In my search to find the best grocery store rotisserie chicken in the world, Meijers bird was by far the most requested left on the journey. That's not saying too much as I've consumed 95 different grocery store tissis this year, but I'm trying to be the people's champ. You gotta earn that title. I was in Chicago for the weekend, and saw there was this Meijer a 35 minute drive away. I knew what I had to do. I took an uber to the promised land, hopeful this would be some Tier 1 bird as it was so highly recommended. I pulled up and saw firetrucks out front with lights on. My internal dialogue began to run: "There's no way... I came all this way just for it to be closed because there's a fire in there?! God making me work for this one..." But then I saw people walking in and out so it was all good. I went and grabbed a $5.99 bird, took it to a business park right down the street, and dug in with my bare hands. I can't even tell you how disappointed I was in this chicken. It landed at a 7.4/10 which currently ranks it 53rd out of 96. People were riding for Meijer like it was gonna be in the 9s. I stopped going to the grocery store a long time ago because their register prices didn't match their prices on the shelf. Also, I always found dairy products out of code. I continued to shop in the outdoor garden center, but now I'm done!! You have to go into the grocery store for a cart (this is normal for years), but now they have a sign on the outside register "REGISTER IS OUT OF ORDER". SO...you have to go back into the store to check out. This happened twice and the second time, I asked the worker and she said, it's not out of order, they don't want to pay someone to be there. I"M DONE WITH YOU MEIJER. I spend a crazy amount on flowers every year and you lost my business. I'm sure you don't care, but I had to vent. read more

This place is heaven! Bigger than a Costco and filled with products that rival Target. Best part is there are several products and brands that appear to be locally sourced. Everything is so organized and spotless. I guess there's a bunch of mixed reviews for this location. Either I got lucky, or things have improved:) Either way, I'll be back! read more

Went to pick up my prescriptions today from the drive thru, after a longer wait than other pharmacies, they got my stuff together and decided to read out my meds through the LOUD intercom. Meijer is almost always great but this location misses the mark. We went late one weeknight because we realized it was open till midnight, but that turned out to be a mistake. The person who rang us up double swiped an item and we didnt notice until we were already fully checked out. when we tried to get it corrected the store couldn't do anything about it - they said the receipt wasn't in their system yet (what?) and came up with all types of excuses why they couldn't help. After I called the next day a few times the manager was able to help me but it was really a lot for just trying to have an event free nighttime grocery run. ** Kind Staff ** ** Not so Hidden Gem ** Honestly Meijer is a place I only hit up when it's Christmas time, I have no idea why. They have a massive selection of everything! Chances are if you need it they have it and at a reasonable price. Christmas time is a no brainer. When hunting for that hot toy you have to hit all the stops. Sadly I was unsuccessful this year in what I was looking for but I did leave with a handful of other gifts and what nots. I have to mention their men's department. They have a wonderful selection for men's casual dress and I'm always on the hunt for something different. I did leave with something for myself . The four stars is because it kind of reminds me of the dying days of a certain K*art. A bit messy. Their departments need to look more purposeful and inviting. Over the years, we have shopped at Meijer as our "go to" store. Meijer was the best store for us to buy 3283 Honey Crisp apples (Washington / Michigan sources). A few months ago they discontinued those apples and have switched to Chilean Bear 3283. THOSE APPLES SUCK!!! This has forced us to start shopping at other grocery stores. read more

Wow, we haven't been in a Meijer in a long time as there really aren't any close to home anymore. We passed by here and dropped in, but only after noticing it for the first time. They've only been here 4 years, lol, but in our defense, it is tucked quite far in from Golf Road. After regularly shopping in a Jewel, a Mariano's, or an Amazon Fresh, this place made quite an impression on how large and spacious it was. And clean, and shiny bright, and well stocked. Standing at customer service in a line of 3 customers, only 1 associate at customer service. No greetings, no help, and 2 cashiers at the registers doing nothing and not helping customers. It would be nice if someone guided the cashiers to help out. It's taking over 8 mins for each customer to get dealt with, this is not good at all. Finally, someone else came to help out. The young lady helped me quickly, but then left me to assist another customer. Then, the associate wouldn't finish the transaction until she fixed the box my return was in. So I waited another 3 mins for her to fold the box. Very poor customer service, and no sense of urgency. read more

As my wife says, "this place has really gone downhill since we first started going here, I don't know why we continue to do so". Trash in the parking lot. Chicken juice leaking onto other packages of chicken. Out of stock on many products. No longer an "over baked" section. Unhelpful AND unfriendly employees. Rude, dismissive, aggressive, and hostile. Prices are not competitive compared to the myriad of other grocery stores to give one's money to. Prices are wrong at the checkout and when asking the self checkout employee to help us, he's questioning us as if we are criminals or thieves. Self-checkout gets mad if huh scan too fast and makes an employee come over and check your items... Rewards program gutted from 10% to 1-3% return rate. Overall, disappointing. We used to come here monthly, now it will be every 2-3 months. read more

