It had been more than a year since I was last at Entyse, and my return was occasioned by a friend's coming to town and deciding to stay at the Ritz Carlton. I had not seen this dear friend for over a year and so we met in the lobby and decided to just "stay in" and enjoy Entyse. From the moment the extremely gracious host seated us--after asking several questions about our preferences--to our departure four hours later, it was a really great evening. Narciso, who took care of us, was just fantastic--kind, funny, polite, and just the right amount of attentive. When we mentioned it was a little bit of a reunion for us, he immediately moved to make the evening special. Extra this and extra that started showing up at the table. The wine pours were so generous we joked we would have to stay for hours. A gorgeous dessert showed up out of the blue with Narciso smiling behind it. When we asked how long he had been with the Ritz and he told us at least two decades, we were not surprised, given his professional grace and ease. All told, it was a very memorable evening and it certainly will not be another year before we return. Thank you. read more

I was upgraded to a refurbished room with a refreshed bathroom. It was nice with beautiful tiles. The room was spacious and clean. I went to entyce for dinner and breakfast. During dinner, there was live music which created a nice ambiance. I ordered the half roast chicken and chicken Bryani. The half roast chicken was disappointing. The breast was dry and flavorless. The bed of corn and beans reminds me of something you pull from the freezer. The chicken bryani could use more seasoning and spices. Dinner menu seems to be the same as the dinner menu from last year. Breakfast we ordered the chicken and waffles and also the lobster eggs Benedict. The chicken and waffle was cooked fresh. Chicken crispy and juicy. Waffle fluffy. The lobster Benedict was a let down. Eggs were cooked nicely but the lobster bits were mushy. High tea bridal shower. I cannot say enough of how amazing the high tea is at the Ritz Carlton. I hosted a bridal shower this past Saturday, January 10 and everything was impeccable from the amazing customer service to the delicious petite sandwiches, desserts, and more. A big shout out to Astrid Mr. Ray and Mr. Hariharan. They made every step of the way easy from planning the party to the last second of packing things up. They are truly shining stars. Everything was so beautiful with elegance and finesse. if you can have a bridal shower here during the high tea, I highly recommend it as this is the second time hosting here. Thanks to my fantastic boyfriend, I've found a new place to love. This place was magical! The staff were very professional, warm, and attentive. The pianist swept you off your feet as she played back to back hits. What a romantic addition to the stunning decor and ambiance that this restaurant and hotel created. We sat in the bar area, no reservations needed. Drinks: I had to try their espresso martini after reviews that it was the best around...well, let's just say that the reviews aren't wrong! The espresso was brewed strong and the liquor pairing was perfect. 10/10 easily! My boyfriend's drink of choice was the Port of Angel's envy and he raved about how excellent the Angel's Envy bourbon was, said it was worth taking a bottle home. 10/10 Bar bites: I ordered what I called "girl dinner" lol the caviar & shrimp toast, which I can best describe as AMAZING! A perfect 10/10 My boyfriend ordered the crab cake sliders which came with a side of fries and honey, those crab cakes were DELISH! Perfect 10/10 The fries had a hint of truffle oil on it, making them even more addictive. We had a wonderful experience during our visit. All of the staff were great and we found the restaurant to feel warm and inviting. We had drinks and a charcuterie board for a late lunch and then after returning to the hotel we heard live music and decided to stop in for a nightcap. We were able to sit at the bar and enjoy the live music and watching all the delicious drinks being made. It was crowded so the bartenders were very busy but served us quickly and were very nice. Loved the food and service here! Food is pricey, but I anticipated that due to it being at the Ritz Carlton. I enjoyed the juices (carrot ginger and pineapple kale) as well as all the food we ordered. The chicken and waffles were cooked well and the chicken had lots of flavor. The eggs benedict with Maine lobster was definitely the standout dish for me. Service was very friendly and attentive. Parking is a pain since it's a paid garage. As much as I did enjoy my experience, I don't think it's worth it unless you are already in the general area (either staying at the hotel or shopping at the galleria). read more

