We enjoyed Mutiny while we were getting away from the hot beach one of my favorite actors didn't disappoint!

Elton John once sang "the boulevard is not that bad." Was he singing about an AMC theater in Miramar? No, probably Hollywood. But years later, and a couple thousand miles away (but still tangentially related to Hollywood) dear Yelper, this Boulevard is that bad. While vacationing in the fabled 30A region of the "Free State" of Florida, the family waned to see the new Superman film. Unlike my home state of California, there were very few choices of theater chains in this region. We should select between AMC and ... um ... AMC. AMC is it. In this case, Miramar. Not "Top Gun" Miramar. Just Florida Miramar. So we pile into the van and head to town. Once inside, we decided to load up on the prerequisite snacks and drinks. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and the snacks, drinks and food menu looked like it had been ransacked after a zombie apocalypse. They were out of many theater mainstays like hot pretzels. When asked if they had licorice, the helpful staff pointed to a display stand and resigned with "all we have is on that cart." We make the best of the limited selection and head into the auditorium. Unlike seemingly the rest of the world now, it's old-school pick your own seat in there. This was okay, since it was a mid-week matinee, but this was the first time since about 2014 I was not able to pre-select my location. The screen was nice. Good projection and sound. By far, the one decent amenity of the day. Our seats themselves were awful. The actual chairs have big "Spirit Airlines, last to board, enjoy the middle" energy. Okay, that's not fair. Spirit is not as uncomfortable as this. After a couple hours of Superman, I felt like I needed to summon Krypton to drag my bent form out of the chairs. Once the showtime hits, congratulations on 30 minutes of ads, capped off by Nicole Kidman urging you once again to go to the very place you already happen to be. Still reading? Thank you. I give AMC a shot about once a year. Each time, hoping they have done something to improve the experience. Yet each time, they manage to do a slightly worse job at being a theater. Modern cinema is now 100 years old. Yet AMC's innovation seems to be "how can we charge more by making people feel terrible, while convincing reddit kids to pump our stock?" So, yeah, Two stars. Once for screen, once for the staff who were actually super friendly despite having very little to sell. read more

We bought tickets ahead of time for Spider-Man. No hours on the door or website but said 8:00am for showtime. We tried to open the doors before 8:00am, not realizing they don't open until that time. No biggie. We walk into the theatre (tickets already purchased) so we start to walk to our theatre. The only girl working the concession stand, snaps at us, we need to get into the concession line to get a ticket. Again, fine but there should be signs stating any of this. For being Destin, the bathrooms are ROUGH, the staff is rude (other than one very sweet gentleman we got lucky to have), we didn't even end up getting snacks/drinks because of the cleanliness and attitude from the first girl. Seats were comfy at least! Crazy to say but Pensacola holds everything to a higher standard than this location. read more

I have come to this theater since it opened. After Covid the theater finally opened Ed and was not run very well. BUT THINGS HAVE GREATLY IMPROVED!(service, cleanliness, etc) Roger H is the new General Manager and he is making a difference. He helped me out tonight by exchanging my tickets that I intended to buy for tomorrow but purchased for tonight by mistake. He made it so easy and did it with a smile! Thanks Roger! Went here on a rainy day. Theatre was okay. A little outdated with no electric heated seats. It had rained a lot the day before and there were two spots where the roof was leaking. Popcorn was good! read more

i'm not the type to write bad reviews at all, but this person am particular that is at the front when you buy a movie ticket was incredibly rude. I don't know his name, but he had a beard, was short and was a redhead, he treated me and my friends horribly therefore he doesn't make a good look at this movie theater, i am a local, due to him being incredibly rude to me didn't sit right with me because i come here all the time just to have a good time. i hope something gets done about this. read more

Eh. I'm in town on business and I was dining at Emeril's next door and saw this theater - I'm an AMC A-List member so I can go for "free" 3x per week (I pay $19.99/mo for that). I recently saw the new Ant-Man movie but fell asleep, so I decided to come here and watch the parts I missed, after dinner. It's $10.49 for a night movie generally and the screen is kinda crappy. I was in theater #10, which is also a dine-in theater, so there are tables where you can eat; however, the chairs are not recliner chairs - more like rocking chairs (they go back slightly). I used the bathroom and it was relatively clean. I'd be curious to try the "Big D theater" to see how it measures up to the Dolby theater near me (I'm in the Metro Detroit area, and Dolby is how I originally saw Ant-Man, which had a great screen and sound). Overall I'd probably choose another theater if I lived here, unless you live super close to this one. read more

