3.5 Stars I've been to the Colden Auditorium several times for graduation ceremonies, concerts and ethnic shows. On this occasion, my family and I went to see the New Shanghai Circus. The show itself was pretty good, not great, but pretty good. Entry and exit to/from the theater was made easy by the efficient, friendly staff. The seating staff, however, seemed over-whelmed by the crowds (even though the theater was half empty). There is a concession stand which I didn't visit but there are also some vending machines (snacks & beverages), which had pretty reasonable prices! Also, I MUST mention the restrooms; specifically the toilet paper situation (see photo), which, I have to admit, made me LAUGH. The toilet paper is tied by a string and hung over the coat hook inside the stall. Do you know how long your arms needs to be in order to read the toilet paper? (Best to plan ahead, if you know what I mean). Come on, Kupferberg Center, you can do better...a lot better. I have faith in you! Not my fav venue, but I would still come if there was a show that interests me. Tips: Parkng: There is a parking lot ($10 parking fee) but if you get there a little early, there is plenty of street parking. Box Office: Buy your tickets at the box office to avoid those ridiculous ticketing fees.

This small simple theatre is a step above a high school auditorium. The seats are comfy and sound system adequate. Parking here is not easy with tiny lots that fill quickly. Arrive early use the lots or plan in parking in the street 3 blocks away.

Yesterday we stopped in for some food and drink and we saw that they were setting up tables for an event. It looked beautiful. We were told that they were closed due to the event so the wife went to use the restroom before we left. While waiting, I started talking to a very friendly guy named Joe about the Knicks. Funny enough, he turned out to be the owner. When the wife came out, I asked if we could just have one drink at the bar since we came all the way out there, and Joe told the bartender "Let these two sit and order some drinks". We sat, drank, and talked to the owner about business and life in general and it was one of the most pleasant times we've had at a bar in years. We are fans of Cityview (and Joe) for life.

Is it the most impressive view of the skyline? No. But that's not where this place really shines. What truly sells City View Rooftop is the space. It's incredible. You could easily host a full on graduation party, baby shower, or just about any event you can think of THEN add that you can see the Manhattan skyline. The indoor outdoor layout is beautiful and works perfectly for summer, spring, or even a crisp fall day. The sound system is great, and there are seven or eight screens along the wall showing different visuals, which adds to the vibe. Service was excellent throughout our visit. And finally let's talk Shirley Temples. As a self proclaimed Shirley Temple connoisseur, I can confidently say theirs were chef's kiss.

I am having a dohl (first birthday) in May & I am super excited. They literally do EVERYTHING for you. I had a dilemma and I had to end up switching the day and the ladies were so nice about it and patient with me all the way. I am recommending this place to everyone. But the manager ruined my wedding experience, I had to cancel my event less than a month away with them because they were trying to add so many fees and were forcing me to hire their staff when I specifically told her that I was going to bring my waitresses... she still wanted me to pay 15% in tips even though I told her I did not want her staff. The owner is very greedy and even though we both agreed on a price for flowers, centerpieces, and decorations she decided to change her mind last minute. The manager told me to bring her a picture of how I wanted my centerpieces to look and they said they were going to make them. Yet when I arrived to show her how I want my centerpieces she said it was going to be more money, so I decided to cancel the flowers with her. I asked her if I could bring my own and decorate the lamps myself and she said: "no those are our lamps" even though I was renting out the entire venue from her if you want to decorate it will extra $1k. She then went on to say that if my bartender wanted to use the table in the venue it was going to be an extra fee. The manager never disclosed any of the extra fees for the flowers, for bringing my own stuff, and trying to decorate the lamps or even the bartender table. She decided to rack up the prices last minute because I didn't want to use the expensive services she wanted to charge me, even though it's not what we agreed on. I had previously read a comment regarding this issue but decided to try it anyway, but it's all true. They raise your hopes up and deceive you about how much it will actually cost. As the days go on they begin to increase prices on the things they originally promised on. I had put down a $2k deposit because I was so I love with the venue but I had to loose it because of the "additional fees" she wanted to charge me. She did mention to me that she was going to give me a credit for it but I told her I was never going back there. I had such a terrible experience and it was all ruined due to her seeing that she can take advance of me and my situation. My wedding being a month away I had to give up my venue because of them deciding to add fees on top of fees without any previous information. If she would have disclosed the EXTRA fees at the beginning when I originally booked the place then it would have been a different case. They completely took advantage of me and my family. I do not recommend anyone to book their wedding or event here.

The reason for the low review is the concern of safety of my kids. This place is not that big and it gets really crowded with kids and parents. I highly do not recommend kids under 2 unless you going to be a hawk and shield that baby. There are kids from all age groups and some of them are rough or clumsy players. The ball pit right in front of the door is not for jumping in. There is not enough balls so when you jump you can easily step on one of the balls and slip. I seen a lot of kids have accidents. Also the platforms are matted but it is still pretty hard. I saw one kid jump from the platform to the ground and she landed on one of the balls, slipped and knocked her chin on the platform block. Boy she was not happy. The square sponge pit I totally do not understand. The pit is small, deep and there's a giant pole right in the middle. The trampoline is small. You have to be careful especially if it's more than 3 kids as they will start jumping on top of each other. If you have younger kids you do have to watch them. When it is too crowded I would not recommend coming here.
