    Chicken Shawarma Plate
    Michelle L.

This place is bomb! I would have to say this is now my and my family's favorite Mediterranean restaurant. It is located in a small plaza but the inside is roomy and cozy. You order at the front and then seat yourself, and the staff were very nice and answered all our questions as there were some new items we were not familiar with. We ordered the combo special plate (one beef and one chicken skewer), shish Taouk (chicken skewers), shakshuka, chicken shawarma plate, veggie combo tapas plate, and homemade lemonade between a family of four. The food took at least 10 minutes to prepare but everything was made fresh. The homemade lemonade was mixed with a ton of mint, and it ended up tasting more minty than lemonadey; I give it a 5 out of 5. Chicken Shwarma - the chicken was the best marinated chicken I've had at a Mediterranean restaurant thus far, and I've gone to many. The salad, rice, and hummus were also very good. 5 out of 5. Shakshuka - The portion was on the smaller side but it was full of flavor and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Came with four pieces of pickle, which paired well with the shakshuka. 5 out of 5. Shish Taouk - This was new to me and the chicken skewer/kabob was seasoned perfectly and juicy off the skewer. Not a hint of dryness whatsoever, and it tasted so good with the tzatziki sauce. 5 out of 5. Veggie Combo Tapas Plate - came with baba ganoush, hummus, tabbouleh, Mediterranean salad, and falafel. Portion great for sharing. Everything tasted delicious and my husband, who struggles with GERD, said he did not have a reaction after eating and of these (especially the hummus). 5 out of 5. The service was great; the employee always checked up on us and got us sauces and drinks. Bathroom was clean, and there were quite a few folks coming in (this is a good sign). We will definitely be coming back!

New location for Mediterranean food SW of town. Conveniently located off of the freeway in a plaza with plenty of parking. There's decent amount of seating inside, no outside seating. They are still getting into their groove but it was nice to see that there were repeat customers while I was there. I also met the owner and partner. They were both very friendly and ready to strike up a conversation. I went for lunch on Saturday and I was the only one there so it was pretty quiet and quick. A few people arrived shortly after and sounded like they've been there before. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate which came with a salad, rice, hummus and one pita bread. The pita was nice and freshly baked. The chicken shawarma was their take on it, not the traditional kind which was a little disappointing. Tasted fine but not the traditional flavoring and process. I also tried both the katayef- walnut and cheese. Definitely like the walnut one. And tried the baklava which theirs was made with almonds. None of the desserts were overly sweet which was nice.

Craving Middle Eastern Food especially Lebanese- then this is your place. Recently reopened to a new location. The service is impeccable- owner, chef, and server were attentive. Very helpful on explaining the food and made sure that the food we order is to our liking. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share- hummus, zataar flatbread, fries, and kibbeh. They had different sauces in the table and also gave us tzatziki. They give you plenty of bread- made in house. The chicken and beef shawarma were delicious- flavorful and not dry, comes with rice and salad. The lentil soup is so good. Beef kofta plate is delicious. Make sure to have the mint lemonade - so good. Make room for dessert- we did have to wait for the kunafeh which is made fresh. Totally worth the wait. Make sure to ask for extra syrup/sauce. Perfect with Turkish coffee. Definitely coming back and trying other item in the menu. Great to support local business.

K and I visited for a weekend lunch. We entered and were greeted right away. I had an unsweetened iced tea and we shared a babaganoush, lentil soup and a chicken and beef skewer combo plate. Iced tea was great and free refills. Homemade pita and babaganoush was yummy. Lentil soup was a huge serving; not as thick as I'm used to but we enjoyed it. The skewer combo plate came with good portions of rice, salad and hummus. Steak skewer was really tender and we enjoyed both skewers. I thought we'd have some leftovers with the amount of food we got but we finished everything. Friendly service and laid back atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

It's so goood! So fresh everything is yummy! I am so sad I am not local and won't be able to come here everyday to eat this yummy plate of food! I got the Beef Kabob Plate! Let me tell you, I went here for lunch, it was so good, we decided to get it again for dinner! The freshness of the beef, so juicy, so tender and soft to chew! The salad was so good and dressing, even the hummus with pita, I ate everything !

