    Interior - so cute

So hard to find good matcha!!! And this stop is not it, unfortunately. It's got a great seating area to hang out with friends or rest break during shopping but the drinks and food are at best average. We had the strawberry matcha latte special this trip and it was below average - not worth the calories or caffeine space. Matcha itself was fine but didn't balance well with the milk or strawberry jam, which was too sweet and thick. Service was fine and drink seemed to be made with care, just not a great recipe on flavor. Skip it and drive to a better place.

Matcha/Ube soft serve ($6.90) - it was icy...

Plus points for being the cutest, pinkest store in Serramonte. All the items looked delicious but I opted to try the soft serve for my first time. Matcha/Ube soft serve ($6.90) - Much disappointment. It tasted icy.

I arrived at Serramonte Mall to get my matcha fix. My family and I had just finished at the dentist, so we decided to drive home. On the way home, we stopped at Serramonte Mall to visit Amausaan Uji Matcha. It's a small store featuring a ton of matcha drinks, dessert, and more. I ordered a matcha sundae of some sort, my mom got the matcha/ube float, and my dad got the matcha soft serve cone. Not pictured, my brother got a matcha latte. Everything was pretty good minus the latte. The latte didn't taste good. The soft serve had a strong matcha flavor which I enjoyed very much. The red bean topping with the matcha soft serve was delicious! I also liked the granola and egg pudding at the bottom of the sundae. I thought it was different and interesting. Overall, it was a good experience for most of us. I'd come back.

Soft Serve matcha taiyaki and iced matcha latte

I've passed this place a few times and finally tried it. The ambiance is inviting and definitely a spot where you can chill out catch up with friends. You can even take a picture in front with the bunny. I had the matcha soft serve taiyaki. The cone was chewy and delicious. Not fresh made like other places but it was delicious and went well with the soft serve matcha. I also had the iced matcha latte the worker recommended. It was a rich, creamy, and earthy flavor. I highly recommend and will definitely be back soon.

This is the perfect place for a matcha drink, soft serve, and dessert. If you're in Serramonte Mall and craving anything matcha you can stop by here while shopping! Their soft serves are really good and the matcha has a really strong flavor. They are usually not very busy so whenever I order I never have to wait that long. They also have seating inside if you want to eat right there. They definitely standout with their cute decor and pink walls.

    Strawberry Matcha Latte

Came here late on Black Friday. Service was slow even though there weren't many people ahead of us in line, but it was late in the evening so I get it. I got the Strawberry Matcha Latte, and it came out relatively fast. The matcha to me was thin and watered down, but the strawberry jam had good chunks of strawberry that I liked and carried the drink. The decor is always very colorful and lively, and there's plenty of seating.

This is such a cute little hole in the wall. I only come to this mall specifically just for this store or the Chick Fil A. They have a good selection of matcha drinks and a couple different flavors of mille crepe cake. I always get the matcha crepe cake which is filling and has a pretty vibrant color. The store is beautifully decorated, I adore the pink cherry blossoms trees that are year-round!

I was really craving a matcha latte and decided to try this really cute spot in the mall... I had zero expectations and I left so disappointed. First off, there was only ONE person working and he was on his phone. I stood there for a good minute, maybe even longer, just waiting for him to greet me. Ordered an uji matcha with caramel, and this drink has a weird after taste.. look, I love me a good matcha and I hate to sound like a snob, but this just wasn't it for me. I would come back to try the other drinks, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth (literally lol). Try at your own risk!!

Matcha soft serve in strawberry taiyaki
    Anthony G.

