Greatest movie theater place I've ever been to. They are the only one in the market that has reclinable seats that are electronically controlled. The theater is very clean, relaxing, and spacious. Also you do not have to make lines to watch movie as they go with reservation system. When you buy your tickets you get to pick where you would like to sit and it improves the service experience. My favorite theater. Reclining comfy seats that you have to reserve when you order the tickets means no more going to movies way before the start time to wait in line in order to get good seats. On the negative side, you have to reserve your seat which means you should plan ahead and be on the site right when reservations open up for the weekend so you can get decent seats. So the reserved seating is great and thats why I liked this place. HOWEVER, recently went and theatre no. 3, the one showing our movie, so happened to be right across from the concession stand. Little did we know this would be a problem during the movie. You could literally hear the chatter. Not only was it loud but also very distracting. Not cool. Been coming here lately to watch Movies. IMAX on Tuesday is 10$ per stub member which is a great. Sound and quality is definitely way better than shorting yourself 5$ to watch it in digital. Snacks/Drinks are 500% markup like every other movie center. Stub members get free large popcorn refills. read more

My wife and I recently joined A-List and wanted to take family to a movie. We each purchased a ticket through app, bought a ticket through app, and had 4 "Gold passes" for remaining tickets. We were told that the Gold Passes were frozen and could not be used, necessitating us paying additional $76 for tickets. A "manager" came out to "assist", yet did nothing to help solve problem. (As in help provide 4 seats for 4 passes) He was also rude. As a result,we cancelled the 2 A list reservations and the other ticket we had paid for and refuse to use this theater again. read more

My girlfriend and I have the amc A list membership, so we come to the movies often. It is pretty decent given that amc only have 2 locations in queens. Some days, like Tuesdays, you get pretty much all sorts of people that can be a bit rowdy and noisy so I suggest pick another day to come watch the movies. I know it's usually $5 on Tuesday, but it defeats the purpose if you can't enjoy the movies when there are noisy and annoying people. Overall, decent movie theater. read more

I hadn't been to this theater since the 90s. Needless to say things have changed. Pros: What's drawing people here? The cushy, comfy seats and the assigned seating arrangements. It makes for a more pleasant experience when you know you have preselected your seat and you don't have to fight for it. A special line is available for those who have a special members Card. They are called first for the concession line. The lines were moving and the staff was pleasant. The popcorn was hot. Cons: There seemed to be a delay in cleaning the theater so arriving 15 minutes early didn't mean much. We waited right outside the entrance to the theater for that amount of time. The staff appeared to be rushed to get it done as they were moving around very fast. The bathrooms definitely could have been cleaner. It seemed overlooked. Overall this is a theater to check out for the seating. Nothing else is that special. read more

Favorite theater to catch a flick regardless of the time of day. It's convenient, clean, and very accessible. There's a HUGE parking lot and public bus stops on the same block! There's more variety in films compared to the AMC in Bay Terrace and has two aisles split between the middle row (unlike Bay terrace where there's no split between the rows) Tips: the bathroom lines get pretty long after a film ends, always use the restroom before the flick! If you're like me and have to go before and after a film, it's great to sit in a middle to back row or leave the second the credits roll up (unless it's a marvel film, you have to stay til the end of the credits) - there are no bathrooms on the top floor, so definitely try to beat the line. There's an escalator going up but a regular staircase to go down (or up, to which I commend those who choose that option) - there's also an elevator that's hidden but takes you to the ground level where one theater resides by the main entrance. The concessions line is located in the basement, the lines get long as well. Thankfully I'm a premier stubs member and get priority service. The prices at AMC have hiked in the last few years, so concessions alone often equate the price of the movie ticket. Think of it as the same quality and price as the concessions at arenas. Overall, a great theater! I've seen a handful of theaters shut down, but this is one that will be in the area for a long time! read more

Typically, I'd be worrying that it'll get too cold in the room, that I'd feel bed bugs, or most seats are being occupied by customers who sneak in to catch 3 flicks a day. Well, have no fear for AMC Fresh Meadows is here! Bed bugs are less likely to hide in the red leather reclining chairs at this theater, which are also comfy as hell and allows you to watch a movie like a couch potato. The ability to reserve your tickets and seats in advance eliminates the need to arrive earlier because your seats are guaranteed to be there! They also have the usual popcorn and snacks sold in all theaters and touch-screen vending machines! Really, what more can you ask for? read more

