I had them come re-sand and reseal, and the sand filled in is falling apart on one side of my patio as well as the edges in only a few months. They came a second time to try to fix it. Told them to let me know when they come because I want to be there whey they start so I can see what they're doing. I did not trust they were doing it well. They came out but didn't let me know and only after they had started, they came to me. That pissed me off, because I explicitely told them to wait until I am outside with them because of that and that I had questions. That request was blatantly ignored. Now about a couple months later, that sand is falling between the cracks and soft to the touch, I can literally compress it with my finger and I now have sand missing between cracks all over the place on one side of my patio again. There's no way they sealed that because that sand wouldn't be soft to the touch and able to compress with your finger! It's not only soft, they don't even put enough sand in it let alone forget to seal the damn thing. The second time they came out, they try to blame it on water, as if I'm an idiot (sure after a few months I expect this to all fall apart). There's nothing that would cause this. Regular rain shouldn't cause a $2k+ job to fail after a few months. The prior company who sanded this patio, the sand was not falling apart like this anywhere. Even after 5 years. Now I'm going to have to refill that sand and fix this myself. Maybe learned a lesson, just do this stuff yourself. Do it right the first time and you won't have reviews like this. Or customers that annoy you because you can't do your job well. They claim "warranties to match our underrepresented workmanship!". What warranty? I got no warranty and even when they come to fix the mess up, it still falls down. Anyone gets rain, even down pours. It's very clear what areas they did not do properly because the rest of the patio is holding ok. I expect a job to last a few years not a few months. Rain and nature happen, we expect this to hold up at least on average 3-5 years. I'm just going to seriously go back to Menards, there's a mexican guy there who knows a lot about this, and he's told me how I can just fix it myself and save money. He explained the different sealants, etc. and the pros and cons. That's exactly what I am going to do. No more hiring people for this. The ants are even crawling into the cracks now. Good times, right before it starts getting cold outside. So glad I have to spend a couple hours fixing this sh** now. I don't normally go out and rant like this but any moron can see this is not done right. This is a long overdue review which I hate to leave but don't know what else to do…read more We had our both our driveway and garage floor completely replaced in May 2021. Not a cheap job by any means. All looked nice at first but within 2 years, parts of both started showing signs of cracking and spalling. My husband called them back out to see what could be done and were told they couldn't do anything except replace the whole thing again? The explanation is the weather in Chicago is the reason. By the third year, the area where the garage floor meets the concrete driveway and parts of the driveway are crumbling. I didn't expect any of this within the first few years.. and I don't see other newer driveways in my neighborhood with this issue. Something was wrong with what they used or how they mixed their product. Now, water seeps into the garage through the cracks at winter time. It's extremely upsetting and each year that goes by, I get more upset. More and more crumbling. I wish they had better options for us or could do something without charging us for a full redo. We had quite a large project that we did with Evanston Masonry. Our century-old brick needed…read moreconsiderable work, with all the mortar being ground out and redone, as well as new lintels, several rows of replaced brick (where previous homeowners had done the wrong thing, resulting in whole rows sagging and collapsing the top of the window), and even a chimney rebuild. From quote to start was more than a year (due to other constraints), and once started the project took several weeks with a lot of scheduling nuances and coordination with other things. Eric and his team did a fantastic job throughout. The crew was friendly and respectful and their work was and is impeccable. Eric was over-the-top communicative both before, during, and after the project. All little issues were resolved immediately, often going above and beyond. We were particularly impressed with how well Eric and his team worked with the older brick, which requires special care and mortar. Even *matching* old brick is quite hard because the size is different from modern brick and there aren't many companies which make it, meaning color options are quite limited. Eric did a fantastic job and I think most people would struggle to pick out the new from the old. Highly recommend for any masonry work.

"Red" removed all the pavers without damaging a single one. Then replaced all of them exactly as they were after the plumbing work was completed. In addition he removed all the sub standard support material (crumbling concrete slabs, dirt, clay & sand) and backfilled it all with a generous amount of the proper (crushed rock?) materials to properly support the pavers. The before and after pictures we took are identical because he is a master craftsman and a perfectionist when it comes to his work. Thank you Red for an incredible job at an affordable price.

AB Edwards has done our roof repairs 2x for 2 separate situations. We moved into a new home and the…read morefirst was one we knew we would need for an addition. The addition needed the entire roof replaced, and they came highly recommended to me by a coworker. I went with them and we are so glad we did. They came out to quote, and Chris the Project Manager was really thorough and explained everything that needed to be done. He mentioned if anything was uncovered what would also have to happen. We felt really confident in choosing them for the job. Yes the quote was higher than the roofer we had in during the inspection of the property, however, that roofer is listed in these reviews as a company that AB had to help a customer fix their work, so we were fine with the pricing. During the roof replacement we found we needed additional work done, but this was all discussed upfront as a possibility, so was not a surprise. The work was done quickly, and so well. Fast forward to March, and there was a leak that was in our master bathroom. The contractor on the house has been shady and not wanting to help with this as he "never touched the roof". We decided to finally just go back to AB as we knew they would help quickly and do the best job possible. They also knew about this issue back in December when they were doing the other project, and were there to help if needed they said. How great is that, knowing they would do the work for us and feeling good about it because they really cared. So, I called up Chris the PM, and he got here in about a week. Took a day to do the majority of the work, and even an additional cosmetic fix because of that crazy windstorm we had. They have about one more day left of work, not even, and that was because it rained the other day. We are fully confident that this has fixed the leak, and we can now get to work on the interior fixes in the bathroom. I cannot recommend them more. AB Edward redid the entire roof and garage for a 4000 sq ft house. There have been no problems since and I don't foresee any problems for a long time. I also recommended them to others. If you want exterior construction done right, pay what a reputable contractor is worth the first time so you don't have issues with repairs in the future.
