Tree Town Cafe is one that I wouldn't have found if I didn't see it on a list of Rochester coffee shops. I feel like this cafe is sort of a hidden gem. I've been here twice-- once in the summer for an evening dinner on the patio, and most recently for a cozy study session in the winter. It's open decently late (for a coffee shop in Rochester) on weekdays (7pm), which is perfect for studying. They have plenty of parking in their parking lot. Their outdoor seating is placed directly in front of their building with plenty of shade, or in the grassy area next to the parking lot. It seems to be a kid-friendly cafe as well, since they have play areas. They have a cute indoor shop with food-related gifts like baked goodies, coffee, chocolate bars, and even dog treats. The service was wonderful, and they were very willing to make a call to the baker to check my allergies. There's not a lot of indoor seating, but it was enough to find a spot to study. The space heater in the small room was essential, although it got a little cool next to the glass once it started to get dark. As I mentioned, they do have free WiFi.

All it takes is taking off the glasses and letting its hair down, and suddenly you realize just how attractive and special Railway Station Diner really is! It's the quintessential reliable diner. Above average food. Below average prices. Regulars. A counter. Good service. Quick service. The Mediterranean frittata was wholesome and filling. The ingredients, fresh. It came with roast (up charge for raisin toast, but worth it!). The breakfast sandwich with shred, too, was perfectly proportioned; the crunch of the English muffin and the squish of the sausage balanced each other exactly equally, like Neo and Smith in that third Matrix movie. But the true hidden gem was the muffin. Cut in half and grilled. With sugar crystals! Not too big. Not too small. Not so sweet as to be dessert-like. Just perfectly sweet enough to make you not regret "going savory" by getting the frittata as your main course. My sister arrived first and was able to get a booth in the front corner. Truth be told, it was frigid. But I do imagine the servers running around truly appreciated it. Nicole was our server. My son was the last to arrive, but Nicole (& other servers) made sure my sister and I were content while waiting. We had coffee and tea and then we all ordered. I had the Sloppy Frittata which was a take on a Garbage Plate and it was amazing- plenty for two days. My son ordered the omelette with kielbasa and Swiss and my sister the English muffins with egg, spinach, artichoke and Hollandaise Sauce. The ambiance was your typical, hopping diner style crowd and it will definitely not be our last time there. Deciding what to choose was difficult and the service was absolutely amazing!