I've been really wanting to check this place out since I'm a big fan of matcha and have been enjoying matcha cafe Maiko and Uji time. I ordered a matcha soft serve in a strawberry taiyaki. The matcha was tasty but the taiyaki was cold + it didn't have a strong strawberry flavor. Nonetheless, the location was convenient and has pretty fair seating but since it's in the mall, you can always walk and eat. They also have a decent size menu, so I would consider coming back to try something else but as for soft serve in taiyaki, I would probably go somewhere else. What an Exquisite Matcha Haven at Serramonte Mall! I was surprised to find this spot in the middle of the mall, but then again Serramonte mall has changed significantly. The boba drinks at Amausaan Uji were surprisingly very good. Each sip was a reminder of my visit to Japan. The drinks were made perfectly with the right amount of sweetness, and chewy boba pearls. The cake was the best part for me. Completely light and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness. It didn't take away from the taste of chocolate. I just wish they had a broader menu of choices. The best part about Amausaan Uji is their quick and friendly service. The staff were efficient, ensuring that I received my order promptly. The sitting area at Amausaan Uji is cozy and inviting, providing a space to relax and enjoy your drink. The cute decor adds to the charm of the place, creating a serene ambiance that enhances the experience. If you're looking for a nice spot to enjoy boba drinks and desserts, look no further than Amausaan Uji Matcha in Serramonte Mall. Would definitely visit again.

This place is so cute! They let you borrow their kimono to take photos there! The seasonal plate was so good! All of their snack are delicious as they look!

D3 and taiyaki with matcha soft serve
    Elena H.

They close their seating an hour before closing for no reason, and the desserts are just okay. We've come on two separate occasions well before 6:30, including yesterday at 6:10pm. They close at 7, but all the seats were stacked both times. We asked if we could sit, and the cashier just said "no." - taiyaki: the matcha soft serve is good, but the taiyaki is tasteless and soft all the way through - D3 milk tea ice cream: decent but not that much milk tea soft serve. It's one layer then a layer of granola and whipped cream then a layer of vanilla soft serve

    Alli W.

Expensive desserts. Service here is pretty quick and efficient. Their soft serves and cake slices are the best items on the menu but then again... expensive. Their drinks are terrible imo. Any drinks that is tea flavored are usually very powdery and watered down. Other drinks that are fruit flavored are extremely sweet and syrupy. Cute shop though. It has several tables with cute props.

It seemed there was only one person who was the hostess, taking orders, and delivering the food. I give her mad props. With the dinner rush she was all over it. This place has seemed to have gotten an elevated, more modern face lift/ renovation compared to the restaurant that used to be here. I was surprised that they didn't have standard sushi rolls that I'm usually accustomed to, but from the rolls that I've tried here... change is good. I ordered: 1. Corn tempura: First time seeing this, I love both corn and tempura. Had to see what it was about. It was perfection. Now it makes me wonder why this has never been done. 2. California roll: Standard staple and was good. 3. Warriors roll: It's an interesting combo, all items that I like.. first bite you're hit with a flavor explosion. At times I felt I couldn't taste the shrimp tempura, but the crunch from the crunchy onion ties it all together. 4. Beef steak: She recommended me to try this first before trying the daily special or short rib. She did not disappoint with this recommendation. The beef was so tender and flavorful. Upon entering the restaurant, it is a small space. There were two hostess/waitresses going around, but they were more focused on the customers already dining in so we were standing there for about 10 minutes before anyone noticed us. And honestly, they only realized we were there when a family of 6 came in after us. For some reason, that family of 6 was seated before we were. I guess they didn't have enough small tables so we ended up sitting at the counter near the bathroom. Here's what we got: - Chashu ramen (for me) - Dragon roll (to share) - Tempura udon (his) - Lion king roll (to share) Zach and I both got noodle dishes and shared the two rolls. Our noodles came first and then the rolls. The ramen was pretty standard and tasted fine. We also felt that the bowls were fairly small. The lion king roll though, we had to send it back because the salmon on top was only seared and I was 3 months pregnant at the time. My husband informed one of the waitresses that we needed a fully cooked Lion King roll. She took that away and a new (?) one was brought out about 10 minutes later. Between the two rolls, the dragon roll tasted better in freshness. Would I jump at the chance to come back here? Probably not. The service wasn't off to a good start and the food was just okay.
