I waited to give the new ownership a chance and went to a couple of movies in the meantime. And the reviews are in... Two thumbs down. This place used to be a great place to see a film. reserved seating, nice bar, decent food, excellent audio and visual experience. But since AMC took over, there has been a degradation across the board. - The bar has more open than occupied taps, and none are local. Lagunitas and Sierra Nevada are considered their "microbrews". And you can't order more than one drink at a time, even if ordering for someone else. they literally have to see that person and watch them carry the beer out. - The audio quality is hit and miss. I sat in one theatre (4 I think) for Tomorrow Never Dies, and the sound was fine, but a week later went to see Dune in theatre 7 and could not hear the dialogue whatsoever. - The place needs serious maintenance. This is disappointing as the place is literally a walk for me, but Im going to have to look for other, non-AMC options. read more

Should've read the reviews before waisting our money! Wow this place is sad. They definitely shouldn't market this as a "Dine-In" theatre. All food items were unavailable and they only had old popcorn and a soda machine. The employees all looked so miserable and poorly managed. If I could give less than 1 star I would. The screen blacked out 4 times during the film, we did not even finish the movie and had to ask for a refund. The seats were the worst theater seats ever, it seemed as if you were getting tipped forward and you had to push yourself back to get even slightly comfortable. If you're considering going here, just don't.... Probably would've been better just knocking the entire place down, such a bummer of a movie theater. Go to a regal or wait until you can watch the movie from home, not worth spending a penny here. read more

I'm not sure if it's entirely pandemic related or just AMC management vs Cinetopia. I suspect a combination of both... This theater has severely degraded in quality over the past 2 or so years. Very limited food and alcohol selection relative to how it used to be which I would assume is pandemic. Popcorn had been sitting out and was cold. I regretted purchasing it. The food I ordered from the kitchen was unappetizing. There was an issue with the speaker in the theater we were in which made dialog completely inaudible at times and tinny and and quiet at best. The foot rests had been removed from the theater. The screen seemed dim. Overall just not the premium experience it used to be but still charging premium ticket pricing. The staff, especially the bartender were super friendly, though. Extra star for them. I'll give this theater another shot when things return to normal since it used to be my go-to but currently doesn't seem to be worth paying extra or driving out of the way for. read more

Horrible sound, sound kept clipping when someone in the movie would sing, talk or yell louder. For the price in comparison to other theatres the space looks super outdated and doesn't offer some amenities that others do like more comfortable seating. Multiple people couldn't move without their seat squeaking at the slightest movement. Design of theatres is dumb, not sure why the entrance/exit is in a spot that makes it so any person going in and out of the theatre room is completely visible , leaking tons of light in super distracting . read more

Went to see a flick here and have lunch with my son. Disappointed right away and they had NO food to offer. NOTHING. Just the usual massively overpriced popcorn and drinks. Dine-in? NOT. We instead went hungry and went to find our seats to discover we were placed next to a seat covered in a plastic bag and taped off like they had a roof leak or something. The cup holders were disgusting as well. Worst theater I have ever been in including even small family owned ones with sticky floors, this was worse! Go to Regal or Cinemark instead. AMC obviously doesn't even care at all. My inquiries were met with "we will look into it" replies. I will no longer support this company. Ok, Cinetopia was a great concept although I never really liked it due primarily to the uncomfortable seats (GXL theater excepted). We were in with peeps recently to watch Star Wars: The rise of Skywalker and had bought our tickets weeks before so no problem getting in. The lady checking us (and many others) in seemed like she was going through the motions and not interested. In retrospect I'm pretty sure anybody that wanted to could have bypassed the line and walked through. So I went in while my wife and peeps ordered food. Nachos, Mac and Cheese, and a large coke cost $44 plus tip, all of which was brought to us in the dark. Tasty but spendy. Maybe it's just me but I never saw the appeal of eating food I can't see. Still don't. These seats did have backs that rocked back which is a modest improvement over the hard back seats I've experienced before. Another problem are the ottomans. They're in the way more than anything, impede people's ingress/egress, and in my opinion aren't particularly comfortable. Parking at this particular theater is always a challenge. Being the innovative concept that it once was, other theaters such as Regal have taken it to the next level including consistency between theaters and wide recliners, to name two. True, there is no service to your seat nor can you drink while watching your movie but in my view those are acceptable deficits in lieu of enhanced access and comfort. I'm sure this won't be my last visit to AMC but truth be told, I can't recommend it. There are better (and less expensive) options. read more