This is the one and only bar/restaurant in the hotel and thank goodness it's a very good one! We only had breakfast and it was very good. Try the frittata it was very taste and a great breakfast dish. It can be very pricey but if you don't order everything it's a great place to treat yourself! The service was very friendly and did a great job in making recommendations and making you feel special. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance from the furniture to the dishes. This is typical hotel food. It's not good, but it's also not bad. It's just conveniently located in the hotel lobby. Every time we come, there's an issue because we're a big party. Usually we have from 8 to 10 people with us. The problem is seating. They always want us to sit on the high tables instead of the low rectangular tables. And if we come during close to tea time, a big section of the restaurant will be closed out. You can't go wrong with the truffle fries and the lobster Benedict! The staff always judge me when I order the Benedict because I ask for it without veggies. I'm not a veggie eater, and I've had it before, but the staff always say it won't be good, but I know my tastebuds and it's fine for me. I visit Entyse once every few months, and it never disappoints. Great ambience, the cocktails are exceptional, each crafted with precision and creativity. The food is equally impressive, offering a delightful range of flavors that perfectly complement the drinks. The service is excellent, with attentive and friendly staff. The management is close minded. I asked to exchange a gift certificate of Tea for four for two certificates of tea for two. He did not see the big picture which would've resulted in more business blamed the accounting department. I asked to speak to somebody higher. He absolutely refused after making us wait for over 20 minutes to talk to him. This place needs better management as well as communication. As a manager, you should be able to make a simple decision and see the big picture of added business. Make the decision to accommodate a client and explain to the accounting department later. I would recommend finding management with better people skills. read more

You wouldn't think a meal that started off by getting frisked by the Secret Service would end up being that great, but that just goes to show you. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here for dinner the Saturday before the Inauguration. Our Airbnb happened to be in this area, which at first glance seemed pretty desolate and geared toward weekday office traffic more so than a hopping night scene, but it turned out to have a few decent eating options. This one was located in the Ritz (literally), a 10-minute walk for us. It was pretty easy to find though it WAS odd to have to take our coats off and walk through a metal detector. We never found out who was staying there who required the SS presence, but Trump was having an event nearby so it literally could have been anyone other than Hillary Clinton. It will remain a mystery. Every adjective you're thinking of regarding a potential restaurant in the Ritz? You're right. Picture those. Very high end, very bougie. We weren't wearing sweats but were probably underdressed. It seemed though like there were a lot of other out-of-towners dressed in jeans and decent tops so no issues there. It was pretty busy when we got in (definitely a later dinner for me but I'm guessing it was 8ish? Perilously close to my bedtime) though we were almost immediately seated at a table off to the right of the entrance. We didn't have much of a view of the bar area but it seemed pretty raucous. Maybe the mystery Secret Service party was there? Alright. Moving on. We went hardcore with the cocktail selection and both got the Port of Angel's Envy ($38; I know, I know), which ended up being an upper class spin on an Old Fashioned. Absolutely delicious - they nailed it. One big takeaway from this weekend is that Angel's Envy might be my go-to bourbon going forward; it's very smooth and the variations I had over the course of the weekend ended up being fruit-forward, which I like on a personal palate level. I'm having trouble coming up with another scenario where I would readily go, 'Yes, of course I'll have another $38 cocktail,' but that happened here. Huge, huge fan and it was a special occasion so I didn't lose any sleep over this. Guess what else was fantastic? Literally everything else. We split the Grilled Octopus app ($25), which came with lightly fried tostones. Honestly the best octopus I've ever had. Super flavorful and this is a food I think where texture ends up being very important. It was cooked perfectly and not rubbery in the slightest. Entree-wise, if I hadn't accidentally had short ribs the night before that's probably what I would have ended up getting. Everything happens for a reason though and I opted for the Venison ($54). Also the best venison I've ever had. I don't think a lot of places really know what to do with it since it's JUST different enough from beef where you can't cook/prepare it the same way so I usually end up eating it in stick form where they can't mess around with it too much. This was awesome though. You can see from the accompanying picture that it was cooked close to rare, and that was for sure the right call - made it juicier and tastier. Deer never get high class treatment like this and frankly I'm not sure they deserve it. My chum got the Pan Seared Diver Scallops ($49), a dish she's gotten quite a few times in my presence. This was the first instance where she did so and gave universal acclaim. I tried one and was honestly blown away. Scallops are pretty hit or miss for me but these were great and very fresh. The service was perfect from beginning to end. I think our waiter comped one of our bottles of water, which was nice, and was around pretty consistently but not overwhelmingly so. It was a busy night and he struck the right balance there. You can't ask for more than that. This wasn't cheap by any means but I don't think anyone is going to be shocked to hear that when you're wandering into the Ritz. We were both enormously impressed by every part of this experience and I wouldn't hesitate to come back. MAYbe I hit the ATM first though. read more

