Hey fellow Yelpers! I've been to this AMC theater a few times and it's always great time. Me and my boyfriend recently went on a movie date to see Karate Kid: Legends. The theater is a decent size especially considering it's in the Chicago Ridge Mall, they even had a bar in the theater which is a nice touch, concessions, and even had a lot of mini claw machines. It was really cool that AMC even had merch of their own and even from various movies as well. Movie Experience: The movie was showing in screen/theater 2 and the layout of the theater was nice. The movie in my opinion was really good and they even had a post-credit scene with both Daniel LaRusso & Johnny Lawrence. I do agree with some of the other reviews that the theater walls at least in screen/theater 2 are thin as I was hearing muffled audio from the theater next door. I'm wondering how this can be resolved. Maybe sound proofing each theater to truly get the full movie theater experience? Just my thoughts on this. Claw Machines: The claw machines are $1 per play. The claw machines don't accept bills or card, so you have to go to this machine that gives you tokens. My boyfriend spent $5 in tokens and unfortunately I didn't win anything even though some of the prizes looked gettable. Overall Experience: Overall, I had great experiences at the AMC theater in the Chicago Ridge mall. The theater was clean, easy to navigate, & the bathrooms were clean. Definitely need to go back soon and hopefully I can win me some cute plushies from their mini claw machines. Stopped by to catch Sinners as a matinee on the big screen. Fresh popcorn. clean soda area, comfortable seating and clean theater. This is a smaller theater so you could at times hear the movie next door and the lobby noise, but it wasn't too bad. I would go back if in the area. read more

This is the closest theatre to me but I'm going to try to go further to another one. I waited in line for 15 minutes in the a-list/premiere line for concessions and they just kept taking care of the people in the other line. The other register had freed up but some lady had just walked up and then the rest of her family came so she took forever to do her order. It was finally my turn and they just took someone who just got in line before me in the other line. I left because my movie had started. Very disappointed. Other theatres know to take the next a-list/premiere line faster. I'm only one person. I'd be faster because I knew exactly what I wanted. I only wanted a drink and popcorn. Super fast to fill. We were just there to see Wicked and had the most horrible experience. I'm in a wheelchair and they allowed regular unhandicapped persons to buy tickets for the handicapped seats. We've never encountered this and there was no way to make it down the stairs to our row. I mean WTF! They are by law supposed to leave seats open for those accompanying the person. Went with friends to see Oppenheimer. Screen was tiny like what you would have at home if you bought a home projector. The colors were very flat as if they increased the brightness way up and it lacked contrast. The black colors were washed out so I know they used outdated tech projector. I couldn't stand it so I walked out of the theater and mentioned to the employee that this image is not right. She called the manager to go look at the screen. She also told me to wait by the bar. I saw the manager finish what he was doing and then go into the theater room. Then he went into his office. After waiting, I went back to the employee to ask if I should continue to keep waiting and she told me the issue has beed fixed. I went back to watch the movie and saw nothing changed so I kept watching even though it was very distracting because what else could I do? After the movie, I went to speak to a different employe and both the assistant manager and Manager Paul. They were patient to hear me out but told me that because I sat through the movie, they couldn't do anything for me and that all their projectors are good and the screen size is the standard screen size in all AMC theaters. There is no way this is true. I had AMC A List and have been to many AMC theaters. This screen was unreal. Tiny and horrible color quality. I asken the manager if he could provide the size of screen and which projector they used. Manager declined to provide this information. I never complained about a movie at a movie theater in my life but this theater is something else and the prices are the same as around downtown. Avoid this outdated movie experience. read more

Overall the screen is smaller then the one in Crestwood. Probably because the theater room in Chicago Ridge was built longer vs wider. But, the theater was clean and we didn't have any problems. read more

I have been to several AMC since the reopening and this one is always disgustingly filthy. I went there on 4/24/2022 and when we walked into our theater there was garbage all over the floors and in the cup holders. Clearly it was not cleaned from the prior show. Our family all used the restroom prior to seeing our movie and there was no toilet paper in any of the stalls, pee on the seats and you can tell it wasn't cleaned at all. Save your money and go to another brand not far down the road. Your sure to have a much better experience than the AMC at chicago Ridge Mall. read more

