    Egg Drop Soup

I recommend! Quick service, called my order in within 10mins my order was hot and ready. The food was good basic chinese food. I ordered the fried chicken wings and vegetable fried rice. The fried chicken wings are fried good with basic seasoning. Now the vegetable fried rice I found very interesting, which had onions, sprouts egg, and broccoli bits. Which was different from a typical vegetable fried rice that I've had before, but it was good and fresh. I ordered a small egg drop soup, which was hot and delicious! The ambience was clean and it was not very busy when I went to pick up my order great for family dinner or dinner date.

For Chinese takeout I thought this place was good! My general tso's chicken was delicious. Rice and soup were also great. I wasn't the biggest fan of the dumplings or the Rangoons, but everything else was really good! Will definitely come back when in the mood for Chinese takeout again.

Great service and very friendly staff. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, with a high health department rating. Always a comfortable place to dine.

My colleague ordered food from Ho Ho Cherry House for us, and I decided to try the hot and sour soup--it was amazing! Definitely hit the spot. I also appreciated the little details, like the fortune cookies' wrapping with roses. Such a nice touch!

The boyfriend and I found ourselves in CLT on a Saturday afternoon and wanted something to eat! We were already at Pet Supplies Plus and figured, why not just eat at the Ho Ho Cherry House next door? The name of this place piqued our curiosity and we decided to take a look inside. Very clean interior, oriental themed of course. We were greeted immediately upon entry and our orders were promptly taken. We were the only ones in the restaurant at one o'clock on a Saturday, which is a shame! I appreciated the fact that I was offered the lunch special, even though she could've just given me the more expensive plate and I wouldn't have known the difference. I ordered the General Tso Chicken, Fried Rice, and Eggroll and boyfriend ordered the 6-Wing special with Pork Fried Rice. We sat at our table and our food was brought to us very quickly, I'd say within 5-7 minutes. Portions were HUGE and food was so fresh, it was steaming hot! We left with full bellies and so many leftovers. I really encourage you to give Ho Ho Cherry House a try! They have a huge menu and great service!

    Wonton Soup..why so yellow?

So, my last review was in 2013 and was via delivery. So, after moving in the area and trying it recently Ho Ho Cherry House definitely deserved an update. I ordered Wonton Soup, Shrimp Fried Rice and their Happy Family (I think that is the name) which includes, steak, chicken and shrimp with mixed vegetables in a brown sauce. The Wonton Soup, no flavor, very disappointing. The rice was good, but like the soup the Happy Family had no flavor. The sauce was watered down, the veggies were cooked but the proteins were chewy and the shrimp wasn't cleaned properly. I love Chinese food, and so wanted to like it more being that I can walk to this location, but most likely will drive a little further for the other places that offer better food.

Your average hole in the wall Chinese food. Decided to order Chinese on DoorDash and came across this restaurant so I decided to try them out! You get what you pay for and you can't beat the price. I always get general tso chicken. It was crispy and hot when I received it. Some other Chinese places only have the chicken for the entree but here the broccoli is an added bonus that others don't include. You receive an egg roll that is smaller than your usual Chinese food places. Overall, the portion of the chicken and broccoli is bigger than your portion of rice. The taste of the food was fine to me and I would probably order here again.

I had their chicken and broccoli lunch special and it was so fresh and delusions. I was surprised at how fresh it was. It was very affordable as well. It came with a spring roll. The service was amazing too. The black lady at the front was so nice and kind. The ambiance is no frills but very clean. Will be bac

I was in one of those "I need noodles immediately" moods, and Sun's Kitchen did not disappoint. I called my order in for takeout, and everything was packed perfectly. No leaks, no mess, still hot when I got home, and the portion was surprisingly generous for the price. The dan dan noodles here are rich, savory, a little spicy, and incredibly comforting. If you're not familiar with them, dan dan noodles are a classic Sichuan street food dish from Chengdu traditionally tossed in a spicy, numbing ma-la sauce with pork, scallions, and pickled vegetables. Sun's Kitchen does a really delicious version that's flavorful without feeling too heavy. The noodles have that perfect chewy texture, and every bite has just enough heat to keep you going back for more. If you're someone who's curious about ethnic food but maybe unsure where to start, this is honestly a great entry-level dish. Yes, there's a little spice, but it's approachable and balanced. The dining room itself is modern and beautiful, and now that they serve beer and wine, I definitely need to come back and enjoy a full dine-in experience instead of rushing home with takeout. The only caveat is the parking lot can get a little chaotic since it's shared with neighboring businesses, especially during busy hours. But trust me, it's worth circling for a spot. Charlotte, there's a big wide world of food out there, and places like Sun's Kitchen make exploring it easy and delicious. Get out there and eat your way through it.

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. Unfortunately, the execution didn't quite live up to expectations. Many of the hot items coming around on the carts--especially the dumplings and rice noodle dishes--were noticeably cold by the time they reached the table. Service also seemed strained; the restaurant appeared short-staffed, which made it difficult to get attention or request specific items. The portions felt small for the price point, and overall it didn't feel like a great value for the money. Despite that, the restaurant is absolutely packed every weekend, so clearly it has a loyal following. It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.
