I've come here a few times and honestly had a great experience with the staff, the food is subpar. When asked if I could get "fresh" popcorn and request a new batch, the staff not only made a fresh batch, but also delivered it to me in the theater! Never expected such great service at a movie theater! Despite the appetizing pictures, the food is poor, it's what you can expect from a movie theater. The popcorn (without butter) is very very salty, I only made it through 1/2 the bag. The giant 1 pound pretzel is honestly gross. I took a few bites of it with the nacho and mustard sauces and I was done. I also got drinks right before a show and Shawn, the bartender, was super friendly and made us great drinks! He gave us free promotional cups for the "I Feel Pretty" movie and made me a whiskey ginger. He shared stories about his adventurous travels and honey island in Brazil and a couple of other cool spots. Very interesting and enjoyed the fun conversation! It was nice to be able to take the drinks with us and enjoy them during the movie. If you have time before the show, I recommend coming here and grabbing drinks! If you are in a rush, I would skip the food and just get drinks. read more

Look at the pictures, the bathrooms are covered in pee, sinks clogged and 100% unsanitary conditions. These photos were taken on 3 separate occasions, on weekends. There is only 1 employee selling tickets and that's the same line for online ticket buyers (thanks to the $3 per ticket convenience fee). I emailed AMC and they completely ignored my concerns, they replied with "thank you for the feedback" and closed the ticket. $15 for the movie ticket, $3 for "convenience fee", $8 for pop corns... and you can't even use the restrooms. I don't have to come to the movie theater, I can wait that movies come out on Pay per View or Netflix. So you're not exactly helping your case here. read more

Absolutely disgusting. I had not been to the Tysons theater in years and am just shocked at the condition. Even though we purchased tickets in advance, we almost turned around and walked out when we saw the state of the lobby and concession stand. Filth and disarray. The floor and entire width of the concession stand were littered with spilled food and drinks, the fountain soda machines were filthy, and the food looked absolutely disgusting. And reflecting the general state of poor maintenance, every single napkin dispenser was empty. To be safe, we thought we might try one of the prepackaged food items, but most of those shelves were bare, with some of the available options strewn on the floor instead, so we just opted for bottled water and headed to our theater, which is where the misery really started. I assumed an IMAX theater with reserved seating would at least be clean and comfortable, but that was a mistake. The theater was dirty and the air conditioning was completely inadequate. Bonus, they had the audio track turned up so loud that it was painful at points. Overall, the experience was just horrible and we regretted not turning around and walking out when the lobby tried to warn us. Save your money. Go somewhere else. Go anywhere else. read more

We came here for a pre-showing of the movie "The Call of the Wild" with Harrison Ford and "Buck", the sweetest CGI dog ever! The show didn't start until 7pm, but we decided to come an hour early to make sure we get in. We got there and plenty of people were in line already, although when the line started moving, we got in pretty quickly. I was very happy with how they managed to get a lot of people in. The popcorn line was very long and they weren't moving too fast so some people were getting annoyed and loud. Although it's not as bad as the guy that was shouting in his phone while we were walking in the theater. I don't think that's the establishment's fault but I guess but nonetheless, they should have asked the guy to leave the area. The theater was pretty big and we were able to get some decent seats but I have been at other theaters where their seats were very comfortable and even reclines. I did like that they had a huge women's bathroom and was able to accommodate almost everyone when the movie was done. That's a huge plus for me! Although they can work on making sure it gets cleaned more often. Having toilet paper and trash everywhere is a bit discouraging (I'm being nice with my choice of words, but they really need to work on that.) We personally liked the movie and was about to cry multiple dozen times. A lot of people were hating on the CGI, but frankly you get used to it after the first few minutes. I like this place. I like that they have lots of rooms with various size of "screens" I like that they have a wider selection of food than some places that just have popcorn and drinks. They also have a kids combo which is my FAVE. Brings regular sized popcorn (like the size of the ones you microwave at home) a drink and a can Some cons are that they have long lines at the concession stands and they're pricey. I went to watch toys story yesterday at 9:15. I had to rush my dinner with my family , and i left very early thinking that the movie will start on time. I had 2 free tickets from the manger because i had already bad experience with them. Amc again delay the time of the movie and the screen will turn black for 25 minutes! Let's be honest, Tyson's Corner, always and probably will always have the most movie selections available. They also conveniently show a lot more times than most theaters. If you miss one show another one is likely to be coming on in the next half an hour or so. While they don't offer the most up to date seats, renovated concessions stands or walk ways they do offer convenience. Tyson's has always been my go to even while living in Maryland. I'm just so used to it! I don't know how new this is but instead of actual tickets now you can just show the ticket taker a barcode on your phone. If your party isn't all there you can screen shot the barcode and send it to them so they can be scanned later. Pretty cool. I also like that it is located in the food court! You can grab food before or after your movie! There is also parking right outside which is my go to Tyson's parking anyways. While sometimes it is full I usually luck out and find a space. read more

