When I arrived and asked about the pricing, I was not given a clear explanation or a detailed breakdown of the fees and charges. As I reviewed the paperwork, I noticed nearly $4,000 in additional charges that were not clearly disclosed upfront and were never adequately explained. No one forced me to sign anything, but it felt like my questions about the final price and extra fees were being avoided rather than answered directly. Transparency is extremely important when buying a car, and unfortunately that was lacking throughout this process. I would strongly recommend that other buyers ask for a complete breakdown of all fees and carefully review every document before making a purchase.

Few months to almost a year we had a not so well experience with Kia of Denville so we had stuck in our minds to go to other dealerships first prior to going back to Kia of Denville. And we did.... when I tell you it was a hard journey not only because other dealer's customer service lacked warmth and the prices now for either lease or finance are crazy. In 2019 we had signed up with the lease that was for a total of 30,000 miles. We were willing to drive it exactly to the 30,000 until we made sure we found something we could afford. Many dealerships let us down. I had received a voicemail from Michael about Kia program so I took it as a sign. So we decided to go back to Gateway Kia of Denville. I contacted the salesperson who has been taking care of us since we started in this Kia, Jon Marquez. Background: Jon is a very nice and patient,friendly guy. Never rude always listens. I had told him about what had made us unhappy but he had said to give Kia another chance. And when the opportunity came up where I had to use the service department (and yes Jon was right) Byron was phenomenal and gained my trust again. I even treated the service department to panera because I was very satisfied with the service. Back to my review: Last night we decided to see what deals Kia had but of course we went with Jon. He listened us and gave us honest feedback. He showed us a 2023 Kia sportage that met our expectations. But then the numbers came in ....the monthly amounts were out of our bracket. But Jon and Camilo, the Finance guy, worked hard to make it work with us. But it wasn't only how hard they worked but how they treated us like people not just a sale. They understood where we came from with our safe budgeting mindset. Gateway Kia of Denville has kept their customers once again because of Jon, Camilo and Bryon. They are true customer service leaders. Thank you

We have brought our new car twice to this dealer for service and both times were very disappointed…read morein the service we got. We will not be coming back. 1.) the service guy where you drop off your car was rude, there was no were for my husband to wait in our other car because the lot is overflowing and he kept yelling at my husband to move but there was no where for him to move and wait while i dropped off the car. 2. I have a 2023 sportage and the apple car paly cuts out. I have brought it back to fix it and they said it cannot be fixed. They didn't offer any other help and now I have to live with this issue. 3. We bought this kia brand new from the dealership and we didn't know there were after market tires on it. The air valves were fused and they charged us over $300 to fix it when you were the ones that sold us the car brand new. Worst service I have ever had from a dealership.

No eye contact, no greeting, nothing. I was more than a little surprised. Connor approached me with a warm smile and a friendly greeting. He made me feel welcome and asked if I was being helped. I said that I needed help and he immediately came to my assistance with knowledgeable experience and confidence. It was a pleasure spending time with him. Thank goodness for approachable and friendly people like Connor. I highly recommend you ask for him should you find yourself at this dealership.

I had taken the car in 2-3 times regarding this problem. 1st time I took it in I was told that it was from some minor sludge in engine and it was because I needed a fuel injection. Well I got the services done as they requested. However this did not fix my problem. 2nd time I was told nothing was wrong and to video tape the problem. So I recorded the problem however I never got a response. In June I was driving my car home and all my lights went on on dashboard (never even had an engine light on prior), and what I can explain as my engine seizing. I had my three children with me! I got the car over to Sussex Kia who I had been dealing with since January and it was closed due to Covid 19. A few days went by and they did not respond so I towed my car to Route 23 Kia in Riverdale. I was told it was my engine, it was full of sludge and because I did not do oil changes. However Jorge in services had assured me that they would clean it up and get it covered by warranty. I would maybe have some minor replacements that have to do with the engine. So I did not argue the fact I was being blamed for not getting oil changes when in fact I did and have receipts for proof!!! well between June and now my car had been sitting in their lot. I was told that they were waiting on an engine to come in. Friday I finally got a call my engine was in but surprise my starter was bad!! well its been sitting untouched on their lot for 90+ days so yeah. They wanted 600 dollars out of pocket for a starter on a leased car. OK, I paid it. I wanted my car back, I figured I will fight this and get the money back later. Wednesday I get a call my car is ready. I make the payment and tell them I will pick up my car that evening. Was told my car was test driven and cleaned. So I go to pick up my car last night and I am pulling out onto route 23 and I'm like what's going on. when I would straighten my steering wheel my car started to go off the road. What I explained to be my steering wheel upside down. SO I BROUGHT IT BACK AND LEFT IN LOANER AGAIN!!! I got a call this morning and was told it was not my steering wheel upside down because they do not take steering wheel off it was my Alignment (Scott the service manager). I honestly do not care what it was! It was dangerous!! This is insane. Who test drove my car and thought it was ok. I told them I do not want my car back because if they cannot recognize that my steering was off, actually undrivable, who knows what job they did on engine or on starter. RT 23 Kia service department does not know what they are doing. I have reached out to a lawyer as well as Kia consumers and Kia motor finance regarding this situation! I was also told by Scott that I need to return there loaner in two days no matter what because other costumers need it. If I'm that customer GO ELSEWHERE to get your car serviced! Also upon reviewing my receipt it was noted that my engine came in 7/3/2020. What took two months to install it. This year, I'm hit with a coolant and brake fluid/brake fluid charge. - obviously I have realized that the service department doesn't top off the levels and they want you to be below so they can charge you $300 a piece for everything when it goes way below. I recently received a letter from the warranty company stating that the warranty was never purchased from City Motor Group and that they are unable to offer coverage at this time. Upon receiving this letter, I called and found out they have closed their Haskell location and the new owners are getting tons of calls about this same issue and cannot do anything. Essentially I paid for extended warranty coverage but CMG did not pay the company and took the money.
