Moon Drops mixed drink

This is an overall great place! Drinks, food, service, ambiance, etc. were all top notch! We were seated immediately, and our waiter noticed the table wobbled a bit, so he fixed it without us having to even ask! The prices are fair especially for the quality of food and drink served! Parking isn't ideal, it is street parking only. We ubered there, so it was a nonissue for us, but it is something to keep in mind. I would say nice-casual dress attire is acceptable for the setting and overall vibe of the restaurant. There is indoor and outdoor seating available too.

Drinks were great.

Not really much to complain about. Good food, great drinks, and the ambience was great. Service was nice, she kind of checked on us too much but that's okay better than being ignored. Only glitchy part was the yelp app allows to do reservations, but the reservation system doesn't work. Also there is no phone number to call to make reservation or to see if they are busy or not. Came for an early dinner friday and was seated right away. Started to get busier later in the evening, but some people would sit at the bar or lounge seats on the side to have a drink till a table was available. Simple Italian menu, nothing overwhelming. Definitely will be coming back again.

Overall it was a pretty solid restaurant. We came on a Friday at 5:30. It was pretty empty so we got to sit ourselves. The staff was friendly. Space was clean and had a really nice decor. The food was good. We got the gnocchi and the highlight was probably the garlic bread in the side. The pizza was good but nothing out of this word. It was a solid pizza. The cocktails were really yummy and had a good amount of alcohol. Overall this is a great place to grab drinks, some quick appetizers and just hangout. I will be returning to try some other of their food like maybe the lasagna or another pizza.

My friend and I were out and about on a Friday night in Salinas and trying to find somewhere good to eat and get some drinks. I'm happy to report we had a really great experience at Altura. We came a little after 9 PM and there was no wait but a good amount of people there. The vibe here is laid back and chill but still feels a little more upscale than you'd expect. The service is stellar. Food comes out quick and my bartender actually brought me another drink because he had apparently left out an ingredient in the one he had made (though I honestly hadn't even realized haha). Our waitress was also super fun and attentive. For food, we ordered the Garlic Bread, the Shrimp Pesto Pizza, and the Ravioli with sausage. The Garlic Bread was surprisingly good -- crispy and very garlicy. Our waitress was the one who had recommended the Shrimp Pesto Pizza, but I honestly thought this was mediocre. Not super flavorful and could've used more sauce in my opinion. The ravioli was solid though and it was a very decent portion. To drink, I ordered the Forbidden Berry, while my friend got the OG Margarita. I liked how the Forbidden Berry was creamy and light without being too sweet. The Margarita was pretty strong, but no complaints there haha.

I brought my staff for a meeting here last week. What a delightful experience! I loved the outdoor seating, intimate setting, and the ambiance overall was perfect! The service staff was great. They greeted us immediately and didn't miss a beat. My entire staff was impressed with the decor, great food, and the owners. I couldn't ask for a better experience for my staff meeting. Who doesn't want to enjoy a delicious, filling meal while talking business? Next time i definitely want to try the cocktails and relax a bit. Try the lasagna it's amazing!! I'm craving it as I wrote this review.

I was in Salinas for the weekend and decided to try out this restaurant my first night. The food and service was so good I decided to have dinner there again the following night as well. Aside from the food being very good and reasonably priced, I also enjoyed the excellent service from the staff. I also ordered dessert both nights with coffee and they served me a Mexican coffee that was so good and it was only $5! Overall great spot to eat and I'd definitely eat there again next time I'm in town.

I have been meaning to stop by here since it opened and I finally got a chance. The vibe walking in around 5 was chill and only couple people inside. We had a seat at the bar and had couple signature cocktails recommended by bartender. As we sipped and enjoyed the cocktail and crispy chicken wings ( must order if you come in) we took in the crowd for the night. I'm told there is a jazz band that comes in every other Thursday night so I have to see if it gets a bit more exciting and diverse for a cozy lounge. Try the old fashioned - it's definitely worth it and smooth. Looking forward to next visit vibes.

We started with the All smoke No bite speciality Old Fashion- delicious! House green salad perfect and deliciousness for sharing. Got the to die for Ravioli, cheesy perfect sauce melt in your mouth. Served with garlic french bread, we shared with the combination pizza. Perfect - the thin crust, crusty edged so good - and the sausage. Yummy! We can't wait to come again.