It was a Saturday night, so pretty busy and they had live music. We were seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken quickly, and then the server brought almonds, olives, bread and butter. All good. Drink prices were high - hotels always are so cocktails ranged $18-20. However the food prices were quite reasonable and the food was good! We had the lobster fusilli for dinner and really enjoyed it! The flavors were on point and merged together and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Good amount of fresh lobster meat. LOBSTER FUSILI PASTA $25 - Fusilli pasta, Maine lobster, Rapini, chili, tomatoes, fresh parsley. Service was very good. Water was refiled as needed and they check on you throughout to see if all is well. Very convenient as well. It is a small menu, but what they have is good. I've come here for afternoon tea twice now and it's a lovely experience. The first time I came was in late May and we were celebrating graduation season. I wrote it in my reservation notes and it was never acknowledged. No biggie -- we had a lovely time. The tea is phenomenal and the treats are lovely. We did the Royal Tea (includes a glass of champagne and strawberries in cream) for an additional $11. This is a better deal than getting a glass of bubbly a la carte for an additional $12. When we came in May we had exceptional service on a busy Saturday afternoon. However, when we returned to celebrate my mother's birthday in July we had sub par service and they once again failed to fully recognize her birthday. They waited so long to bring out her strawberries with a birthday candle that the pianist went on break and then just had us waiting around with nothing to eat while they waited for him to come back and play Happy Birthday on the piano. I finally convinced them it wasn't worth waiting any longer and they brought the strawberries and she blew out her candle. I'd probably go back, but the second visit has left me very willing to try other spots that offer afternoon tea. There are certainly enough places in the area that do. read more

A fine establishment with exceptional service, quality of ingredients, concept and execution of dishes, diversity and amalgamation of influences in dishes, and ambiance. My main qualm is that the flavor and seasoning is not always strong enough in each dish; and while execution is consistent and upper tier, there is little that elevates and distinguishes a dish, relative to peers; or that may make a dish unforgettable. All in all, there are no weak offerings here that greatly tether downward; every dish garners between a 3.85 to 4.25. Even the complimentary pre-dinner bread is delicious and slightly different. As someone who stayed at the hotel while dining here, I was quite annoyed at advertisements of specific items or offerings on certain days or times. Yes, I understand the intent of such; but the logic is elusive if not befuddling; and is frustrating if you are fascinated by an item which you cannot enjoy. Are guests supposed to extend their stay for a tempting dish? "A different special awaits each evening," or "check back with us for different offerings nightly," would be more considerate and less inducing of post-hoc dread in hotel and restaurant clientele; as opposed to "so-and-so night in Japanese night; come and try our sushi & tempura!" As a Japanese food fan, that hits hard, fellers. The prices, while okay, are not exceptional; but for a luxury product at a luxury hotel, are not bad at all. Happy Hours or prix fixe offerings may also be ideal. As it stands, the place is great for meeting people you already intend to meet. It is, however, under-utilized as a place to meet new people. While the layout is opportune for such, I would tender my recommendation to better employ resources for that purpose. Having had breakfast and dinner here, I will say my rating is shared; and expresses satisfaction with both. I must hammer this point to no end, as lack of consistency is sometimes an issue at hotel restaurants. My foremost management complaint comes in the form of the reservation and seating system, which can be quite awkward and disjointed. While I was happy to receive a table at the last minute when I had previously not had one, I was told to wait a few hours; only to then be summoned minutes later, after I had informed other people I intended to meet a later time that I would be en route to see them earlier than anticipated. As to how to fix this issue, I defer my recommendations to staff expertise. read more

The service was EXCELLENT.. very attentive but not intrusive. Nice atmosphere with live music. Breakfast did not disappoint either. Honestly not really sure what the hype was for this place because the food and service were definitely on PAR with what you would expect at a nice restaurant, especially one that is associated with such a high end hotel. The ONLY saving grace were the cocktails but even then seemed a little over priced. The menu offers unique cocktails that featured ingredients like eucalyptus and rosemary so those are a must try. They also have your standard cocktails so there is definitely something for everyone. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the decor is welcoming which usually adds to a great experience. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow (waited over 30 mins to order and 30 mins to get the check) and when it comes to the food, I couldn't really tailor any of the entrees almost as if they were premade. I originally wanted to try the chicken biriyani but wanted to alter the spice level because the waiter had warned me that the entree was really spicy. After learning that I couldn't alter the spice level, I went with the braised beef short rib which I thought would be a safe option. The meat was not very tender and bland and the mash potatoes and broccolini was also very bland. We also got the pasta with lobster and again it had little to no flavor. We couldn't finish either entree which is rare because we are big eaters. The highlight of the night when it comes to food was the Ceasar salad. It was dressed pretty well with big croutons, Cheese, and dressing and the veggies were crisp. The tomatoes were an unusual addition but it worked. This is an okay option if you are looking for a drink but I'd pass on the food for sure. read more

