But the true hidden gem was the muffin. Cut in half and grilled. With sugar crystals! Not too big. Not too small. Not so sweet as to be dessert-like. I have never had a bad meal here. I have been to almost every diner in Monroe County and this is my favorite by far. The food is superior to every diner I have been to. For almost two years I have been a regular now. The owner is also the head chef/cook and I think that's what is so special about this place's food. He takes pride in his food. Specials every weekend. Had an early Drs appointment this morning! I always use that as an excuse to treat myself to breakfast at the Railway afterwards. Love this place, it's small and unsuspecting and has been there for many years. When I remind people of it, they are like "Oh yah, but how is it compared to......(Name of some subpar chain) I am here to tell everyone!!! YES!!! It is the best breakfast in Rochester, made to order. Quality fresh ingredients. Our server was Jenna today! She was very nice, and completely on point. My husband told her he likes his milk when he is done with his meal. What he really likes to do, is have it nice and cold,, when he takes his last bite. Wholley Molley! It's like she read his mind. As soon as her asked me to flag her down. BAM! Glass of milk on the table. That was it for him. Now he is hooked. I have never had a slimy egg, I order them poached and they are always perfect. I love the Country Benny. It's an English muffin, with sausage patty on top of each piece of muffin. Topped with country gravy, with fried potatoes, extra crispy on the side. Yummo! My husband who is the pickiest eater, has also never had a bad meal. His favorite is 2 eggs over easy, with bacon, toast and hash browns. Place is very clean, and filled with regulars. But it is not crazy with a line out the door like Jim's on Main. Simple, delicious, caring food, that tastes like it's made with love. Their coffee is always delicious. The only cons are a small parking lot, that can be difficult to maneuver, and I'm not sure they have any heat or air conditioning. I usually feel a little chilled in the winter or hot in the summer. Weekend (Sunday) breakfast super crowded! Staff very efficient and friendly getting you seated though-we waited only about 5 minutes to get a table. Very cozy and lots of " regulars" which is always a good sign. . Menu very large but they have pretty much anything you might want for breakfast. I will say both my husband and I found the food although well prepared -a little under seasoned all around and had to add salt and pepper- but one we did that, much better! read more

Tasty Kid friendly Quick service Decent prices for families Accommodates large groups We were looking for a new place to eat in between running errands. It was easy to find on W. Ridge and right next to the railroad tracks. They have a parking lot and an adjacent street for overflow, but I can imagine it gets packed quickly for Sunday breakfast. Our waitress was super friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. The cheesy grits were creamy goodness! The kids pancakes shaped like Mickey's head were fun for the kids. Food, service, remaining post-Christmas decorations diner ambience were all great. Met a friend for breakfast at 10:00 and had to park down the street, as the parking lot was full. Just beat the late morning rush hour. I had a western frittata and my friend got one of the 25 different omelets. We both enjoyed our food and will be back for the food and friendly service. We also want to make sure we return next Christmas as they only had half their decorations left up and what was there was fun and unique. We heard it was really decked out prior to the new year. From the outside, this looks like a hole in the wall, and you'd drive right by and not notice it, if you're not looking for it. Inside, this place is a gem. I was seated immediately, despite the parking lot being completely full (had to park on the side street) and the place being very busy. Everyone working was super friendly, prompt, and attentive. Tons of breakfast options, and a handful of daily specials. I got the Breakfast Messy Plate (eggs, corned beef hash, potatoes topped with hollandaise). It was phenomenal. Excellent blend of different flavors, and only $8. Big portion - I couldn't finish it. It came with toast as well. They also had a S'mores French Toast weekend special, which was HUGE and would satisfy anyone with a major sweet tooth. Glad I discovered this spot, I will be back to try more things! read more

Yeah I'm a fool for passing by this diner for years and never even looking at it! It taste amazing and definitely on my list for breakfast must in Rochester/Greece area. I stopped in with the wife for a late breakfast and was happy surprised by the kind staff, clean environment and home like feel. The food is really really good and well priced. The chicken and waffles was a special that day, and they tasted special! Probably the best I've had in a long time! The chicken club was devoured by my wife. She said it tasted fresh and was perfect! I've been meaning to review this diner for some time. I finally got around to it. Don't judge this diner by it's cover!! It is very unassuming from the outside but a gem on the inside. Let start out by saying I have tried several breakfast item and have never been disappointed. I can't comment on any of their lunch or other items but if they put the effort into them like they do the breakfast, I am sure they are good. This is one of my go to diners. The staff is very friendly knows many of the patrons by name and usually seats you immediately. Your coffee and water will arrive minutes later. This is one of the places that you don't have to flag down someone to refill your coffee. Our waitress never let the coffees get empty and filled our waters back up until we were ready to leave and had paid the bill. We were also impressed she offered hot sauce when we ordered. I usually order pancakes, with 2 over easy eggs placed right on top, rye toast, and sausage links. My wife orders the egg and sausage breakfast sandwich. The eggs were cooked perfectly, some places you order eggs over easy and they don't fully cook the white. When I don't get pancakes I usually get something with hash browns or home fries. Other diners I have encountered the potatoes not cooked enough and lacking the crispy exterior. The potatoes here are well seasoned and well cooked with the right amount of crispness on them. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to stop by this little places I drove faster over the years and a few weeks ago I finally did and I have been so happy that I made that choice. They do have some pretty limited hours they're open early but they close by 2:00 p.m. that's really the only negative about this place. This is a typical little diner that is not much in the way of looks but is an awesome choice if looking for a great breakfast. I ordered the 3+3+3 which I configured mine to be 3 scrambled eggs, 3 sausage links, and 3 pancakes. The food came out quick, piping hot, and tasted great.
