This restaurant serves relatively good Italian food, but is entirely TOO NOISY. Also, the kitchen does not seem to understand that if a customer requests pasta to be overcooked and soft because of a dietary need, that is what should be done. We ordered Riagtoni, with extra soft pasta. When it was delivered it was al dente and was sent back. 20 minutes later it was returned and the result was no different. No attempt by the server to correct problem, leaving diner to have only salad and bread. While some Italians my believe that overcooked pasta is a sin, if the that is what the customer wants, then give it to them. read more

Pros & Cons - The starter bread was light with a perfectly crisp crust and came with an incredible rosemary olive oil -- absolutely delicious. My pear and prosciutto salad was excellent, and the addition of grilled chicken complemented it nicely. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was quite large -- definitely enough to share -- and while flavorful, it could've used a bit more bacon. Our server was friendly, offered a few appetizer suggestions, and checked in once during the meal. The bar is quite spacious, the restaurant is very well kept, and it offers an outdoor dining patio as well as a private room for small events. Overall - A very enjoyable dining experience, and we'd happily return. read more

Came here for dinner on a beautiful summer evening, so we were able to sit outside on the covered patio which was nice. Andres was our server and he was great! Service was friendly and timely. We came hungry and thirsty, so we ordered multiple rounds of cocktails, apps, and entrees. I would say that unfortunately, all of it fell a little short.. the cocktails were not strong at all, the calamari that I ordered for my app was bland, and my vodka penne.. the pasta was nice and al dente, but the sauce was just not memorable and needed salt. It wasn't a bad experience at all, but with so many options around, I probably won't return. read more

What should have been a special Easter outing turned into one of the most frustrating and disrespectful dining experiences I've had in a long time. We were a party of two--a mother and daughter--attending the Easter buffet at Amalfi's. We were explicitly told we could not be seated at a booth. Meanwhile, another party of two was seated in a booth without issue. When I calmly questioned this, the manager told me they had specifically requested a booth when they made their reservation. That was untrue. I spoke directly with that couple, and they confirmed they had not made any such request. At that point, it became very clear that the issue wasn't policy--it was arbitrary, inconsistent decision-making, followed by dishonesty when questioned. What made this even worse was the manager's attitude: dismissive, unapologetic, and openly disrespectful. There was no attempt to resolve the situation, no accountability, and no effort to make things right--not even a partial comp or acknowledgment of the poor experience. It's hard not to wonder whether we were treated differently because I was dining alone with my child, while the other couple fit a more "traditional" mold. Whether intentional or not, the inequity was obvious and deeply uncomfortable. Dining out--especially on a holiday--is about feeling welcomed and valued as a guest. Instead, we were made to feel like an inconvenience and then misled when we asked for basic fairness. I would strongly caution others before choosing Amalfi's for any special occasion. There are plenty of restaurants that understand hospitality, transparency, and respect. This was not one of them. read more

We were at a local brewery and wanted dinner on our way home. We passed right by Amalfi's Kitchen so we stopped. Very nice inside. Service was great. The starter bread was to die for! So amazing!!!! The olive oil dip was delicious! Stir it first. The hot stuff is at the bottom and amazing!!! My husband had the bolognese and I had the eggplant parm lasagna. I would recommend a side of sauce. Their pizza used to be the best! They had great classic Jersey pizza with the ability to get fancy with your toppings. Now...the flavors and toppings are still good, but the crust is a disaster! Why did you change from a classic round pizza that's cooked perfectly to the trendy square? The center (like 3/4 of the pizza) is soggy and floppy in the middle. Please go back! read more

This one got by me.... We brought my uncle here Memorial Day weekend last year, and I've got the photos to prove it. We chose this restaurant based on a local who felt they had improved a lot from years ago. I may have been here before but the fog of time does not allow me to recall. But a few months removed I do recall a very nice experience the 4 of us had. We sat outside on a warm spring Saturday and enjoyed well prepared if not well served fare. We chalked the poor service up to the holiday weekend, but even so, business was slow so it really could have been better. But when not in a hurry, these things can be overlooked occasionally. I had to try a pie, the personal size Margherita with garlic was perfect. Crispy crust that held steady when hoisted. robust sauce and plenty of fresh mozzarella. My cousins both got huge entree salads that looked great, fog again here..., and my uncle a pasta dish that he enjoyed and had 2 more meals from. I finished with my fav chicken sand of the year. Very good brioche roll, nicely fried chicken breast with well thought out toppings and very good fries. We all agreed that we would come back, and the person who recommended this has been and to similar good experiences. The bruschetta and primavera was no longer on the menu but they were kind enough to make me a vegetable primavera with tomato sauce, mushrooms, spinach, green peas and broccoli. It was a generous portion and really delicious. They also give you complimentary bread and thyme dipping oil. Service: above and beyond for making me a pasta that's not on the menu! Typically love the food at Amalfi's, but the chicken fredo was a big surprise. I ordered it for the first time this week based on the menu description- "fettuccine pasta, all natural chicken, signature alfredo sauce, bruschetta, garlic sourdough crostini"-- however, the chicken was covered in a spicy, almost Cajun, spice mix that was so incredibly overpowering that I couldn't eat the chicken. I am someone who really enjoys spicy food, but this was inedible, even though the chicken itself was cooked perfectly. The noodles and sauce were also good. I wish this spice detail had been noted on the menu because I would not have ordered this- I was not expecting that flavor. Other food we do love are the eggplant rollatini, Fig & Pig pizza, wedge salad, chicken parm, and penne on the regular menu. Have had the filet special and that was also good. read more

