I really enjoy this movie theater. Plenty of parking and shopping near by. You can also take public transportation here. This theater is clean and has a lot to offer. I wish the staff was quicker at the concession stands, however, it's def worth coming here just make it early. read more

This theater has actually gotten better over the past few years. To be honest, it is not the hell hole it once was, but with that said the crowd can still be ghetto. Also, who bring a baby to a movie that starts at 11 pm on a Sunday night, makes no sense to anyone. All that I can say is for a theater in the Bronx, it is pretty reliable and somewhere I do visit but it depends on the movie. Concessions stand is usually pretty crowded but the line moves quickly. This place does not go above and beyond for its customer base especially the ones that are coming without a vehicle because I bought four tickets and I had to wait 3 hours outside in the cold snow I recommend you put a waiting area downstairs if folks need to wait downstairs before their movie. It's very selfish that we have to wait a half hour before our movie instead of giving us the experience of at least hanging tight upstairs buying something to eat while we wait. I recommend this place that's really needs a waiting area whether it's upstairs or downstairs it's the securities job to maintain order but this policy sucks read more

I have been here many times. I usually prefer to go to manhattan to go to the movies but out of convenience and free parking I go here. Being that it's near a mall I would expect the theater to be bigger and better maintained. The last time I went the volume was not very good, my seat was broken and I noticed many seats were broken. This movie theater ain't bad. My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary today and all month long lol, he wanted to start off in the Bronx, so we came here to see Transformers. Amazing movie by the way. The seats were comfortable. The theater was clean. The bathroom was decent and the check-in process was great. They scanned my phone because I brought tickets through my AMC App, and everything was good. The movie we saw had been out for some time now, so we were in a smaller room. So we didn't have so much of a large crowd watching the movie with us. I think that may have helped with not so much noise. When we were leaving the theater started to get packed, so glad we came early. I would definitely suggest most people do this especially on a Saturday. Overall I would give this theatre a go! Every time I go to the movies she knows I have problems to get the tickets in the machine and she always helps me!! This is the worst AMC, and I have been a member for many years and have gone to many all over NY & NJ. They need to have some employees or security inside each theater to shut people up because everyone is always talking throughout the movies here like they are animals! Actually worse than animals. My dog can watch a movie quieter than the people that come here. I have never had this problem at any other AMC. The only reason I come here is because my mom & sister want to go to a location that's close to our house. But tonight was the last straw, and I will never come here again! They told us we had to stop singing while watching Hamilton even though Lin Manuel Miranda literally said at the beginning of the movie that we could sing matter a fact they all said sing and have fun. BP AMC isn't all that bad. They've upgraded the seating and it was moderately clean when I visited to see Woman King. The popcorn area is a hot mess as it is almost anywhere else. But like I said it's not bad, just not phenomenal. Just a regular degular theater from The Bronx. read more

This AMC Cinema is not bad but it is definitely not my favorite. I would only come here if the one at 84th Street is full, or if they are not showing the movie I want to watch. The Bay Plaza location is mostly crowded all the time. I find the crew to be simple, they do what they have to do but don't go out of their way for the customers, they are not as friendly as the crew at 84th and it's maybe because not all of the customers that come here are as friendly or polite as they should, so the crew itself has to limit their approach, my guess. I personally had a bad encounter had a bad encounter on Saturday night. I had bought 7 tickets to go see The Grinch. We bought them in advance because I knew this movie was going to be very popular among families. When we got to the movies, on our peaceful pace, we found out that the cinema made a mistake and oversold the movie so we didn't have any seats for our 7 people party**. We had no place to sit, so had to go to the lobby and ask what was going on. The manager explained the movie was going to be General Admission, EVEN THOUGH SEATS ARE ALWAYS ASSIGNED AS YOU BUY THEM. And since they were no more seats available she gave us tickets for the movie at 9:15. Our movie was originally at 6:30, so due to this movie being a General Admission without notice and our first tickets were useless, we had to sit on the floor outside of Theater One (1) from 6:40pm to 9:15pm, for more than 2 hours so that we could get our seats together. Just because the cinema made a simple freaking mistake. It was honestly the most unpleasant experience I have had at a AMC Cinema. read more

It's your typical amc theater. Full of teenagers working there. The concession stand will always be super crowded right before a movie but it was empty when my movie ended. My beef with them right now.... I'm happy they changed out the chairs because a lot of the recliners weren't working. But why are they made so narrow now AND they barely recline anymore. I could barely fit my body and my backpack in the seat next to me and it's a thin bag and I am by no means heavy. I ended up putting my bag next to my daughter in her seat. read more