I was absolutely floored by how well this movie theater is ran by management and employees!! We are visiting and to be honest we were running g a little behind(NOT my wife's fault) so I called ahead just to make sure we weren't going to be late. The GM picked up the phone and I believe his name was Roger and to say he went above and beyond is definitely an understatement. Roger not only helped me before we got there, but went completely out of his way just to make sure our kids had an amazing time. The other gentleman that helped me was CJ(maybe TJ, sorry I'm terrible with names) but he greeted us with a smile and helped us understand the promotions out there for us to take advantage of. People listen!! If you are in town and have a "chill day" or "rainy day", then I HIGHLY recommend coming to this theatre bc you will not regret your decision. The pizza is great, the staff is amazing, and you will leave feeling like you are appreciated! Thanks again!! read more

This was a decent place to see a movie. The theater is dated and the concession area is a bit disorganized and dark, but the employees were very nice. The theater we were in was very large, but again pretty dated. Mostly clean, but some popcorn behind the seats. While the workers should clean it, the idiots that leave their garbage behind should really not be so lazy. It was fine - not the leather lounge chair experience, but just fine for a rainy day. read more

I love having a movie theatre in SanDestin. That being said, this needs some major upgrades to be in keeping with what people expect now at a theatre. Reclining seats would be awesome. Self serve butter and soft drinks? Anyway. I still go because it's convenient! read more

The lady taking our order and getting our popcorn rolled her eyes when we told her our party of 4 were together, as she wanted some of us to go to the next register to be taken care of. We haven't been to a regular theater for quite some time. We usually go to the dine in type of theaters since we live in Texas and we have quite a few of those in the DFW area. We live really close to this AMC and there was a movie we wanted to see while we were in town. So we booked tickets pretty easily online with AMC and we showed up for our movie. We did the big D and it was a very large stadium type movie theater. The sound quality was good. For a late night movie, I found that the facility was pretty clean. My son had popcorn and I'm not sure if he thought it was amazing but he ate most of it so I would give that thumbs up. We would definitely go to a movie in the theater again. It was convenient to us and there wasn't anything that was just horrific to say we shouldn't ever go to this movie theater again. It was a decent experience! read more

Just being honest, haven't been to a movie theater in a few months and this place has been a huge letdown. One positive is that the customer service was pretty good. The popcorn is ice cold. We get into the theater about 25 mins early (theater was already cleaned) and there's a full trash can right to the right of us. Assumed it was the people cleaning it and forgot it, so I went and let the kid know and he came into the theater immediately. Once I pointed it out, he says "oh that's for the leak." He then follows up with "almost all of our theaters have a leak in them." I told him ok thanks. Not coming back to this theater. You would expect this theater to be nice considering the location. And the fantasy flick, Jungle Cruise, didn't disappoint. Watching it at AMC was my "beat the heat" indoor activity with a heat advisory of peak heat index values of 110 to 115 degrees today. The theater is comfortably located at Grand Isle near the best shops and great restaurants like Emeril's Coastal - a hot spot by Emeril Lagasse serving Gulf-caught seafood in a chic space with an open kitchen & patio. The theater was squeaky clean, and there were only about 20 people in a theater at 1:15 p.m. with seating for about 300, The screen is ginormous! Parking was easy too. And Jungle Cruise helped me escape. - Best lines from Jungle Cruise: Where were we? -Frank About to die. -Passenger Who brings a submarine to the Amazon? -Frank I had a girlfriend once. She was cross-eyed. It didn't work out. We could never see eye-to-eye. -Frank Before this job I worked in an orange juice factory. Got canned. Couldn't concentrate. They put the squeeze on me too. -Frank If you look to the left you'll see toucans playing their favorite game of beak wrestling. So I went and got my drink that i also purchased online they didn't even verify it just asked for my name and asked what size cup I ordered. It just wasn't a well put establishment. It's a wonder how theaters are able to keep their doors open. This place is smarmy. Dirty floors, dirty lobby, cobwebs in their "big D" waiting area. Just felt gross, even for sticky floor theaters. We saw a movie here on a cold, rainy, early January day; we went here over Destin as it was closer to our beach rental. The theater was colder than it was outside; we all left with sore throats and sniffly noses- it was reminiscent of attending a football game only we weren't prepared for the cold! Went to see a movie while on vacation here. One person at the counter had a flat affect & didn't even greet us. Another person was very helpful & accommodating. The theater has carpet & you can tell it needs updating because it had a stinky wet smell to it. The bathrooms were gross, dusty & unclean. The theater was ok, but the volume on the movie was very low. Usually movie theaters have the sound blaring. The sound of freedom was great. I will never go back to this movie theater. It appears that AMC isn't investing in their theaters as since many people don't go to movies like they used to. read more