Seats are VERY uncomfortable and need to be replaced- old and stiff, no recliners as in most theaters these days. I wondered why the seats in the center were all open when I reserved and found them torn up and broken, although they were left "available." Apparently the locals know which ones to avoid but I'm new to the area. Smaller theater rooms seem a bit better. Surprised at the low quality of the interior in a relatively affluent area. I haven't been to Cinetopia for at least 4-5 years. Saw a movie last weekend and holy cow has this place gone downhill! There must be some kind of ventilation issue; there was a thick haze of burned popcorn floating near the ceiling along with an overall "humid" sensation . We wanted to grab a drink and snack ahead of the show but there was only one employee working at the bar while the rest of the restaurant portion was closed. Now normally I try to be nice about places, but this one just made me feel a big fat MEH because of the experience and the prices. Had it been cheaper, I think I would have shrugged off the experience. But when you get food and tickets and it's like.... Almost $100 for a double feature movie experience, you'd hope it would be a little better. Suffice to say, here's my novel. Lol. The staff were nice but it felt like they were a little worn-down and defeated. This will not be a review on staff at all, they were all kind and doing the best they could but were definitely understaffed, and quite frankly a lot of the issues I had with the place were of no fault of theirs. The place is definitely in a bad state. The floors were sticky. It was difficult to find trashcans that weren't overflowing. The food was, like all theater food, over expensive and not really worth the price. (We had gotten done with our hike late so didn't have time to get food beforehand, so that's on us, but the food was... Meh.). I don't go into theaters expecting five star gourmet food but some of this tasted a little off. Had a major stomach ache after it. We had decided to do a double feature movie day and had pre-purchased tickets a few days before. The first movie was in a theater with regular seating, but the seats were too tall for anyone below the height of 5'4". Children and short people beware. If the seats had a footrest option this wouldn't be an issue, NBD. The first theater wasn't really the issue, though. Was it worth $10 tickets? Maybe I'm just old and haven't caught up with inflation in my brain. I still remember when matinee prices were $5, not $10. The second movie we saw was in one of the "living room" auditoriums (theater #12), which we were not expecting. Online we had been promised "reclining seats" which was far from the case. Instead you got really uncomfortable arm chairs with low backs and virtually no foot room. I'm SHORT. Seriously, there are elementary school students as tall as me. If I have no foot room, I know tall people don't! My poor husband looked like he was squished up even when he backed his chair up into the walkway. The other tall people around me had done the same. There were mirrors in the room too, one that was particularly shiny and in all of the scenes with flashing lights... Oof. It made the experience just that little bit more less enjoyable. Who puts mirrors in a room with a movie being projected onto a screen? There was also this loud hum from either AC or equipment the entire time that interfered with the sound. Now, I know I can be a bit of a germaphobe, but the chairs were fabric instead of leather (or pleather) and thus a little harder to quickly clean between showings. They put fabric pillows on these seats.... I covered it all up with my jacket because I did NOT want my skin or hair touching it all. Really we should have left and gotten refunded but we had really wanted to see the movie. We're going to call it our stupid tax and never go to this supposedly "posh" place again. Avoid that living room theater! Less comfortable, smaller screen, freaking mirrors, and no recliners. The cake is a lie! You pay a premium to be squished up and uncomfortable the entire time. (That's what really got me... You pay a premium for a crappy room.) One thing I will give the workers, the bathrooms were CLEAN. I will give props for that. So managers of the place, please don't crap on the workers, but maybe work with corporate to improve some of the issues? read more

