It looks very cozy. The waiters were nice and attentive. I gave 4 stars but it's more like 3.5. The happy hour menu looked great to me. You can't beat $6.19 cocktails. I ordered a melon drop and it tasted ok, not much alcohol taste, kinda plain. I also ordered honey Brussel sprouts. I understand it's "honey" but the Brussel sprouts were literally soaked in honey, not just a hint of honey. I think they'll taste so much better if they use less honey and add some balsamic to balance out the sweetness or maybe add a hint of spicy to it. I also tried buffalo chicken wings. We were in the North Park area and chose to eat dinner at 619 Spirits. Parking as per usual is not convenient in the area but it is what it is. We got our obligatory Old Fashioneds and sadly they were not good. Wife and I thought it might have been the ice cube that gave it a funky flavor. As far as the food we had not complaints as each of the items we ordered were delicious. We started with perfectly fried brussel sprouts. The only thing missing in them is a protein like bacon or pancetta or chorizo otherwise they were yummy. My chicken sandwich was perfectly fried and the aioli and pickles brought the sandwich together. Wife's carnitas tacos also were delish. We got chimichurri-style New York steaks cooked medium rare, with an unexpected side of fries. The food was flavorful, though the chimichurri sauce grew increasingly salty with each bite. It wasn't too busy so we were able to walk in and seat ourselves. - PARKING - North Park is always tough with finding a parking spot but we just circled around until we got one walkable distance away. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - We were greeted promptly after sitting down and since we were waiting on friends to join, we delayed ordering but the staff was very attentive the moment they came in. After ordering we got our food pretty soon after. It's dimly lit inside but you can still see one another across the tables. They also have sports playing on the TVs. - FOOD - Honey Brussels Sprouts: Pretty crispy but it was slightly overly honey-ed for me. Some clumps had way too much honey and I felt like I was just getting a spoonful of sweetness. Wings: Standard chicken wings, but the Lemon Pepper Seasoning was way too heavy, so it was pretty salty for some bites. Fried Chicken Sandwich: Loved the tater tots - super crispy just like I like them! The chicken sandwich was just OK for me - the chicken itself was a little dry, but the seasonings were good. - OVERALL - Just an OK spot for bites and drinks. I always assumed it was probably just a straight-up distillery -- dark, cold, maybe no food. Nope. It's open, bright, festive, and honestly just a really good hang! Slight tiki energy - beach bar vibes. On a rainy day it was perfect because it felt airy and cheerful instead of cozy-to-the-point-of-claustrophobic. The holiday decor was so festive too - if you're on a holiday bar crawl this would be a great spot! Philip was behind the bar and immediately made us feel welcome. Super friendly, super patient, had great suggestions, and checked in on us perfectly. The owners were also there with their senior dog, who completely stole the show and made the place feel even more cozy and happy. Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful and the whole place has a laidback vibe without lacking any attentiveness or service. We've come here for a handful of different reasons. Happy to say that each experience gets better. Initially had this review at a 3 in my drafts from last year, but from my time here recently, bumped it to a 4. The service is a bit confusing. You can order at the bar which creates a huge line. Or if you sit down, you can waive over someone to get your order taken. When we've gone, no one knows what to do. There isn't a sign so the confusion is understandable because it's not clear on how to get service. When it's not busy, everything is fine. They have a great happy hour. Love that it goes a little past 6pm as it ends at 6:19. Gives you a little bit more grace. I'm not a fan of their draft cocktails which I find too sweet but I do know others that enjoy them. For a brunch drink, highly recommend the Spritz & Slam! Their HH food is great for the deal. Wings, cauliflower, and truffle fries always hit. Their steak night special was ok. Wouldn't come back for that. Despite the service being confusing when they're packed & busy, their servers are always so nice. If you're a Wave fan, they've been hosting watch parties. The most excellent happy hour! The draft cocktails healed me. I had an aversion to draft cocktails after having some terrible experiences and bland drinks, but not here! The melon drop, the spicy berry cocktail and the rose cocktail were all delicious! We also had the vegan wings, which were battered and deep fried Brussels sprouts with a scrumptious ghost pepper sauce, and the tots with cheese sauce and bacon. Both were delicious and huge! But let's start with the sprouts. They were DRENCHED in honey. You couldn't even taste the sprouts for all the honey. Then the pasta. The shrimp were okay. Fresh. But the vodka sauce was completely flavorless. And the dessert - goodness. The "whipped cream" tasted like whipped lard with sugar in it and arrived at the table melted. So, I used to be a big believer in this establishment when they first opened up shop and I would visit them weekly. Good service, fun options on happy hour and solid food. Since Covid, this place has gone waaaaaaaaaaay downhill. Service is awful on a good day. Drinks are the worst in all of North Park. The owner doesn't give a flying f about any of it. It's sad really. I left around 6:30 PM, and the place was full with still, just two workers. We ended up moving to a table, where the server mentioned it was just the two of them working. I ordered the wings, which were fine, like everything else on the menu. We all thought the food was too salty. On the upside, they have a solid happy hour--$2 off drinks from 3 to 6 PM, if I remember right. My craft beer was only $6. Oh, and it gets extremely hot in here. There was no AC going. I came in last night SDRW. Highly disappointed! First off last night was a Thursday so parking was still nonexistent because it is North Park. Be prepared to pay for parking or you'll be circling for hours. Next is the menu they had listed on the SDRW website is different than what they actually presented so I felt a bit robbed since I was anticipating on spending a certain amount. The menu they provided was $10 more than posted on SDRW's site so it was $45/person +$5 for signature cocktail. Not only that but the current menu at the restaurant was a downgrade from the website. They also state for braised short ribs it'd come with veggies but all I got was a plain mixed salad with no dressing. It'd be nice if they'd mentioned they were out of an item and had to sub. Also the walk to their bathroom is elevated so myself and others tripped on it. They are also dog friendly so there were a bunch of dogs inside which surprised me.
