My uncle told me about King Katsu Land and how their katsu is amazing! We got takeout here and it was great, so we decided to try it in person so it's nice and fresh! We came on a Saturday at 6PM and it wasn't too crowded yet. Once it got a little crowded, they have a yelp kiosk at the front of the door. We ordered the King Katsu with Curry and the Fish Katsu! We were served Miso soup to start, along with pickled radish and pickles! Both katsu meals came with mac salad, cabbage salad, and rice! Such a good value for how much the meal came out! The katsu was bigger than my hand! Our favorite was the Fish Katsu! It was crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside! Don't sleep on the fish katsu! Overall, great experience! Whenever I'm craving Katsu, I'll definitely stop by King Katsu!

Love the generous portions! Came for to go since we had our pup in the car with us, & we ordered the King Katsu with regular sauce, fish katsu & side of shrimp katsu. Really enjoyed how light & crispy the panko batter was on all 3 proteins & the katsu sauce was warm & tasted house made with a tomato base & not too sweet which we enjoyed. Loved the presentation of the king katsu as steam could escape making it stay crispy!

Huge katsu. Nicely cooked. Friendly service. Clean space to grab lunch. $20 katsu curry was tasty. I liked the curry flavor - and only gripe was the teaspoon of Mac salad served! . It tasted good but why not a whole ice cream scoop like a Hawaiian restaurant!! Omg. Jyw recommends

King Katsu Land has gigantic portions that can easily be shared between two people. The chicken katsu is my favorite, very juicy and crispy. The plate comes with two large pieces of katsu, curry sauce, macaroni salad, rice, and cabbage salad. The cheese katsu (cheese and pork) is perfect for those who love the cheese pull, but it's kind of rich/heavy. There's six pieces and I would recommend sharing this between 2-3 people since the flavor can get tiring. Meals also come with miso soup and pickles, and their katsu plates are each around $20. During peak hours, there can be a bit of a wait. Just put your name down on the tablet. The restaurant is moderately sized, but does feel a bit cramped. Service is fine, and you pay at the counter after your meal.

King Katsu land is a pretty popular spot here in South SF. If you come peak time on the weekend be prepared to wait a bit as they get full around 6. Overall the food comes fast and the portions as everyone says are pretty huge. If you can eat a ton, they even have a food challenge of a mega sized katsu. We've been here twice now since we wanted to come back and try the fried chicken as on top of the katsu. We shared one katsu plate and one wings. There is still plenty to take home. Katsu orders come with a peppery curry. Going to be honest and say the curry sauce is just okay. I'd prefer Japanese style or Hong Kong style maybe but this one is a little on the sweeter side. They also have a spicy which has a little kick to it. The curry is more runny that's normal curry so is kind of like a gravy vs a thick curry. Katsu is breaded well although the 1st visit the breading was separating from the pork. The chicken was fine. Breading is tasty though but kind of like eating it on the side when it didn't stay on the pork. But the second visit we didn't have that issue and it was much better. The cheese corn is really good although it is very rich. Not sure how much I could eat in one sitting. Would prefer the order to be smaller but lower in price by a bit. Overall a nice spot to grab dinner and probably expect some leftovers after unless you split a plate. Come off peak hours if you don't want to wait.

This place is so so yummy. I love a good katsu place and this is definitely one of them. I like the combination of Korean and Japanese that they have. The place is a decent size with tables all around. We were a group of 6 so there was a bit of a wait but nothing too bad. The staff were always checking on us and brought things out quickly. One of our dishes did get forgotten about so we had to ask them for it but they were able to bring it out soon after asking. Definitely give this place a try. Just be mindful that the entrance to the parking lot/plaza can be easy to miss

Another trip to King Katsu Land, and left with our tummies full and happy. Service was still good with the waitress continually checking if we needed anything else and refilling our drinks. Decor hasn't changed much, but I think they've added some more cute light fixtures since I've last been. We ordered the King's Combo and Yang Neom Chicken this time. This might be the way to go - a sampler of the popular Katsu options (chicken katsu, fish katsu, and hamburger steak) and a side of the Yang Neom Chicken. We were both surprised by how good the Yang Neom chicken was - perfectly bite sized and super tender with the right amount of sweet and sour sauce. Definitely coming back for this dish! Can't wait to come back next time I'm craving some Katsu.

