Took the Family to a Movie on a Saturday, out of Four drink machines only one wasn't empty, the one place was very dirty, this was when they just opened, so it should have been clean and machines full, then we get to our seats they are dirty and broke, then the movie just stops, what a joke! AMC has stepped up its game in recent years. It was always our go-to theatre because it is a)near our house and b)much nicer than others in the area. We aren't big moviegoers, but generally if the movie did not come to AMC we were even less likely to get out to see it. Then...recliners with reserved seating arrived. How has this not been a thing for all of recorded history!? In one fell swoop (ok, with lengthy construction), all of the crappy things about movie going were vanquished: timing arrival to get a good seat. Sitting in too close proximity to seething masses of humanity on opening night. Not being able to recline your chair. Getting stuck in the front row if you don't arrive early enough. Having to try to save a seat for your loser friend who always arrives late. All of these things are no more, as now you can log on and CHOOSE your comfy, reclining, roomy seat. And if the seat you would like is not available, you can always check another showing. And when the time comes, you can breeze right in in time for the previews and not worry about where you'll sit. On Tuesdays, the theatre offers half price tickets, but you can't reserve your seat online (however, you can log on earlier in the day and get an idea of how many seats are open). And they have the AMC Stubs program which I confess I am not a member of, but my BFF is and she gets lots of perks with the membership. I am awaiting heated seats and adult beverages served to me at my seat before I will bump this up to 5 stars. Your move, AMC. read more

This is the best movie theater that I've been to in a very long time. It looked like they've just recently remodeled the place. There is no bad seat in the house! The seats are big, nice and comfy, and they all recline with foot rest at the push of a button. You also get to select your seats when you buy your tickets. You can buy your tickets with the teller or with their machines. If I'm ever in Tulsa again, I'll definitely come here again to watch a movie. read more

I have never had access to a theatre with reclining seats before moving to Tulsa. Lately, I have found myself at AMC Southroads 1-2 times per week. I love to go with a group on Tuesdays for $5 movies. Now that I'm a AMC Stubs A-List Member, I can go up to three times per week for any movie I want. If you love going to the movies, I highly recommend looking into it. The program pays for itself if you see two regular priced movies per month. You also get points towards $5 rewards which I sometimes use to pay for my friends to go to the movies with me. I would give AMC Stubs 5 stars. AMC Southroads is still at four for now, because they are still figuring out how to handle crowds. Even with the Stubs only lanes, I still sometimes wait an unreasonable amount of time in line considering I bought the ticket online. Lately they have done a better job at having an employee with a scanner for people who purchased tickets online for peak hours, but it has not been consistent in my experience. It doesn't stop me from visiting one to two times per week, but I do sometimes have to give myself more time than I would like. Can't miss the previews, they are the best part!!! read more

This is my favorite theater in Tulsa! AMC Southroads 20 has definitely had a face lift since it was first build. The seats here are now reserved and it is best to buy them online in advance. I hate when people are standing in line complaining to the cashier about there not being any tickets. It is so simple to buy tickets online and get the exact seats you want. The tickets are a little more expensive, but it is way worth it. The seats are larger and they recline. You do not have to sit really close to the other person, unless you want to, of course! I almost fall asleep, these seats are so comfortable. There are also less "wild" kids at this theater. Due to the reserve seats, people are less likely to sneak in and ruin the movie. People are also more respectful during the movie, with no phones or talking. Of course, the concessions are out of control. However, they do have free refills on soda, popcorn, and ICEEs. I have noticed the drink stations are always a mess; but its fine, I just get my straw, and move on. We have not seen a movie anywhere else, since finding AMC. It is always a pleasant, relaxing experience. So, since you are going spend a fortune on movie night at every theater in town, might as well go to the best one to spend your hard earned money! read more

