Such a great little spot! The atmosphere is sort of old and dreary but the food is nothing short from amazing! We got the pepper chicken spicy & the orange chicken. Loved it all and will be back.

This is my go to fast Chinese restaurant, I wish it was closer to me! I order from this place at least once a week on uber eats! My go-to is the chicken and broccoli, it's consistently good! I usually order their house lo mein (without water chestnuts and baby corn), and that always hits the spot. For this week's order I just got chicken and broccoli (pictured below) with 2 egg rolls! Everything was so good and tasted fresh! About a month or two ago I ordered some broccoli and brown sauce on uber eats, they forgot to put the brown sauce on the broccoli so I called, they took my information down and told me that I can come by to get a free broccoli and brown sauce whenever I could which wasn't a problem for me because I eat here so often! So great great service! And inside is very cozy, a little step up from your normal fast Chinese places, and again, the food is GOOD!

Hands down the best Chinese food in Charlotte! I've been coming here for years for lunch and dinner, and they always have great service and portions at a great price. They are a staple in the community.

I have been coming to Amazing Wok since 2011. I recently moved back down to the area and was so excited to have the best Chinese food back in my backyard! My boyfriend and I were very excited to be able to dine in after the Covid restrictions were lifted! I used to love dining in their restaurant. It is so cozy and clean! I was excited to finally share the experience with him. The staff is fantastic, very sweet, and make you feel like family. I always get the beef chow fun, and I want an egg drop soup. If you're feeling crazy you need to get the steamed dumplings! The filling is fantastic!!

Do not get their chicken lettuce wraps. its just small bits of over fried chicken. there are no veggies or water chestnuts - nothing healthy about this dish.

I have never eaten inside, but I carry out and DoorDash quite often. My "go twos " are the Kung pow chicken and Singapore noodles. Both are reasonably consistently good but on occasion are dry or short of spice.

Still no change your average place. Hot and spicy beef was good though. Portions are massive when you sit down.

The Food- The Ambience-…read more The Service- I visited this place from out of town and the food was so dang good, I almost ordered a second helping of the eggplant dish just to bring back to Va. I didn't even get a picture of it because I was in a trance. I also had the braised beef noodle soup (pictured), top tier please visit this place. I'm plotting my next outing JUST to go here. I am a foodie at heart. My friend had the Ma-La Dried Peppers Chicken, that was also incredible. Everything has sooooo much flavor. The eggplant was hands down the best I've ever had in my life. Go on their website, the food looks just like the pictures in real life. It's also super clean inside. Just go, you won't be disappointed !

I was in one of those "I need noodles immediately" moods, and Sun's Kitchen did not disappoint. I called my order in for takeout, and everything was packed perfectly. No leaks, no mess, still hot when I got home, and the portion was surprisingly generous for the price. The dan dan noodles here are rich, savory, a little spicy, and incredibly comforting. If you're not familiar with them, dan dan noodles are a classic Sichuan street food dish from Chengdu traditionally tossed in a spicy, numbing ma-la sauce with pork, scallions, and pickled vegetables. Sun's Kitchen does a really delicious version that's flavorful without feeling too heavy. The noodles have that perfect chewy texture, and every bite has just enough heat to keep you going back for more. If you're someone who's curious about ethnic food but maybe unsure where to start, this is honestly a great entry-level dish. Yes, there's a little spice, but it's approachable and balanced. The dining room itself is modern and beautiful, and now that they serve beer and wine, I definitely need to come back and enjoy a full dine-in experience instead of rushing home with takeout. The only caveat is the parking lot can get a little chaotic since it's shared with neighboring businesses, especially during busy hours. But trust me, it's worth circling for a spot. Charlotte, there's a big wide world of food out there, and places like Sun's Kitchen make exploring it easy and delicious. Get out there and eat your way through it.

It's a very family, fast paced quick service spot. But they hit the spot. The orange chicken was nice and crispy, came out piping hot. Had to give it a minute to cool. The broccoli was also done really well! Not mushy and still had a good crunch. May be a regular spot for a quick and comforting dinner.

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. Get out there and eat your way through Charlotte.

Whenever I am up in Charlotte, I look forward to my meal here. I love going early on weekends (avoid the crowd and wait time) when they have cart service. So much to choose from. Unfortunately, the execution didn't quite live up to expectations. Many of the hot items coming around on the carts--especially the dumplings and rice noodle dishes--were noticeably cold by the time they reached the table. Service also seemed strained; the restaurant appeared short-staffed, which made it difficult to get attention or request specific items. The portions felt small for the price point, and overall it didn't feel like a great value for the money. Despite that, the restaurant is absolutely packed every weekend, so clearly it has a loyal following. Having experienced incredible dim sum in places like Sugar Land, Texas, and especially throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, it's hard not to compare. Those spots set a very high bar, and unfortunately Open Rice Metropolitan doesn't quite measure up.

It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.