Staff is always pretty friendly and provide quick service. The popcorn is good even by movie theater standards but the soda fountains have been out of syrup a few times. The bathrooms always seem to be dirty have toilets out of order. Parking is copious here too, I've never had to walk very far from my spot. read more

Finally got to see Spiderman: No Way home and I am so happy I came to this theater to see it! My boyfriend and I waited it out for a while to avoid most of the crowds because of COVID. We did a 7PM showing on a Sunday, so the crowds were minimal, and the parking was easy and free. Once inside, we were greeted, scanned our tickets, and purchased snacks. Being that we waited so long to see it, my boyfriend treated us to the "Dolby Cinema" tickets and it was totally worth it! The screen was clear, the surround sound was spectacular, AND the seats reclined in this specific theater room. Perfect, Sunday funday date night! I will be back for the matinee soon! read more

Upsides: multiple theaters, always has the current and most up-to-date movies, inside the large Tyson's Corner I complex just by the food court so grabbing a bite to eat or window shopping while waiting is super convenient (as is parking, mostly, so long as you're willing to stroll). Downsides: super crowded with lots of teenagers and kids (which is fine, just adds a bit more chaos), the ticket situation between the box office and the kiosks are kind of confusing, and thus place hadn't been upgraded in a REALLY REALLY long time. read more

I've been a member of the AMC A List for about a year so go here frequently but recently have been debating canceling. I watched Godzilla x Kong a couple weeks ago which was being shown in one of the standard theaters and my brother and I sat in the F section. I saw a freaking mouse (or it could've been a rat). It ran under the chairs in front of us really fast so I just saw it's back end and tail so I don't know which it was but it freaked me out and I was uncomfortable during the whole film. Besides that, this theater has been pretty gross for a while now. The seats in all of the standard theaters are disgusting and need to either be deep cleaned or replaced. The concession stand is always a mess and they've run out of popcorn several times we were there and there was a wait. My friends and I saw a movie in one of the Dolby theaters and my friend's chair did not recline. Luckily no one was next to us so we just moved one seat over. Other than that the Dolby experience is fantastic. The IMAX experience is also fantastic. Those are the only reasons why I haven't canceled my AMC card yet because it's about $22 a month and an IMAX movie costs about that much. The Dolby and IMAX are the only reasons to go here. Otherwise it feels like you're in third class on the Titanic. read more

During this rainy weekend, my partner and I decided to take in a movie. The new Jumanji 2 movie was playing so we got tickets for the Dolby Digital experience. I have never experienced this prior so I'm happy to give my first reaction. The movie was crisp and the audio was amazing ! The way the audio moves along with the movie really create a spectacular experience! Unfortunately, the lack of personal room was a problem. In a theater this large, located in a very busy shopping mall, they should account for space among the seats. There's little to absolutely no room to place your bags or personal belongings. The seats are my favorite part because they adjust to the perfect angel for you to lay back and enjoy the show. read more