this is a review for the amc southroads 20 in tulsa. my wife and i secured tickets in the early hours of 4/22/22 for the movie ambulance. because of work issues, we arrived a few minutes after the movie started. we had reserved seats c1 and c2 in theatre 6. upon arriving quietly, there was a man in c2. we showed him our tickets and reluctantly he moved. he then rearranged his party of 4 and came back to sit in c3 next to me. he was mumbling under his breath which i ignored. he got up 5 minutes later and left the theatre. within 5 minutes an usher showed up and asked to see our tickets which were c21 and c2. the usher left. after the usher left, a female in the party of 4 got up and stopped in front of my seat and said "you are ruining our movie experience" i responded, "sorry" but these are our seats. the group of 4, 2 adults, and 2 children all had masks on. she continued to speak to me about our infringing upon their space. i told her to leave me alone and go sit down. she left the theatre and 15 minutes later returned. within 5 minutes the manager, an usher, and a security guard returned and the manager asked to see our tickets. we complied. he gave me a choice to move or leave. i told him i would do neither. he insisted. we had a heated discussion where i stated that we had purchased our tickets early that morning and that if the other party wanted separation they could have chosen different seats. he disagreed. we left the theatre and spoke to the manager in the lobby. i said he was wrong in the way he handled the situation and he said he was not. he said he was going to offer me a free pass if we had moved. we don't need free passes, as we pay monthly on the alist stubs program. we are disappointed in the way this was handled. read more

This is probably the worst movie theater I have ever been too. The upkeep was terrible. And the employees were very short and rude with me. There was hair in my popcorn (and not just one strand). The people at the front checking my tickets were very rude and passive aggressive when I took a little bit to pull up my ticket on my phone. They were also harassing teenagers for no reason and even followed them in the theatre. I saw at least two employees vaping on the job. I will not be returning to this establishment again and would strongly recommend others to do the same. read more

Just got done watching Avengers: Infinity War on IMAX 3-D. The sound was horrible!! Could barely understand the dialogue. We had 13 tickets with our friends and all of us hated that we spent that much money for bad sound quality. Complained to the manager and nothing was done. Would not waste money on this theater. read more

AMC is typically my preferred theater (I like preselecting my seats and sitting in recliners). However, southroads has made some changes which have really slowed down the process. From what I can tell, people buying tickets, scanning tickets from their phone, and those who already have tickets to hand over are all herded into one long, congested like. Great place to watch a movie. Great seating as it is like you are reclining in your very own chair! Tge only problem that I have is that as the movie was about to start a moving object caught my eye on the steps in the theater. We went to the Labor Day showing of The Meg at 3:15. Went into the theater 10 minutes early, and there were old drink cups and and popcorn bags and used napkins everywhere. Do they not clean between movies? Also, no attendant at the Stubbs Premiere food counter, so we left it and got in the regular line. read more

First-run movie theaters are pricey these days wherever you go, but at least this one is SUPER nice!! I had an AMC gift certificate to burn, so I didn't mind shelling out the twenty five bucks for 2 tickets to Thor: The Dark World in 3D (early evening matinee). Normally I'd balk at that (go ahead and call me cheap, because I am). I had never seen a modern 3D movie in theaters, so this was a treat. But I'd have to say I was most impressed by the luxurious huge recliner-style seats! This theater requires you to choose your assigned seats when you purchase your ticket. I didn't love that idea, personally. I overheard it causing problems for some other moviegoers who were meeting friends. Nevertheless, everything was spotlessly clean including the restrooms and corridors, and there's ample parking. read more

Too see or not to see, that is never the question when it comes to AMC southroads 20. The staff is fast friendly and keep this place CLEAN. The reclining seats are so comfortable. The AMC app makes it easy to buy and reserve seats right from your phone. Also I have found the AMC app to be cheaper to buy tickets from than other apps used to buy movie tickets. A lot of times there are cardboard cutouts placed throughout the theater so that you can get fun kooky pictures taken with the stars of your favorite movies. It's fun for people of all ages. read more

Can't recommend this or anyother AMC. The consesion was terrible, popcorn and ice all over the floor, only 3 unfriendly people serving food and a line 4 rows back. Coke machine ran out of Diet Coke, restroom needed cleaning and no one available for it either. No bonus or benefits for my Birthday, which I had 2 other theater groups I am associated with gave me free tickets for any show and popcorn with having to purchase a separate grouping..as a mater of fact they have more free give away and the big wonderful seats we love. read more