Overall pleasant...*almost* very good. Sat at the bar for drinks and a light lunch. The food was very, very good: fries light and crispy, not too thick, skin-on which I love, and the accompanying aioli was truffle-y and salty. Yum! The smoked salmon exceeded expectations. It arrived as a deconstructed bagel with a generous serving of salmon and the toppings nicely arranged separately. The bagel was toasted nicely, but I wished for everything or onion toppings...does anyone eat a plain bagel? Arugula salad fresh and appealingly dressed with crunchy, fresh cucumber chunks. Both dishes featured genuinely delicious tomatoes--if not farm-grown, they sure tasted that way. A rare pleasure. Where things fell down was the service. We waited a long time at every stage despite the bar being never more than half full. Even water refills had to be politely requested. The server asked me how I wanted my salmon cooked--they thought it was the Brunch menu--and our cocktails were slow to show. The cocktails were generally good. Entyse isn't alone in the sin of giant ice balls in drinks. I'm not sure anyone really likes them. The drinks we ordered with bitters, or bitter liquors such as Aperol, arrived tasting astringent and needing a few minutes to mix with the ice. There's a reason almost every cocktail on earth is made with a smaller form of ice cubes; the liquors often need a bit of softening to mix well and present a smooth taste. Minorly irritating: the menus state that smartphone conversations at the bar are a no-no, but some guy was yammering away on his tablet a few seats down from us without any staff mentioning anything. Overall, the kitchen's doing great, but the bar and the service need to step up. I would revisit but certainly never at a busier time. read more

First, it was not priced as high as I had feared (would have been a taxi or the equally pricy places in the bushy mall next door). Hotel restaurant/bar it was. 1) Really great service 2) Good food 3) Great atmosphere 4) Convenience It hit all my marks. My husband and I stayed overnight at the Ritz and grabbed dinner at Entyse. The good = nice ambiance with live music. Everything looked clean and felt trendy. The service was also good. Not necessarily memorable but our waiter was attentive and when I didn't like one of the wines I picked out, he gave me no fuss and sent it back. He was nice. The mid/meh = food. The best bite of the night was the Korean bao buns we had as a started followed by the shrimp caviar toast. Highly recommend both. However our meals went down hill from there. I ordered the risotto which tasted very plain. Risotto should have a depth of flavor and be warm and savory. Mine felt like someone microwaved some barely, frozen asparagus, and sweet potato with a whisper of Parmesan. My husband ordered the miso cod and while it did have better flavor it was interrupted by a strong fishy taste. Dessert was also a let down. We got the apple cobbler and the s'mores cheesecake and they both didn't feel like the flavor profiles were well incorporated. What I mean to say is that the s'more cheesecake, for example, was just a plain cheese cake with some chocolate syrup and graham cracker dust sprinkled on it. It was not baked or made with those elements built in. Overall, I'd say to stick with the bar menu bites and wine - those will be fine. Noise was average, service was great. The drinks and board were fine not my favorite, but the quality was definitely there. I believe that the only reason why this place is in business is because it is connected to the ritz and it gives guest the social validation that they are somebody/ they can flex. It is tucked in the ritz and if you are entering from the Galleria it would be where Cartiers entrance used to be. The restaurant is put together but the band that was there was so loud I could barely hear my server, I am also not geriatric old so I'd like to think I have pretty good hearing. The food is horrendous. I got a lobster pasta and it came out like soup which was very confusing. On taste it was 0/5 I ate it because I was famished from shopping all day and all the other restaurants had a 30-40 minute wait. I usually order quite a few things when I go out to try a place but I did not here. I did end up getting an espresso for dessert and I said to myself "this taste like a nespresso" come to find out they served me a nespresso. At this point I'm just over it. read more

Attended afternoon tea here and it was a delight! The Entyse lounge is located inside the Ritz Carlton in Tysons Galleria. Reservations can be made through their phone line and your call is typically returned within a business day to confirm your reservation. There are two seatings on Saturdays and Sundays for afternoon tea, 12pm and 3:30pm. The high tea menu is extensive and is separated by classic black, scented black, white, green, and herbal and infusion teas. Each person gets a full pot with different sugars (white cubed and brown sugar) and there's more than enough to share! The Darjeeling was super strong (I was wired for the rest of the day!) but my personal favorite was the Night in Versailles, which was a green tea blend with fruity undertones. With each seating, there's an assortment of sandwiches served along with desserts afterward. The menu seems to change seasonally. We opted for the upgraded package which included strawberries and cream and a glass of champagne. We were so full afterwards! To go boxes were also offered for the items that we weren't able to finish. The service was friendly and attentive. Every other table was sat for social distancing purposes and masks were worn by all of the staff. This was a fun, different experience and I'd love to come back again! read more