Well, I am an AMC fan since they have rehauled all of their venues with Dolby cinemas, recline and pick your own seating, bar service. This venue is located within Chicago Ridge Mall. The parking is limited and difficult as it shares the mall lot. They offer the automated machines if you want to grab your tix you purchased online. (which is quicker than waiting in the line). The theatre area and cinemas are always clean. read more

Everything including the app and AMC Stubs. I purchased tickets last week June 22nd to see Bad Boys: Ride or Die for my family. Unfortunately I had to refund those 3 tickets ($49)immediately due to an emergency. It befuddles me to know that as quickly as the money has been transferred to the merchant, why does it take so long for a refund. Today is June 29 and I have yet to receive the refund that I requested a week ago. And as for the app, I'm assuming the $6.77 was for a convenience fee. I will now be getting rid of my AMC app and account along with my AMC stubs account and going with Fandango app. The convenience is OK but policies are not OK. To whom ever reads this, this is what you will experience if you go through AMC Theatre's or Stubs. Very confusing. read more

Been awhile since I last saw a movie. Hot damn.....movies are expensive. $15.xx a ticket......whoo! The girl said the 1st show is the only cheap price. I think it's $7.29. We were in theater 4 and it was smaller than a normal theater room, but I love the recliner style seats. Roomy and not cramped. I like it! Bathroom only has 2 stalls so if it was a bit more busy....I can see the wait being a bit. I'm sure the concession is overpriced. Also, they serve alcohol. read more

This movie theater is very small and awkwardly shaped. There are about 5 or 6 rooms. The have modern seating with reclining chairs, but they are not heated. There is a small bar, and from my experience the drinks are watered down, so I don't recommend getting drinks here. I haven't experienced anything negative here. read more

Went to see Girls Trip on Sunday...wow no one told me that the theater would be a trip. The staff were friendly, concession stand went fine, bathroom was even clean. However everything went downhill when me & my fam went inside theater #8. I thought at first my sight was deceiving me, but it wasn't. The seats were severely worn out. I mean they were the worse I have ever seen at a theater charging full price for movies. I'm not sure if every theater is this way but this one was insane. They must have used a cheap vendor for these seats. Maybe related to the president of AMC. They need to reimburse everyone for dealing with these horrible conditions. I will not be a patron of this theater again until they remodel. read more

Updating my review: we came here tonight to see the Marry Me movie. I can appreciate having our vaccination cards and ID checked, and they were understaffed. I guess it's partly my fault for not allowing myself enough time as I am so used to being treated like VIP where I'm able to cut the line. I was having a moment where I'm like I paid for the A-List membership so that I don't have to wait, and the concession stand also didn't have my order because it didn't print out for some reason. But they were quick and took my word for it which I can appreciate. They also refilled our popcorn without scanning my stubs card, and I think that with this location -- it's best to allow yourself extra time than normal otherwise you'll be disappointed for not having the priority access. It was a movie showing for 7:30 p.m. I figured it was prime time for movie watching, but I get it the times are different now, they're running a skeleton crew, and I should be thankful people showed up to work. I think they're just doing their best, and hopefully things get better -- I'll have to come back when COVID becomes an endemic and see if the service is still subpar. read more

I don't know how I missed the major refurbishment done here well over a year ago. I stopped coming to this AMC a couple years ago due to the non-stadium seating, sticky floors, and rude employees. All of that has changed and I was truly impressed. First at the register the smiling nice lady asked where in the theater we wanted to sit and there was a digital screen right there showing where all our options were. A truly helpful employee and great ticketing / seat reservation system. The employees at the concession stand and the full alcohol bar were all also very nice and smiled. For me these employees now beat out Hodgkins and Yorktown. Great job. The seating is fantastic. Large vinyl (fake leather) recliners that even fit a big guy like me at 6'4" and not the skinny type. I had plenty of room and sat exactly where I wanted to. The restrooms were also impressive. Large open areas and at the sinks the choice of either a Dyson Air Blade or traditional paper towels. I like options. New looking carpeting and tables and chairs through out the lobby area provide for a very relaxing experience both before and after your movie. I will surely be returning here and I'm sorry I've kept going to dirty and grumpy AMC Hodgkins for the last couple years. read more

