The work quality seems to have taken a nose dive. You should come here if you like shoddy work with crummy attitude give your business to George. I have stitches missing on a basic alteration (see picture attached). Don't know how George managed to do this. On top of all this, his attitude is he is giving the customers a favor. I can't say this with enough conviction avoid this place at all costs. I had a suit pant shortened and a jacket sleeve shortened and got charged $80! If that doesn't piss you off consider this. While I was trying on my suit a woman came in to get her jeans hemmed and quoted her a price of $15. I mentioned this to him and he says jeans are $15, and I had slacks those are $20. You see where I'm going with this yet? He then tells me to hem the sleeves and NOTHING ELSE on the jacket would cost me $60!! Bottom line, go to Nordstrom where they will do it for $15. I wanted pants hemmed and he refused to hem them the length I wanted. They were very flared and needed to be long and he wouldn't do it and kick me out of his store. The location itself is no frills, but don't be discouraged by the initial appearance. They are always so reasonably priced- 5 dollars for your jeans to be hemmed! Other alterations they do just as well and I have trusted them with some of my most expensive and delicate clothes. They are super caring and always try to get the work done quickly for you. OK. I just got back from George Alterations and I had to write a review. I've taken him several of my husbands pants and slacks in the past and he's always done a great job. And super reasonable. So today I took in this blouse I LOVE but have never worn because it poofs big time at the shoulder, right at the sleeve line. He shook his head and then said "give me". Less then 5 minutes later he had me put it back on. It looked amazing. And he sent me home. NO charge. Said "Go, and have a nice day". Then went back to his machine with a smile. I seriously thought he'd have to take the whole sleeve off because the poof was soooo big. It looked like I could stick a big olive in it. Always knew he was a genius with a sewing machine. This past Saturday I called at 2pm asking if he would be able to put a tiny hook in the side of a cocktails dress where the hidden zipper ended. He said hustle and get over there as he was closing shortly and the kicker was I needed it done that day! He waited for me and did it in seconds on the spot. Not only is this scumbag overpriced , he lied to me and also did not do the work as negotiated. He told me my shirt's sleeves could not be tapered he told me that the sides could only be taken in a certain amount and that it would require him to take remove the seams and restitch " a lot of work" and it would ruin the structural integrity of the shirt. But agreed that 4 inches was possibly After I picked up my shirt a few days later I decided to take in to another tailor because i was not too happy with the end result. The other tailor told me all he did was add dots on the back that made it appear like it was tapered and the seams were not even touched. The new tailor also told me that the sleeves can be tapered without ruining anything. what a waste of like 60-80 bucks. read more

He seemed to think I was really into it - he didn't seem to get my HINTS to the contrary. I was slightly hesistant, as he took my jeans and put them on a pile with about a dozen other pairs and only took my phone number down. NEVER EVER COMING HERE AGAIN!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! IF YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH an A**HOLE (GEORGE), COME HERE! I found this place through Yelp, so thought I'd check it out since it had decent reviews and was close to my office. I brought a pair of pants to get altered. I specifically told the man I wanted the option to wear it with flats or heels and it's really important to make sure it doesn't drag. He measured it and I mentioned again I want to make sure it doesn't drag because it seemed a little long. He convinced me it was perfect and it won't drag. Two days later, I went to pick it up, paid for it (big mistake I paid first), and then asked if I could try it on before I leave. It's still too long and was hitting the floor. I told George I wasn't happy with the length. He kept trying to convince me it was perfect....how is it perfect if it's hitting the floor? Then he kept saying, well maybe you wore it higher when you had it measured or you're bending over....always blaming the customer!!! I told George I wanted it shorter. He said to come back the following day to have the other man measure it and he'll charge me AGAIN! I asked why should I have to pay again if I'm not happy with it. He said he measured it perfectly, I confirmed it was ok, and he was sure it was altered exactly as measured it, then reminds me I was going to be charged AGAIN. I left and told GEORGE, he just lost my business and I will NEVER come back again!!!!!!! I was so upset, I wasted $15 on alterations that don't even work for me (ughhhhhh) and I got bullied by Mr. George, the A**HOLE! read more

Did he do the job? Yes. Was he nice, friendly, or professional? No. The place is kind of a mess. Piles of jeans every where. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason to it. He took two pair of my jeans, only took my phone number on a small invoice pad and gave me no receipt or ticket to pick them up.(which I found odd, considering I just left about $400 worth of jeans with him! yeah, woman's jeans are WAY over priced these days!) A WEEK later, I go to pick up my jeans and surprise, surprise it took him 10 minutes to find them, and then gave me attitude about it. Not cool! I found George a few years ago on another review website and couldn't be happier. I pin my own jeans or pin a note with the inseam length I want and voila! They are done to perfection a few days later for $6 a pair. Yes, his receipt system is unconventional but I've never had a problem picking up the correct pants.
