If I could give zero stars, I would. I pulled up and smoked outside of my car before going in nothing unusual, people smoke cigarettes outside of businesses every day. I hadn't even stepped foot inside yet. When I finally went in, all I wanted to do was return a key fob to someone I know who worked there. Instead, the owner, Nick Tirabassi, was unbelievably rude, waved his hand in my face, and claimed I was "bringing drama" because I had been smoking outside. He even fired the employee on the spot in front of me, blaming me for it, even though I barely knew him and was literally just returning his belongings. The way Nick handled this situation was unprofessional, disrespectful, and hostile. No customer should ever be treated this way. This place is awful. I have had two occasions where their customer service has been terrible. The first time, I took a pair of jeans to be cleaned and when I got around to wearing them again they were a shrunk one and a half sizes at least, from a men's 40 to 36, most notably in the legs. When I took the pants back, the older gentleman that works there refused to honor covering his damages. He then asked me what size is my inseam. I don't know man, let me take out my tape measure and safety pins. After that incident, I stopped going for about a year. Fast forward to Summer of '24, I gave them another chance for things I knew there was no possible way for them to mess up, but I stand corrected. The second incident occurred when I dropped off 10 items very early in the morning, to the same guy that shrunk my pants. He collected them and asked me if I wanted same day pickup, I said yes, and was delighted I could have my garments back in the same day. 5:30pm rolls around and I go pick up my garments to find out their power has been out all day and they are not able to accept cards as a form of payment right now. That's understandable, so I asked if there would be a concession on the SAME DAY PRICE if I picked up my clothes the next day since they were accepting cash only and I didn't have cash nor have I ever paid cash. The heavy set young lady at the front counter said no and was in fact extremely rude and exhibited absolutely no professionalism about the matter. She said she more or less only worked there and didn't set the rules... I got cash from across the street because I'd rather pay them to leave my life than ever do business with this establishment again. STAY AWAY FROM 818 CLEANERS read more

If you want your shirt shrank and then owner accusing you that you washed it at home and tried to trick him like a low life and insulting you that you would do something like this, then this is the place for you. This place RUINED the buttons to my Chanel cardigan (should've known better to take it there) which was clearly stated on the label to cover before laundering. He even stated they do not read clothing labels. The owner, Nick had the audacity to tell me find new ones on Craigs list. After multiple arguments i threatened to sue and finally he said to file a claim which he didn't submit until I called their insurance company. He didn't realize I was able to find the insurance company name. After couple months I recd the claim amount which was sent to him. but the owner told me I had to give him my cardigan if I wanted the money. You don't avoid trash bc you're scared but bc it's dirty. DO NOT use this business. He takes no accountability for his fault. He treats customers like trash. His wife is nice but in time he will ruin his own business. Shame on you, Nick. read more

I really feel sorry for having to leave such a horrible review to a local small business, but I need to let people know my experience so that the same situation doesn't continue to happen to others like me. I am a stylist and I collect rare and vintage designer garments from all over the globe. I brought in a Craig Green button up with tassels that hang from the garment. I told them when I brought it in, "Be super careful, this is an expensive piece." I came back the next day only to notice that the material on the tassels had all been weathered down to the point where you could see the metal shining through.. I went back to show them the damage they had done on one of my most unique and favorite garments, and they said that the owner "Nick" would call me. He called me and said that he would take responsibility for damaging my garment and pay me, until i told him that it was a $700 button up. He told me that he didn't believe me and that I needed to show him a receipt. First of all, I bought this button up 3 years ago.. I don't have a receipt. Not to mention, I bought it second hand from a seller in Japan. I tried to calmly explain over the phone that he ruined my garment, and he proceeded to argue that, "There's no way it costs that much! You're trying to scam me!" and that, "It's not like you bought it from Nordstrom or something!" As if Nordstrom is the most high end store he could think of.. This clearly shows his lack of knowledge in fashion overall. No Nick, in fact I did not purchase it from Nordstrom because it is a one a kind piece.. He told me that he's been working with clothing for decades and he knows the value of certain items. If that were the case then maybe you'd be able to tell that this item is irreplaceable, and a lot more pricey then something you'd find at Nordstrom.. Then he started looking up random Craig Green button ups from more recent years that were much cheaper, saying that he found the same one online for $300 and I told him I'd love to see that because if that were the case I'd buy that one and resell it for what it's worth! $700!! Haha. I told him to send a picture of the one he found because I knew he was lying, and of course he never sent one picture and kept changing the conversation. Again, I was really trying to keep my cool and explain to this combative man how clothing works but I guess he just didn't want to hear it, so he then hung up on me mid sentence! I called him back and of course he lied about hanging up on me. I know.. comical right? After another good 20 minutes of talking to this man like a child in the most peaceful tone possible, he told me he would give me $300 for what he believed the item was worth. At that point I realized I'm not getting anywhere with this man. I might as well just cut my losses, and leave a yelp review because that's all I can do at this point. Again, I hate to have to leave a review like this but honestly I gotta help protect others in the area around me so that this guy doesn't destroy your garments as well. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new dry cleaner. This place is near my home so I thought this was my best bet. The first time I went, I had something to hem (which I had already pinned myself) and when I got there they wouldn't do it - even though their signage and info says they do alterations. I dropped my cleaning anyway and when I went to get it my sweaters were all hung in the wire hangers which put dents in all the shoulders. I asked them if hey could fold them next time and note on my account to please not hang knits (though I would think this would be general practice) they said they would. Dropped clothes off again, same thing. When I pointed it out I think the owner happened to be there and they steamed it out right there. Okay, thank you. Third time, I picked up my stuff and again last week and same thing. When I showed the girl there and said it puts dents in the shoulders, she said "it's not my fault." Which I thought was an off response to this, but I said "well can I leave it to be fixed?" And she seemed really confused by this and said "I have to ask the owner, can you come back?" and when I said well I just need it steamed out and since it's a mistake on your end can I not have to make another trip? And she then said "okay, I don't need you getting aggressive with me." What? I honestly couldn't believe my ears. This girl had no interest in helping me, not friendly at all, then calls me aggressive for trying to find a solution to this? Honestly, I will never come back here. The owners may be decent people and I am sorry for leaving a bad review because I generally prefer to support small businesses, but please get rid of this employee as she couldn't have cared less about having customers. read more