We went yesterday and watch Lion King. We went to the bar first since we were early. They had one person working which was fine but it took forever to order are food and drinks. The bartender also was not that nice when we spoke/ordered. The theater it self was fine but it was a ghost town. I am not sure if it was because it was 4 pm on a Sunday. The food was eh. I would not order my food again but other were okay. I had a southwest bowl. I asked for no jalapenos but they were there. They were also suppose to have a three cheese on it but I got feta? It was weird for the bowl. Would I got back? I do not think I would on my own but I would if other wanted/needed. read more

Preface: I've been here 3 times now. Each time gets worse. This time, I came to watch "The Green Knight." Pros : The staff was great. They were helpful but not fake. The picture and audio in theater were superb. The dialogue, action, and music were well balanced aurally. There's a baby grand piano that you can play in the bar if you want. Cons : I give this a 2 star review because AMC was straight sloppy. My theater was "living room" style with couches and tables. When I arrived, the entire "D" row chairs were shoved against the side. Luckily, there was no one in row C so we sat there. I guess the cleaning people didn't put them back. When I bought tickets online, it repeatedly mentioned a bar and "dine-in" experience, yet you cannot order meals or alcohol before 5pm. My movie started at 4:05. Eventually I went to the bar for a beer around 5:30. The bartender informed me that the only beer on tap was Coors Light. Wtf. I opted for wine. They had a good selection of red wine yet when I received the check, I asked the bartender if she made a mistake. She said no, "it's movie theater prices." Sure, I get it. $15 for a small cup of wine is ridiculous though. Mcmenamins will sell you twice as much wine for $10 and sell you food any time of day. Just another corporation trying to nickel and dime. read more

First 10 minutes of the movie they forgot to turn down the lights. Sadly, we'll try a different theater next time. We recommend Bridgeport. Wow! Has this place gone downhill since COVID! Just went to see 2nd Avitar movie.... (Awful & not theater's fault) and sat in small theater off the bar. Back middle seat along the wall. First, that booth is so warn out that it is impossible to get comfortable. Instead of replacing seat cushion they threw two pillows on there for everyone to get their cooties on! Ewe. Then the cushion/table you put your concessions or feet on was so cracked up & torn that it made it either uncomfortable or too disgusting to put food on. Bathroom was clean. You do deserve props for that, although one or two stalls were marked broken. What's up w/ basic concessions now when there used to be some nice dessert type options & food? Very disappointed. I haven't been to this locatin in a long while and with this theater now being under AMC it was alright. I first arrived to purchase tickets a day before the movie to select seats and didn't want to pay the online fee. The outside box office was closed and told to purchase tickets inside, then by guest services another sign directing towards the concessions stand. A little confusing at first. For the day of the movie, the concession stand prices were all over the place as some items were mispriced in the menu boars. The small popcorn did seem like a lot compared to Regal or other theater companies which was nice. The chairs reclined back automatically and were very low, possible it was in the specific auditorium. Restrooms were decent but instead of fillmg the automatic paper towel dispenser, rolls of paper towels were just left next to the sinks. All the employees encountered though were very nice and generous. I even got a discount for the Tuesday $5 movie tickets though I am not a member. I don't know if I will become a member but it seems that improvements are still being made or need to be done. read more

One star because they did show a movie. They're supposed to offer food and alcohol. Went to a 4:45 pm movie intending to eat. They said there's no food available and they can't serve alcohol until food is served, after 5:00. Food btw is hot dogs and nachos. I came back at 5:15, the server didn't show up they said, but there are at least 6 employees in view, and zero attempts by the employees to placate this super annoyed customer. I guess it's not Cinetopia anymore. We don't go to the movies often but wanted to see the Nike Air and it's only in theaters. Movie was good and it didn't seem like you could order food like you could when it was cinetopia. There were about 3 people working total, I'm sure this is the norm since Covid and people not going to movies but also sad that theaters are becoming a thing of the past, we enjoyed going to a movie and will do it more often. We bought the tickets online and a Sunday matinee was 30% off. You just went to the snack bar to get your ticket scanned which made a line since snack bar but all good, just had a bit of a line. I am not sure if the AMC still has theaters with the living room style like Cinetopia had, we were just in a normal one but it was fine and we got to see the movie. Next time we will sit further back and I'm so glad I had my noise canceling headphones as the previews were too much for me with being extremely noise sensitive but once the movie started I could take my headphones off. Recently went for a movie on Christmas. Not as nice as it used to be. Seats are not very comfortable.