I am glad ritz carlton is back in business, I used to love their DC location for the flamenco band. When I found out they were now playing at the Ritz Tyson's, I made my was on the same day. The band is still good, but it wasn't the same band that used to play in DC pre-covid. It wasn't as lively, but still a great band. 1. Food: was okay, 3 stars. This is one of the most disappointing thing about the Ritz, given its rank and stance, one would expect a better restaurant and food from them, but they don't. The taco - it is edible and pleasant, but nothing compared to say, Taco Bamba, but just imagine the price difference. The lava chocolate was a bit too much, too rich, didn't really hit the right balance (unlike L'Aubergene, which is perfect) but still pleasant. 2. Drinks: get good wine here, their cocktails have always been barely so-so and it was still the same after 3 years. 3. Service: BAD. Like why? Again, one expects way better service from the Ritz. This isn't Holiday Inn, but it is bad. When I asked if the sushi still available at this hour, he said with a tone and attitude that screams like duh when he replied 'of course'. Guess what? I order one and waited 10 mins, only to be told the sushi chef doesn't even come on Fridays. How come the server has no idea? Remember I even checked with him before? Am not asking for one of the items on the menu, but something as dramatic as a chef don't even come at all day? I don't see myself coming back here and if do, it will be for the band, but never the service and don't ever eat here, and don't order cocktails, just get well known wine and enjoy the show and get out. read more

My neighborhood bar. I've been coming to the Entyse lounge (located at the Ritz's in Tyson Corner) for almost 7 years. It's a cozy spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. On occasions they'll have a jazz band or pianist. Mostly on Friday and Saturday. I keep coming back because of the Staff. All of the staff members have been here for 10-25+ years. Which speaks volumes. The service is top notch like no other. You'll feel like a super-star here. With the pandemic they are super clean with COVID guidelines. My girlfriend and I get together once every couple of months just to catch up over cocktails and good food so we decided on giving ENTYSE a shot since she was in the Tyson's area and the pics from reviews peaked our interest. This Wine Bar / Lounge is located in The Ritz Carlton which is attached to Tyson's Galleria and I said I would park in the hotel garage as opposed to the mall parking lot for my own sanity given that it is holiday time ... WELP, the hotel garage, while not as crazy bc of the number of cars fighting over parking spots, there is a need for creating much more clear signage regarding which floors to park on for hotel access without a hotel key and for the lounge itself. It was quite the adventure finding the right floor to park on, getting into the hotel and finding ENTYSE. After finally finding the joint, upon walking in to the bar side entrance I was underwhelmed and overwhelmed at the same time. Underwhelmed by the ambiance not looking like the pics at all and overwhelmed by the bright hospital like lighting lol. The good news - the bartenders / mixologists are top tier! My Cosmo and my friend's Manhattan were both delicious, packed a punch and absolutely pretty! The not so good news - the food. We ordered truffle fries as a snack while we were enjoying our cocktails and they were delightful however the entrees and dessert were mediocre at best. The Pad Thai had more bean sprouts and tofu than noodles and crab, the pappardelle was a bit too oily and flavorless and the "lemon" tart .... we missed that lemon was in quotations and were surprised when we were served a tart that I coined as the "IKEA" tart bc it looked like we had to assemble it ourself (which in the description it didn't mention it was deconstructed) and there was literally only whispers of lemon flavor and to this day we still have no idea what the citrus fruit was that was on the plate bc it certainly wasn't lemon. Extremely expensive for the quality of food. $90 for breakfast is insane. We had an omelet, croissant, and coffee.

Hubby & I stayed one night at the Ritz & got breakfast here the following morning. It was a busy morning but we were immediately seated. I got the Virginian breakfast which was absolutely delicious. There was a generous amount of crab & everything about this dish was perfection - from the fluffy yet crispy English muffin to the perfectly poached egg. Hubby got the smoked salmon breakfast with an everything bagel which he loved. They definitely didn't skimp on the smoked salmon! Service was exceptional as well. They kept the coffee & water pouring in our cups. We will definitely be back! read more

Terrible service. They completely ignored us. We arrived yesterday at 2:20 pm at the bar entrance and stood waiting to be seated. The bar was probably at 1/2 capacity with at least 10 servers and bartenders. We stood in the doorway for maybe 10 minutes. Finally we went around the corner and noticed the greeter and we were seated and at the bar and the bartenders and waiters continued to ignore us. So we waited 5 more minutes and we got up and left. I have no idea how a place with such bad service stays in business. Save your time and money for a place that appreciates your business. read more