The drinks come with paper straws that ruin the whole movie experience. Also the seating is flat and not on a angle. We spent $50 for tickets and $40 for drinks and snacks and the straws crumbled while drinking. Worst experience ever. read more

my experience was subpar. i came to watch "a quite place" but the experience was ruined by rampage playing in the theater next door and we could hear that entire movie. A quite place was meant to be watched in a theater atmosphere but you're not suppose to have rampage playing in the background. also don't know the rules about this but there was a baby in the theater who would let out a cry every 20-30 minutes. that was annoying as well read more

The theater is small. But it does what theaters do, and that's good enough for me. Service is good. The place is clean. It wasn't too crowded or rowdy. We went for a 7 PM/Saturday showing. Seats were comfortable. They also have a nice little bar, which I didn't go to but was a nice surprise. The only downside is the set up of the screening rooms themselves. The seats aren't very angled, so if you sit in the back, you can easily have your view obstructed by the person in front of you. Also, they sound quality isn't as good as other theaters. But overall, a solid experience. read more

Not coming back here again. We only chose this place because everywhere else was sold out. We definitely made the mistake of coming here the day after Christmas. First of all, when we looked on AMC online, it said that Tuesdays had $5 movies. We got there for a noon movie and it was FULL PRICED. FULL PRICED FOR A NOON MOVIE. There wasn't even a matinee option or discount. All the seats inside were basically the same level, so whenever the tweenagers that sat in front if us stood up, the entire screen was blocked. These girls were throwing popcorn at each other, yelling at each other, and standing up constantly. They stopped when I finally yelled at them. This theatre was so dirty. Staff is rude. The staff at the concessions were only speaking with each other so my best friends food took longer than necessary. We didn't bother to go to guest services because I never want to come back here ever again. read more

So, they modeled this theatre probably a year ago, give or take. I've been meaning to check it out, and I wish I would have done this much sooner. It is so nice, clean, and spacious inside the lobby area. I can't speak to any of the food options, I only got a water ($4.50!). I bought my ticket on Fandango before I went. You get to pick your seat - everything is reserved seating, like at a concert. By doing this before I went, I got the seat I wanted and avoided the ticket line. Recliners! Recliners! Recliners!!! That is what you are sitting in. So comfortable. I would pay a premium to go to this theather, but tickets were only $6.25 for an early show. Can't wait to go back - - awesome!!!!! read more

I have only been going here for under a year now. By the dates of the bad reviews it must have been remodeled recently. I avoid this place at night, but that's because I avoid any place that admits children after dark. I figure I have better chances with them during the morning for some reason. The staff is always friendly. I think the prices are reasonable (except for the soda). Ouch! Who cares about that though. The real reason I come here is because I can stretch out in the reclining seats and think about napping instead of watching the movie. I am constantly telling everyone I know that they need to come by my house if we are going to a movie. This may be the only place I will ever see a movie again. read more

The new renovations have made this place my new favorite movie complex! The big red leather recliners are really comfortable and an added incentive is that you get a lot more personal space and legroom, due to the size of the recliners. They now sell beer at the concession stand as well as hot food items other than just popcorn and hotdogs. They also have a few of those new self serve soda machines with the digital interface. The audience around me is usually the more important factor in choosing a theater to watch a movie, the audience here was not obnoxious or annoying. Hmm... Where to start? Well, I guess I should start out by saying that this is hands down, the nicest cinema around! I would've given it 5-stars, if only it were bigger. Having only 6 screens, I'm always bummed if they don't have the movie I want to see (but more often than not, they do). Other than that, it's great! In the evening they open MacGuffins, a full-service bar serving beer, wine, & mixed drinks. They also offer military discounts for showings after 4pm. The concession stand offers your standard over priced movie theater goodies. They also have one of those self-serve soda machines with like a zillion different flavor combinations. My favorite part of this cinema is the seating. The "leather" recliners are awesome! I sometimes find it hard not to fall asleep ;). This also offers you extra space. No need to worry making room for people to walk by. read more