The staff are great and welcoming when we arrived. A very casual place. Food came out super fast. Everyone received a miso soup. We were two adults with 3 kids and two entrees was plenty. We really liked the katsu fish and chicken (better than the pork). I do wish the pieces were a little less flatten so there would be less breading. I think that's why we liked the fish the most, it was super flatten so the fish was the juiciest. Will definitely be back to try the cheese and curry options.

Do you like cheese? Especially on your Katsu? This is the place for you King Katsu land is very casual restaurant but the employees definitely take care of you and make sure you're doing OK. I got the snowflake Katsu and holy cow. It was as big as if not bigger than my face. It also came with a curry sauce underneath the Katsu although I kind of wish there was more of it. It's Korean style Katsu so it is a lot thinner than Japanese style Katsu - it kind of reminds me of a schnitzel? My meal also came with miso soup, a giant scoop of rice, a giant scoop of Max salad that was delicious and a giant mound of cabbage salad to make me feel less guilty about all of the cheese I was about to eat. Will definitely be coming here again.

The king in the restaurant name is not a joke because the portion sizes here are HUGE. I am a pretty big eater and I could not fully finish off an order of the king katsu by myself. It comes with rice, mac salad, and cabbage. They also bring out a miso soup pretty early. I got the spicy curry option and it had a decent kick to it. Service is pretty quick and lots of parking in the lot (although it can be tricky to find behind some other buildings)

We were out and about and called my cousin to see if she and her husband were hungry for lunch. They said yes and suggested King Katsu Land. This was our first time but apparently, they love the quality of the food and the ridiculously large portions. The parking lot itself was an adventure to enter. Our GPS took us directly to the driveway but if we had been depending on a conventional map, there's no doubt that we would have driven past it a time or two as the restaurant cannot be seen from the entrance to the driveway. I was a bit worried as we walked to the front door as it was wide open. That usually means that the restaurant doesn't have working air conditioning. I hate being hot and sweaty when dining. We were seated upon entering. We told them that there were going to be four of us and it should have been quite obvious that the rest of our table hadn't arrived yet, but it seemed like they were on auto drive. Shortly after we sat, a water pitcher, glasses, some pickles and Miso Soup were presented for all four of us even though two seats were still empty. Fortunately, my cousin arrived before her Miso Soup had time to get cold. I ordered the King Katsu with Curry Sauce while my wife got the Cold Soba. My cousins husband ordered the Kid's Katsu, Corn Cheese and a Small Korean Style Boneless Fried Chicken. Their Kid's portion was quite large as he said that it would be. Mine was so large, I had enough for lunch and then breakfast and dinner the next day. I barely touched the Cheese Corn or the Fried Chicken. The food was very good overall and a very good value. Service was pretty good though it would have been nice if they had offered a refill on my soda.

So good!! Portions are huge and perfect for sharing. I went with my family (6 adults and 2 babies) and we enjoyed our meal. My favorites were the garlic KFC and the king tonkatsu cutlet. They had high chairs available for the babies, but at one point they were all being used and someone had to wait for ours. I like that they give sauces on the side so you can choose which to use! The sauces weren't amazing but I still enjoyed using them with the crispy katsu.

    Fish Katsu and King Katsu

I've gotten King Katsu Land two times now and the katsu is really delicious! The katsu is perfectly fried and they have a variety of katsu choices on the menu. I also enjoy the sides that are included: rice, mac salad, yellow radish, pickles, and shredded cabbage salad. All of these sides really help balance the meal. The King Katsu is a good default choice, it's their korean style wide and thin cut pork cutlet and comes with a tangy sauce. The tangy sauce isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed it. You can pick between spicy or regular for the sauce. I tried the spicy sauce and was surprised that it actually had quite the kick! I really enjoyed the Fish Katsu when I tried it the first time, so I had to order it for my second visit. The fish katsu batter was perfect and the tartar sauce was excellent as well. I wished there were a couple more pieces because I definitely wanted to eat more! My only gripe is that for my second visit, they actually forgot the fish katsu and we didn't find out until after opening the bag. Thankfully, we were still nearby, so we drove back to get the rest of the order. It would have really sucked if we didn't find out until many miles away.