This has easily become my favorite movie theater to go to. They have reclining couches that are so soft and wide enough so you don't feel cramp. After you come here it is hard to sit in a regular theater again. And on the plus side, there is no premium pricing for this type of theater. Tips: 1. Buy your ticket ONLINE. I don't usually come to this AMC since it's a bit out of the way for me to get to. BUT!! my friend told me how Fresh Meadows AMC had cozy plush seats!! She told me how comfortable they were and that a guy even fell asleep (idk if it was from the movie or seats but it's pretty funny) SO I had to check it out myself!!! I got to the theater pretty early for the movie I wanted to watch so I was able to pick which seats I wanted to sit in at the movie theater first since no one brought the tickets for the movie yet. Once I got in the theater I couldn't believe my eyes!!! There were rows of these plush cozy seats!!! and my boyfriend was joking telling me that you can pull up the leg part to go up (he didn't know either , it was his first time too) and I tried pulling and it did go up but didn't stay in place. I found the button on the inside side of the seat and BAM!!! you can adjust the seat to lean back and the leg part to go up!! You are put into the most comfortable position EVER!! as you are watching the movie! Okay, by the end of the movie - the movie was ehhh!!! BUT I still loved the movie experiences because of the seats!! it's sooo amazing!!! Anyways , something else besides the seats - the bathroom is really nice!! . There's a lot of space , there's a mirror room part to do your make up or what nots. Also theres a hand dryer on the side of the sink and the nice-er ones where you just insert your hands in and it dries your hands really quick. It's amazing!! Repeat recommendations led me to try this theater out - and now I can't imagine going to any other theater! I'm not a huge movie-goer but this experience has me thinking of excuses to return. The huge reclining seats were extremely comfortable; we weren't even in a rush to get up after the movie was over, which seemed to be the consensus among everyone else in the theater! Watching a movie while putting your feet up and reclining back is great. Being able to do it outside your home is awesome! The last time I was at this Fresh Meadows theater I thought it was awful, old and uncomfortable. Boy things have changed! The layout is still the same, bathrooms are located on the bottom level. Also, this definitely would not be the place to go if you want to see a movie alone since all the seats are literally right next to each other. Reclining Super Sofas! My review could end there, but I'll proceed with a bit more. I have now been to the AMC Fresh Meadows theater twice. Both times I had the same great experience. Parking is easy. Snack and beverages are good - or at least as good as they can be at a theater. The movie experience itself was excellent. There are several businesses in and around the Fresh Meadows theater, so the first thing you'll appreciate is the parking. There is enough parking; there is plenty of parking, and I haven't even had to park far away either. If you're driving to the movies, you know that you don't mind driving a bit further for the convenience. You won't have to if you go to Fresh Meadows. Another thing I appreciate is that tickets have reserved seating. No need to que up 2 hours before the start on a ticket holders line. I feel like i'm living in the future, and by the future I mean the past we should have had 15 years ago. The snacks and beverages - overpriced, but what do you expect, it's a theater. With that understanding - I've paid far more for snacks at theaters in the city so it is what it is. One upside? They've got one of those fancy coke machines that will give you pretty much any coke product you want in whatever flavor you want. My fav: Vanilla Coke. Finally, the biggest selling point... super reclining sofas seats. Their seats put those mobile Wall-E seats to shame. Seriously, go watch a movie there and 'treat yo self.' read more

3.5 stars I haven't been to this movie theater in years! Came here to watch a movie a few days ago and I absolutely loved the lazy boy seats. These seats are comfy and can recline up to 180 degrees (secretly wish I can get comfy seats like these during long haul airline flights :P). My go-to local theater when I am patient enough to wait a couple of weeks to watch a hot movie and/or lazy enough to only go when I have purchased a reserved seat so that I can show up JUST in time for the start of the movie and not get there early to buy tickets and or get there early to guarantee myself a decent seat. (Okay, that was a looong sentence but I'm too lazy right now to edit) The screens are decent and the recliners a big plus (although they've gotten a little worn since the theater first opened). I'm not really one to hit up the concessions so can't comment on that. I can say that the greeter who was there last night was a very pleasant and friendly guy who was just as nice when we left as when we were entering. Upkeep is not bad although sometimes there is stuff left behind from previous moviegoers that isn't thoroughly picked up after. 4.5 stars... The only serious negative to this place is that it's no where near public transportation, if you want to come here you better have access to a car (or live in the area). The only reason this theater has a low rating is that it used to be a crappy theater for years before it got renovated recently and now it should be a destination spot for any movie lover. The movie tickets are a couple dollars cheaper than anywhere else in the city which is fantasic considering what you get for that money is the most comfortable and enjoyable movie watching experience ever. Every ticket gets you a plush leather electric recliner with plenty of leg/arm room. The chair fully reclines giving you the most comfortable movie watching experience of your life. If you're going to a popular movie during a popular time (like Iron Man on a Saturday evening) you're best advised to buy your ticket online as the shows can sell out quickly, especially considering there are less seats than before they renovated. Seats are assigned so you may not be able to sit together with a big group, or even with one other person if you wait too long to buy a ticket. Food and drink options/prices are pretty standard but what's unique is that the Icee/Soda machines are self serve and the soda machine is digital. It's the coolest soda despenser I've ever seen. It has good deals in the morning shows. My son love this theater with it powered Red Leather Recliner and he was trying it out before getting it perfect. Check out attached picture Reserved seats are great, I arrived 10 mins before the show and had enough time to get pop corns and still have great sits. No more getting their 30 mins + earlier. Parking was easy too. P.S. only think I would change is to bring some wet napkins to clean the seats before seating, it felt okay, but I was thinking how often do they clean it and leather seem a little sticky, but it was a hot day.... read more

I went here about a year ago and was totally disgusted. But thank GOD for the upgrade! A friend told me about it so I had to get in before the electric recliners stop working. What a well needed upgrade. It was a nice experience but I still wish the box office wasn't outside and that it wouldn't get so filthy, and that maybe they need an usher since there are assigned seats which a lot of ppl arent aware of, and that they upgrade the bathroom... After all of those complaints its now only like.. partially renovated. Whats up with that!? Minus 2 stars! But I'll be back! LOL read more