These newly remodeled theaters give you all the comforts of home plus the big-screen experience...and if you hit the pre-noon showings, you can do this on $5. They've installed leather (or leather-like) recliners and expanded the legroom between rows so you can stretch out and enjoy the show. Many seats have flip-up armrests, perfect for date night. The concession area offers tons of choices, and it includes a bar, so you can enjoy a beer with your movie. The bathrooms are clean, although there are no paper towels and only one hand dryer. What's not to like? Well, if you bought tickets for a movie running in the "wrong" auditorium, there is no soundproofing between theaters. This is only a problem in some of the theaters....when we went to see "Skyfall," we could hear every line of dialogue from the film playing in the adjoining theater, whenever there was a lull in the action. It was distracting. We did not have this problem when we went to see other movies, so I guess the acoustics are just sloppy for part of this venue. I don't know what can be done about the sound-proofing now, but this seems to be a huge oversight. It's like having obnoxiously loud fellow patrons embedded in the whole audience. But don't let that stop you from going. You might not draw the short straw with your theater choice, and you'll appreciate the whole experience. read more

I don't know how many times I've been to this theater in particular to catch a movie with friends, running into people I know or even bringing most of my first dates here. Now that they have a bar, me and my friends definitely come here a bit earlier to grab a few drinks before the show. I love the seating, it's well maintained,clean and cozy which really helps our movie going experience. Would be 5 stars but everything is at ludicrously high prices from the food, drinks and ticket prices. read more

So I've heard about the recliner seats at this theater and since moving to the area I thought I'd check it out. The seats are pretty great, however, it is very different from most theaters I have been too. For example, you get to reserve where you sit. I'm not sure how I feel about this. It makes it hard to go to the movie last minute because all the good seats are picked over. I enjoy just going to the movie when I feel like it without needing to reserve anything. This seems too much like going to live theater. I'm also not crazy about the prices. They charge like 3 dollars more than average for tickets just because of the recliner seats. Movie prices are outrageous enough without having to pay that much more just to see a movie. Personally, I don't think its worth it. Unless the picture is better quality (which it is not here), I can't justify paying so much more. Although I have never been to the bar in the theater I'm sure their prices are crazy expensive. I've never seen anyone at the bar so I'm not sure how their drinks taste or how efficient their staff are. However, it looks really nice and clean. Kind of an upscale bar in the middle of the theater in the middle of Chicago Ridge Mall. I'll probably be back at some point, but I'll stick with Crestwood. read more

The comfortable leather recliners are what keep me coming back to this theater! It's also very clean, no sticky floors. Just like any movie theater, the food/snacks are extremely overpriced. I always bring a big handbag and sneak my dollar store snacks inside! Shh! Overall, I'm impressed. Definitely more upscale than your typical mall theater. There's even an open bar. read more

I have been to this theater about 2 times already for pretty good movies. This review is about my Jurassic World experience. AMC Theaters has the good and bad theaters to go to. This is one of the great spots. It's right inside the Chicago Ridge Mall. It's a great location for shoppers and families! You can find the sign nearby the food court a minute away from the carousel. I'm happy that there is movie theater at the mall. The service is good. The staff are pretty nice to the customers. I just noticed there was a guest service desk in the movie theater. The movie theater itself has eight separate theaters. I'm impressed by the seating at this movie theater! They might be just regular recliners, but it's different than your average experience at a movie theater. The food is okay. The popcorn and ICEE are there when you're hungry! The popcorn and ICEE were pretty good. The popcorn had good flavor, but the butter is really good. The ICEE is okay, and it's great for your kiddos! All in all, great movie theater, pretty good service, and okay food. I'll be back here soon! read more