This isn't technically a problem of the store but the costumers are rude, unsanitary, and uncivilized. There are people picking through the salad bar, the workers won't stop you because they'll get fired if they do. A friend of mine works there and says every single day how people walk out carrying tons of medicine without paying. People put their hands through the food of the hot and salad bar. I've been a loyal customer for meijer for the last 6 years! In the last year or so service has dropped food quality and produce is really bad, expired items are always stacked. On top of that they have the rudest and meanest staff around they barely smile in your face, always with an attitude. I always walk in with a smile trying to make a change, never succeeded. I needed to have my groceries delivered. I got an email saying that it would be delivered between 5pm-6pm. I got a text at 5:15pm saying that they got a late start, and that my delivery would arrive after 6pm. This place is huge! Kind of reminds me of a giant Walmart, with grocery and clothing. There is a large selection of items at good prices. Very large private parking lot with plenty of spaces. I actually came to redeem an online coupon for a free half gallon of Hudsonville ice cream, but when I went to the self checkout scanners, the coupon wouldn't take. :( read more

Let me start off with I love Meijer. But this location is the worst. Management must just be awful at training this location. Most UPC codes on sale are wrong. And If you actually want to pay what the advertised price is be prepared for 2 managers to come over and come up with 3 different prices and 15 minutes of your life. I even take pictures of the actual item and that still makes them not believe you. Today after 12 minutes for them to come up with the right price and finally figured out I was correct. They have no value for the customers time. I have to almost restock, price, and check out by myself. They should pay me to shop there because literally no one is doing anything. read more

I've shopped at this Meijer since they opened and I've spent thousands upon thousands, upon thousands of dollars here. I understand there are some products you just can't get right now. But asparagus? Green beans? Deans milk? Melatonin? Home Run Inn pizza? Meijer is getting to be disappointing. Although it may be more expensive, I'm going to do my shopping at Jewel for a while. Another small issue I have is getting deli meats sliced thin. At Jewel they do it, why can't Meijer? One woman gave me thickly sliced salami, I said I wanted it thin. She said "this is as thin as I can get it, some pieces are already almost shredded." First, I've gotten it sliced thinly there many times, why all of a sudden can't they slice thin? Everywhere but Meijer? They need to use less room for clothes and instead, stock the shelves. read more

I've been several times at this location but customer service is terrible. Every single time. I've went today to buy potting mix. It was all dirty, with mud. I've got it all over my clothes. I've took some of the sanitized wipes to clean it up, one of the female employees was just standing there talking to her colleague. She came very rude at me to tell me that those wipes are very expensive and I am not to use those. Fair enough, but since she works, there she should've helped me and clean it up for me. Not only she didn't help me. She told me very rude to bring a bag and put it in it but she wouldn't give me one. She just shouted rudely at me and walk away. It couldn't fit in one of the shopping bags because it was way too big. I just went to Meijers and there were no social distancing, employees stacking the shelves so people were bumping into each other. This place is a hot spot. The only thing they were following CDC guidelines was the mask. The cashiers didn't clean between customers. No temperature check. Everyone was let in together. No spacing. Drove 20 miles to the nearest Meijer store - this one - to return a Christmas gift. Otherwise I would not go to a Meijer. It turned out that they would not accept an exchange for store credit because I was not there during the posted customer service hours. There's nothing on any website about any customer service hours. the manager gave me some bullshit line about how she couldn't do it because I didn't have the receipt. I pointed out that their website said I could get store credit without a receipt, as long as the tags are on. She said I still had to come back the next day during their customer service hours. I'm not doing another 20 mile drive just to return something to a Meijer. I spent several hours trying to see when/if my order would be delivered then when the order finally came, over 3 hours late, most of the items were mysteriously out of stock and I was charged for items I did not receive to the tune of $45. Meijer is a great store which has just about everything you need. Think of a giant K-Mart (the old kind, when it was still good), Target, Super Walmart, all put together in a nicer version. They have a great selection of foods you can't find elsewhere. As someone who does not eat or drink anything with milk products, I can always find a large selection of vegan cheeses, which I can't find elsewhere (even at Whole Foods). Pricing can be good, and it can be high. You need to really check and not just assume the prices are comparable to other stores. There are a lot of items I've picked up then saw it was much more expensive than elsewhere. All-in-all, I like the store. read more

I have been buying packaged deli salad items from Meijer for quite a while. (Again, I only go there due to a bus I take several times a week.)  The items are randomly stocked so one never knows what one will find. The price of the packaged items have never been higher than those sold at the deli counter because they are the same...until, yesterday.   I found that some of the "Gourmet Chicken Salad" had 40% off stickers at the regular price of $6.99 a lb. For  example, the price of a package weighing 1.15 at 40% off is $4.82. However, the price at the deli was $3.99 a lb. The price of a package weighing 1.15  at $3.99 is $4.59. I notified a manager that the packaged items were priced higher, and he told me that the packaged items were not the same. That was...baloney...and I told him so. He insisted. I insisted. Finally, he angrily told somebody to sell me the item at the correct price. Price discrepancies are not uncommon at the deli at this Meijer. There have been other times when I have been charged a higher price for items that I purchased directly at the deli counter. The computerized pricing mechanism  had not been programmed properly in those cases. You have to be vigilant if you shop there. The product was OK, but the experience was typically bad. In addition to the pricing error, I and several other customers waited for five minutes before an employee finally showed up. read more

