieces at this store are exactly my style: almost an Anthropologie vibe but more staple pieces and slightly preppy. Basically anyone can find something they like here! There are some simple pieces but hang really well on the body, no matter what size you are. I LOVE the fall/winter looks and I was tempted to buy sweaters and jackets even though it was 93 degrees out LOL! (Store is nicely air conditioned.) I also like the price range, which isn't insanely stupid expensive but quality pieces deserve the accurate pricing. (Ranging from 30-$120, not like $250+ like some LA boutique stores.) We liked so many pieces that we kept checking out with more and more items! I didn't even mean to stay for that long! Natalie- we still rave about you and your amazing customer service!! Thank you for a great shopping experience!

The folks working were AMAZING! They were kind, encouraging, and attentive without feeling pushy. Eloisa was especially magical, helping my friend feel comfortable and seen. Sloan has a lot of fun clothing with reasonable prices. Eloisa helped us put together great outfits and was especially encouraging. I think the only thing I would encourage is an increased range of sizes (into the XL+ arena) so that more body types ca be served.

I was so glad that I did a recent visit. My previous time dropping in was a complete mess…read more Apparently they took a lot of notes because they massively improved. First of all, their underwear area was a complete disaster the last time I visited. The floor was completely covered in bras, almost piled up to my knees... I was very confused like I must have missed the apocalypse. This time I was able to really see all of the merchandise! It was laid out so nicely on racks. I swear they used to have carpet... all I know is that it was smooth concrete, so easy to walk around and I don't have to dig through things to find my size. This isn't a bin situation. They also rearranged the shoes and the aisles do seem a touch smaller there which, as far as complaints go, that is a small one. It was also nice that their sizes and the way each of the racks are marked seemed way better. I am a sort of odd sizing and ladies, can we discuss for a moment a few key things. Those of us with substantial breasts... why do all clothing manufacturers want to put a billboard of some type on our chest? And since I am a larger size now and older... it's nice that you want to allow us to show off parts but everything is either a tent or I'm practically naked. And, stop making clothing for larger sizes with material that has zero give. I'm going to rip it even just trying it on! I did find several amazing dresses though that were just perfect... showing off the curves without horribly uncomfortable material. You can always tell the trends happening while going down. The line waiting for a register. This season we are into cloth bandages, obnoxious swizzle sticks for your drinks and pickleball which I am so exhausted hearing about.

Lots of great finds, just not the right sizes. Things were everywhere, floor to wrong racks. Staff…read moremembers in the fitting rooms were super friendly and helpful. Cashiers were also very friendly. Other than those two time, that was the only interactions I had with staff. Still my number 1 place to find shoes.

I practically buy every gift for my mother here and usually spoil her because the display outfits are gorgeous. I wasn't shopping for myself but found a beautiful pair of pants for easter and my vacation this spring. Cindy helped me with an entire outfit that's so wonderful. Thank you La Paloma Clothing for continuing to be the best small boutique in Portland!

Just a year after my first review, and I've come to love Paloma all the more…read more A fun point I missed in my original review is: Paloma has been around forever... Well, at least my whole lifetime(+), and that's a while at this point ;). My relationship with Paloma, has changed from a shop where I looked at pretty things, as a little girl with my grandmother - to a staple. Paloma is my go-to place when I am seeking something special and unique for the loved ones in my life. Paloma never lets me down with their expansive collections of accessories, bags, locally made jewelry, and high quality US made clothing lines, such as: Cut Loose and Tianello. Being rather petite, the clothing at Paloma is not always available in my size. However, the pieces I have bought for myself, are some of my favorites. On the other hand, the jewelry is where I really go a bit overboard for myself. I can't resist the exceptional selection of handmade rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. At first glance you may think Paloma to be a stuffy boutique, but the shop gals are ever so helpful, and friendly. I had worried bringing my kids into the shop would be frowned upon. This is not the case. I've discovered I am welcome to bring the kids in with me. Paloma even has a basket full of toys to keep the little ones busy. In my case, this means I make it into the shop much more frequently than I did before. One last thing: Paloma is an active supporter of community it serves. They support us, and I love to support them by continuing to shop local in their store. 2017 #5

But during a recent visit, I didn't have the best customer experience. The store is geared toward a specific demographic, that I'm outside of, so none of the staff greeted me, no friendly hello or welcome in, but they happily talked to every other customer in the store, which was off putting. So even though I liked many of the items that I saw, I chose not to buy anything. I've been to other White Birch locations and had better experiences.

The store is spacious, filled with natural light, with wide aisles so you can take your time perusing the various areas with ease. And it smells wonderful! The main and OG store is in Hillsboro and items move back and forth between locations so there is always something new. Seasonally, they augment the merchandise with holiday items. If you are looking for a gift, or a pick me up for yourself, it's easy to find something here. A fun selection of earrings and jewelry, hand soaps, specialty pantry items for that foodie in your life, pretty dresses, jeans, pillows and throws, candles, cookbooks - it's all there. A little of this and a little of that. The young lady working there the day I visited was so friendly and welcoming. She gave me the genesis of the store in Hillsboro and the decision to open up this second location. she encouraged me to stop back in, especially during the October- December season when there are even more holiday items. Located in the new strip mall on NE Cornell and Stalzman, it's super convenient with plenty of parking. Grab a coffee next store and then take a cruise through White Birch.

Sometimes I'll stop at Fred Meyers if desperate, but this Freddy's is just too big for me and you can't just run in and out. Also like The Backyard Garden Shop which has great selection of fun and unique yard art, bird feeders, plants and so much more! There are lots of ethnic restaurants in this square. Even a few gas stations including Fred Meyers Gas where you get discounts. And surrounded by even more stores and restaurants.
