I recommend! Quick service, called my order in within 10mins my order was hot and ready. The food was good basic chinese food. I ordered the fried chicken wings and vegetable fried rice. The fried chicken wings are fried good with basic seasoning. Now the vegetable fried rice I found very interesting, which had onions, sprouts egg, and broccoli bits. Which was different from a typical vegetable fried rice that I've had before, but it was good and fresh. I ordered a small egg drop soup, which was hot and delicious! The ambience was clean and it was not very busy when I went to pick up my order great for family dinner or dinner date.

For Chinese takeout I thought this place was good! My general tso's chicken was delicious. Rice and soup were also great. I wasn't the biggest fan of the dumplings or the Rangoons, but everything else was really good! Will definitely come back when in the mood for Chinese takeout again.

Great service and very friendly staff. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, with a high health department rating. Always a comfortable place to dine.

My colleague ordered food from Ho Ho Cherry House for us, and I decided to try the hot and sour soup--it was amazing! Definitely hit the spot. I also appreciated the little details, like the fortune cookies' wrapping with roses. Such a nice touch!

So, my last review was in 2013 and was via delivery. So, after moving in the area and trying it recently Ho Ho Cherry House definitely deserved an update. I ordered Wonton Soup, Shrimp Fried Rice and their Happy Family (I think that is the name) which includes, steak, chicken and shrimp with mixed vegetables in a brown sauce. The Wonton Soup, no flavor, very disappointing. The rice was good, but like the soup the Happy Family had no flavor. The sauce was watered down, the veggies were cooked but the proteins were chewy and the shrimp wasn't cleaned properly. I love Chinese food, and so wanted to like it more being that I can walk to this location, but most likely will drive a little further for the other places that offer better food.

Your average hole in the wall Chinese food. Decided to order Chinese on DoorDash and came across this restaurant so I decided to try them out! You get what you pay for and you can't beat the price. I always get general tso chicken. It was crispy and hot when I received it. Some other Chinese places only have the chicken for the entree but here the broccoli is an added bonus that others don't include. You receive an egg roll that is smaller than your usual Chinese food places. Overall, the portion of the chicken and broccoli is bigger than your portion of rice. The taste of the food was fine to me and I would probably order here again.

I had their chicken and broccoli lunch special and it was so fresh and delusions. I was surprised at how fresh it was. It was very affordable as well. It came with a spring roll. The service was amazing too. The black lady at the front was so nice and kind. The ambiance is no frills but very clean. Will be bac

The boyfriend and I found ourselves in CLT on a Saturday afternoon and wanted something to eat! We were already at Pet Supplies Plus and figured, why not just eat at the Ho Ho Cherry House next door? The name of this place piqued our curiosity and we decided to take a look inside. Very clean interior, oriental themed of course. We were greeted immediately upon entry and our orders were promptly taken. We were the only ones in the restaurant at one o'clock on a Saturday, which is a shame! I appreciated the fact that I was offered the lunch special, even though she could've just given me the more expensive plate and I wouldn't have known the difference. I ordered the General Tso Chicken, Fried Rice, and Eggroll and boyfriend ordered the 6-Wing special with Pork Fried Rice. We sat at our table and our food was brought to us very quickly, I'd say within 5-7 minutes. Portions were HUGE and food was so fresh, it was steaming hot! We left with full bellies and so many leftovers. I really encourage you to give Ho Ho Cherry House a try! They have a huge menu and great service!

I actually loved the bright, comfy vibe of the place. Thought it could use a bit louder music to fill the space. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, Rainbow Dumplings and this Mango Jasmine Tea drink...and they were all pretty good. Still, I was surprised how my bill totaled about 35 bucks. Normally, I'm not too surprised by the pricing (even for lunch), but it felt a bit high...given that everything was served on paper and plastic wares. I did like how they have these DIY take-home plastic wares accessible and ready to go...so some points for that! Overall, it's just a casual eatery...not a full scale restaurant. I prefer full scale service, complete with nicely plated presentations, but this type of DIY eatery is just something that's becoming more common.

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. I've been chasing good, authentic (or nostalgic?) Chinese food, and I finally found some while visiting the area. The space is bright, open, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the actual experience was nothing like the hype. First, parking is a nightmare. I would seriously add an extra 20-30 minutes just to find a spot. Once we finally made it inside, we waited another 30 minutes to be seated. After sitting down, it took close to another 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and then roughly another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. So you're potentially looking at well over an hour and a half of waiting and inconvenience before you really get to eat. And the dim sum cart that brought us there in the first place? We never saw one. They did have a dim sum menu that we could order from, but that was not the experience being promoted in the videos we had seen. The food itself was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing justified the hype or the amount of time and hassle involved. If you've had good dim sum in places like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, this isn't remotely in the same league. Between the parking, the long waits, slow service, missing dim sum cart, and average food, I genuinely don't understand the crowds. Hard pass for us. Once and done.

It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.
