One year ago, we asked Altobello if my wife's Ebel could be repaired since it was losing time. They would have to send it out since it's a special seal case. We agreed and settled on a price of$650 for the repair. It took approximately 4 weeks before we got it back. What we did not notice was the nob could be pulled and pushed to set the time, but the nob did not screw flush with the case. When I returned today to have it repaired to have the nob fixed, they rudely said that that issue was not part of the repair. Then the said the nob never screwed in. At that , I reminded them the nob had a slot for the screw driver to tighten the nob. Then they went to the web site to tell me the watch did not have that quality. I'm not sure what website they used,but there is no way of getting technical information without a phone call or email. I'm now in the process of contacting a licensed Ebel repair group to get it properly repaired. Frank treated me well initially, but the remaining staff did their dampest to blow me away with sales speak. I've been around too long to not know when I'm being handed garbage. read more

The salesperson was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and selected a ring out of the case that matched my e-ring perfectly. Stay clear of this mess of a store! Rude, unorganized, and horrific communicators. First, they like to guess about your jewelry and are usually insulting to say the least, they cant tell a diamond from another colored stone...STAY AWAY. Second, whoever helps you is the only one who can help you through having any work done. No one else has a clue what is going on and you have to keep calling THEM back..really annoying. Third, they never communicated a price to have work done, then, never told the guy who does all the work to go a head, then went ahead without my permission. Altobello customer service is awful! Frank the owner is rude and condescending to women. When the tiny diamonds fell out of the ring I purchased from them Frank said, I never guaranteed that the diamonds would stay in! They fall out because you wear your ring every day! Then he told me to get out of the store and not come back when I asked him to replace the diamonds. It is my wedding ring and I'm going to wear it every day even if he thinks I shouldn't. He went from 0 to 60 in about three seconds flat I have noticed that he talks differently to men then he does to women. My husband took an antique amethyst ring here because the stone had come loose. He also took an aqua marine ring for the same reason. I got it back and the amethyst stone was set crooked, and the aqua marine came loose after the first time I wore it. Disappointed it even got sent back to me like that. Altobello did a beautiful job of creating my engagement ring using one of their rose gold settings and my grandma's diamond. However, I was less than satisfied with everything that occurred after this purchase. The ring was too large so my fiancé and I brought it back for resizing. They didn't take the time to carefully measure my finger to see if a quarter size would be necessary, and when the ring was ready a full 8 days later, it was still too big. Went there to get an appraisal for my engagement ring because I needed an updated one for my insurance company. They were very upfront with me and helpful. I live in the area and explained to them that my insurance was going to be up soon and I needed the appraisal fairly quickly. The owner and his wife did a great job fitting me in, promising me that it would be done even quicker than I expected. The owners completed the watch adjustments quickly and in time for an upcoming vacation. It was tricky to remove the links, but they persisted and did a magnificent job for a very small price. Truly an awful experience. I purchased a watch from this place and the salesman told me to bring it back when it needed a new battery because there was a special waterproofing that needed to be done. My wife brought the watch back in to PAY for a new battery to be put in and the guy treated her like she was wasting her time and was just an overall jerk. I attempted to reach the store via phone and was met with an equally rude associate who sounded like a reject from the extras on the Sopranos. I asked if there was a manager or anyone I could talk to (before he even knew I had a complaint) and he told me "No that they were a little tied up with important things and the he would "Remember me" in a threatening manor. I then went to a great jeweler in downtown Wheaton who fixed their mistake, was very kind and did not charge me a dime. I have shopped at the Altobello Jewelry Store since 2005 when I purchased my wife's engagement ring, wedding ring and my wedding band. I have recommended the Altobello Jewelry store to all of my friends and family ever since. That ends today; I made a visit to the Altobello Jewelry store at 11:15am on 12/22/2016 to have a dead battery replaced for a wrist watch of mine. There were no customers in the store at this time but there were three employees, two men and a woman. The men ignored my entrance never looking up to greet me and the woman finally did. I asked for a battery replacement and she told me that they are "not replacing batteries today" but I was welcome to leave it with them and I could pick it up Monday, December 26th or maybe later today, no guarantees. "We can't get sidetracked with batteries when we should be helping other customers" Mind you as she speaks these words the store is empty and a battery replacement has never taken more than 10-15 minutes. I said no thank you and walked out, as I drove to my home I realized that was the poorest example of customer service I have experienced in some time and decided to call and speak to the owner. He interrupted me twice, stood behind his actions or lack thereof and hung up on me.