Hands down one of the best Pizza pies I've had in NJ since moving her from NY 11 years ago. Great crust, quality sauce and cheese, as well as toppings (cup pepperoni with fresh garlic was my favorite). In late June, we celebrated my daughter's baby shower at Amalfi's Kitchen & Bar. The experience from the onset of planning to the final clean-up was nothing short of easy and perfect. Our guests raved about the delicious and abundance of food. We chose to have an open bar which worked out well for the party. The wait staff was cordial, pleasant, and extremely helpful. IMO, baby showers can be at times tiresome, but the flow of conversation, fabulous food, yummy cocktails and mocktails made for a great day! Thank you to each of the people that helped to make this day so special for all who attended, especially the mom-to-be. I would say okay at best. We came here on a Friday night, it was a busy but not full. We came to have drinks and appetizers and our server seemed to have a tables all over the place. The server was very polite and friendly. We ordered meatballs, pasta Bolognese, chicken quesadilla, calamari, mozzarella sticks, egg rolls, margarita pizza and wings. So I would say this was a large span of their menu. The food was just okay, nothing really stood out as great, which is a shame. We expected more because it looks like a mom and pop place. We also ordered a variety of drinks including their seasonal sangria (the Fall sangria was the worst), dragonfruit mule and margaritas. I don't know who was bartending that night but the only drink that was good was the margarita and it still had a slight taste of something else. Overall, I didn't love it here, maybe it was an off night? The other reviews seem to be all over the place, so may give it another try to confirm. read more

Went on a Sunday late afternoon during an Eagles game. The atmosphere was good with a good mixed crowd that were not overly aggressive or rude when cheering for the Eagles. The food was very good had the Cuban sandwich and Philly cheesesteak both good quality and portion and fries are well fried and seasoned. Apps we had Fried Calamari and chicken parm egg rolls these were just ok nothing special. The table bread was also very good. Service was good attentive staff even though very busy. Ordered a side of Caesar salad which was good. The salmon was okay, came with a tiny amount of mashed potatoes, and spinach. Overall, it was quite pricey for lunchtime. Mistakenly ordered the dinner size, salmon at lunch. The waiter brought a lunch size portion instead, but we were charged for a dinner plate. A variety of well made and delicious Italian, vegetarian and other cuisines are available here. Each time my family comes in, and I don't feel like cooking that day, we often choose Amalfi's for their outstanding and friendly service and meals made with authenticity and gusto. Any gourmand would say that the chefs know what they are doing! And the polite hostesses make room for the most--from large gatherings to small families, to friend groups. Some of the waiters even remember us and know us by face or name, and one wonderful person ensured that the outdoor heater would be moved closer to our table, so that it felt like a mini-vacation. Their eggplant dishes are especially well seasoned and tasty: the way my mom used to make them, though we're not Italian. Lovely place. Great place to read and snack, or just to bring in the family. I've been to Amalfi's twice now for dinner. Both times to very mixed experiences. Food: Our first time here was over the summer and the food was terrible. Our pizzas came out cold and the chicken entree lacked flavor. Fast forward to this past weekend and there was a clear improvement in the quality and taste of food. I think the menu was even different. And, the complimentary bread and oil was nice. Service: There's just something off here about service. Either we've had new staff both times or just lack of training. The first time our service was horrendous. Our waitress seemed very overwhelmed and it was even hard to get water refilled. Our food for dinner came out 45 minutes apart. I'm not sure if our entire order was not entered or if there was a mix up in the kitchen. But, its unacceptable. This past visit was a little better, but our waitress went missing for an extended period of time when we were trying to pay our bill. And they don't separate checks. read more

I am shocked that this restaurant does not have 5 starts or close. A group of 5 of us came on a busy Friday night and were able to be seated right away. Our server was attentive and quick to bring us drinks and appetizers. The eggplant rollatini to start was great to share for two, and each pasta entree also came with a soup. We all got the Italian wedding which was also delicious. I ordered the Vodka Rigatoni, and the sauce was amazing. Almost everyone at my table ordered a dish with a different sauce, vodka, marinara, cacio e pepe, and they were all so flavorful. I would highly recommend- I wish I lived closer! read more

If I could, I would have given them no stars. Almalfi's ruined Mother's Day. I placed and order on Thursday to pick up today. They called at 11:50 to say they were doing a Mother's Day brunch and didn't have the room to make our order, really. So they didn't know that when the order was placed. So unprofessional and obviously not concerned with their patrons. I will never give them any of my business. I will also make sure everyone I know does the same.