We were seated right away and decided to share the gal bi ribs (dinner size portion), the bibim naengmyun cold noodles, and a portion of purple rice. Our server brought out a kettle of hot tea and array of banchan, which we grazed on while we waited for the ribs and noodles. The ribs came out first, served sizzling hot on a ceramic dish. The dinner portion appeared to be way more meat than the two of us could finish, although our server had recommended the dinner portion would be more appropriate for two people. Some of the ribs didn't have much meat on them, but we still had plenty left over once we'd eaten our fill. The bibim naengmyun was served about 15-20 minutes after the ribs. The noodles were coated in a sweet and spicy sauce, but the cooling texture of the noodles helped temper the heat. I also really enjoyed the sweet potato, cucumber, and Asian pear toppings, which added freshness and crunch. We had tons of leftovers after our meal, so next time, we'd stick with the lunch-sized portions.

Very friendly as always. Gave us a tea kettle after we sat down and had some warm tea before we ordered. That was nice. They also gave us a pitcher of cold ice water. When we were ready to order they came to us right away. We ordered 2 Pork dumpling tofu stew soup and bul go gi (marinated rib eye beef). First they served us the ban chan which consist of jap chae (glass noodle with veggies), marinated broccoli, sprouts, Kim chi, cucumber and potato(savory, very good). They also gave us the purple rice and 2 eggs for our tofu stew. All the banchans were fresh and delicious!!! I love the jap chae. It was cooked perfectly. The rest of the ban chans were seasoned just right! It was hard to stop eating them before our meal arrived. I look forward to coming here for their ban chans as it is a treat. Next came our Bul Go Gi on a sizzling platter. Yes, it was not sizzling but I prefer it this way as the meat was tender and great with the ban chans. Before when it came out sizzling the bottom meats would be crispy and dry. But this time it stayed moist and delicious!!! Love the onions with the marinated sauce. Next our tofu soup came and it was very HOT and sizzling. We dropped the egg into our tofu soup and dig in. The soup was very tasty, full of umami flavors. The tofu was silky to your mouth. The pork dumpling soaked in the flavors from the soup and was sooo yummy!!! We put some of the bul go gi and kimchi in the soup and that elevated the flavors into a different level. The ladies asked us if we were doing fine and replenished our ban chans. I felt like I was eating home. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Last time we were here was last year and our experience was the same...,Full and Happy with their delicious food. This place is a gem with real authentic Korean cuisine. We ordered a seafood jjamppong and and a jajang mein. Both came out quite quickly, and the portion sizes seemed pretty good for the price. However, it felt like they skimped a little on the proteins, and the flavors were not as good as other Korean places I've had. The jjamppong had a good amount of spice, but it felt like we were just eating noodles with minimal seafood. The soup was a little bland and the overall flavor profile was not to my expectations. The Jajang Mein was also weird in a way that it wasn't Chinese or Korean, but a worse of both worlds. There were only a few slices of cucumber which made the entire dish heavy. There was seafood which was a little weird, and the pork they gave was surprisingly little compared to the amount of sauce. Safe to say that no dishes were finished due to the carb to protein ratio. Aside from the location and the perk of being locally owned, I believe HMart just down the street has a better flavor profile and experience, I cannot comment on their other dishes, but would recommend people ordering 1 noodle dish per 2 people, as they use the same noodles for everything, and to prevent the carb overload. Maybe their other dishes are more redeeming in quality and flavor, but I do not see myself coming back.

Service is very quick even when busy, and the banchan comes out after you place your order. I came at 6PM on a Sunday and the restaurant had a few tables open. They can fill up quick, and appears to accommodate large parties by moving tables together. This is one of the few places I've been where they serve a fried mackerel with banchan iykyk. I ordered a Kimchi Jjim and seafood pancake. First off, their portions are large and their tables are small, so i found myself organizing our small table for two considering the banchan, water, bowls, rice, and main courses. The Kimchi Jjim was amazing - a good kick of flavorful and is not too spicy. They cut the kimchi after bringing the soup, just like how they do it in Korea. There was a lot of pork and substance in the soup, and it felt of really good value given how much you need to prepare to make a bowl of it. The seafood pancake was also a hit, but I recommend ordering and sharing amongst 4 people. It's a little oily, but the seafood taste and substance are not skimped on. It tasted freshly fried given how crispy it was, and was overall an enjoyable dish. With prices and portions in balance, it's no wonder this is one of the few places with a line out the door around 6:30PM on a Sunday. Given how many Koreans came here, I wouldn't doubt that this place falls any short of authentic Korean food. If you're a fan of Korean food and some lesser known Korean dishes, then you're in for a treat.
