Had a sweet tooth (again). I wanted a baked good and decided prior to making my way to Amaretti's, to call them first to see if they had their s'mores brownie available. A pleasant guy on the phone answered and said they had two left, but wasn't sure how long they'd have them for. I decided to hop in my car and headover and hope for the best. The silver lining was if they didn't have the s'mores brownie, at least I know they'd have several option options for me to choose from. I headed in and the smell of baked goods filled the air. Low and behold, the s'mores brownie was still available, so I got one of those. I also needed to make sure I picked up something for the kiddo, so I got him a chocolate chip cookie, a Reese's cookie for me and my hubby to split, and two lemon ricotta cookies for my parents. The guy quickly packaged everything up. I paid and went to my car. When I was about to pull out of the parking lot, the guy ran out with a bag in his hands. I forgot the most important item: the s'mores brownie. That's customer service. The s'mores brownie was huge, and simply delicious. The Reese's cookie was rich, peanut buttery and tasted great with a glass of milk. I also quality-controlled my kiddo's cookie, which was a great chocolate chip cookie (soft and delicious). As for my poor husband, I may have eaten the entire Reese's cookie....oops. My parents said they really enjoyed the lemon ricotta cookie. BREAD PUDDING! Yes that's one of the reasons we keep coming back to Amaretti! It's just soo good! They have other cakes and pastries but our visit is not complete without it! A MUST try! Another favorite of mine is the Everything Croissant with Cream Cheese filling! I always toast it at home because it tastes better! Crunchy and flaky, delicious! I've been looking for a good bakery in town since I moved up to Jax in 2018. I haven't had much luck. Most shops are good, but not "WOW" or they sell a more limited menu of items like just donuts or just cookies. But last week there was a glimmer of hope. As I hung my head, defeated, so sure that I would never find the perfect bakery in Jacksonville, one of my coworkers asked if I had ever tried Amaretti's. I was so excited for the possibility of finding my new go-to bakery. When I say I've been looking forward to stopping by all week, I mean it. Cupcakes and pie have been dancing in my dreams. But would Amaretti's live up to the hype....? YES! We got a bunch of different sweets: a cookies and crème cake slice which was moist, light, and not overly sweet; a slice of chocolate silk pie that was the perfect taste and texture; a lemon ricotta cookie that was soft and flavorful; and a key lime tart that was good but could've been a little more tart and limey (that's just personal preference though). Overall, I had my expectations exceeded! It's awesome to think that a little bakery like this exists right near Mandarin! I can't wait to bring friends and family here when they come to visit! My first visit was to order a tray of tiramisu as a gift for a friend. The tray was massive, super delicious, and enjoyed greatly by my friend and her family. While picking up the order, we also happened to snag a pistachio muffin, a morning glory muffin, an eclair, and a chocolate cookie. Everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. In order of best to worst: Kentucky derby pie: 4/5. Kind of like a pecan pie with walnuts and whipped cream. Not super sweet which I liked. Red velvet Oreo cheesecake: 4/5. Didn't really taste much Oreo other than the mini Oreo on top because the red velvet flavor was so dominant but if you like cheesecake and red velvet then you can't really go wrong with this. Pecan pie bar: 3.5/5. A classic, can't really go wrong with this though the crust was not amazing. Bread pudding: 2.5/5. White chocolate not really incorporated into this other than as a drizzle that's not very sweet. The bread portion was nothing special and could probably be sweeter. read more

I absolutely love amaretti desserts! Years ago, I worked less than a half mile away, and it wasn't a good thing for my wallet, because it was so easy to go by the store on a break or at lunch. There is not a bad thing in the store. I now live about 20 miles away, but my car dealer is over in the area so every time I go for oil change or some type of work it has become my ritual to stop over at amaretti And get something to munch on. I also like to get their hot cross buns around Easter and other desserts throughout the year. Everything is made fresh, is homemade, and is better than anywhere else I have had my personal favorites are the Keylime tart, chocolate cake, cheese, danish, everything croissant, And the pecan sticky buns. The pecan sticky buns will change your life. I rarely get there early enough to get them anymore but they are kind enough to set one aside if I do call. The everything croissant is absolutely lovely. It is a croissant with cream cheese in the middle and topped with everything seasoning. The Keylime tart is tart but not overly so. The crust is nice and buttery and not thick at all. They also have an assortment of Italian cookies and many other things to try. Their cannoli is one of the best I have ever had and the first time I ever tried it I literally said out loud " oh my gosh!!" Because it is just that darn good. Was craving something sweet so we packed the dogs in the car and headed to Amaretti for a sweet treat! We decided to get a few different things to try. We ordered the Peanut Butter Pie, the Silk Pie and Swiss Cake Roll all three were delicious! The peanut butter pie was creamy, heavy on the peanut butter paired with just the right amount of chocolate. The silk pie was very light with a thick whipped cream it was sinful. The Swiss cake roll was almost sold out when we got there with only one slice left so we had to snatch it up and I'm so glad we did because it sold out in 45 minutes and someone came in while we were ordering the last piece just for a Swiss cake roll. The Swiss cake roll had the texture of chocolate cake covered in a chocolate shell and the cream is light with great chocolate flavor.
