I won't lie, I doubted the place by the name but HOLYYYYY it lives up to it! I got a green curry with tofu, basil fried rice with tofu, and a drunken noodles with beef. All were good, but I definitely recommend the tofu over the beef as it was slightly chewy and overcooked compared to the silky smooth tofu. The drunken noodles were by far my party's favorite and are definitely a must order! Staff was friendly and gratuity is included, even for a party of 2. Came here today for lunch, wasn't feeling very hungry so we ordered 1 lunch special for the 2 of us but when we asked for another set of utensils, we were told by the waitress that we cannot share a lunch special. I've somehow never realized this place existed despite passing this a thousand times. It's about a 15 -20 min walk from downtown, so it can be easy to miss. Parking isn't that easy, we ended up parking on Pine Street which is a little far. We made a reservation for our group for a Saturday night, but I don't think it was actually needed. There was a lot of space outdoors and some indoors. The staff were really kind and would drop by often. I have a lot of pride for my spice tolerance but the green curry here humbled me. I was blowing my nose and couldn't even finish the dish. It's surprising that they do not ask for level of spice like in other Thai restaurants, I wonder if you're able to ask for modifications. Despite this, the curry was flavorful and the amount of seafood was fair for the price. The crab rangoons were decent with the sauce elevating them. My favorite item actually ended up being the lychee Thai tea! It tasted exactly like Thai tea with the right amount of lychee to make this drink refreshing, especially for the jersey humidity. Was our first real outing post Covid lockdown . Driving back from Princeton we made an impromptu decision to pick up dinner as we were hungry and didn't want to eat the same ol home food. Choices were limited for quick take out as most places had a long wait . Given we were in a rush , I picked Amazing Thai as it had good Yelp reviews , the food pictures looked appetizing and they promised a 30 min takeout! We just ordered veggie spring roll (fried ) & chicken drunken noodles. Picked up and food and we opened the spring roll in the car . Wanted to taste it when it was fresh & hot . There were just 3 small rolls with a side of mustard vinegar dipping sauce. Was crunchy , inside out , delicately spiced with the tangy pungent dipping sauce . We even missed taking a picture for Yelp and remembered when I got to the last bite. We were kicked into high gear for the spring roll experience that we got home & excitedly opened the so called super spicy drunken noodles . First look ... pale white looking noodles ...... silence for a few seconds ......hmmmmm! Heavy breathing pursued the silence ... the real deal noodles wasn't anything like it was in the pictures on Yelp nor did it appear spicy or seasoned like I've seen the dish at other Thai restaurants. Warmed some in a bowl and too my first bite . Wide flat noodles was definitely fresh made and that was it ! Other than salt there was no seasoning that I could taste . Spices or spicy had no place in describing this dish. Bland & Blah are the right words that came to my mind . I prefer not to write something bad about a place especially in challenging times like this . But I don't want other yelpers to be misled by their menu description or pictures & be disappointed expecting a spicy dish. The Chicken in the noodles was plain cooked and didn't add much to the dish . I pushed most of the noodles down my throat over a 25 minute span, as I didn't want to throw or waste food. Pretty good place. Like others have said they have a very cute outdoor set up and plenty of heat lamps to stay warm. Seems like they aren't fully staffed and only have one person taking care of everyone so things were a little slow compared to other places but not too big of a problem. Chicken Pad Thai was good, but nothing spectacular. The chicken was very soft and tasty and the portion was about what you would expect for the price you pay. Definitely think they could make this even better with either cilantro or green onions to balance the thai sauce. You'll leave here satisifed but definitely wishing for a little more. Amazing Thai is a new Thai restaurant that just opened in the old location of Tiger Noodles. They're a step above the other Thai options in Princeton, both in ambience and in variety of dishes (better food than Thai Village and more selection than Lil Thai Pin). Their menu (available on their website https://www.amazingthainj.com/ ) carries a range of Thai dishes, including many that aren't easily found in this area. They also have several vegan options, including Mock Duck. They're currently open for takeout (by phone or online at their website) and outdoor dining on their shaded special. I think they also deliver on Grubhub. I've only tried a couple of the lunch special stir fries so far, which are reasonably priced and come with a side of jasmine rice and appetizer of choice. Between the Japanese eggplant holy basil and spicy bamboo, I preferred the latter (it was spicier and not as sweet), though both were on the sweet side. The default spiciness level is medium, so if you like really spicy food I recommend asking them to increase the heat. I'd like to try more of their menu, especially some of their Amazing Specialty dishes, Thai Sour Pork Sausage, and Thai-Northern Dip (https://www.instagram.com/p/CDu0TfyhRMP/). Amazing Thai is the second Asian restaurant to open in Princeton since COVID-19 with more elevated