The worse movie experience in a very long time. The theater's location is in a nice area, and I thought the theater would be equally as nice. Upon entering the building for a 6 PM show, there were (2) concession attendants, and I saw no one else, not even other moviegoers. We ordered popcorn and water. The popcorn had been sitting under the heat lamp for some time; the butter had soaked into the kernels and made it nasty. As we walked into the theater area, a ticket attendant was hitting on someone. We were ignored when I asked if he needed to take our tickets. We ordered our tickets through the AMC app only to discover a hefty $4 service fee and zero option to preselect your seat. Our movie was in theater 7 - so everything from this point forward is specific to theater 7. There are many seats, and they are pretty tight side to side and front to back. The chair backs recline slightly, but these are not recliners you find in almost every other major theatre. The seats were very uncomfortable, and no matter how many times I changed positions, there was no getting comfortable. The movie was 2 hours- 2-1/2 by the time they ran their promos and commercials. I was pretty sore exiting the theater that night. I will not go back to this theater anytime soon. read more

Clean bathrooms and movie seats. The floors were sticky in a few places. Probably because someone spilled a soda. The snacks were adequate. Nothing to write home about. Like all movie theaters the prices are insane. That's nothing against them. It's just how it is these days. I think one of these days movie theaters will be a thing of the past. Because every movie is available to stream on the various streaming services. The only difference is the size of the screen and the audio equipment. So pretty much action movies are the only ones that are worth seeing in the theater. read more

This establishment once upon a time was THE place to watch a movie! Sadly upon entering the lobby today the lights were out and huge buckets were sat around the lobby. The HEAT was very noticeable. Prior to purchasing out tickets I asked if the air conditioning was out and was told "just in the lobby, the theater air works". I purchased our tickets and 3 minutes Into the previews I knew it was a mistake. I was sweating and it was HOT. I know we are facing associate shortages but as I understand the air has been out longer than a month. Also the movie that just came out doesn't fit the screen of the theater that we are in. I am so disappointed and will just travel over to Panama city and go to Pier Park from now on to watch a movie. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

The whole movie theater was trashed, popcorn and spilled drinks everywhere from the lobby to the theater it's self. 10 employees sitting around talking with no one but us to help. We are local to this theater and this is our favorite theatre. We went to a 1:00 showing of Batman today and I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the facility especially for that time of day and likely less than 30 people in the entire place. The carpets looked like they had not been cleaned from the night before, the bathrooms had not been restocked with tp and the trash was overflowing with paper towel. In addition... there was no on walking through the theatre periodically to monitor the behavior of patrons. This is Spring Break in our area and the teenagers that were 'watching' the moving with us were clueless to manners. It may not have helped but would have been a nice deterrent if an attendant had walked through on occasion. Disappointed that this usually high standard theater in a premium shopping district seems to be going down hill. read more

This location is filthy top to bottom. Lobby area has food all over the floor and ceilings are leaking. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, men's room sinks filled with used paper toweks, a dirty plunger was in the middle of the room and a toilet brush was shoved under the sink area as well as overflowing trash recepticals. The theater itself stunk horribly and the floors were also covered in food and trash. read more
