I absolutely loved the work Latta did on my bridal gown. She was sweet, fun, thoughtful and had some great ideas (like using the leftover material from bringing the dress in to sew onto my jacket for the night of the wedding.) I also found the whole place to be filled with friendly, proactive people. They responded to emails when I had a wobble about an extra alteration I wanted, made sure everything was redone as I wanted it, and were quick and polite about it. I really felt like they cared about getting it completely right. They gave me advice on how to take it on a plane as well, which I really appreciated. I love this place. I drove 2 hours from Connecticut and 2 hours back just to drop off my garments. This Soho location is where you go for those special pieces you have been holding on to for a year and you need a tailor you can trust. I needed an expert tailor and I had a rather complicated project. I had bought a large men's shirt that I wanted to tailor to for me like a petite A-line dress. The tailor agrees to do it for me but he had to basically deconstruct the seams and reconstruct them to accomplish this. Atef listened to all my concerns and delivered! I've gone here twice and although my first experience was great my second was not and that's why I need to leave this review. I brought a floor length gown in with a small train to be hemmed in the front and have the leg slit closed a tiny bit. My husband was concerned about the train dragging all night and the tailor suggested a bustle - an idea which I loved! So he fitted a three point bustle. I went to pick it up yesterday and immediately saw the buttons he used are clear plastic and they dramatically stand out against the black gown. I tried on the dress hoping it didn't look as bad on but it did. I asked to speak with the tailor and I asked him why clear buttons were used and he said it's "standard." He went to look for black ones to switch it out but said they didn't have any. I told him I would probably just end up taking the buttons off and losing the bustle. I paid $300 for these alterations, $125 for a bustle alone which I said I'd end up removing. Really feel I should have been reimbursed for at least this portion because of how awful it came out. read more

I had my initial fitting, but afterwards needed to make adjustment after I bought new heels to wear with the pants I was having hemmed.