O. M. G. Just watched The Magnificent Seven in the Dolby Cinema. I now can never go back to a regular theater! Positives: Reserve your seats in advance. Tall walls between rows so no one can bump into your seats. Rows are wide apart so there is plenty of leg room. Incline between rows is steep enough that I have no trouble seeing over people's heads. The seating is plush, roomy and reclines at the perfect angle. Sound is so remarkable that even the chairs vibrate during certain scenes and you feel like you're there. Negatives: Ticket price is steep at $20.49 each but you are going for the experience. Seats are so comfortable you could fall asleep. read more

Reserved seats but they were old, fabric, stained and not the spacious leather ones that I expected of Tyson's. Parking for the theatre is on the 6th floor and going up is a little annoying. The hubs and I usually trek up to NYC, as we have both have our favorite IMAX and independent theaters to see movies at. However, I'm super impressed with the new Dolby Cinema! There's reserved recliners that are soft and comfortable, each aisle is separated with a higher 'wall' (so that there are no worries of people resting their gross feet in between your armchairs or on top of your seat!), the images are crisp and clear, and the moving audio is of a great turned-up volume to really immerse yourself in the movie. The aisles and the seat numbers are 'labeled' with lit-up numbers, and the theater room itself is kept well. A great option to watch movies that are not shot in IMAX but still being able to get that nice quality of the image/sound system! +Dolby Cinema ;D +reserved reclining chairs! +dividers between each aisles! +moving audio +crisp images read more

The seats are filthy. It's been awhile since I've been to the theaters at Tyson's Corner Mall. And it seems like nothing's changed in the twenty years since I've been here. Or that they've cleaned since then. Literally. Aside from the fact that most legit movie theaters in 2018 are outfitted with large, comfortable, electronically reclining seats (which AMC Tyson's still doesn't provide for your generously-priced $15 to $20 movie ticket), I just want to be able to sit down on a chair. Without feeling like I just sat down on ground up candy, greasy oil stains on the headrest (a la Coming to America's Soul Glo), undefined crud on the armrests, or people's bitten fingernails (yes I found one on my seat before I sat down). Disgusting. Not coming back -- until you get your theater a makeover (call Chip and Joanna) and pay a cleaning staff to actually clean after every show (just like real movie theaters). read more

If the movie that you want to see is playing at AMC, go ahead and see it! There's nothing to recommend this place, though, which will provide a prototypical chain movie experience in a multiplex that is starting to show its age. This theater is located at the top of the mall, which is kind of convenient in that there are some pre and post-movie options for dining/distraction. But the Tyson's mall is kind of its own little traffic jam, so parking can be a bit of a chore during most times that you are likely to see a movie. The most convenient spots are in "Garage E," which is by Eddie V's and Barrel & Bushel. No matter the time, you will likely find yourself fighting through the mall crowd. The food court, which is where the movie theater entrance is located, features a children's play area and children's "train" that, more often than not, ensures a frenetic greeting. You can reserve seats in advance and buy tickets online, which is nice. A typical non-3d movie for two will set you back $32.68 (includes $3.50 in "convenience fees" for online booking). You can save a few bucks and buy tickets at the venue (which you will likely do through a self-serve kiosk). For that not exactly bargain price, you will find a moderately dated theater that feels pretty much like any large cineplex from the early 2000s. It's moderately dirty, the food is noticeably poor and overpriced, and the seats aren't particularly comfortable. That said, you'll get a fine movie experience, just not a very good one. For the same price, I'd prefer the nearby Angelika Film Center Mosaic, about 2 miles south on off of Gallows Rd. It's not any cheaper, but it's certainly a nicer venue in which to see a movie. And you won't fight nearly as large a crowd as you will find in the mall. read more