Every time you call them no one answers the phone. It's always automated and all they tell you to do is call back. It's an extreme inconvenience when there is no one to actually answer the phone or try and help you right away. It's extremely frustrating this Dane age when businesses use to choose him adequate phone systems are not helping their customers in any way whatsoever. read more

I have been going to this theater for several years and have always enjoyed the cleanliness and nice staff but when we came to we a movie tonight we were treated worse than I have I many years and I am mad entropy write this review. They started putting lines at the entrance which makes you wait 10-15 minutes just to get in the door then we went to the concession and were 3rd in line. There was only one cashier and we waited for about 7 minutes and it seemed a little irritating BUT before it t was our turn to go to the cashier ( we were cordoned off like a bank teller) some people walked up in a premier line a good 10 minutes after were waiting our turn. They said we will help the next premier line!! These people literally just walked up!! I was like ok well that sucks, then they opened another register and they said I will help the next premier member!!! Now I'm getting angry. I said we were next they said we help 2 of them for every one of you! The manager was there name was BILL he wouldn't give me his last name l. He said tha s how we do it now. They helped 4 people ahead of us after we waited there by ourselves and let me tell you, I am very angry. I was ok NEVER come through another AMC theater again and I will tell a minimum of 100 people I know about this. Yes I am angry and this is a shit show. I used to love this theater but they made a horrible decision bringing in new "recliners" that don't recline. Your feet only come about 6" off the ground. How is that even comfortable? It's not, by the way. Since your foot rest doesn't come up, there is no where to put your popcorn that you're sharing. Awful, may have to find a better go-to theater. We had the most wonderful experience on the Fourth of July when we went to see "Toy Story 4". I Ofer Ed the tickets online, like I usually do, but this time I ordered our popcorn and drinks online, as well. Went to the Tuesday $5 movie but since we bought it online it was $9!!!! Tried to ask the ticket agent about and got no explanation or assistance. After we left theater and my husband realized he left his phone. Went back immediately to retrieve and had to argue with rude ticket guy who insisted that a movie was showing and someone was in our seat already. I watched him go into the wrong theater and was rebuffed when I tried to explain that we were in a different theater. Poor customer service all around. I lament the days of the "kind of weird smelling" mom and pop movie theatre. You know, the mix of bowling alley and skating rink. They simply don't exist anymore. All we have now are these corporate behemoths and if you're lucky an art-house theatre in an up and coming "hip" neighborhood. All that said, for the modern movie experience, you'd be hard pressed to do better than this AMC. They were the first in town to have reclining reserved seats. The picture and sound quality is absurdly good. Especially in the IMAX theatre. Even if it's not "really" IMAX. Still blows you away. This is the best place for my money to see the huge summer tent poles, and you will absolutely pay for the privilege of being at "the best." read more

As they were informed that the theater had no volume the girl behind the counter screamed " gosh we are fixing it, we know." The same girl went back to her conversation about an event she attended sharing her opinion cursing and yelling she did care what people thought about it. I understand you guys have a policy of not letting people buy tickets 20 minutes after showtime but we were seriously 4 minutes late to IT, which surely was not fully reserved because it's been out for a while now. The lady at the customer service desk on 9/28/17 at 8:54 (the movie "started" at 8:30--let's be honest it's still previews at this point) was super rude. I like the other theaters in the complex but the IMAX was horrible, I liked that they kept the old seats to maximize seating but they really need to lean how to control the thermostat in there is was so horrible I was sweating horribly and it just made me want to sleep threw the movie!!! I dont think I could love a theater anymore than this one! Before the renovations it was my favorite place to go watch a movie. I love their stubs program and use it often. They're food selection is like any other theater, overpriced but its good. They're employees are good to all the customers. Its always clean and kept up well. The bathrooms are nice. Now since the renovations with the recliners, it leaves less room for seats, so I recommend getting there early so you can take your pick. The recliners just make the experience that much better. AMC Southroads 20 is a decent theater with comfortable recliners. It is not my favorite theater, that would be the Broken Arrow Warren, but this one is second. They offer AMC StubHub memberships which is a nice little perk for going there. read more
