I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am for the genius and talent of the tailors in this place! I've been working with Rita and Humberto on two of my wedding weekend looks. They are professional and extremely knowledgeable and skilled at what they do! Yesterday I left with the biggest smile on my face, and yes, little teary eyes (happy tears tho!), after I picked up my suit and (blazer and pants) and the pants for the rehearsal dinner. Rita was a joy to work with, expedited my looks (at no cost) and took upmost care of my garments. It really shows on the work. Humberto was also a pleasure to work with! They both really took their time to listen to what I wanted from the alterations and delivered AMAZINGLY! my blazer is beaded, so not the easiest to work with but Rita treated it with so much care and it shows! Wow. Where do I even begin with Alteration Specialists-- and the new love of my life, Myrna, in particular?! I came in frantically at opening time for a same day service desperately to seek help for a terribly botched hem job done by another tailor for my sister's wedding the next day. Myrna welcomed me with open arms and did me a HUGE favor by promising she could get it done, even in the busiest time of year for them. To top it all off, the facilities are super nice and Myrna makes it fun and light-hearted along the way. My dress was fixed within mere hours on the same day. I will be singing Myrna's praises from the mountaintops and I'll certainly only ever be bringing my clothes to Alteration Specialists from now on!! I had the privilege of working with Humberto to alter all of the looks I wore for my wedding weekend. These looks were pulled together from precious, one of a kind vintage pieces sourced and styled by Alexandra at Le Grand Strip. When the time came to get everything fitted - Alts was the only place to trust! The Alt studio in Williamsburg is glamorous and fun to be at. Humberto had the loveliest, calm and joyful energy and his attention to detail was unrivaled. He had ideas for how to supercharge the looks and fits, and also had opinions on when to leave this as is. In the end, the clothes looked like they were made for my body. I had an amazing experience getting my bridesmaid dress altered at Alts! The Williamsburg studio was pristine, welcoming, and the receptionists were so friendly from the moment I walked in. Lee Ann was absolutely phenomenal to work with. My dress needed both a hem alteration and bodice alterations, and she made the entire process seamless. She was incredibly kind while taking my measurements and asked all the right questions to make sure the fit was perfect for me. When I picked up the dress, it fit flawlessly and looked even better than I imagined. I brought in a wedding dress uncertain whether it was THE ONE. After seeing the beautiful space and welcoming staff I felt that I was in the right place. Myrna was reassuring in her assessment of the dress and made me feel excited to see how it would turn out. When I saw the finished product it fit like a glove and I was so happy that I had decided on this dress AND found the perfect person to alter it. Myrna works miracles. My wedding dress had a complicated design and bodice. The bodice just did not fit properly (too small in certain areas and too loose in others). Myrna took some material from the lining and shortened the train to put inserts into the bodice and tightened the bodice to fit my shape. My designer dress looked better after Myrna was finished with it. I had no anxiety throughout the process. I would recommend Alteration Specialists and specifically Myrna. wanted to leave a 5 star review for Yaser at Williamsburg branch... I took in 5 suits last week which were turned around super quickly, and to a very, very high quality. went back for a second fitting, but every one of them was perfect first time around. very grateful for the high quality service and at speed too. these off the rack suits were miraculously turned into tailor made versions (from a fit perspective) within a few days. amazing investment and Yaser was really awesome, skilled and charming. great job! read more

Humberto is so great! He fixed the all of the straps on the gown for me. It was originally my moms and I needed to get it taken in. It was done within a week rather than the full two weeks! He also noticed the price was a little high for the work and gave me a very reasonable price. I then brought in the mini dress a week later because the first two buttons fell off the first time I wore it. Humberto fixed the buttons for free and I can assure you the dress did not fall off this time around :) read more

She was extremely professional, talented and experienced. She added a beautiful bustle and was also able to offer advice on small details to help me complete the look.