options than is typical for the area, after Schouse (Chinese) a few blocks down on Nassau. This is a small Thai restaurant and has solid Thai food in a hip university town. The spicy salad was decently spicey and was a basic lettuce and nuts. The tom young soup did not have enough lemongrass in our opinion. The drunken noodles was very good and had the right texture. Great place for good food. First of all, the interior is simply gorgeous. There are the huge gold chandelier, The restaurant is also decorated in an authentic fashion with the standing buddha at the front and the golden bell lighting. As for the food, I ordered Squid ink spaghetti, this dish was pretty big and presented beautifully. Furthermore, the dish tasted so so good- the noodle was so flavorful, both sweet and savory and were perfectly cooked. The service was great too. They were friendly and attentive. On Nassau Street between Pine and Maple on the north side of Princeton, Amazing Thai set up shop in the space formerly occupied by Tiger Noodles (now a block south). They freshened up the outdoor patio eating area, and modernized the interior with more attractive and comfortable furniture. It feels upscale, which it carries through with the cuisine that comes out of the kitchen. I sat out on the patio overlooking Nassau on a beautiful late April afternoon, warm refreshing breeze blowing the scent of blooming trees and flowers over me, much like an early morning walking the beach in Pattaya. I got a bit lost in the moment. I ordered their Drunken Noodles w Chicken, "Thai Spicy." The server taking my order looked at me to be sure she understood what I said, and that I knew what I was asking for. I did. She nodded and went inside to place my request with the kitchen. I was tempted to also explore the Tom Kha Soup, but the $9 tag deterred me. $16 for the rice noodles was enough for lunch. So happens that the dish was remarkable. Fresh, broad noodles mixed with green/red bell peppers, sliced sweet onion, thin chicken and a superior five alarm chili paste sauce coating everything. The first bite stung my tongue and gums, but I quickly adjusted to it, and thoroughly enjoyed the rest. It was among the best burning noodles I have sampled around here. So glad they believed me about how many Scovilles I desired. Loved it so much I ordered another to go to share with the family last night. I do suggest they find a smaller portion/lower price point for their appetizers and soups, to encourage more adventurous dining. PRO TIP - Know why this dish is called, "Drunken Noodles?" I've been to amazing Thai twice - first time ordered drunken noodle and a veggie dish (forgot its name) the drunken noodle was pretty decent. The veggie dish w Chinese broccoli and tofu had a strong taste of sourness - I personally found it a bit unbalanced and the rest of the group didn't enjoy it either. Went in yesterday cuz I was craving for some red curry. Having sampled my friends red curry last week from lil Thai pin and having noticed their prices didn't differ much during dinner time I decided to walk to amazing Thai to try their red curry to compare. We visited this place on a Thursday evening and no prior reservations were needed. We called in to check if reservations are needed and we were told otherwise. It is at the end of the long restaurant list in the Nassau street North bound. Road side paid parking can be found on both sides of the place for couple of blocks however I wouldn't count on it when weekend is round the corner. Palmer Square and Chamber street garages which are located around 7-10 mins walk from here are the best bet. Coming to the restaurant itself, there is outdoor seating in suitable seasons as well as indoor. They take customer's choice to get them seated. No alcohols on the menu however it is a BYOB. Good number of Thai specialty non-alcoholic drinks and Mocktail options are available. We recommend their Lychee Thai tea, if you like sweet tea . We tried their Tom yum soup and Pad Thai spring rolls. The soup was average however the sauce that they serve with the spring roll was noteworthy. The sauce enhances the taste of spring rolls. Off course how can we not talk about curry's in a Thai restaurant. Their Jungle curry is not popular amongst customers but if you like spicy food, go for it. We enjoyed it. Penang curry was definitely one of the top 10 that we have tried. Service is something that we have no complaints about. The waiter was patient, courteous and warned us in prior about the spicy Jungle curry. Food comes out reasonably quick considering we had about 7 more tables apart from us when we visited. The ambiance outdoor on a sunny spring day without music was just the way we liked. There can be noise from talks on other tables as there was no music if you like a quiet meal. All in all, definitely worth at least one visit. Considering there are other Thai options nearby, this one may even stand out if you like it outdoors and even comparing the tastes with other options. We are Thai food big fan. Trying out this new Thai restaurant and hoping the food is as amazing as it's name. However, it's a very disappointing meal. The decor inside is very beautiful. The Thai waiter is very friendly and polite. He provides an excellent service although he is the only one who running around (caused slow service but his friendliness make up for that) When I eat Thai food, I expect excitement from the very first bite to last. But yesterday was rather dull. It's mainly sweet (I supposed they try to cater to American) and it's really not spicy at all. To be clear it's not bad but it's simply boring.