Movie theater located on the third floor of Tysons Corner mall. Tickets for 4 people for a regular movie came out to be about $53. Movie prices these days...sheesh. Anyways, the theaters are "cleaned" after each movie but it's a rush job. There's still food on the floors and chairs are not wiped down. They don't have reclining chairs but the chairs are pretty comfy. It's in a very convenient location and has some pretty decent times for movies. It also plays the most recent, updated movies. It does have a lot of better competitors in the Northern VA area with reclinable seats. However, you can still reserve seats online before the movie! So, make sure to do that to get some good seats! Overall, would come here again. Super convenient movie times and location. read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Before we even entered the theater the boy out front who takes tickets was very unfriendly and showed 0 customer service skills. After we walk into the theater and come to find that ALL of the seats and arm rest were ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. They were all brown and black filled with only god knows what. The company can at least have the decency to steam clean the chairs if they're charging so much for tickets. Never coming here again. read more

Went to watch orphans the first kill tonight. Filthy' crowed' and movie wasn't clear. The movie was super blurry! We were in theater 6. Teenagers running all over the place. Coming in and out of the theaters they weren't originally in. Normally I thought they had people who would come walk around before the movie starts. The kids running around yelling into the theater while the movie was playing. Screaming I hate this F'n movie. Flashing lights. Like where is the security? I tell ya. Movie theaters are becoming like airports. Yeah yeah not just because of security. But also because of the loop-around lines. The bathroom rush. The creeping restaurant shops inside. And everyone's emotions are high. Oh boy. Well the Tysons theater is the pinnacle of all that like wrapped up in a burrito. The worst of all is the parking. It takes a real life miracle to find parking the overcrowded parking garages. Plan at least 30 minutes to park and walk. And then another 20 minutes for tickets and snacks. So yeah. The cinema is very clean, but unfortunately the old man standing in front of him to check the ticket is very complicated and he does not trust the fathers or the mothers and does not respect them who have come to the cinema to bring joy and happiness in the hearts of their children. I bought the tickets and want to go inside to buy a snack for my kids and guide them to the cinema door and exit, he showed me a very strange reaction he said no no. And when I gave him tickets and he was distracted and said to me you should give tickets to everyone, I was surprised by his request and when my daughter gave him the ticket and stood at the checkpoint line, he kind of screamed at her and forced her to stand in front of him, really he is a complicated person and raises blood pressure. It is very strange what kind of people are employed, no respect or trust for parents, and in my notification, and he told me to give the wallet of money to my children, so I was amazed at his response. And I wonder if there are still this kind of people in the world, at least they should be trained in humanity and compassion for parents who have children. This is a pre-pandemic review. I've visited the AMC in Tysons Corner several times, most recently in early 2020. The movie theater is clean, large, and has some great food and beverage options. The most recent movie I've watched at this theater was Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. My friends and I really enjoyed this theater -- tickets are easy to get (at the front) and there are two sets of bathrooms. No complaints at all about this theater. I will definitely visit again (post-pandemic). read more

I'm giving five stars because SERVICE. The theater had an efficient patron entry process (especially for those that had advanced tickets). I saw people from desk personnel to floor sweepers moving with hustle and purpose. The concession stand moved swiftly enough and we were able to find all the options we wanted. Most importantly...SOMEBODY dropped their phone in the theater (**cough** my wife **cough**). I still had our ticket on my wallet app. We quickly explained our request to go back and check the venue and everyone was very helpful. Was it a small kindness? Yes. Did it matter to us? You bet!! How does this AMC not have recliner seats? I expect a certain quality at Tyson and especially AMC, and I was disappointed. The seats were dirty. Not just one seat, but most of the seats were covered with a layer of dirt. I have attached pictures so you can judge for yourself. I was shocked at how dirty the seats were. Seriously, these seats need to be replaced or cleaned. Courthouse or even Springfield Mall has the nice recliner seats so why is Tyson so far behind? The screen is decent, but if I am going to pay $14.59 I want a clean seat. They have a $1 student discount so that's nice, but you have to show your card. Also, please note you have to pick your seats in advance so don't pick M11 in theater 9. If you want to impress a date pick another theater. I have been to other updated movie theaters in the Northern Virginia area but this one was disappointing. First off, I believe this may be a AMC "rule" because of covid, but I got stopped because I had my metal water bottle and was told I can't bring it in? honestly doesn't really make sense but ok? Movie theaters were closed for over a year due to covid. You would think throughout that time they would at least make the facility clean, or add some upgrades of some sort. This theater is dank. The seats look like they haven't been cleaned since it opened in the early 2000's, definitely years of grease stains, and coke spills.... Like come on, y'all need updated non-fabric theater seats... its 2021 not 2003. The popcorn wasn't fresh and was stale. Anyways I recommend you spend your money elsewhere, find a updated theater and stay away from this dank one. read more