This is a busy location! The staff throughout the space were very friendly and helpful in helping me navigate the space, as the escalators are behind the main lobby area. This is an obviously old space with a little update, but it is still the original structure, which is not traditional. I was able to go straight to the front of the A-List line and purchase concessions. Though the popcorn was not the best and the facilities were in shambles, there have been far worse theaters. I'll come back when I'm in the area. Note: The theater is technically on the back of the mall, closer to the medical center and Dallas Bbq's entrance. read more

This theater is my go to if I'm in the Bronx. The seats reclined back and they are pretty comfy. The theater overall has a good screened and sounds. The theater is clean. Food is pretty pricey but their flavor popcorn is soo darn good. I never had a problem with their employees. For the food line make sure if you're A list to go in the premiere line so you don't have to wait on the Long lines. The drinks is self serve so that's pretty cool. It's very convenient to come here as you can also spend sometime shopping since there are shops near by. I'm happy this AMC is here as it has free parking available. My tip would be if you're planning on coming here book your tickets online and avoid the long lines. I like coming here on the weekends really early. read more

This theater isn't bad. The main thing that can be annoying is the teenagers that come in groups and move hop into theaters. It's one thing if they did it quietly but they come into quiet theaters talking, laughing and making loud sounds when ppl are quietly trying enjoy their movie. Security would be standing at the back of the theater witnessing kids doing these things and not doing anything about it which can be really annoying and now that the summer is here it's gonna be happening all summer. This AMC location is just ok. We decided to make the drive here because 86th St was not showing Deadpool 2 anymore and this was the closest theater with recliner seats and reserved seating. Theres lots of parking since its in Bay Plaza. When we got there the line to buy tickets was super long, thankfully we had gotten tickets through Fandango earlier. Lines for the concession stand were shorter but the menu has limited options - no fried food but there's pizza. All the counters were dirty and there was trash all over the floor/stairs. The auditorium was smaller than most but I liked it because it meant less people. Overall it's def. one of the dirtiest AMCs I've ever been to, I'd say the only advantage is the reserved seating and the amount of showings given its size. read more

This movie theater is OK. The lines for the food is always long and there is never anyone at the customer service booth. I went here to see DUMBO and the movie cut off toward the end because of an alarm. People rushed out of the theater and there was no staff around to give direction or help. After about 15 minutes, they turned on the movie again for the people who remained. On that same day, my recliner seat was BROKEN and I specifically come to this theater for that feature. read more

This is your place. I'd rather lick the floor of an emergency room than even watch a TikTok in this theatre. The employees suck, weren't helpful, or didn't even know what's going on. The manager must be the 3rd cousin of Mr.Amc because nepotism is surely the only way he got his position because he also sucks at his job. Will do everything but get on his knees and beg for you to take gift-cards to other terrible AMC theater expectations than process a refund even though you told him 4 times directly for a refund. Once you pay all that money for your tickets to see a long anticipated movie, you are immediately greeted with a male ticket collector with a bad attitude and his pants hanging down. Then, upon buying your popcorn and soda you will encounter a rude wig wearing obnoxiously condescending manager who has zero people skills. The bathrooms and theaters are nice and you will have a decent experience if you can avoid interacting with the staff. I had to wait for someone to show up at the customer service desk for about 5 minutes to change my seat, because the leather on the seat was all ripped up. They should've just marked this seat as unavailable until they repair it. Half of my bag of popcorn was kernels. I love popcorn and got a medium which was really a small bag, so that was sort of upsetting. But the movie was good and the 3D was awesome. Two machines were for cards and 1 for cash. We had vochers from the school. There were 2 guys working the first had no ideal how to work it, the 2nd guy scanned our vochers 3 times, each time it said I had to pay 8 dollars because it was a 3D movie. My card kept saying not enough funds because every time he did it wrong it said a fraud alert to my bank. I really strive to support my community and its business establishments rather than going to the next county. I keep giving this place a fare chance up until today. Why do I even have to pay to get a bad movie experience??? This place is dirtier than last time...carpet actually smells. The bathrooms are in need a professional repair, not some handymen special. The concession stand....AWFUL! Please hire people that actually care about making at least the minimum wage. The line was super long and to make it worst the attendants behind the counter have 0, and meant 0 sense to of urgency....if they know a movie is about to start, why can't all the little mangers come and roll up their sleeves and help out??? No, instead they walk around as if they can't step down their high horse. Management had to really step up their game and corporate should do more visits...we might end up loosing this theatre and its "hard working" employees might end up with out a job. I've been here a few times, it's the most comfortable theater in the Bronx. it's got the new self serve automated soda dispensers, touch screen adjustable reclining soft plush seats, and all the latest releases. The only problem is the service. You will wait on line forever for popcorn, everyone is slow and inexperienced, they don't restock as they are working so you need to wait for them to go to the back to get what ppl order, which wastes so much time per customer, and the bathroom has the same problem! They run out of soap and toilet paper and no one restocks it! The floors and theater get so dirty because no one is cleaning them after each showing. Its so frustrating.
