Like everyone else, I waited quite a while for this store to open - hoping that it would bring more choices in the area (there's actually a lot of grocery options nearby, but the items carried are quite similar). While the opening of this store did bring something different, I'm not sure it was exactly the different that I was hoping for. The big draw of Amazon Fresh is probably in its tech. There's Alexa throughout the store to give you guidance and nice digital signage throughout. This does give the store a more modern feel, though having been to other Amazon Fresh locations, I was hoping that it would feel a bit more futuristic now. However in this regard, Amazon Fresh just feels very similar to whole foods with a bit lower prices and different brand options. In terms of the cart, this is where I wish that it were improved a bit. I'm not sure that the scanning is really significantly better than what they've had in the last few years, which for me makes this process not a smooth and effortless as it could be with even better technology. The initial setup is also still a bit confusing for newcomers who may find the pairing process with the cart a little confusing without someone to point out where to find the links on the interface. Similarly, without a little guidance on the self-checkout process, it can be a bit confusing as well. The food selection here is pretty standard for an Amazon Fresh, which isn't too different from what you'd expect to find at Jewel. There are different pricing levels available, with a lot of the most competitive items being store brand with Prime pricing. Overall selection seems to be quite good in the dry goods and frozen items -- I was a bit disappointed in some of the fresh items as I was hoping for more in-house items in the bakery and a bit larger selection of ready-to-eat items. While they don't have a bad selection, many local grocery stores have a substantial number of cakes, breads, meats, entrees, etc. available to easily pickup and very competitive prices. This alone may keep me from visiting more often as having a variety of these convenient entrees is important for my busy work schedule and fresh bakery items / cakes is important for my busy social schedule. Overall, interesting new option in the area for groceries. While not bad, it doesn't meet my needs as good as I'd hoped at the time of this writing - however the overall store cleanliness, generally competitive prices, and use of newer technologies is something that's still not common at other grocery stores yet. read more

Ok, so let's get things straight. This is the grand opening. Things are going to be a bit jank. I'm not deducting points for computer issues or issues with the ambience. Though they are noted. On entry staff greet visitors. I assume this will be normal ongoing activity at least while the store is newer and people are still integrating DashCarts into their lifestyle. Inside of the store is ample space to move even with a high throughput of customers. THROUGHPUT is important here. The store is BUSY but the customer flow is fast and people are quick moving inside. The noise level is above average, Yo Amazon, will ya turn down the ambient music? People are trying to think in here! I can't hear myself think let alone run a register with these noise levels! The self checkout systems are decent though the hardware needs serious work. Touch screens take way too much force to activate. Scan guns don't pick up in store codes easily not for clients nor associates. It doesn't matter who is running the register. These screens and guns need to be calibrated, full stop! Thank goodness the staff here are astonishingly polite and helpful. A staff agent followed us through the entire self checkout and took note of problems with the checkout system. Hopefully these issues will be worked on. Sushi was good and fresh. I'll definitely return for groceries here as long as prices stay competitive and for the love of god. Opened up near LA Fitness so I decided to check it out. Selection is minimal and prices are higher than Costco and Jewel. The few employees I spoke with seemed disgruntled and unhelpful... pizza question was annoying apparently to the older lady giving angry lunch lady vibes. Stick with Whole Foods or the Schaumburg location for any Amazon food you want, what a waste of time. This place is horrid and I'm putting the 2 things o picked up back. read more

This store is pretty good. I can't imagine a perfect grocery store. I don't buy alcohol or look much at the precooked section, but I had a small cake once, and it was good. Some of the things I buy are much lower than those of Whole Foods or Jewel; some are more expensive. The coupon for a 50-dollar purchase changed from 10 to 5 dollars off a 50-dollar purchase recently. I think you can also get money off a purchase over 40 if you bring your return into this store, which is why I went in there at first. I hit the wrong return button. Some items can also be found at Whole Foods for more money. I don't live as close to the Whole Foods. It's not generally that busy inside the store yet, but I see it as worth having as an option. The cashiers are friendly enough. I picked up an order once. The service was much better than Jewel's. I can't say it has the product selection of Jewel or Whole Foods, and sometimes they do seem to run out of things, but it's still a decent store. It could be great if you were having a party for a sporting event. There is a lot of ready-made stuff and snacks, although the bottled water is more expensive than it usually sells for at Target. I typically pick up non-food items at Target and Costco, but the selections appear limited here. Tip: I am putting this here because I was going to leave a tip and couldn't find the button. When you order bananas, they give you a grouping of them. I ordered 5, so I had a lot more bananas than I expected. They were delicious bananas, though. There was a lot of buzz around the recent opening of this Amazon Fresh, so I went to check it out. The biggest difference between Amazon Fresh and your typical grocery store is the technology used. There is a helpful employee to help you connect your Amazon account. You can scan your items as you put them in your cart. My favorite part is that you can walk out of the store without going through a checkout line!!! You will be checked out automatically and emailed a receipt. There are Alexas throughout the store to assist you. Despite that, your experience is like that of any other grocery store. There were some good prices and some not so competitive prices. For shopping without annoying checkout lines, I recommend Amazon Fresh. read more

This Amazon Fresh just opened at 8am today, 7-25-2024. It's moderately busy at mid morning and not crazy. They have a big parking lot and are handing out free tote bags at the moment. I've been to this location on two occasions. The first visit was on a Tuesday afternoon, they were out of many specials. Okay, I can understand that. It's the last day of the specials. BUT, my second visit was today which is the FIRST day of their ad and they were already out of two of the things I went there for?!! I just walked out! It seems that they are limiting the number of sales items they want to sell per day. With all of the electronics that Amazon has, that seems to be the only explanation. read more