The staff here is so pleasant. The cashier and supervisor were so nice and helpful with the birthday popcorn issue I was having with my rewards account on my phone. Bits of popcorn on the floor, expected in a busy theater, were cleaned promptly and without request. The theater lacked recliners but I didn't miss them, every little couch has an ottoman and pillows. The rooms are cozy, with vintage-styled decor on the walls, gilded frames, an unlit fireplace, and soft lighting from the beautiful antique wall lamps. The movie quality was great, vibrant with no issues and rich audio. I loved this unique, quaint experience and will be back. read more

No food options when we arrived others that popcorn and standard movie theater snacks. Was hoping for some real food options like they had before. We were in one of the theaters up to the left which used to all have ottomans or recliners. Now the just had rocking chairs. It was not as comfortable as it used to be. If I could 0 star this, I would. My wife and I decided we wanted to see a crappy movie and chose to see Morbius (I know). We bought tickets, showed up for the time, and they had cancelled the showing due to a "broken theatre". They offered another time. The CSR didn't apologize for it, or anything. Said the movie was about to start.... We went to the new time, and the movie was 30 minutes+ in. We got a refund and walked away. My wife and I have spent many years taking our family to movies here... those times have passed. Never coming again. I'll go back and drive to Cedar Hills for now on, despite living walkable to AMC. As a business man, your staff is poorly trained, your theatres are gross and dirty, and it's clear AMC is borderline bankrupt. Why did you even purchase this place? read more

Loved this place when it was Cinetopia. But now, as AMC, all that I have heard is true. The employees are lackluster at best and when we reported to one that one of our reserved seats had a huge glob of wet candy or gum on it, instead of making sure someone addressed it before our movie started, she sat and did nothing. So after 10 minutes, we had to come out again to report it and she merely whined when we said our movie was starting and one of our party of four couldn't sit. Cleanliness is shot to hell. And comparing these seats to the cushy recliners at Century 16 at Cedar Hills is laughable. Based on our experience, I won't go back, which is a shame, because it is my neighborhood theater. read more

This theater is not what it used to be back in the CInetopia days. There was only one person selling tickets out front on a Saturday night. It was cold and rainy outside. Food/concessions line was too long, so we decided not to bother, but our seat neighbor did and she waited so long she was given a device which "Buzzed" her during the movie (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) so it was a big distraction for her, and a bit of a nuisance for everyone around her. Although the sound and quality of GXL was decent, the chair I sat in was not comfortable. It was stiffly upright and didn't quite recline, just rocked a bit when I leaned back. read more

I loved this theater when it was Cinetopia. Once the exchange happened, the cleanliness of the theater went down the drain completely. On the walls where Cinetopia used to feature local artists, there are now empty slots with broken lights and peeling paint. It now feels like seeing a movie at a second run movie theater. Also, now that it's AMC, the employees seem completely lackluster and the overall experience is subpar. Even though I had a ticket, no one bothered to check to see if I did. I'm certain anyone could have just walked in. I would have thought AMC would have spruced up the interior for the several weeks they were closed. I went to see Top Gun over the weekend and discovered this place needs some updating. Our seats were cracked and not all that comfortable. We were in theater 9 where there used to be ottoman's and there are no longer ottoman's, so that was disappointing. Luckily I wasn't hungry because the only food options were popcorn, hotdogs or candy. The theater was hot inside, no air circulation. Other than all this, not bad and was happy they had matinee pricing unlike other theaters I checked. Hopefully they make some positive changes so people start going to this theater more. read more