Growers has a good setup--the bar is very lively and full, but it's not the first thing you see when you walk in, as it's off to the side. We had a nice booth, complete with real flower in a glass, and were served promptly by a pleasant lady. She helped me choose my entree, and was attentive and accommodating throughout our meal. I had the chicken Marsala, which is the best I've ever had (and I often order it in restaurants.). My husband had the bone-in pork chop. We had crème brûlée for dessert. Someone in our group took a photo behind the bar, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the bartender immediately became rude and escalated things. We were asked to leave, which is one thing--but what made the situation worse was that my card was still swiped and we were never served any drinks. After that, the bartender continued talking about us and involved another bartender, which turned into an unnecessary scene and got us kicked out. The interaction felt disrespectful, targeted, and completely unprofessional. If there was an issue with taking a picture, that could have been communicated respectfully instead of creating a hostile situation. As regulars, we expected better treatment and better customer service.

Zero bartending etiquette. She argues with patrons, she argues with her coworkers, I honestly don't really even know why she works there. The other guy has to tolerate her, and they appear to argue in front of patrons - it's not cute. He just stands there, staring at patrons as they sit waiting for drinks while the line gets longer and longer. Bartending is clearly not their jam. They have no signature cocktails, and the cocktails they do make are pretty bad. The karaoke is pretty egregious, it's like a guy who likes to sing poorly decided he wanted to set up karaoke just so he had a reason to sing sometimes and make other people listen to it. It's a dive bar, which in itself isn't bad. But it's like if you were driving through the bad part of Bakersfield and said "this place looks cool" and then stopped for a drink and then realized that it's Bakersfield but it's not. It's actually Salinas. You go here because you NEED to, because there's nothing else open, and then when this place closes you go to Jaime's. It's the second worst Salinas has to offer, and I'm saying that with optimism.

The restaurant has a great drink selection and a great menu. We were pleasantly surprised to learn they offer a Tuesday dinner special that includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for only $32! This menu also had a special drink selection. I ordered the house salad, prawn risotto, and chocolate lava cake. The salad was very fresh with spring mix and butter lettuce, which I especially enjoy, and it was topped with a light vinaigrette style house dressing that was light and delicious. The prawn risotto was creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The chocolate lava cake was rich and very chocolatey, a bit too rich for my personal taste, but still enjoyable. It also came with vanilla gelato, which was delicious. As a table, we also ordered the tableside tiramisu, which was such a fun and unique experience. I am a tiramisu connoisseur, so anytime I see it on the menu, I ordered it. It is my favorite dessert. Although this was not my favorite one, I very much enjoyed the experience. I will mention the espresso needs a little more time to fully soak into the ladyfingers, but the presentation and experience alone made it worth trying. The ambiance was lovely with nice background music, and the service was attentive and welcoming. Everyone in our party truly enjoyed their meal, especially the birthday girl. James Dean is in the 201 Main spot and uses the large, gorgeous patio. Though it is a bar with TVs and high seats, the patio is the best part about this venue, with fire pits, and a fountain wall. We found out they have a happy hour from 4 to 7 pm. Woohoo! Small bites like Chips and Dip and Garlic fries plus $5 to $7 beer, wine and drinks, you can get out of the house without breaking the bank. We had a Rodeo burger (barbecue sauce and onion rings) and the Pepperoni Pizza with a cauliflower crust. Both were delicious! The burger is good enough to stand against other burger joints like Islands. The pizza crust is crispy. Cauliflower crust is going to take getting used to because the crust is the most important part of the pizza. But for a night out to hear live music without having to go all the way to Monterey, this is a great place to go. The menu is small but you don't come here for the food anyway. Service is friendly. Band was fun. I went to follow them on IG, and see that it IS being marketed. I just didn't know the name of the place. They have TVs inside with sports. I'd come back.

Both for the service and pricing and also as the Salinas Rodeo Horse Parade turns right in front of the restaurant. To state that I was disappointed would be an understatement. I had reservations for myself and five of my friends for 10am, just as they were to open. We arrived at 9:55 to find the doors locked. By 10:15, one of my friends left as we were standing in the cold. At 10:20 the door was finally opened and we were advised, they were still "getting ready" but we could come inside. Why allow reservations when the door will not even be unlocked? The buffet was nothing to rave about, food was adequate, salmon very dry, sausage not cooked well, typical buffet food. The wait staff was inattentive, water and coffee both ran dry. The icing on the cake was the pricing, the website stated $32 for the buffet, while in the restaurant the pricing was $35. If the staff would have explained, they are not charging a tax on top for the cost of the meal, it would have been accepted. However no one explained that, only that yes, they were aware the website and menus differed, and no, they would not make an adjustment. Had that been explained, it would have been fine. The online posted cost of $32 plus the tax of 9.25% would have been $34.96. Just under the $35 we were charged. Why not just explain that? I will not be back, nor will I recommend this place to my friends in and traveling to town.