We have visited this store twice in the recent months, including today. In both cases they were completely out of the featured special, which in this case and the last were beef steaks. Today they were out of the advertise item before 4:00 p.m. on the day the advertising broke. It almost appears that this is is a intentional shortage. read more

I didn't rate this location 1 star because I've never been inside, only did a pickup order, but it was a memorably poor experience compared to my experiences with Target and Whole Foods pickup orders. Even though the price of organic chicken thighs was the same as Whole Foods, they packed chicken with a sell by date of that day so we couldn't cook it for hosting friends later in the week. The deflated organic girl salad greens that they packed said 30% off, but it wasn't reflected in the invoice. This experience does not persuade me to shop at amazon fresh. I'd rather shop elsewhere. read more

I really miss this place. It had great prices, lots of foods, and I loved it. They even had a little pizza area where you can get some for yourself. I don't really understand why they would close such a good place. The employees were very nice. It wasn't too crowded which is great. read more

Been back here and there for sale items. It's so quiet in here. Easy to get in and out. Weekend before Thanksgiving and it's so dead in here. Not a good sign. I've gotten to enjoy their hot bar and cheap rotisserie chickens. Nothing today on a Saturday. Barely anyone in here. Sad store that won't last. read more

Went on opening day and was not overly impressed. I was greeted upon entering the store and offered a flyer. They have Dash Carts with touchscreens, and most customers and workers were struggling with the technology. The store was well stocked and there is a salad and hot bar . They do have self checkout . Not sure I would go out of my way to return. read more

Did an online pickup order. Drove to the store checked in and no one came out for 30 minutes. I called the number listed which is just the generic amazon customer service number, got transferred to the generic amazon fresh department and they could not transfer me to the store, only give me the phone number. sat on hold for 7 minutes. I went into the store and no one had even noticed that the bell for curbside pickup had gone off. no one knew i was out there waiting with several other customers. this scenario has happened twice to me! do NOT use them for curbside pickup. read more

The cashier Patricia was super nice , but this one customer service guy was really rude . I asked him a question in Spanish and he asked if I spoke English, and when I said yes, he said 'this is America, speak English. It really made me mad, especially since it's a Hispanic store. read more

Absolutely love Amazon fresh. Prices are lower than grocery stores. Bought barilla pasta $1.29 a box. Other stores 2.99-3.99. Produce is so fresh. Bought strawberries sweet and delicious $1.99 yum stok $4.99 the list goes on. A must shop it's so nice having one semi close. I shopped at the store in Arlington Heights on 2 occasions this week to purchase the boneless ribeye steaks which were on sale. Since I needed several steaks to serve I was trying to find steaks close in weight for cooking. 1st impressions. Cool cart, nothing special after that. Super clean, their 'deals' were ok but not significant. Basically bigger, more expensive Aldi. Suprisingly staff was unfamiliar with their items and were little help, but very polite. FOLLOWUP. I planned on making tuna and avocados for lunch. The tuna from AF was so nasty I decided to return it. HEADS UP. After three visits to ensure my assessment held a level of validity, my assessment is that the prices at this location are on average 30% higher than the local competition. And if the lack of customers in the store is an indication, my assessment might not be unique... Additionally the selection is rather limited. From a technology standpoint, carts that can scan your purchases on the fly... Who cares in the end if you are paying far more than you should where the alternative is almost in your line of sight nearby. read more

I LOVED their "Dash Cart." Once you got the hang of it, it was really cool. First you scan the "In Store Code" which is located in your phone's Amazon Shopping app. It then knows who you are and what credit card to charge, put in a few paper bags, and then you're OFF. The cart has three scanners to see the bar code of what you're putting in. For things like produce, you indicate to the cart what you're putting in, just by starting to type the name of the item. If you're putting in bananas, usually the first one or two letters will let the cart know what you're putting in. The amazing thing is that you just drop the bananas in the cart, and it automatically weighs them and gives you the weight and cost. The cart also has a running total as you shop. If you can't find an item, there are "Alexas" in the store you can ask. She'll say something like "You'll find cookies in aisle 8" But beware, once she lied to me. The aisle she sent me to for cereal only had detergent. Maybe she has a devious sense of humor. The cart knows where you are in the store, and offers specials available in the aisle you're in. With most items the cart beeps to let you know that it recognizes what you're putting in. A couple of times it got things wrong, but the cart is very polite and you can tell it what it missed. Once i leaned against the cart and it thought i put something in without scanning it. I just told the cart, "sorry, my bad" and it was happy and we went on our merry way. The best part is that when you're finished you just go through a special aisle at the front of the store and head to the parking lot. A full receipt of your purchases is emailed to you. Since you've ALREADY placed your items in the paper bags in the cart, you just put them in your car and drive away. Now that I said all that, if you're not the least bit interested in the fancy technology, there's not a big reason to leave your current grocery store to shop here. You don't have to use the high tech 'Dash Cart," in fact most of the carts in the store are just like the ones at your current supermarket. You can then either self-checkout or use their cashier, just like your current supermarket. As I said, after going through the store a few times, I really don't see anything there that's unusual or different from other supermarkets, the prices didn't seem any lower or the selection much better. You might want to try it for yourself, but I don't the their supermarket competitors have much to worry about. read more
