Giving this place 1 star because a) you can't give it zero and b) because the woman who was helping another costumer out while I waited was sweet and apologetic. I had an appt for 10am. I waited 30 minutes for Channay. By 10:30 she still wasn't at the salon so I left. The only reason I waited so long is because I have a photo shoot later and wanted my hair to be done for it. I ended up leaving because I was wasting my time and was going to clearly have to do my own hair. Some woman came in around 10:25 and I'm not sure if it was her but she walked right by me and didn't say anything to me or apologize if it was her. This was my first time coming here and I wouldn't have come if my hair stylist at my old salon (Premier 1 on 1) wasn't on a leave. read more

I Loved my whole experience. The group of girls in this shop are tight knit and sincerely there for one another. The atmosphere is great. Channay is amazing and walked me through the whole process. One thing that makes this property stand out is the water they use. You can see and feel the difference it brings. My silk press lasted longer than ever. I had and my curls came back immediately when I washed my hair. My curls probably came back better. I will be returning to this place. The care and craftsmanship is amazing. I was FEELING MYSELF!! Unfortunately I did not get a chance to experience her work. I was going to be in San Diego for a few days and wanted to get a silk press. I contacted her using an email listed on her website- I laid out all the details as to which times and which days I was interested in. I did not get a response. I then contacted her through yelp and got a response back the next day while I was in a class. She wanted details about timing and what I wanted done etc. I knew I wouldn't have to respond until the end of the week because I was in an intense compressed format course. So I asked if she could refer to the email I had sent earlier and never heard from her again. Channay is AMAZING! First of all I want to say how down to earth, professional, and personable she is, she definitely makes you feel comfortable and welcome. I am LOVING my hair! I've never had a full sew in before and I wanted to try it as a protective style while I grow my natural hair out. Everything went great, she exceeded my expectations with the style and color, but then I got home and I was freaking out a little because there was so much hair and it was so long (Which is what I wanted) but I just wasn't use to dealing with it and I became a little overwhelmed. I even contemplated taking it out and if you've ever gotten a sew in you know they are not cheap, not for quality work anyway... But instead I sent Channay a text the next morning and she squeezed me in that morning, thinned the hair out a little and gave me some layers to make it a little easier to handle.