The theater is ALWAYS crowded. It's ridiculous. Even on a Thursday afternoon 1 pm showing, the theater is almost completely full. Came to see Jumanji at 1:15 pm, about 45 minutes before then we bought tickets and we got seats all the way in the back because everything was basically taken. It's mind boggling that Jumanji came out just last week, yet they only have 3 showings during the whole day. Worst scheduling ever. The theaters are always disguisting. The floors are littered with napkins, crumbs, and and trash. They say that they're cleaning the theater before we walk in, yet nobody is in there. And there is trash everywhere. We got a large soda and were happy they had the touch screen Coke machines. Unfortunately a lot of the sodas were out and most of it was flat. Out of all their touch screen soda machines, most of the sodas were weirdly flat. They've also changed the paper towels in the bathroom. I don't know if they're trying to save money, but they replaced the paper towels with napkins now. It's ridiculous. So instead of just using a couple of paper towels, you're forced to take out 40 napkins (because they're not meant to be in the dispensers and are so tight, it's the only way to get it out) and wipe your hands with napkins that are flimsy and disintegrate not too long afterwards. Do yourself a favor and go to another theater where you won't have to deal with the crowds and trash. read more

This theater is one of the nicer ones in the area and always crowded. I had to use the ticket line because I had passes. However, I do enjoy using the automated ticket line since it is so much easier and faster. Food and drinks are always expensive at the movies so I never buy any of that. Inside the chairs are very roomie. I could fit myself and my large purse in my seat. It was the right sound level. My only real complaint was waiting 25 minutes to see the movie because of previews/commercials. So if you want to see the 1:35 showing just show up at 2pm and it will be just starting (this is what happened to me). Also I had to deduct a star due to the prices. I do know that all movies theaters are expensive now a days. So if I had to see a movie I would come here since at least you get better quality for the price. read more

I had a bag that had food. from a nice restaurant, leftovers more than the entire ticket to AM&C I wasn't even eating, but wasn't saving itfor later and she's says I can't bring it in. I got the food at the restaurant in the mall that she works at... It's Christmas and I'm here with family and I'm alone by myself trying to get a movie in to do a review because that's what I do for my work, and this little lady has a power trip She's is really Tikki tack and #Tacky... She also as I have been told by the people coming out of the theater who come here regularly that she closes the concessions early extra early and the food isn't good and undercooked that came from two people I've talked to in lobby,... She's obnoxious and mean and no one likes her.... Such an awful experience, especially coming to Los Angeles where you go to universal STUDIOS (AMAZING) and everything is great!!!... Disgusting. My daughter and I went to see a matinee viewing of Star Wars on a Wednesday afternoon at 1:30pm. When we got to out seats, after dodging spilled popcorn and soft drinks, there was a piece of gum stuck on the top of my cup holder and a sticky floor under my seat. I get it, the theater employees aren't the ones doing this. The nasty patrons who feel they need to use the floor as their trash can bear the majority of the responsibility. Its such a high end mall with expensive stores and all that but the movie theater can't even afford a cleaning crew nor good seats? The upholstery on the seats are covered in black when its original color is red. Probably the black stuff contains dirt, heavy dust, grime, sweat or whatever disgusting substance there is. Almost every mall around Northern Virginia has a reclining leather seats but this mall still has a 1990's seating. Absolutely atrocious.