AMC took a good thing, and proceeded to take a massive dump on this movie theater. No longer does the cooler on the end of the concession stand hold delicious crafted desserts, cheesecake, cake, yogurt cups, fruit cups, and fancy unexpected movie theater treats, now it sadly boasts a display of usual dollar box candy that every theater has, no more exciting than the dollar display boxes of m&ms, mike&ikes that Walmart has. They completely took away movies that are 21+ seating only (sometimes I want to watch a movie, with the assurance that some dumbass isn't going to bring their tired, loud, screaming child into the theater to run around and talk and distract everyone else from the movie.) so now even if you go to a late showing, you might have screaming kids in your theater. The alcohol options suck, the bar was basically empty and looked almost abandoned, it was just sad! When we were waiting for the movie, sitting in the lounge area, it didn't feel as clean as how Cinetopia had things; the leather couches felt sticky, and the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in ages. When it came time for bringing our food to us, it just didn't happen. We had to go remind the people we'd ordered, multiple times, and then they didn't bring popcorn -- said it was our fault, and tried to claim we had already been given popcorn, when we hadn't. So we had to go stand in line again, for popcorn. The food wasn't even good! It's just not worth it anymore. Cinetopia used to be my favorite theater, because the seats were comfortable, well maintained, clean, and the food was restaurant quality, and I could see a movie with the assurance there would be no bratty kids to ruin it. The one star consensus is fair. This place is trash. Which is sad because Cinetopia was so great. The main issue here is experience. The staff are new, and it's very apparent. In one visit, I had to remind the staff to start the movie 3 mins after it was supposed to start... I mean they weren't even playing lame ads for the 20 min leading up to the movie when I reminded them. Then 15 min later, someone had to remind them to turn off the lights. This same trip the popcorn was stale... Like leftover from last night bad. On another trip, waiting in line for 20+ min watching staff chat while slowing scooping ice in cups (when I say "slowly" I mean "glacially slow" as the line got larger and larger. Eventually, I decided to cut my losses and ditched. I love that they have a "premium class" (or whatever they call it)when this place is so bad. I think I'll skip that club. Also, their bar section still isn't open. read more

When the theater was cinetopia they had a theater called the movie parlor. It was fantastic. Nice comfortable couches, lots of space between people, and a foot rest where you could also put food on which is much better than those TV tables that act a lot like old school desks. The movie parlor being gone has ruined the theater experience for me. They also changed their menu and the food is not close to as good as it was. Unless they put things back I will probably just go to a regular theater. No point going out of my way and paying more for a less satisfying experience. read more

I'll start with a compliment. Nice employees. I thought they were friendly. But Oh my. Cinetopia was a literal dream compared to AMC. And everyone knows Cinetopia struggled maintaining the chairs and upkeep there toward the end. Where do I start. Food took 25 minutes with hardly anyone in the lobby or theater. Not a busy night whatsoever. Tasted so horrible. I'm shocked they are allowed to serve that. It was a southwestern salad. I've attached a picture. Chicken was a previous frozen nugget type thing. Strange rice at the bottom . Absolutely no flavor. More like a TV dinner mixed with a handful of lettuce. And not cheap. One person literally smoking pot in the movie!!!!!!!. No one checking tickets and the guy walked in the building with a full backpack . I saw him walk in as I was waiting for food. He went in to one movie and was there maybe 15 minutes and then proceeded to go to our theater. On the other side of the theater was Another guy - - stripping down and laughing loudly. Moving all about. Looked like he was changing his clothes. Came in and out of theater. Something "off" with that situation as well. The concession area is unkept. Caution tape or whatever strapped across the room blocking off the once beautiful restaurant. I am hoping they realize what a goldmine this place could be and put some quality food and service in this gorgeous theater. Everyone that lives in this area WANTS to support this theater and keep it in business. But come on AMC. I heard from neighbors that AMC is worse than Cinetopia but wanted to give it a chance. One person gave me such an earful, I thought he was exaggerating. Uh ... no There was only a total of maybe 20 people in the theater when we were there. I remember at one point Cinetopia was packed all the time. Used to love the waitstaff in the living room theaters. Even at its worse, Cinetopia was better quality food than the microwaved food of AMC I'm writing so much because I would love to see AMC step up and get this right. It's not too late. Hire an experienced food service director and maybe change it up a bit. Hire a chef! Put some effort and believe me this area... people will come. Definitely check people coming in for tickets and maybe a smoke detector? Or security just checking in theaters here and there. Don't let people just walk in off the streets and head to a theater. That's craziness. Offensive to have my family at a family movie with this going on. Actually at any movie this should not happen. read more
