In 2019 the HVAC in our house died. We had a long drawn out fight with our home warranty company, which was extremely frustrating, but the one bright thing that came out of it was AMPM Heating and cooling. We worked with them and our home warranty company to have a new system put in, and here I sit over a year ago with record 110+ degree days comfortably cool in my house. I can't say enough about the work these folks did, as a lock down began to hit due to a pandemic. The crew was here every day they said they would be and held our hands through the entire process. Their work was done with care and quality, and I can't say enough about the experience. They where simply incredible! Scheduling with this company was convenient because they had good availability. When the technician arrived for my scheduled appointment he smelled like alcohol. He then checked our furnace and said he would order a part and return on Monday. Since it was a Friday evening he said he would need to wait until Monday for the part. He told my husband it would be about $200-250. On Tuesday evening I called him, as he had never called or returned. He sounded like he was intoxicated, he couldn't remember who I was and asked me to tell him what he was supposed to order, which is information I don't know since I am not the technician. He said he had forgotten about us. He came the next day and repaired the furnace and then charged us $750, instead of his original quote. I would never use the company again. I recently purchased a low cost ductless mini split online and installed everything with the exception of connecting the line set to the outdoor unit and pressure checking/vacuuming. Most companies are not willing to come out and provide the final steps that require special tools which I did not want to buy and did not trust my limited knowledge on the subject. I was happy to find a company willing to do this. The technician showed up 2.5 hours early to my place because of some urgent issues with another customer which was a bit of a surprise. I told him I was not ready for him (I had to complete a few final tasks to setup the system - I didn't want to pay for things I can do). They were understanding and came back at the scheduled time. The technician was friendly and experienced but he made a couple of mistakes and had to go to a shop for replacement parts. I was worried I would be charged for this time (we agreed to time and material for this job) and so I called the office and spoke with them and explained the situation. They were very understanding and ensured me that I would not be billed for the time. The technician was able to get the job done and I was not charged for any of the extra time spent resolving the issues from the mistakes. People are human and make mistakes and I understand this (seems like many on Yelp do not) it is how the people deal with the mistakes is what matters and I think the way that this company dealt with them were satisfactory. read more

AM/PM has kept my old system going since I moved into this house. But finally, my whole HVAC system needed to be replaced. The furnace is in the attic and was installed so that it is darn near impossible to get to much less get out of the house. But Tom and Ryan did it! They figured out a way to get the old one out and the new one in without tearing up my ceiling which was what I expected to happen. I cannot say enough about the superior work they did. They don't take breaks; work so hard even though the attic is hot, hot, hot and they are a fantastic team. The office staff, the owner Greg and everyone who has helped me is patient, knowledgeable, hardworking, friendly and very kind. Top notch company. Greg and his crew exchanged both a furnace and an sir conditioner. The heater, in the attic was a particularly tough job. The old one had to be disassembled and slipped through a 4x4 hole that they cut through the ceiling. They carefully lowered it with a rope to a partner below. After they fired up the heater, we were warned that there would be an overbearing noxious smell as the heater burned off its newness. John would not leave until he and we were certain that the vents and rooms had cleared. John and Ryan did an excellent job of cleaning up. The crew recommended an excellent drywaller named Cedric who came by the next day. He used his great skills to patch the hole and match the ceiling texture to the rest of the ceiling. My wife and I highly recommend AM/PM Heating and Cooling. read more

Ampm originally installed my HVAC and heat pump five years ago. They did a very good job and I was very happy with the work and value of the system. Last summer I started having issues with the heat pump and had asked another company to see what the problem was and give mean estimate for repair. At least 2 maybe 3 other places told me I would need extensive work in the thousands of dollars. I ended up calling ampm again and when Greg , the owner showed up, he found a leak within about 5 minute and fixed it in less than an hour. His experience and knowledge, and integrity, to address and correct this was outstanding. My only regret is that I waited four to six months to finally call ampm while my Electric bill for heat was $350+/month over the winter. read more

