I want to start by saying I don't understand all the negative comments. People with solar systems…read morethat are years old and complaining about Tru Up bills.. the prices from PGE have gone up dramatically over past few years and you need to still use energy conservation once panels are installed. Lastly, financing anything comes with additional costs. A great way to avoid the finance charges is pay cash or get your own loan under terms that fit your financial needs. It is my understanding that 1st Light Energy does NOT finance solar systems but outsources that for customers who need/want to go that route. After considering these three facts let's move on to my review. Garrett was my point of contact person and he was upfront about the costs versus my savings. He called a month prior to my appointment for installation because he had a cancellation and I was able to get them installed the same day! Any questions I have had he is a email away and has been friendly, honest, and helpful. Fast forward three years I have now installed panels again on my second home. Same great company and customer service. Same situation where the company had a cancellation and I was able to get my panels installed sooner than expected. A year from my second installed panels has past. I never had done a review and realized it was time to do so! Fun fact, this is a small local business that the owner and his brother (co-owner? Idk ) both work at. I highly recommend this company!

The many moving parts to our residential solar plus battery system, including the various entities, such as PG&E, Tesla, City inspectors, and the financial backers we opted to use all progressed seamlessly and, for us effortlessly, thanks to hard working individuals behind the scenes. In particular, Skyler could not have been more helpful, managing our project and acting as a point of contact. Others included David in sales who demystified the process, Varon who coordinated with the utility to ensure we met all requirements, and Gino, who collaborated with Maxwell Power (formerly HDM Renewable Finance), the clean-energy company that helped finance our residential system. On site, the design and install team did a great job keeping things simple. The entire system, including battery and thirteen panels, was installed according to Ramiros's expert design within just four hours. Good quality hardware was used to tie to the roof, which was inspected by our roofer and given a big thumbs up for not causing problems. But even before that, David our site survey tech, gave us the sense that all would proceed well, as he collected necessary data by drone, and made a favorable first impression with his personable approach. Toward the end of the multi-month process, which included time to get a new roof installed, we passed city inspection with YES tech, Dario, an extremely courteous young man, present to ensure we made it through that last step and PTO (permission to operate). YES has an excellent and well-deserved reputation because of these people and others who worked on our behalf. The company can do better automating some of the process, and to be fair, they say they are working on transitioning to a CRM software solution for this purpose. But, I can say that over a period of several months, I had excellent communication with many helpful people. Skyler in customer service was my primary contact and that made all the difference. My thanks to YES for helping us make this wonderful and complex project a reality. We love our new YES-backed system and look forward to working with the company again in the future.

Very Disappointed With the Service and How This Was Handled…read more I purchased a new A/C and furnace system from Honey's Air & Solar around 2022-2023, expecting that buying a new system would mean reliable equipment and good customer service. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience. About a year after the installation, in 2024, the system started leaking from a flare. Honey's came out, repaired the flare, and added Freon. Since then, I've had a friend who owns a local HVAC company replace my air filter every six months and check the system, so I have continued to maintain it. Around July of this year, I noticed water coming through the sheetrock around the furnace. I removed the filter and found that it was wet. I also noticed condensation on the copper lines, with water dripping onto the filter. The bottom of the filter housing had filled with water, causing damage to my drywall and the surrounding area. I called Honey's Air & Solar to explain what was happening, and instead of feeling like they were interested in helping me figure out why a relatively new system was leaking again, I was accused of neglecting the system and essentially told it was my fault. They eventually sent out a technician, Chris. He couldn't find an obvious leak at the time, but told me the system appeared to be leaking again and that he needed to add Freon and dye so they could hopefully locate the leak later. I was told the service call would be $89 plus the Freon, which came out to around $122. I was also told they would need to return to locate the leak. Then on 8/1/26, I received a message from Marina saying that my $12.99 service plan payment had failed. I was confused because I had never knowingly signed up for a service plan. When I questioned it, I was told, essentially, "You signed for it, so you did." The way this was communicated came across as very condescending and rude. If I had been properly informed about the service plan and what I was agreeing to, I may have considered keeping it, but after that interaction, I told them I didn't want it. Now I'm being told that just coming back to locate the leak will cost $725. And if they determine that it's a new leak, I'm being told the repair could cost more than $2,000. This is what I find extremely frustrating: this is supposed to be a new system. It has already had a leak in the past, has been maintained, and is now leaking again and causing water damage inside my home. I will give Anthony, the service manager, credit for offering to cut the leak-search charge in half. I appreciate that gesture, but I'm still left wondering why I'm facing hundreds or potentially thousands of dollars in costs on a relatively new system that has already had problems. My biggest issue isn't simply the money. It's the way this situation has been handled and the feeling that the responsibility is being pushed onto the homeowner rather than Honey's standing behind the system they sold and installed. If you're considering purchasing a new HVAC system, I strongly recommend asking very detailed questions about the warranty, service plan, leak repairs, and exactly what costs you could be responsible for if something goes wrong after the first year. At this point, I expected much better from a company that sold me a new HVAC system.

The crew and all of the people at United solar Electric were very responsive and professional. I would, and will do business with them again, (adding an additional battery). PG&E was a problem. PG&E was very slow with providing PTO (permission To Operate). We did not receive PTO until end of May 2026, over 6 months from the date when system was operational. PG&E will need to upgrade transformer (December ???) before we can send greater that 2000 watts back to the system. Right now, we have conditional permission to operate, limiting output to PG&E to 2.2 KW. To United Solar Electric's credit, they were with us the entire time dealing with PG&E and were just as irate with PG&E as we were. Thank you, United Solar Electric!
