Really like this quaint steakhouse in Centennial. Our server - Dava - is excellent and very nice. Both of us had the NY strip with the cheese medallions as an appetizer. We really liked our meal. We stayed at the Old Corral for five days on a recent ski trip, and were ver pleased with the accommodations. The rooms were charming and clean, and the front desk hospitality was excellent. Fresh coffee daily! The owner and front desk staff were attentive and helpful at making other local recommendations for evening activities and food. The linens are getting a little shabby and could be replaced. The fans in the bathrooms are loud and need maintenance. Adding a humidifier rental option would be wonderful, since the air is so dry. The food at the steakhouse was fine, but paled in comparison to other locations nearby. However, for our very large group, they did a nice job. Overall we were pleased and would stay again. read more

We drove across the country stopping here for the hotel and restaurant. It was Sunday evening so they were out of lots of things. The food they did have was good enough. Steak was decent. Sides were fine. The service was very good, folks were all very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend stopping here, assuming they'd be better equipped in the middle of the week. read more

Best meal in town thus far. Our meals were very good. We had a prime rib salad and prime rib stroganoff. Our cocktails felt like we were stealing them. Let's just say a healthy pour and I haven't paid $8 for a Manhattan in a decade. We split a slice of pie for dessert. Don't skip the pie. Really. Just don't. I will say that our server brought it out at room temp. We asked him to heat it and throw a scoop of vanilla on it. That was the right move. Upon further questioning he informed us that it was served room temp because it fell apart a bit when heated. He was right, but I'll take some warm pie that's a tad messy anytime. I apologize for going on about the pie, but it was really good. Finally, the service was simply kind and genuinely good. I almost never order salmon at restaurants because I like the way I cook it at home, but that bourbon glaze was delicious and the salmon was cooked just rare enough for my liking. More like 2.5 stars. Doesn't live up to the hype as far as service and food are concerned. I called on Friday to make a reservation for Sunday. Julian answered the phone and said he had two spots open, 7:45 and 8:30, so I chose the 7:45. Day of on our way back from Medicine Bow (which is amazing, btw), we were about an hour early so we stopped to see if we could get seated early. The guy at reception (not Julian), looked for my reservation and couldn't find it. (!) He said it was a good thing we came early because they close at 8!(?) We got seated and we waited a while before our server came. He was very friendly and polite. He took our drink order and it took a very long time. One of us ordered a Manhattan, and even tho it's on their cocktail menu, they had no bitters or martini glasses, bar staples. I ordered a Raspberry Rum off the menu and it was very weak and sickly sweet. I went out front to smoke. When I came back through, I heard a couple complaining about their meal, which I decided to disregard at the time. I ordered the porterhouse with wild rice and herbed carrots. I was disappointed. For $56 the serving size on the sides was scant. The rice was very salty and overcooked with too much water (gummy texture). The carrots may have started out from fresh but were cooked to mush. Turns out herbed means butter and parsley. The steak itself was a bit over cooked and on the dry side. My BF had the walleye and spent the whole meal picking bones out of his mouth. His dad had the avalanche burger, which he enjoyed. Their gift shop was ok and I bought a couple of keychains as souvenirs. The decor is cool and rustic. If you're in Centennial anyway it might be interesting to look around. But, if I'm ever there again I will definitely try someplace else. Definitely not worth the $165. read more

We arrived on Wednesday night around 6:00. The next available table was at 7:15. Reservations are definitely needed. Our server was friendly and excellent. We each had the 12oz NY Strip at market price. The steak seemed way larger than 12 oz. It was huge for a NY strip. It was cooked perfectly to our preference. The sides were fresh and exactly as expected. I cant recommend this place enough. They have market price listed to continue to serve high quality steak. The rest of the menu is priced well. We stopped at the lodge on the way and had dinner at the steaks house. This was one of the best experiences we had on a 3 week trip. The steakhouse was short staffed but we were served quickly, the drinks were good, and the food was very fresh, tasty and served in generous portions. Prices compared with other WY towns were very reasonable and alcohol was actually cheap. The atmosphere is very enjoyable - tables are not super close to each other, the fireplace and room decor were a nice touch. The gift shop located in the same building had some nice snow mountain items also very reasonably priced. Pay attention to the size of the steak - they are huge! The fried walleye was very fresh, the steak perfectly cooked, and pasta with grilled chicken quite good for a non-Italian place. The peach pie was amazing as well. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Loved this experience and would stay and dine here again. read more

My husband was looking forward to dinner in this restaurant because of a great memory he had from some years ago. Turned out the dinner was not just a complete disappointment in food quality but also an astonishing surprise in the charge. We ordered the $56 Porterhouse Stake to share since it was a very large 26-oz stake. The food was not so great, and when we asked for the check, we noticed that we were charged $3 for the "extra plate" the server brought so we could share the stake. When we asked about this charge, we were told that we could find this charge printed on the very bottom of the menu page. I have never been charged for using an extra plate before, and I could never have imagined that the restaurant owners could come up with such a ridiculous charge. The server did not mention it either. The owners who come up with this idea should be ashamed of themselves. When we complained about the "empty plate" charge as we checked out, the manager told us that he would "tell his parents." read more

The onion rings were deliciously flavored and appeared to be slightly grilled. Fries were a unique spiral cut I have not seen before and somewhat crispy on the outside, just the way I like em. Both burgers were large and tastefully seasoned but the meat was just a little on the dry side. Overall I give them 5 stars and I would return again. I was excited about having some homemade strawberry/rhubarb pie but when we ordered our dessert they had just sold the last slice and it was only around 6:30 p.m. Seemed early to run out of a special dessert. I had chicken fried steak with gravy and mashed potatoes and it was fine. My husband had Chicken cordon bleu but it was dried out and not made up like a cordon bleu. He was very dissatisfied and told them and they gave us a slight reduction on the bill. Doubt we'd eat here again. read more

I loved it. The food at the steakhouse was great and you can beat the room prices. The room was clean and they have a tv/movie room and a social/ card playing room. There are books to read and free coffee and some snacks. The people were all really great and the neighboring businesses are also great. The little coffee shop was better stocked than our local Starbucks and breakfast across the street was fantastic. We had a really great time. read more

My brother my wife and myself had the ribeye steak and my sister-in-law had bourbon chicken and it was enough to where we brought it home for a second meal. I want to start by saying the homemade desserts and prime rib are truly delicious. The customer service by management however is atrocious. My husband and I have been visiting the steakhouse for many years for special occasions. We have always made reservations and reserved the prime rib with our reservation. We have never had anyone ever tell us that the policy of reserving the prime rib has changed. This year we followed tradition only to arrive for our reservation two hours after they started serving the prime rib, to find out it had been sold out. When I called to speak with management about this matter two days later, the manager kept trying to interrupt me and speak over me. When I asked him to politely wait until I finished speaking, he told me I was being belligerent and hung up on me. We will not be returning. Save yourself the headache and go across the street or hike into Laramie. read more