Not bad. The food and grocery industry has definitely changed over the years. Growing up in the Chicago area we had Dominick's, Jewel, and even Eagle way back in the day. The trends today have gotten away from the HUGE grocery chains like Meijer's and going towards the smaller specialty stores. Mariano's is big, but definitely in a higher level than Meijer's. Then you have the small neighborhood stores like ALDI. With that said, Meijer is one of the biggest chains in the Midwest that is still doing fairly well. Honestly, I don't really shop at Meijer very often, but because it is so big you can usually find what you need there when you can't find it somewhere else. Recently I visited Meijer for their garden center because they have marked everything down on sale now that summer is ending. Decent sale prices if you want some end of summer plants. read more

I've always liked Meijer's a LOT. I might even call it love Downside is it's not close enough to me. They took out the smaller Des Plaines location so sometimes I make the hike to Rolling Meadows. Their deli is somewhat pricey, comparable to Walmart. The main reason for my 4**** is the variety of everything here. They have more items than Walmart or Jewel for certain categories and foods. I came specifically for wild bird food and they have a really good aisle for wild birds, rabbits, etc. They have a wide variety of bird feeders, bird houses, feed etc. I usually go to Menards but Meijer's selection is better. You can find bargains most everywhere in the store if you search. Kraft Mac & Cheese 79 cents when I went, which I'm a Kraft M&C fan for over 40 years :) so I usually have a box or 2 around. I don't buy toys anymore but when my son was little I came here because they were open 24 hours and also had a large toy selection. I definitely recommend Meijers. I came during COVID and felt comfortable walking through their large store and precautions were followed. read more

I placed an order today for 4 packs of diapers for pick up because there was a bunch of coupons making the diapers a fraction of the normal price ($28 for 4 Packs total). After placing, I got a notification on the App asking if I was okay with 2 of the items being substituted for similar products and I accepted the sub. Around 8:20pm I got a call asking if I was coming to pick up my order and I ran right over to get it and was there by 9. The pick up area is not inside in the building so I had to get back in my car and drive to it where there was no lighting. The number to text on the parking spot texted back 'this service no longer exists' so I go in the App and say that I'm here to pick up. A woman comes out just to confirm I was Ok with the sub before she brings out the diapers and I said yes and pulled my car up so I could grab them from her. 2 minutes later she comes back out and tells me that my order was cancelled and that I can wait while she brings my diapers up front and I can re-buy them for $120. I told her I paid $28 for them on the App and was confused why they were clearly right inside the door yet my order was now cancelled 30 minutes after I got a call asking when I would come get it. She handed me a $10 off coupon for my next shopping trip and went back inside. What a shit experience from start to finish that made absolutely no sense considering the diapers were right there ready for me yet my order was 'cancelled'. read more

We've been shopping at this store for years. Everyone was accommodating and willing to work with customers until today 9/19/22 (6:45pm). My husband and I went shopping for items needed. We brought our coupons. We used the self service register and Julie was the attendant at that time. While we were scanning the first item and the coupon, the register would not take the coupon, so we called her for assistance. She had a resistive attitude, rolled her eyes, and appeared not very helpful. but with her grumbling she gave the discount anyway. Then the second item we scanned, but the register would not take the coupon again. So we asked her again for assistance. And that's when she said, "I cannot keep pushing it" and told us to go to the other register. So we decided to cancel our groceries. We went to the other register and the attendant there gave us the discounts without any problem. I spoke to Derik at the customer service and report the situation. I hope he will do something about it. Any worker at this Meijer (Rolling Meadows) who displays ugly attitudes should not be working in this part of business because it defeats the good customer service. We recently discovered that there was a Meijer store near where we live. Meijer is not your typical store, like a Jewel or back in the day when we had Dominick's. Meijer is that plus a lot more, they offer a wide variety of things. From groceries to electronics. Think of it as a Target or Walmart but ten times better. They actually sell name brand items at a much lower rate. We had some last minute gifts to pick up for the holiday. This was the right place. We where able to find a really nice under the cabinet Bluetooth speaker with CD. It was priced just right not too expensive, when I priced matched it with amazon it sure was way below price. So it was quiet interesting why they priced it such low. I am not complaining either lol. the interactions with the employees there was amazing as well. They actually helped out and if they didnt know where something was they would get on the radio and ask someone else. I have been to Walmart numerous times where they respond with "If its not there, then we dont have it", so it was very nice to interact with amazing customer service employees that were very helpful. All in all I give this Meijer a super score of 5 big stars and believe me if I could give them more stars I would definitely do so. Things are routinely priced one thing on shelves but come up something else at the register. Had this happen today. Also a month or two back I was buying bowls marked for $30 bucks but rang as $70...the cashier made me feel like a thief when I mentioned the price difference.