Great food and service! Saw several reviews and wanted to try this spot. Having been to the Middle East we were curious on how authentic it would be. We were not disappointed with our orders and found several of the items as good as what we had overseas, and some even better. The freshly baked pita and hummus were outstanding. Parking was easy on the weekend and staff were great.

I tried Amena Cafe last night while on a business trip in Vegas and loved it. The owner is a super friendly guy and was very welcoming. The food was amazing. I ordered the beef shawarma plate which came with the super flavorful and perfect texture shawarma, rice, a nice lemony flavored salad, some great hummus and a pita. Their pita was so soft and pillowy. Perfect texture. Their house made tahini is great drizzled on top of the food. I highly recommend checking out Amena for great Middle Eastern food.

We were traveling and our tastebuds were craving something new and exciting. We did a search of restaurants in the area and Amena Cafe popped up. What a find! When dining, there is service and then there is service + hospitality. At Amena, from the moment we walked through the doors, Asim (co-owner) greeted us with the best hospitality and service we've received in years!! Asim made recommendations that were on point, the food was absolutely flavorful, and he checked on us as if we were guests in his home. I have an aversion to overcooked and bone dry meat so I was crossing my fingers when I ordered the Beef Kofta plate. Wow, wow, woooowwwww. The beef was delicious and I could even break it apart with my fork. We ordered hummus (pictured on my plate) and that was rich in flavor as well. My child ordered lentil soup and ate it ALL. That's saying something! We also met Amer (co-owner/founder) who was great! We would return here in a heartbeat and are trying to convince them to open a location in Reno. If they do, I'm moving into their restaurant just so I can access phenomenal food 24/7. Huge thanks to Asim for such a memorable dining experience!

This place is exactly what Vegas was missing. Good palestinian/middle eastern Cuisine and Dessert. Choose Amena over trendy restraunts bc the food here is what matters. The ambience here is amazing as well. Quality food and hospitality! Thank you so much.

We ordered the classic apps: 1. Avgolemono soup (Lemon & chicken soup). It comes with 4 wedges of pita bread and it was tasty. 2. Spanakopita (spinach and feta cheese in phyllo dough). 2 in an order and each is individually wrapped and not in a pie shape like traditionally. They were good too. 3. Taverna cheese (fried cheese). I was hoping it would be like saganaki style and 1 big piece of cheese like i was used to in Chicago Greek restaurants but these are cheese sticks. They were good but wasn't what I expected. Served with a lemon wedge and hot honey on the side. We are it without the honey and they were light, not greasy at all. For our main entrees, we ordered 2 1 beef gyros, 1 is a combo and we picked fries as our choice. The gyro is huge! And they are ver generous with the fries, which were lightly breaded and not greasy at all so they were yummy, aling with the loaded gyros! They were delicious! The staff is friendly. We definitely will come back again to try their grill items!

Great Greek Hamburger, But Spanakopita? Opa, No!…read more Review: So The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill popped up practically in my backyard--right there next to Whole Foods on Sahara and Town Center. How could I not try it? Now, I'll be honest: my favorite Greek spot is Meráki, and when we go there, we're known for ordering--wait for it--a hamburger. Yes, a Greek hamburger! Meráki's is amazing, and turns out, The Great Greek's burger is also a flavor bomb. Whatever Greek seasoning magic they sprinkle on that meat patty gives it a char-grilled punch that hits the spot. We rounded out our takeout with a Greek salad--nothing groundbreaking, but fresh, crisp, and just what you'd expect. The Greek rice? Meh, a bit underwhelming--fine, but won't be stealing the show at any Greek wedding. Now, the spanakopita... oof. Imagine one giant puff pastry with not much spinach or feta flavor--it was a one-and-done situation. Service-wise, it's a fast-casual setup: order at the counter, grab a seat if you like, but it's not aiming for ambiance. Think more quick bite than Mediterranean getaway. Overall, would I return? Probably not when Meráki is just 10 minutes down the road. But if I'm craving that Greek burger and I'm in a pinch, well... I know where to go!