During the recent blizzard, our entire central heating system mysteriously stopped working (on a weekend, of course...). Our home warranty is still in effect, so we called Fidelity (who has been fantastic, BTW!), and they tried to get Accent Heating out. After Accent rudely jerked us all around for 24 hours, Fidelity changed the order to AM/PM, and boy are we glad they did! Chris came out late in what had been a long day for him already, and got our system going on a temporary fix. He came out later that week for a permanent fix. This job call happened in August 2020. I was debating whether to leave a review as it would make me upset again. But AM/PM customers should be aware of this company's work. Our AC unit was not communicating with the thermostat... although everything looked charged. The AM/PM Heating and Cooling Company sent us a gentleman who had (in his own words) "32 years of experience but he forgot some things". After checking the A/C connections he kept calling and spent most of the time on the phone consulting with someone. Eventually, he couldn't fix it and after four hours he stated he'll come the next day. The following day, once he and someone else on the other line figured out the what and how to fix it, although my husband was in the house, he omitted to give us the cost estimate before he concluded the job. And when he finished, he quoted $860 plus tax for the repair. I was concerned that he (or his company) charged $95 for each of the 4 hours when he was on the phone. On his recommendation, I called the company's office and spoke with Marlene. Instead of trying to provide an itemized information about the charges that I asked for, she raised her voice and was unpleasantly defensive, accusing us that we don't want to pay for the service. I informed her that our intention never was not to pay for our bill. I just wanted more details instead of giving me their jargon, package price, and yelling. After that, her daughter, Annette, got on the line and while raising her voice as well, she followed her mother's lead. She told me that her mom was doing me a favor to even speak with me! Never mind that my husband and I were their customers now and also previously. Eventually, she stated that her mother had to go. And by the way, to my surprise, Annette also informed me that the bill is not what the repairman stated. That it actually was $1,147.50 plus tax. When I asked for the repair details in writing, she suggested that we could have the work reversed, so the A/C won't work, and we'd pay only for the labor. I called my husband to let him know while he was in the house with their repairman. In the meantime, the repairman assumed we don't want to pay for the repair and disconnected the A/C. Finally, after calling back and forth with the repairman, and Annette, he connected the A/C again, and Annette settled this unpleasant situation by listing a few items on the bill and 10% senior discount. We paid $997 and hope we'll never need to call this unprofessional business again. read more

11 pm - Just finished with the most bizarre and unprofessional email correspondence with Marlene after trying to figure out why a bill was sent 11 months after the date of service with a $10 interest fee. Aside from the 11-month delay, it took over 3 weeks for her to respond to my initial inquiry and only after I prompted again. The service call in question was covered under warranty. Normally we would have a $75 deductible but the technician told us the issue was caused by a previous service that was not conducted properly so they would not be billing the warranty company or us. We have always paid at the time of service, as is required by their contract with the warranty company. She admits in this email chain to having had an employee who wasn't properly tracking receivable accounts over the last year, but still will not even credit the $10 interest fee. Interest accrued over 11 months where we had no idea a fee was even due - not to mention they had no idea either. I am still shocked that I had to explain to her why all of this is not ok and that she thinks it is acceptable to treat customers this way when upset about a mistake made by them. Super disappointed as we've always had mostly good experiences with their techs. I'll be following up with the warranty provider to see if there is anything they can do to help me convince this company that this was not a good way to conduct business. read more

Horrible experience from beginning to end which didn't result with a tech even making it out to my home for the initial inspection! Brief synopsis: Thursday - I called our home warranty provider to file a claim for AC not working. They assure me a contractor will call within 24 hours. Saturday - Still no call, I reach out to warranty provider again. They don't know what the issue is either - they call AM/PM (no answer) and leave message to contact me, they invite me to do the same. 2 hours later I call AM/PM (no answer) and leave another message. Monday afternoon - Still no call. I call warranty provider AGAIN - they finally get AM/PM to call me back. AM/PM says the service request must have "got lost in cyber-space." OK, things happen. I schedule inspection for today (Wednesday) at 10:00 AM, informing them that it's going to keep me from work but I'll make it happen. AM/PM did not indicate that this was in any shape or form going out of their way to do so. Wednesday - 10:30 AM, no tech. I called to get an ETA, and hear the woman who answered my call on the other line with the tech who "got a late start and his tablet went down" and then tells her he might make it to my home in an hour and a half. I then explained very professionally that this was quite inconvenient and a "heads-up" would have been greatly appreciated. Her response? IMMEDIATELY defensive, the worst kind of professional response possible. I was told this appointment was scheduled "as a favor" to me and I was lucky they could still come out at all. Honestly, whatever else she said didn't even resonate enough to stick in my memory. I then called my warranty provider to find another company. Just an FYI for anyone considering this company - I wish I could have been lucky enough to be one of their customers who got 5-star service, but when I encounter as many let downs and such poor customer service before I can even get someone to show up at my door I have to say something. They fit me in quickly after i called i told them i thought my capacitor was bad. He showed up in about an hour and agreed with my deduction and repaired the unit quickly the bill came to $238.31 of witch the part was &135.00. When he left i decided to purchase a new capacitor as a stand by unit! The most expensive one i could find was $29.99. Even though the work was quickly i feel the markup was outrageous! read more

Their employee was smoking weed in my house, then operated a company vehicle. The quality of work was subpar, they made a huge mess, and refused to return my house key when I finally decided to fire them. They do not show up when they promise, nor will they call to let you know. A one day job turned into four, and he still didn't finish what we agreed to. They only completed about 40% of the work, but now demand 90% of the agreed amount. My sheetrock looks terrible, stained my carpet, ruined a piece of base trim, and permanently stained my sidewalk at the entrance to my house by using an oil based texture in place of water based. They did damage, but they keep threatening me with collections. I am filing a complaint with OSHA, the BBB, L&I, and the home warranty company who sent them out. They are unwilling to accept any responsibility. Everytime I attempt to discuss it with them, they hang up on me, or they will start laughing at me while making condescending remarks.I specifically requested a call back from the owner, as he responded to my review, but he refuses to call me back or take my calls. read more

Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience with this company. The work was done well and on time. The problem I had was with the office staff. I had them go out and address a small issue at a rental property. I was quoted what they thought the repair would be and told that if more was required i would be notified. When invoiced for more than double that amount (granted, more work was done but some of which I would not have approved) I called and received very poor customer service. When I questioned why I was not notified, I was told that they had 8 other calls that day and the service tech was probably too busy and told to invoice my tenants for the additional work done that I would not have approved. When I questioned the cost of the additional work, the response was "Does the unit work?". Good work, but the worst customer service I have ever had. It's unfortunate, because I need a reliable company to work on my behalf when I can't be there. I can't say this is the one. read more

My AC went kaput in the heat of summer. I called these guys and got an appointment that day for 5 p.m. At noon, they called and asked if they could squeeze me in. Yes! They came out, diagnosed the problem quickly, had the part in the van, replaced it - as well as a resultant blown fuse - and off they went after dropping off a reasonable invoice. Absolutely will call again next time my AC blows. read more

One of the worse companies I have ever dealt with. They were hired through our home warranty company in January 2017 to put in a new heating system. And can you believe, it is the end of March and it is still not done. They schedule appointments and don't show up. The installation is done improperly per the owner and parts needed for the system were thrown away! Apparently - the owner has time to go on a Disney Cruise but not attend to customers and to work he obligated himself to and even when reminded can't bring himself to just apologize and admit that he made a mistake and own up to it. The communication from their company is horrid - no one - even the owner - remembers what they say, do or what is going on. Even the owner commented himself on more than one occasion that the unit was not installed properly and there were issues - have they been back to rectify this NO! Even after several times that I, as the customer, have reminded them. They conveniently never remember about what they previously said or did. And but for me following up on them completing the job that they were hired to do, well - I would like to say it's done - but again - it's not. It has now taken me filing a complaint with the Home Warranty Company - and thank god we have them because if it wasn't for them - we would be on our own dealing with this Horrid Company! So take my advice, stay far, far away from this company - they don't care about their work, they don't care about their customers and they apparently could care less about being a successful and reputable business. read more

I put in a home owners request to fix my heater when it broke. The contractor had not contacted me by 10:30am so I called them. They set up a time for someone to come out later that day. The guy who came out was nice but said that he was so booked he couldnt get the needed part and come and fix it for 6 days but I could go get the part on my own but they would still charge me a service call. One 6 days of no heater is not acceptable nor is charging me when I am going to go pick up the freaking part and install it. The service guy was very nice but the quality of service is super lacking. read more

I think I have been ripped off - what would you think? Called AM/PM and told them exactly what the problem was. My mini split small heat pump was not working as good as in the past and I found the fitting that was leaking on the indoor unit. I showed the tech the problem and he said it would be an all day job and they might have to leave the vacuum pump running overnight. Then I ask him how much this is going to cost. He said maybe $800 or it could be less. I told him I could buy a new heat pump for $650. He just said he had to evacuate the lines, disassemble the indoor unit (for some reason), run the vacuum pump for hours, and charge the system. My owners manual says the refrigerant may need to be "topped off" in the future. I told him I couldn't send $800 on a $650 unit. So then he charges me $102 for the no service call. He was here less than 15 min. Did not check anything. I am a senior, maybe he thought I was senile. read more

After calling Greg out to service my furnace, he was unable to idenitfy the problem and had no problem charging me the $85.00 service charge. About a week later, the furnace stopped working again, in freezing weather. Greg came out and AGAIN, he could not identify the problem and seemingly did very little professional troublshooting. Luckily he didn't charge me for this visit...until a month later when I received a statement with a balance due. After calling the company and letting the billing associate know that while they were nice, I definitely could not recommend them based on Greg's inability to do...his job, the billing associate replied with, "Well I guess that's your problem, not ours." and hung up. Be Wary of this company, you will get very little, if anything for your money! read more

We purchased a home in the fall and knew we needed a new heating system and hot water tank. We got three bids and went with AM/PM based on their pricing (several thousand less than the competitors) and a recommendation from our son who had them install his heat pump. They were very easy to work with. There were complex problems due to the prior system's poor install but they patiently worked through the issues. It turned out that we needed a larger cold air return and they installed that for us as well and have worked with us get the system fine tuned. It is a two stage heat pump with back up gas furnace and works beautifully keeping us warm or cool as needed. Very reliable company to do business with. read more