Have been going to this cleaners now for about 6 years! I love the owners Nick and Marti. They are very friendly and remember their customers. The afternoon clerk, Ina, is also a joy to see when I come to pickup. They took care of all of our soft goods after the Woolsey Fire, doing dropoff and pickup, and did a great job getting the smoke stink out!!! Nick and his team have always worked hard to take care of our clothes, and not ruin them when they know that it's something they can't fix. I've taken hopeless shirts and pants to them before, and they've gotten stains out I thought impossible! And on the other side of the coin, they have taken stained things I've brought in and tested them to see if they could get the stain out, and when they realized they couldn't, they told me and gave the item back. There is a lot to be said about that kind of honesty, because they easily could have just run the clothes fully knowing they couldn't get the stain out and charged me, but they didn't do that. read more

They've always been dependable cleaning my clothes in a timely manner. The only downside is that it's a very small parking lot shared with a handful of other businesses, making parking difficult when the lot is full (which is most of the time). Other than that, I've never had a problem with 818 Cleaners and can't recommend them enough. read more

This place put holes in my $200 dress and then refused to even give me back the $15 I spent for the dry cleaning service. When I went back to complain the owner was convinced that he could steam the holes closed. He did it twice and what a surprised holes are still there. He then preceded to tell me that it's the only way to hang a strapless dress...Well I drape it over the hanger at home and it never falls. I also told him that once the fabric is punctured the hole will gradually get bigger and he told me that's false....it has happened before and I only have worn this dress once and the only reason the fabric is compromised is because they did it. read more

I have been using 818 cleaners for several years now and had found them to be excellent with a quick turnover. However last week they went above and beyond my expectations and I have to write about it. I had gone out for the evening with some friends wearing a long sundress and my favorite white sweater. Carrying a glass of red wine (you guessed it) my dear friend stumbled and splashed the wine all over my sweater as well as the bottom of my dress. Not holding out much hope I brought both items into the cleaners. After telling me to give them a couple extra days they would try their best to get the stains out. Welllll..... when I came to pick up the items Ena showed me how the stains had been removed after their extra work. So upset with this dry cleaners! I took my formal dress to be dry cleaned there. It has a beaded strand neckline. I pointed it out to the lady that this was very fragile, and to please take great care. When I picked it up the next day, three strands we're missing. The lady was like "oh, well". I asked if they could locate the beads. She stated that they most likely had gone down the drain of the washer. THE WASHER???!!!! I said the dress was fragile!!! "Oh", she says "you should of asked for it to be dry cleaned instead of laundered". I said it was fragile, and showed the beaded neckline to you, and to take great care cleaning this dress, I NEVER asked for it to be laundered. "Oh, Sorry, that will be $15.00 bucks". I went here instead of my regular place because the owner came by our house offering to sell us a coupon discount card. Luckily I didn't fall for it and I didn't buy the discount card but I promised I would give them a try. I took in a large order of my husbands dress shirts to be laundered or dry cleaned. When I went in to pick up the shirts to be dry cleaned were fine but the laundered shirts were all very wrinkly. I had a large order with over 5 shirts to be laundered and they were all wrinkled. Laundering shirts is a basic job and I have been taking my husbands in for years and never has the work been so sloppy. I took a pair of expensive jeans there to remove a stain and to get the jeans dry cleaned. Much to my dismay when I picked up the jeans, the stain was not only still there, but the area around the stain was discolored. I decided to give them a chance and asked that they fix the problem and they assured me that they could fix it. A couple days later when I picked up the jeans again I see there were multiple areas where the discoloration was apparent. The employee stated it was the style of the jeans and the discoloration was already there. My $200 designer jeans are now ruined. This cleaners is A+...they cleaned my couches cushion covers for 50 dollars and it looked brand new. Every year I pay a carpet style cleaning service 250 dollars and it isn't half as clean. They did twenty pounds of fluff and fold when I first moved to the area when we didn't have a washer yet. In one day!!!! It was perfect and folded. They have done multiple rugs and always have my shirts pressed perfectly all the way to the seems. They deliver and are affordable. Customer service is outstanding!
